I like this place and usually love my favorite dish, which is the steak eggs Benedict. However, they got a new chef and they really need to train him. The potatoes used to be soft and delicious. What I got was literally potato chips. The amount of steak that goes on the plate was reduced and tasted like char. Clean the grill please. They also didnt toast the English muffin, so the entire thing was soggy. You have killed my favorite dish and now I'm scared to order anything else. That meal deserves a 1 star but I am hoping you can fix this travesty to cooking in the future. read more

I eat here like it's my house. I've been very secret about this restaurant because I wouldn't be able to handle the crowd if I one day pulled up and couldn't get a sear. But their food is beyond delicious for a "cafe". My go-to meal is the 3 egg omlete with the cookie waffle. One time, I had a lamb Shank on the side of my original breakfast meal and ate everything in one sitting. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I will. 10/10 read more

I wanted to give them a 4 star review as the food was great! I did not because of the service charge and service. Don't get me wrong the waiter was polite, although I am a FIRM believer that when a restaurant puts on a service charge they hurt their business. In this case o did not see anything on the menu or in the Yelp description for payment that says they are putting on a service charge. This is TOTALLY ILLEGAL. This is the fourth restaurant in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn that I have recently reviewed that put a service charge on in the fear their customers won't tip. In this case it was only 10% and I believe this should be at the discretion of the customer. I usually tip from 25% so it's the principle. I did give an additional tip although I did have to prompt the waiter a few times. I came here for breakfast and had the Creme brûlée which was Amazing ! I It was light and filling, the restaurant and bathrooms were spotless. The only fault I picked up on was the overhead lights which were in glass balls and needed dusting. If you did not look up you would never know. As a said the service was average and most people would be ok with it, if your a Yelper and want a great experience you would not be entirely happy. The waiter should come over and see how things are from time to time ( It was early in the morning about 10:30 and I was the only customer in the place). Not to repeat myself I find almost every restaurant in Sheepshead Bay has waiters that just take the order and serve the food like a runner. They don't make a "connection" with the customer. Terra Cafe is a small restaurant in the retail section of Sheepshead Bay. With a diner-like expansive menu and a charming dining room, they have a lot to offer as a neighborhood standby for reliable eats. Staff are friendly, but note that the crew is small during COVID and wait times will be long. They do offer take out, but I don't think they have delivery. Right now Terra does offer sidewalk outdoor seating. For the first couple tables, this works out well and there's a small shady tree. After that, the tables get a bit too close to the curb (with no barricades), so be flexible with your plans if you find them more full than usual. I ordered the beef sliders (tasty!), cookie butter waffles (spekeloos yum!). My veggie bowl was misremembered and I got a smoked salmon plate, but I ate it anyway. (It came with potato pancakes! Love!) Two bathrooms, wheelchair accessible, high chairs and booster seats available. Prices fair, not diner cheap, but more middle casual nice range at $16-$20 for a large plate. Shop local, be patient and kind. read more

