I want to give an updated review on my favorite coffee shop in Torrance. The baristas here are very friendly. While the venue is small, they make use of the space by providing narrow seating, lthree outlets, a bathroom, and a shelf dedicated to coffee and merchandise. Since I go frequently, I want to first and foremost, recommend the avocado toast and the egg salad toast. Both are fresh and delicious. The only thing I would not recommend are the pastries. I find that they are either too sweet or sometimes they taste like baking soda. For the drinks: - lychee matcha serenade - this is part of their spring menu. I love the subtle taste of lychee. It's not overpowering, and the match is delicious as well. - lavender latte - they use clover Sonoma organic milk, which in my opinion is the best milk to make a latte. and the lavender is not overwhelmingly sweet. - strawberry matcha - I can't remember if they make this in the form of an einspanner - but the Matcha quality is very good and coupled with the strawberries makes it a sweet drink. - horchata latte - thus one is more on the sweeter side (this one ask for 1/2 sweet) overall, I really like going here and I'll probably be there again next week read more

The vanilla lattes here are amazing! However, their matchas not so much. I've tried their strawberry one and their Yuzu Lemon Curd Matcha and I didn't care for either of them. I'll just be sticking with the vanilla lattes because they are yummy, yum, YUM! Service is great. Parking is usually easy to find. Stopped in to get some coffee while on a work outing. I decided to try the following. The horchata latte is amazing! This is perfection. 5/5 stars I'm super picky with horchata and the flavor of homemade vs powder versions. I only prefer creamy homemade horchata. This is the first hot horchata I liked. The breakfast sandwich. Unfortunately the sandwich wasn't warmed fully all the way through. It was cold I. The center. The flavor is good. The biscuit is very delicious. So based on preparation only I have to give it a 3.5/5 stars I will be back one day. read more

This location is in downtown Torrance, so it's street parking only. I came shortly after it opened so there was plenty of parking. There's limited seating inside with a minimalist aesthetic. There was only one person working when I came but she was able to take orders and make drinks with a steady flow of customers coming and going. I ordered an iced dirty horchata and it was good! It's definitely on the sweeter side of coffee drinks. I also ordered a spinach artichoke danish warmed up and it was delicious. I've had this place on my list to try for a while and I finally got a chance to go. It's cute, it's cozy, no outdoor seating, miniscule seating inside. Maybe I was expecting too much, not sure. I had the intention to ask "what iced drink do you recommend that would convince me to keep coming back" However, I perused the seasonal menu and the Maple cinnamon jumped out at me. I could taste the cinnamon, maple? I had forgotten I ordered maple cinnamon. Opted for Almond milk. I really couldn't taste the espresso. Strawberry matcha einspanner review! The drink is more dessert like. Matcha flavor is not strong and it is very sweet. So if you like sweet not so strong matchas, this is definitely your vibe. It's also super creamy as well. Service was fast and friendly .. parking can be hard in Downtown Torrance. I am excited that Offset Coffee Roasters has opened up their second location in Torrance. I have been an Offset Coffee fan since the opening of their very first Torrance location back in 2018. It's great to see how much this OG South Bay coffee spot has grown since then. I got to check out recently this newest location that is located in Old Torrance. It's a small yet cute location. I enjoyed my favorite Hazelnut latte as well as their Egg and Bacon biscuit. The barista working on Sunday morning was friendly and though there was a continuous flow of people coming in, she was friendly and made drinks efficiently. I often come to Old Torrance after church for coffee and breakfast. I know this Offset location will be one of my new go to Old Torrance spots to go for my Sunday cup of Joe. read more

For the love of matcha--the Strawberry Matcha Einspanner (Ceremonial matcha, milk, strawberry syrup, cold foam, and fresh sliced strawberries on top) is top tier! Similar to previous reviews, this drink is a little on the sweeter side but in a good way. I came here for their Grand Opening! They offered 1 drink per person for $1 plus tax. The drinks are so good that if they hadn't set a limit, they would've been even busier! The line was pretty long, but it went fairly fast! I chose to get the Strawberry Matcha Einspanner. I'm a big fan of this drink, it was a delightful blend of Matcha & Strawberry when mixed together! I especially loved the cream! The name "Einspänner" translates from German as "one-horse carriage". Carriage drivers needed a drink that would stay warm and wouldn't spill easily during bumpy rides. The thick layer of whipped cream was an insulator and barrier against splashing. The coffee is sipped through the whipped cream topping which smooths out the strong coffee. In my case, my drink was Matcha and it was very luscious! I have been to their first Torrance location where the parking is a little difficult. This location has better parking and is closer to me! I can't wait to come back after things settle down a bit. Perhaps there will be some seating available. While I do enjoy their coffee drinks, I will probably get an Einspanner again! Offset has expanded the last few years to multiple locations throughout the Southbay and now the most recent location in downtown Torrance. The area isn't that big with very minimal seating inside and out but if you're just picking up coffee and in the area, it's perfect especially for the area. I did try the matcha strawberry einspanner and first I thought I wouldn't taste the strawberry since it wasn't obvious in the drink but it was a good mix of strawberry and matcha. Not sure if they used a syrup but really you couldn't obviously tell there is strawberry in it except for the smallest piece on top. It's only the first day and the turnout was great. i've heard great things about offset so i was excited to check it out. there's a couple of locations and i've visited at least 2 locations before giving this review. i've come a couple times to give a fair rating but everytime i've gone to offset, i left with unsatisfied feelings. i've tried the strawberry matcha einspanner and also their seasonal menu which was supposed to taste like gingerbread. both times, i was let down. the coffee was watery and the flavors didn't taste like the descriptions. the baristas are friendly tho and the coffee took around 2 minutes each time i went. there's ample parking in the old torrance area but it can be tough to find parking in the redondo one. overall, i'm not sure if i'm let down because of my menu choices versus if it's actually the baseline of this cafe. read more

