I've gotta say this place exceeded my expectations for a Filipino coffee shop. This place is 5 stars for design and ambience. 4-1/2 stars for their coffee. And 3-1/2 stars for service. Allow me to elaborate. Many Filipino restaurants in the South Bay ( livens been to other Filipino places in LA) are very spartan and utilitarian. In other words, no design and no ambience. This place is gorgeous. Dare I say even better than Starbucks or Coffee Bean! They have free WiFi for those who want to work/ study. I'm recommending to my daughter and wife in fact. The drip coffee is 4-1/2 stars because the flavor is good but the drip coffee was served not in an ideal hot temperature. My wife ordered latte and that was just right. I ordered a siopao (like a bao) even though I wasn't hungry as I wanted to try their food selections. It was good though the dough was not a soft as others. But still good flavor. Their food selections are limited at this time of writing but their menu board says sandwiches are coming soon. Guess we will be back! If you haven't been here yet, I recommend highly you do! Kudos to Teofilo, if that's the name of the owner or whoever it is. I wish this place well and hope to be back often enough. read more

We had a really disappointing experience yesterday. Came in around 9-9:30am, and everything we ordered was a letdown. My pandan foam tasted extremely bitter, and the matcha was so poorly made that I ended up throwing it away, it wasn't even green like ceremonial matcha should be. The coffee is what it's all about. If you haven't tried Filipino coffee, you're in for a treat. Their Los Al location has now officially closed and Carson is the new home of Teofilo. They even have a Naples/Long Beach location in the works. What I really enjoy about the coffee is the diversity in menu options. There's a little bit of everything for everyone. You can get a drip coffee, cold brew, a latte, or even a personalized cup of Aeropress. What more could you ask for? The space itself is nice and homey. Stopped here on a road trip and it was such a pleasant cafe! The baristas were kind, happy to answer questions and offer some laughs along the way. The menu was creative and all items sounded delicious. I ordered a cold brew and it was strong but smooth- truly fantastic. visited for the first time today around 130-2pm with my brother (9/2). whenever i go to a coffee shop for the first time, ill usually have a few drinks in my head and i'll ask the barista what drinks are popular, then what their preference would be. if their preference matches with one of the choices in my head, then voila, i have my drink of choice. very friendly barista, she said the pumpkin spice latte (seasonal) or the popular ube latte (both choices i was choosing from). my brother got the pandan latte. haven't been here since i was back in college, but it's nice to see this place has taken over green door. smiles all around, will visit again! read more

My co-worker and I went to this location on Wednesday March 5th at 8am. It took almost 20 minutes to take our order. The guy in the dreadlocks and nose piercing looked like he's barely opening the store so the equipment wasn't ready. We figure we'll give him time to do his job because he was ignoring us at the counter.(no attempt to say, I'll be right with you soon.) Until I realize they opened over an hour ago. He finally takes our order and there's no acknowledgment of him hearing us or any eye contact while making our order. So I had to repeat the order and without looking at me he says, "I got it!" Once my order is complete, I use my card on the machine and while that is processing he leaves to the other room. He finally comes back to the counter five minutes later and I asked for my receipt because he left before the card transaction was completed. He prints a 1/4 inch paper and hands it to me. It was only the coffee shop name printed on it. There was no order or the total price on it Only positive was the coffee was great! We loved it. read more

Good barako drip coffee & pandesal. Yum!! It would be nice if they added more Filipino touch , like painting, tropical plants or even baskets from home goods. Make us feel that we're in the countryside of the Philippines. Or up in the mountain of Benguet. Few simple decor can change the ambience of this place. The place still reminds me of Greendoor coffee ( before they occupied this place) with the industrial feel. The only "Filipino" decor that I can see are the few portraits on the wall and a small Philippine flag. And it would be nice to eat warm pandesal, dipped in barako coffee, listening to Filipino songs.. or even Filipino Xmas songs. It's the "ber" months, after all instead of the music they've playing ( kpop or something). Make us feel we're in the Philippines . I still want to give you a 5 stars because I want to support coffee from my dear motherland. I hope the owners can read this review. read more

As I walked in I was immediately greeted. I chose this because my husband is Filipino and it's very close to the double tree hotel. The drinks were on point.
