Such an amazing dining experience! We sat outside under a heated patio and received such great service all night. Our servers were constantly checking up on us, refilling our waters, and recommending us delicious food. For apps we ordered the calamari w/ lentils and meatballs with polenta. Both were SO good. So flavorful!! The meatballs were so juicy and the calamari was cooked perfectly. We also got the crispy onions to share and I highly recommend this! Such a big portion and great for picking at throughout the meal. For entrees we got the skirt steak, chicken, and pork loin. Everything was cooked so perfectly! My personal favorite was the skirt steak, the sauce on top was so delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly. The scalloped potatoes were so creamy and the broccolini had such a great bite to it. For dessert we got the almond cake and strawberry shortcake. GET THE ALMOND CAKE! It had so much flavor but wasn't overpowering at all. Overall, it extremely yummy. The steak was phenomenal. And it had these potatoes with it that were soooooo good. I was sharing them with a group and I so wish i got to eat more of it, but I didn't pay for the meal so I still came out big winner. Anyways, the chicken was good too. Not as good as the steak, but still, good. And the hummus was good too, but to be honest, and I feel kinda bad saying this, the hummus was a little plain. Gun to my head, big critique of the restaurant: too safe. I think that more risks could have been taken overall. They played it safe, and in today's age, you can't afford to play it safe. I should add that I was with my fam and I wasn't in the best mood and we're also going through some family troubles so that may have impacted the meal. read more

I would say good but not great. I like the vibe and the design,very 90s New York.The small plates are decent. Surprisingly the escarole Caesar salad was a high point along with the pork meatballs and polenta however, the chicken skewers which is basically two shish kebabs while somewhat tasty are not worth $22 definitely overpriced. Had such a wonderful experience at this place! Red Snapper en Papillote was very good and lemony. It complimented the fish well. Braised Niman Ranch Short Ribs this was so tender and shredded so easily. The flavor was spot on and polenta absorbed the broth. Linguine alla Carbonara was so flavorful and filling I could barely finish this because I was so full already. Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta this was by far the most amazing and creamy dessert I've had. Took my mom here and she was impressed (score!). I was also impressed, hence the 4 stars. The menu is pretty awesome - each dish is just familiar enough that you understand what you are seeing and eating but clearly the chef has added lot of creativity to it. We did find some of the dishes way too salty, but maybe that's just us. - Grilled apple bruschetta: would never have though apples, honey, and bacon would ever go well together, but they do! They poured so much honey on ours though, so we couldn't taste much else. Maybe that's why. - Fish cake: I think it's usually very good, but ours was very salty and that's all I remember :( - Chicken spiedini: really delicious. This restaurant is my new fav - I am obsessed. I came here with a gf in December and have been back several times in the last 2 months! I love the vibe, the service is excellent and the food is phenomenal. The chicken spiedini, hummus and grilled apple bruschetta are my top orders but everything is fabulous. Terzo is my go-to special occasion restaurant. The best part: it's somewhat of a hidden gem because you can get a reservation without having to be online at 7 AM a month in advance. But shhh, don't tell anyone :) I've been 4 times, and I have loved all of my food each time. Their hummus is to die for. Their menu does change frequently, but I have never had something I didn't like. We came for restaurant week, and that was the best deal of them all! Last night was my first time at Terzo and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. Not only was the food flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, the size of the dishes was just right and the wines were excellent. Perhaps my favorite aspect was the service, not too fast, not too slow, food came at just the right time, was perfectly spaced and the waiter was always nearby but not excessively attentive. I could not imagine better service, save as for a ultra high-end restaurant. I will definitely be coming back! Apple Crisp Delicious, a generous size with crunchy, perfectly baked crumble. My only criticism was that it was a little moist. Hummus and Pita The Hummus was perfect, the Pita was just a little bit oily but otherwise perfectly delicious. Grilled Asparagus The spears were cooked to perfection, the egg on top, not so much but the dish still worked well. This dish was probably my least favorite but it was still good. Mushrooms with Polenta Absolutely delicious, the Polenta was perfect and had a more "cake like" consistency than what I'm used to, but I bought it. The dish is very rich though, be warned! Roasted Eggplant One of my favorites, delicate pieces of eggplant stacked atop one another. Perhaps some pieces were a little "well-done" but the flavours and sauce worked well. read more

