Catfish platter Yams with Pineapples and Sautéed Veggies
    Erica B.

Really, really nice staff, slow as ever, but really nice. Stopped in on a Thursday evening, 6:20 to be exact. Happy hour is over at 7. I ordered a run and Coke immediately upon sitting. My friend ordered something fruity. About 30 minutes later, with 10 minutes to spare for happy hour. I ordered another rum and coke and my entree. I went with the fried fish catfish platter with yams /pineapples baked in it and sautéed veggies. The sautéed veggies that night was cabbage and peppers. My friend ordered the baked catfish platter with collard greens and sweet potato fries. Everything came out about 30 minutes after we ordered. My friend's fish platter was fried instead of baked, the sweet potatoes fries were the last in bunch, dried out and old. The greens were indeed Glory Greens. If you know you know! My sautéed veggies were delicious, so were the yams, the fish was refried. So greasy and so salty it was practically inedible. Absolutely loved the yams but that wouldn't be enough for. Second visit. Nice ambiance, kind employees but a sad dinner.

Incredible!!!!! The owner is friendly and passionate about the delicious food and space he has created, about community, about Baltimore, about being a positive person and presence in the world. Super fresh and flavorful vegan food, beautiful atmosphere, amazing experience--absolutely a new favorite!!!

Fish Platter w/ Mac and Cheese

The fish platter was the best I've had in a long time and their mac and cheese is to die for. They began making our orders from scratch when we ordered which was great to see. 10/10

You have to really like straight-on jazz, bossa and bebop, and modest food and pricey drinks to hang out every 4th Sunday from 5-8 p.m. However, the helpful servers and friendly diners who are also musicians, vocalists and the friends who support them make this a hopping place to be. Give it a try, no lie!

I've been to Terra Cafe 2x now, out in the huge back patio area. It's an amazing space, a hidden gem in Charles Village. Definitely enjoy spending time out there. The first time I visited, I didn't eat. However this second time, I placed an order for fish nuggets and fries. It took maybe 10-15 minutes for my food to come out and when it did, it was pretty no frills. My main issue was a complete and utter lack of condiments. I need hot sauce with my fish, and I don't carry it around in my purse regardless of what Beyoncé commands us to do. Vinegar would have been a nice option also. Plus it's pretty standard at a minimum to provide ketchup to go with fries. There was none of this. The good news is the fish and fries were well seasoned and were pretty tasty despite a lack of hot sauce. I guess in the future I'll have to bring my own little condiments bag.

Looks pretty but ...Mac n cheese tastes cheese less and fish is near inedible

You know how you have a taste for something for so long and then you get it and it's like ...blah!? Welp. Got a meal tonight. Fried fish , yams and pineapple and Mac n cheese . Well the fish is overly salty and not fully cooked inside the armor of batter and the Mac n cheese is tasteless and has a soup like consistency - it's sitting in liquid smh. So $20 for delicious yams basically. Ugh.

So I went on a slow night to have drinks and try some of the food .... the bartender was very accommodating and attentive.... I order had a mushroom wrap and a margarita I forgot the name it was passion fruit .... my drinks and food was very good ...... at close out I got some greens to go and BABYYYYYYY THOSE GREENS WERE BOMB. I'm going back for some real food .... I want fried fish greens Mac and cheese lol ... ijs my lil vegetarian wrap was good but I had to rethink how good my moms greens really are... Street parking I found a park easily but wasn't sure if I had to pay the meter , I don't come in the city often .... Prices we so so..... I think my drink should've been less that $12 but next time I'll order from the happy hour or special menu on that .