Great place! It's unfortunate that Terra is located on such a busy driving street because there is usually no place to park so it's hard to get here. Make it happen though because the food is surprisingly great! I say this because they have such an array of different foods from beef stroganoff to sandwiches to pastas to breakfast. The menu is so extensive and you can order anything at any time - breakfast for dinner. They also have fruit smoothies and good dessert. Max, the waiter we met here, was amazing and such a nice guy! He really made our meal great with recommendations and just his overall personality. He was very attentive, but gave us our space to enjoy. The perfect waiter! My husband and I liked him so much, we made it a point to go back on a day when he would be working. Overall we've tried the BLT-E-A which was more massive that I thought - hard to eat, but very good, truffle fries (these could've used more truffle oil - smelled like truffle tasted like reg fries), the beef and chicken stroganoff (very good!), the truffle mac and cheese (drool), the mushroom julienne (so flavorful), and the Ponchiki for dessert (so cute!). I ordered the steak eggs Benedict and my date ordered the salmon eggs Benedict. We were both satisfied. My steak was cooked very well and was on top of sautéed mushrooms and onions...soo fricken good! The only reasons I took away a star was because my date ordered oatmeal and when we got it, it was so watery and barely had oats. Also, DO NOT ORDER THE JALAPEÑO MARGARITA. There is almost no jalapeño flavor in it and I'm almost questioning whether or not that was real jalapeños in there. There was no spice and it might been chopped bell peppers added. I love their steak eggs benedict and I always replace the home fries with truffle fries for an extra surcharge. So worth! My date got the fried chicken eggs benedict and I thought that was ok. I had expected the chicken to be more like crispy buttermilk but it was a little soggy. The service here was also pretty attentive. We ordered for take out the week after because we were so impressed. This time, we got the chicken truffle wrap. I don't know if it's because we took it to go but I didn't taste the truffle in the wrap like most other reviews had said. However, the tuna poke nachos are a must get! The nachos tasted a little stale unfortunately but the flavor was all there and they didn't skimp out on tuna. Steak and eggs-meh, pretty bland. I had to use steak sauce for flavor. Double burger:pretty good and juicy burger. My bf was full from it. Sweet potato fries tasted good. I had an amazing time here for brunch on a Sunday with the girls. First I am impressed with the interior designing. The detail to attention gives these place a nice chic feel that you won't get in surrounding restaurants in this area. The service was on point and accommodating. When I walked in to meet my party, I brought them flowers and the waiter asked if we would like for them to place into water. He also was very patient with our lolly gagging when it came to ordering our meals. We had a lot of catching up to do! The food was fresh, different and tasteful. We ordered 3 dishes to share: stuffed French toast with fresh cut strawberries and a strawberry fill. Not overbearing- it was more a creamy than jelly like fill so I liked that texture. We shared a crepe with mushroom and chicken also had a creamy sauce. I was a little skeptical on this choice but it worked out. Lastly we ordered a veggie bowl topped with scrambled eggs. Amazing! They used your not typical veggies and stepped outside the box adding zucchini and cauliflower. There was a lot some cheddar cheese that gave it a nice light salt. For drinks I had a peach Bellini that did the trick for my morning stress. My girlfriends had lattes- one was the hazelnut latte which was very decadent. The other was peppermint which my girlfriend didn't like too much due to lack of peppermint taste but the waiter gladly took it back and redid it to her satisfaction. And to top a nice afternoon with a group picture, the waiter also was happy to take a few for us. Pricing was decent $80.00 between food and too charge. They do add a service fee which is like tip but we added more the bill because of how well our experience was. Highly recommended and especially for locals looking for a new vibe in the neighborhood. Update: Came back to Terra for brunch today with my Aunt and Mother. We had the avocado fries which were outstanding. I ordered the eggs in purgatory ... I couldn't really get involved with it although it's presentation was nice something about tomatoes sauce with eggs and ricotta cheese wasn't clicking for me personally. I was blown away by Terra Cafe. I just happened to find it on a list of brunch spots on Yelp and decided to try it out with my boyfriend. We arrived and from the outside it looks like a very small place with a narrow entrance. Once you enter it's a very spacious place that expands out towards the back. There were plenty of tables available as it wasn't crowded at all which I liked. The decor in the cafe was beautiful. We were seated in 0.2 seconds and the waiters were kind, attentive and courteous throughout the meal. Our food came out pretty quickly and was delicious! We ordered the avocado fries as an appetizers and they were amazing and tasted great dipped in the chipotle aioli that came with them. For my meal I ordered the cookie waffle which came topped with cookie butter, strawberries with a side of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It was so delicious I couldn't believe it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants something sweet. My bf ordered the steak eggs Benedict and he said they were really good as well. I also had a Nutella latte which was good but I'll probably pass on it next time because it was simply a regular latte with Nutella around the rim of the mug, which was a bit messy to drink. But the coffee was good and strong. My experience here was great and I would definitely return. The portions were good and tasty and not too pricey for a trendy spot like this. Sometimes you have to wait for the Glass of water or tell them couple of times. I've walked by here plenty of times and never thought to step inside until today when looking for a Sunday brunch place. Wow, what have I been missing out on?! As soon as I walked in, I fell in love with the decor and ambience. It is a very casual, relaxed, and chill environment. We were a party of 5 and were seated immediately. Our party also had some diet limitations as some of us are either on a low carb diet or on keto. Terra did not have any issues accommodating this at all. I ordered the lamb shank and asked to replace the wild rice with sautéed spinach, which they were able to do easily. The lamb shank portion was much bigger than I anticipated. It came with 2 giant pieces. The entree tasted amazing. The lamb melted away in my mouth as it fell off the bone with ease. The mushroom sauce complimented the lamb very well and I couldn't get enough of it. Needless to say, I completely cleaned the meat off the bones and my plate for that matter. I also tried the Eggs in Purgatory, and the Quinoa Salad. Both were good as well. Their marinara sauce that comes with the eggs is housemade, so it's quite unique. They give you a very generous portion of sautéed spinach as well. If you like overeasy eggs, and runny yolks, then this is great. If you don't, then you might want to ask the waiter if the eggs can be cooked more. The quinoa salad is another go-to option. The grilled chicken has a certain crisp to it that made the whole dish very appetizing. Interestingly, this is the also the first time I saw a 'Nutella Latte' so nutella lovers, rejoice. Came here for dessert with my friend and it was completely empty. We were trying to get the attention of someone in the kitchen. After a few minutes, someone came out. We wanted to order a crepe and had to repeat ourselves a couple times before he asked if it was to stay, that we should just sit down and order. So we sat down and the guy stayed by the counter and my friend just pretty much repeated himself and said ok so we'll have the crepe. The guy was super rude and not friendly at all. We also then ordered the Nutella latte and the guy pretty much rolled his eyes like if we were asking for too much.