Wow - A 96/100 Health Score, to boot! Something so many others need to strive for! This is a neighborhood gem in a gem of a neighborhood! With a laid back cozy vibe, solid food at reasonable prices, and a nice clientele, this place has it all... With the exception of parking. On previous visits, I recall seeing valet parking, but haven't seen it the last couple of times. We were there this evening at 9pm, so perhaps they called it a night, but it can be difficult to snag parking in Cow Hollow, particularly on a Friday and Saturday evening. Stellar food here. There are a core group of staples on the menu, and some specials are usually rotated in. After dozens of visits here, my all-time favorites are: the onion rings, their Hummus with Homemade pita bread, the Chicken Spiedini, and the Roasted Steelhead. These items are part of their "permanent collection". The onion rings are reason enough to come here, in my book! The batter stays crispy, and they always come out piping hot, directly out of the fryer. The good news is that you can get just a half order, which gives you a good sampling. For me, the challenge is if I order a full order, I'll easily eat the entire full order. Truly, the half order is plenty for me, and satiates my hankering for their onion rings! Also really love their hummus. Ok, the hummus itself is very tasty, but what I really really love is their House-Made Pita bread. It is soooo good! Trust me and you'll thank me ten times over. This is a great carb splurge. This is another item that makes coming here worth the entire visit! You'll never go wrong with going for the Free Range Chicken Spiedini. Very filling skewers of large chunks of white meat chicken. The Roasted Steelhead is always nicely prepared. Always moist with a crisp skin, although I'm not a huge fan of the mix of faro, zucchini and asparagus base it comes with, as it is somewhat liquidy. There's something for everyone on the menu here. Chicken, hanger steak, a fish, a pasta, and some vegetarian salads...And there all good! My one and only complaint this evening was that the iced tea was overly diluted by ice. I had 3 refills, and each pour was with iced tea that barely even looked like iced tea because it was so light in color. As a result, it was fairly tasteless. They could easily fix this by using significantly less ice in the main serving vessel, or in whatever the iced tea is sitting in prior to being served. Service is normally pleasant and helpful, without being intrusive. The dishes are ample enough to share, so we normally get a few appetizers and a main entree to share. Everything, with the exception of the onion rings, are prepared fairly healthy, in the sense that there aren't items with globs of gravy, or fatty meats. It's quality food here, as opposed to quantity of food, though the portions are sufficient. I'd choose quality over quantity on any given day, and I'd happily dine at Terzo on any given evening! Terzo was one the best dining experiences I've had in SF. My friend and I started out with the risotto as an appetizer, and it was delicious (although I may be biased since it's my favorite food!). We each split the chicken and fish, and personally I loved the chicken and it's sauce the best. We couldn't resist the flourless chocolate cake for dessert, and this was the cherry on top of a great meal. The cake wasn't too rich like a lot of flourless chocolate cakes, plus the whipped cream was a great balance. I will be returning, and hope to bring others here! read more

I came here during SF restaurant week and was not disappointed! The atmosphere is nice for a romantic date, but a little stuffy if you're coming with friends. We started with the Crispy Onions, and let me tell you, this dish is a deal. It's $6, and the plate is stacked so high. They were made with red onion, which I don't think I've ever had in an onion ring before, but they were good. Then we had the actual restaurant week first course, which was some white fish. It was very delicate, and it was like an entire entree sized portion. Then I chose a carbonara as my second course. Terzo was a friend's choice and I'm glad to say we were pleasantly surprised with how good it turned out to be. I don't fancy $$$ places as the food usually is not up to the mark or price for that matter, but Terzo delivered, and it did that so well. We had a booking for 4 at 8pm yesterday and the place was quite packed for a Monday night - not too shabby ;) Place had dim lights (which I love) giving the ambience that romantic touch and was overall very neat and clean. Oh and they have gender neutral bathrooms - Super! Food was spectacular really. Everything was nicely cooked, tasty and good quality. Between the 4 of us we shared small plates of: - Hummus with house made pita $8.5 - Grilled Monterey Bay Calamari on a bed of lentils $14 - Tomato Braised Pork Meatballs $13.5 - Gnocchi Beef Bolognese on a bed of polenta $15 - Chicken Spiedini $14 - Flourless Chocolate cake $9.5 - 3 flavor ice cream scoops (vanilla, salted caramel and chocolate) Allow me to start with the hummus - simply delicious. That pita was oh so good! Calamari lacked taste (but that's calamari though...) but the lentils were such a welcomed addition that I really enjoyed this dish. Meatballs were superb and what a smart combination with the polenta. Gnocchi were soft, reach and paired so well with the bolognese. Chicken spiedini was really nice too with chicken being soft and the green chutney had a nice kick to it :). Last but not least, the queen of the night had to be the flourless choco cake - so rich and yummy! I might just be back for this! Service however wasn't the most pleasant. Nothing in particularly wrong with it, just not very friendly and warm so it definitely didn't add to our beautiful experience which is something I expect from a pricey place like this. Terzo is