Okay. So I was talking to the bestie and I was talking about how much I missed a good home fried piece of battered fish. He tells me I have to go to Terra Cafe and try their fish. I kind of gave him the side eye but I took him at his word and gave them a try. 1st off this spot is soooooooooo much larger than I ever imagined. It's HUGE. From the outside, it looked very small. I've seen it over the years but never really thought about venturing inside. There are two levels and the upper level is a bar. Quite nice. I also understand they have performances there. Who knew? Not me... Anyway, onto the FOOD! I saw they indeed, did have battered fresh fish so I decided I wanted to try each version of the battered fish over several visits. Here are my thoughts. 1) FISH ENTREE: Fried Fish served with two sides [Sides: string beans (+), sauteed veggies (+ AMAZINGLY GOOD), mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, vegan greens, rice pilaf, yams with pineapples (+ These right here... are EVERYTHING!!! I'd buy a pound if I could), potato salad, and macaroni salad]. This fish was a generous fillet and had a perfect batter. I wish it came with two fillets, though. It was THAT GOOD! It was the perfect combination you'd want from a piece of fried fish - crunchy from cornmeal, a flavorful w/ salt/pepper and maybe some other seasonings and moist, flaky meat inside. PERFECT! The sides listed above, where I put (+) next to are what I selected and they did NOT disappoint. DELICIOUSNESS. #yourewelcome 2) Next go around, I tried the Battered Fish Sub: lettuce, tomato, caramelized onion on a toasted Milano roll with Terra's chipotle mayo; served with salad, sauteed veggies or fries. This flavorful fish was prepared the same way and it was good but not as good of a serving as the entree. 3) Fish Wrap: made with lettuce, tomato, rice, and Terra's chipotle mayo. Served with sauteed veggies (baked or fried). Now THIS was a tasty sandwich. The spicy mayo married all the flavors perfectly. This was a great on-the-go wrap. 4) Half & Half: Homemade ice tea & lemonade (yummy deliciousness). I mean, how coudl it not be, right?

Came here tonight for their Friday night happy hour that they had going on! We saw a flyer on IG! Had a great visit tonight! There was such a great vibe the minute we walked in! Girls were singing karaoke and invited me to join them, the bartender made our drinks perfect! She's also super cute! Once the karaoke ended, the DJ took over and had a great mix of music playing! We also ordered some food while here! I had the fish tacos and hubby, the fish strips! Both were fried to perfection and seasoned very well! It was part of their "small plates" with prices starting at $6. The size of the plate was perfect for the price. Both were very delicious! We received great service tonight! This is a great groove to check out after work. It's hard to find places doing a night happy hour! It goes until 11pm! The party, not the happy hour! Awesome establishment, vibe, and atmosphere! Will be returning!! EDITING TO ADD: we just got our bill and it was $73!!! Geesh! Amaretto sour was $9 and whiskey and ginger ale was $12!!! Gratuity was already in the check! Definitely wasn't expecting such a high bill since we came for HAPPY HOUR!!

    Receipts!!

Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but I was practically dying fro hunger so I stopped in. A friend of mine said "aye, these are the best fish sandwiches that you will ever eat." I was like nah fa real: went in and let me tell you..... #BANGING!! Like fa real fa real every time I go back to B'more this is a must stop destination on the list. Most people hit the waterside but this spot right on the corner is excellent!! The fish and chips are awesome and the price is just right!

Honey old bay chicken tenders, Mac n cheese and yams

3 stars, but I would like to visit again to taste brunch items. Not much staff, 1 cook and 1 waiter... which I can understand for a small business. I didn't deduct any stars because it only impacted being seated. Had to wait for a bit for the wait staff to return to be seated and to order... was told by a customer that she was somewhere in the building. However, once she returned it was okay service. The cook was very nice. Breakfast can be served all day, but if you come during lunch and want breakfast it will take a while... so I ended up ordering a lunch entree... I ordered honey old bay chicken tenders with Mac n cheese and yams. The tenders were good and seasoned well and I tasted sweet potato fries and they were good too. The Mac and cheese and yams were okay. The yams are made with pineapples, which is different for me... They have sweet tea, but didn't have any during my visit. The inside has two floors and a bar area. The art is beautiful. I will try this black owned business again.

I happily ate it quite quickly in one sitting after the sando despite how big it was. When I got back to atlanta i tried the chausson aux champignon a bit without it toasted and also toasted and it was TOO GOOD both ways! i enjoyed the mushrooms as they brought soo much good umami goodness to my tastebuds along with the mushroom aioli served with it!
