I took my friend here for dinner to celebrate her 30th birthday. I found this place on yelp and liked their menu so we decided to try it. It was a nice atmosphere inside. It was pretty quiet for a Friday night but I didn't mind it. My friend was running late so I asked for a drink menu and ordered a mimosa ($7). When I finished it another waiter came over and told me they had happy hour all day which included $5 martinis - I couldn't pass up the offer. It was a lychee martini and was very good. I wish I had known about the $5 martinis before ordering my mimosa. I let my friend finish the martini because I had to drive. We had the truffle mac and cheese and the tuna poke nachos as appetizers. Both were delicious! For entrees I had the turkey wrap with sweet potato fries and my friend had a burger. We were so full we ended up having to wrap our meals up to take home! The food came out very quick and the waiters were very attentive to us. There was one other table taken that night. When we got the bill I noticed there was a service charge already included so I didn't add an additional tip. Our bill came out to about $85 with the $7 service charge included. I also filled out their survey about the service. The waiter came back and asked if everything was ok because we didn't leave an additional tip. I said I thought the service charge was the tip. He said it was only 10%. We then left an additional $10 so they received a $17 tip in total, which is more than 20%. I totally didn't realize the service charge was only 10%, the receipt did not indicate that. I didn't pay much attention to the check. I think this can be confusing for customers. I suggest letting customers know that a 10% service charge is included and maybe even have a suggested tip amount at the bottom of the receipt to help customers figure out the math and how much they want to give. Overall, we had a nice dinner, the food and service were good. I'd recommend it and I would return. read more

I was a big fan ordered from here pretty often but now I'm over it. For the prices vs what you get it just doesn't make sense... Let's start with they have this addicting aioli and this one time I paid for a drink and said no drink plz just the aioli so they sent me one.. so you telling me I paid 2 something for one tiny little sauce cup no I really don't think so. I order pancakes recently... I was pretty horrified it was dry first and I paid for two toppings and asked for extra for the topping and it was paid for and such I definitely didn't not get what I paid for. I flipped the pancake over and it was burnt. So I basically paid for a huge dry overpriced pancake which was burnt. The restaurant did a good job of maintaining social distancing guidelines by keeping an empty table between guests. The food was awesome!!! Had a hard time choosing what to get because there were so many amazing options on the menu. Chose something sweet for Sunday brunch- the cookie waffle. SO GOOD. Paired it with a passion fruit mojito and a side of fries for something savory:). I ordered the chicken sandwich because it had a star or gold medal next to it. comes with Jack cheese and bacon in it and fries on the side. The bacon was pure fat( took it out the sandwich). The fries were oily, overly salted and extra crispy. The grilled chicken however was decent. I added a chocolate lava cake and its the smallest thing, but whatever. Cook the bacon alot longer the next time someone orders this meal or any meal that has bacon in it. Don't over cook the fries and then shower them with salt. This sandwich should not have a gold medal and that lava cake should be 3 bucks. I've had better from the frozen aisle at the supermarket. BTW I ate half of the sandwich and through out everything else except the other half of grilled chicken, ill eat that with something else later. After ordering take out a few times, we had our baby shower at this place. It was perfect! Amazing service! Decorations were perfect and impressed our guests. And most importantly, the food was delicious; according to some of our guests it was the best food they had at a baby shower! The shish kebabs specifically are some of the best I ever had! We were slightly pressed for time (my fault) so we practically ordered the moment we sat down. I went through other reviews and though the safest and maybe quickest would be the eggs Benedict while my sister ordered the fried chicken sandwich w/sweet potato fries. Eggs Benedict was pretty good, the eggs were poached just right and the sauce wasn't too heavy. The ham was too salty though. Salad was fresh and I think it came with home fries (wish they were a little crispier). The fried chicken sandwich looked pretty good, but it was very messy to eat. I liked the sweet potato fries! Although clean and fairly nice ambiance the food is pretty much inedible. - when you have so many different unrelated items in the menu there is no way all are freshly prepared and are definitely cooked form frozen as it was with our ponchiki dessert - the amount of salt added to each dish which did not necessarily need salt made the food unpalatable. - streak crostini, sesame tuna, poke nachos, French fries, grilled vegetables and branzino, potatoes and mushrooms all had so much salt it was truly impossible to enjoy. Although a side of fries and vegetables were remade everything else was not as it would have taken forever with out dinner party. All in all just terrible. What a shame we had to spend over $300 on a dinner which wasn't even of diner quality. read more