such a cute, overlooked spot over by the Marina. Probably one of my favorite Mediterranean spots in the city other than Kokkari. Open table is such a convenient method to ensure a table. Our server was super attentive and gave us a bunch of recommendations when it came to food and wine. Their wine list touches all over Europe and it wasn't hard to find something we wanted. Food, on the other hand, was tough to decide on because I wanted to order everything! We went a different route and decided to order 5 small plates to share. Hummus with house made pita: The pita was definitely the winner on the plate. Super soft, fresh, great chew, texture, fantastic. Roasted beets: What can I say...I love beets. And this was also a winner and seasoned well. Grilled monterey bay calamari: Served with lentils. Tender, cooked well, gone in a flash. Tomato braised pork meatballs with polenta: Probably my least favorite dish although not terrible. I thought the polenta was underwhelming but the meatballs had good flavor. Free range chicken spiedini: Definitely my favorite dish of the night! I'd come back just for this. The chicken was on a stick with bread, cilantro, chiles, and onion. Ugh...so good!!! A must order if you visit terzo. For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake with a cup of coffee. This was the perfect way to end the meal as the cake was fabulous! Stumbled upon this place while out on a walk and decided to check if they had any seating because it looked so busy. Very polite and friendly maitre d' who got us a table in short order. We just ordered a few small plates instead of large entree and loved all of them, kudos to the chef. Wine selections (mostly italian) were all very young 2018, forgot to ask if I could get my own and corkage fee for next time. I was very set on squeezing in at Terzo last Friday night before the most recent shelter-in-place, but of course, they were completely booked. I was refreshing the res page every few minutes on Friday, checking to see if anything opened up last minute. Then I realized I could set up push notifications where they will let you know if a table opens up at your desired timeframe (highly recommend!). By 6:30 pm Friday night, I still hadn't heard anything so I decided it was time to give it up and choose another spot for dinner. At about 6:45 pm I got a notification saying there was an opening at both 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm! I was SO HAPPY and immediately cancelled my res at another spot nearby to grab the spot at Terzo. It's the little things in life, ya know?! Anywhooo, this was my second time at Terzo and it was just as great as the first time! Every single dish is flavorful, unique, and extremely high quality. My friend recommended a few particular dishes so we went with those. We ordered the Potato-Braised Meatballs, Roasted Butternut Squash & Brussels Sprouts, Potato Gnocchi, and Grilled Niman Ranch Skirt Steak. I told Ron, our awesome server, that we wanted to spread out the dishes so we didn't get them all at once and he was the best and knew exactly what I meant. He brought the meatballs out first, which we were a little surprised by but I was very happy with the order of dishes. We ended with the skirt steak and honestly just wow. All 4 dishes were unbelievable. Ron also helped us choose a great bottle of wine. Thanks, Ron! I just cannot recommend Terzo more highly, it is without question my favorite restaurant in San Francisco. I've been twice since COVID and have really enjoyed their outdoor dining setup---it's clean and there's a good amount of space between tables. Especially if you sit on the side against the restaurant. You'll be happy with anything on the menu. I've never walked out of here feeling unsatisfied. Some standouts that I love are the meatballs, the steak, pork shoulder, and gnocchi. The menu offers lots of seasonal items so there's always something new to try. My hubby and I came from hiking and wanted to get a bite to eat in the sf area so we found Terzo on Yelp and went for it. I was a bit concerned that we were too sporty for this joint but as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly hostess and there didn't seem to be a problem. The hostess asked of course if we had reservations and we said no, even though there were plenty of seats open. She was super nice and gave us a table that was reserved at 7:30pm because we said we'd be done with our meal before then. We arrived at 6:24pm. We were greeted by a very friendly server and our awesome meal began. I ordered a side of hummus and small plate tomato pork dish with polenta, which was simply out of this world. It was tender and all the rich flavors were in perfect harmony with one another. Wow!!! My husband had the spicy kobe beef tri-tip small plate and we were both amazed at how awesomely tender and flavorful this dish tasted that I wished I would have ordered that instead of what I did. As for the hummus + pita we were both greatly disappointed. The texture of the pita/herbs were a little too sandpapery and the hummus was also grainy and failed completely especially in flavor. How could this be? It's a greek restaurant. Our evening came to about $50, which was a little pricy but worth it. I could have had it on it's own! 2nd place goes to the celery soup. Incredibly creamy with the right amount of citris. Honorable mention goes to the side of fried onions. It is HUGE. Way too big for two people. Made with buttermilk batter and red onions, great sweet flavor. Downfalls: Lemon Sorbet. Was creamy because it is homemade, but way too sweet.
