Classic French Toast

Magic Flute Ristorante should be able to get more than 5 stars! I'm not a breakfast person, but hands down amazing. I only wish I lived here to come back at night for their dinner. Service was top notch. I believe the owner sat us and he was very nice. He took us out to their patio and it was so pretty back there and relaxing. Perfect place to have a bite to eat and chat with your friends. We started with their beignets and the mascarpone and jelly were the perfect compliment to them. I ordered the avocado toast Benedict minus the hollandaise sauce. The egg was cooked perfect and the avocado had the perfect amount of seasoning. We couldn't believe how big the slice of quiche was. People who tried said it was the best one they ever had. My husband had the Cobb salad and it was really good as well. I recommend reservations and if the weather is nice out ask to be seated on the patio.

If you're looking for a quiet dinner or brunch in a lovely spot, this is for you. The crowd is a bit older, but they know good food. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The waiter accommodated my allergies and preferences. I'd never had anchovy stuffed fried olives before. They were awesome. Sometimes you just want delicious food and not a loud energetic environment.

Great food and sweet ambience. The server was wonderful and we had a really special evening.

Cute little hidden gem! Came and had the spicy sausage pasta, a nice bottle of spritz , some garlic bread, and a delicious salad. It seemed like a cozy spot for locals and regulars. Sitting outside on the patio was a vibe.

Such a beautiful ambience at the lovely outdoor patio! The food was delicious and it was a perfect place for brunch.

TL;DR beautiful outdoor patio space and great for groups, staff is friendly and helpful, however appetizers, entrees, drinks were just average. Came here for a group lunch and started with tons of appetizers to share. The standout were the fried olives, which were savory, crispy, and perfect way to whet my appetite. We also ordered various drinks, mimosas, cran-mosas, Pom-mosas, etc. the ratio of champagne to juice was a little off as there was barely any bubbles and was a little too sweet. For the main course, I ordered the MF burger, which I enjoyed but wasn't anything special. The beef was char broiled, which gave it its smoky flavor. the prosciutto gave a nice touch of crunch, albeit it didn't add any umami flavor that you'd usually expect. What brought it all together was the brioche bun, melding together all the different ingredients that I found quite delightful. The burger also came with a generous pile of fries, which were under salted but still crispy so I can't complain. For dessert, we asked for tiramisu to share, but was surprised that an Italian restaurant didn't have it. we ordered beignets instead, they were sugary and crispy, but unfortunately didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, this place was not bad. if you live in the neighborhood, I would recommend coming here for coffee or light snacks to enjoy the ambiance esp on their patio. However I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again.

Some restaurants are more ambiance than anything else and it certainly applies to this restaurant. The food is so-so but they have a lovely garden area that I like and take friends to on occasion.

Food: 2 stars Ambiance: 5 stars (for outdoor back patio) Hostess: 5 stars The brunch food today was 2 stars. The Orange French Toast Bake was beautiful, but terribly undercooked and low on flavor. It was actually soggy... I also had to request maple syrup to make up for the poor flavor. The ambiance in the back patio is 5 stars (well heated, soothing water feature, pretty ivy). But the French Toast was awful (the worst I've ever had in SF), so I sadly have to give this place 2 stars.

Always great quality and service. Love the beignets with cinnamon cream. Better than NOLA.

An SF institution for a reason!! This small, intimate seafood bar on Castro St. is the perfect way…read moreto fuel up while exploring the city. Anchor Oyster Bar will likely have a wait all day, most times of day. However, there are lots of shops to stop into nearby where you can still call your name if called.  The reason to stop in? Their cioppino. A hearty, tomato-based seafood stew chocked full of fresh bay seafood like mussels, clams, crab, shrimp, and white fish. It's served hot and with a side of garlic bread. Do yourself a favor and order an extra side or two of garlic bread to sop up all of that delicious soup. We also got the seafood platter to try a variety of oysters and their shrimp cocktail, which were all delicious. Steamed claims in garlic butter was an obvious order. No regrets. Highly recommended for a good, hearty, true San Francisco lunch.

Everybody, servers and cooks, were incredibly helpful and answered all my questions with a smile. I figured if I'm going to an oyster bar, I better try the oysters. I had six meaty, juicy oysters ($22.50) from three different regions. It was fun to compare them from each other. My girlfriend ordered the penne pasta with prawns topped with rich red sauce and melted cheese ($33). It was absolutely delicious and rivals many local Italian restaurants. I also ordered the crab burger and clam chowder ($36). The clam chowder was hot, creamy and not too salty. The burger came with a good amount of crab. It looked like imitation crab, but it wasn't, it was much bolder and heartier. I'd come back here whether for a date night or a solo evening slurping oysters at the bar. The food is pricey, but if you're into quality seafood options beyond fish, I'd definitely recommend it.