Great spot for brunch! I recently discovered this nice little spot and went there for brunch. It's a very nice, quaint environment. I went on a weekday, so it was pretty empty. Service was great! The menu has a nice variety. If you're someone who likes pancakes, french toast and waffles, this is a good spot to visit. I had the chocolate chip pancakes, which hit the spot. My husband had the cinnamon swirl pancakes. Everything tasted good and the prices were decent. They have a pretty large lunch menu as well. I walk by Terra and ask personal if they have Creame brûlée in the menu. I was craving for this desert and was particularly looking for that in the neighborhood. The waiter said, "yes, we have creme brulee," So I got served french toast! When I talk to the waiter and tell her this is not that I asked and I don't like a French toast at all! The server explained that the sauce drizzled on top of French toast had to do something with cream Brulee. She said it's that they have and she asked me if I wanted to take it home! Nice addition to the Sheepshead bay restaurant scene. Very clean,not too busy on a Saturday afternoon (when we were there), expansive menu with all the expected options + more. The portions are fairly big based on what we ordered. I got the "almost Cuban" sandwich. It's gigantic and amazing. I substituted the Swiss for cheddar and I really enjoyed it plus had plenty of leftovers. My wife got he Benedict and said it was alright. We also got a lobster bisque which was just average and a little too salty. The fried calamari were different than we are used to but I really enjoyed them. Very crispy! For a place right in the the heart of Sheepshead Bay, it should've been spectacular. The menu and overall appearance of the place is very appealing. The waiter did NOT know the menu and to make it even more amusing, he barely spoke english. Second of all, both of ordered Eggs Benedict and asked to replace the home fries with truffle fries. The waiter denied that request and said he cannot do that. That was really funny to us since there was no one else there and its a relatively new place. Furthermore, our order took almost an hour and when it got to our table. The eggs were not runny as eggs Benedict should be. The fries were stale, flavorless and COLD. Had to throw it out the soup and chicken immediately. I don't know what's going on with the chef but he/she cannot cook. I am annoyed I spent so much money and threw it all out. I ordered from this place before and it was salty as well but I decided to give them another go. I will be staying away from this restaurant and will never let anyone I know order from here either. Really nice and interesting place- great addition to the area. Menu is extensive with a lot of healthy options including juices, smoothies and lean soup. Good portions and presentation is really nice. I would recommend this place for brunch. If ordering the calamari I would ask for their white aioli sauce. The place is still starting up and their waiters just need more experience. Other then that, I see a lot of success for Terra in this location in the future. Here is a pic of some of our apps. I enjoyed everything except the skirt steak app was cooked a bit too well for my liking. Calamari was seasoned well. My soup (which came later) was really good and the 1 year old that I shared it with really enjoyed it. Their kids meal is good (chicken fingers and fries), as well as their burgers. FREEEEEEEZING! The problem here is the restaurants layout which is entirely comprised of one slim long room and the poorly planned positioning of the entrance door. Yes, heaters are on but as soon as someone opens the door to enter or leave, cold air rushes in. This is especially annoying on days with strong winds. We came in when the outdoor weather was in the high 40's and I couldnt help but notice there were several tables with people wearing jackets. It certainly shouldn't be like this. While most people enter and leave quickly, there are sometimes large groups entering and leaving, and some solo's which move with the speed of a turtle. This results in people yelling "close the damn door". Once the weather drops even lower, it will get more and more uncomfortable there. On the flipside, days with hot weather will blast in heat. They should definitely install a double door system like in many other restaurants. Time to discuss the food .... the omelette with lox and salad was absolutely delicious. I personally didnt try the potato pancakes but my family absolutely loved them. The eggs in purgatory dish was likewise absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and accomodating. Overall, great food but that door just annoys me. As much as I loved the food, I likely wouldnt come back until this issue is resolved. read more

Restaurant has a vertical orientation that went to the back with seating starting from the from to the back where the cashier is with tables seating at most 4 and min 2 person tables. There are connected wall seats on the left side upon entering and tables were set up according with that and the 4 man tables aright on the right side. Food- Oh my, food was heavenly, I ordered onion ring towers and pasta, I felt like carb heaven hit me after the pasta, I believe it was the gnocchi pasta and it was fulfilling, the sauce was top tier, and I could barely finish, mostly because the onion ring tower I order had huge ass onion rings of about ten at full sized as they can be on a stick. I prob should've ordered only just the gnocchi pasta if I knew how it would be. Customer service- it was well received and they were attentive to water and how people were done with the their food, I applaud that attention to detail.