Came to check out the grand opening around 11 am today. I've been to some other locations, and this location is about the same size as the other one near Torrance Crossroads. Looks like they cleared chairs and maybe tables on the inside for this special event. Wish I took a photo of the outside, but they have a cute bench by the window and some open space for people to chat and hang! The line was out the door but went quickly. Upon entering inside they had all hands on deck making drinks, so it was no wonder how service was good. I ordered the strawberry matcha einspanner from their "classics" menu, and was impressed with how strong the strawberry flavor was, without it being overpowering down to the last sip. I love that Offset opened another location in the area. It took over for Cozzi Cafe, which I liked a lot as well. I've had their vanilla latte with their seasonal warm spiced cold foam and it was the perfect treat after a workout! This location is better situated because parking is easier to come by. Parking spots galore. Today I tried their chai latte but made it dirty for the extra kick and it's really hitting the spot. The space itself is very similar to their location on Crenshaw. Minimalist vibes with a modern flare. They have seating available so I could see myself working there for a couple hours if needed. Baristas are helpful and quick. Genuine question: what is everyone ordering from here? I've tried the location on Crenshaw and I didn't like my vanilla oat latte (too sweet). I tried this location today and I ordered a small drip coffee. It tasted like the smell of a handful of coins in your sweat hand. It was so gross, I threw it away. I told my friend about my first negative experience and she convinced me to try it again and I was even more disappointed than the first time. An awesome addition to old Torrance! I'm not gonna lie, I was super bummed that Cozy Cafe closed, but having OFFSET come in to replace them was perfect. They have another location out on crenshaw x lomita which is farther away from me so having this walking distance from home is perfect. They were offering $1 drinks on their first day so I looked around and got one of their most expensive item on the menu lol. I was never a believer of strawberry matcha, but I figured why not? It's worth trying now then later. The Strawberry Matcha Eispanner was so delicious. I think the cold foam was what made the strawberry and matcha blend so well! I wonderful surprise. It's definitely something I will consider buying in the future. My bestie came with me and she got the same and she was amazed by the flavors too. She also ordered a hot chocolate for her toddler. The girl making it asked it was for the toddler and she made it a little colder than a normal hot chocolate. That kind of detail was super special, especially when it was opening day and super busy! Great to have a new location that is more convenient on the way to work. Got a nice mocha, good flavor as well as a bacon cheddar scone. Being the first day, it was fully staffed with all hands on deck. We saw chairs and stools, so assuming they will eventually have a limited amount of me seating to hang out and enjoy your coffee but being, you know, the first day and the line of probably 30 to 50 people, it's probably not going to be set up today. I work in Old Town Torrance and was looking forward to trying this place out. Im a HUGE matcha girlie and would've loved to grab a drink closer to work. I've never had a 'bad matcha'....until this place. I ordered a simple ice matcha latte w/almond milk. It straight-up taste like water. Not exaggerating. You know when you finish a drink and all thats left is lots of ice and tiny bit of latte remnants? And then the ice melts. Thats what it tastes like. Incredibly watery. Did not taste the matcha or the almond milk. Was it even sweetend?? Most places automatically add a sweetener. But I taste no such thing. They didn't even ask if I wanted sweetener, so I assume it's already added. (Like most places) I know it's not just me that had a bad drink, because my other coworkers also got drinks to try out. I was dropping off my packages at the post office when I walked by this place and saw that they had tea too! I was so excited cause most small coffee shops just have coffee lol. Anywho I ordered the passion fruit jasmine with just 10grams of passion fruit sweetener and omg it was one of the best tasting teas I've had. It was clean and smooth and the right amount of sweetness and the right amount of caffeine I was energized throughout the whole day when usually I need my 2nd cup of caffeine. I also tried their spinach artichoke savory pastry and that was also really good! The worker heated it up for me and it was still crispy! And as for the staff I remember the barista was nice and helpful since it was my 1st time there. I will definitely be back and I'm brining my sister and friends they're going to love it! The new location looks great. I've tried their first location near Crenshaw before and was hoping for this spot to be an improvement. I can't say their coffee is my favorite in this area. Often very sour. Recently tried their peppermint mocha, it didn't really taste of peppermint or mocha. Oddly enough it tasted like wood. They were generous in remaking the drink when I asked stating it had an odd flavor, but it was the same thing. Their americanos are also generally unfortunately sour. Unfortunately, will not be coming back here. It's evident with how light the matcha & coffee are, that it has way too much milk. I asked the barista if there was anything they're able to do to mitigate the issue, and all they could offer was additional sweetener. They informed me that extra matcha would be an extra charge, which would be fine if it was stated from the beginning that the matcha tastes bland to begin with.
