Once we walked through Manny's, we were greeted right away and since we had a reservation, we were seated promptly. Quick heads up: cell phones aren't allowed inside -- they take your phone and give you a key to a locker where it's stored for the night. The idea is to keep everyone present and engaged with each other instead of their screens (they do make exceptions for emergencies or on-call situations, at the business's discretion). I actually love the reasoning behind it, even though I wished I had my phone to snap pictures of the inside! The space itself is dark and moody with major art deco Miami vibes, like something out of the 80s-90s. Think pink velvet draped everywhere, a life-size taxidermy leopard in the middle of the bar, and flamingo sculptures scattered throughout. It's gorgeous. There's plenty of seating between the booths/couches and the bar, and they seat you according to your party size. We got a plush half-circle booth with a table that fit all of us perfectly -- great sightlines too, so everyone could see and talk to each other easily. Each table gets an assigned server, and ours was fantastic. We ordered cocktails along with the yuca fries, empanadas, and quesadillas -- all delicious. I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it was pink, gin-based, and so good, served in a beautiful tall stem glass. I do not know what her issue was, but if you are tired and don't like staying up late, don't work in a bar. After saying that there was only standing room, I decided that I was not going to spend money in an establishment that speaks to people in such a disgusting way, so I proceeded to leave. One of the guys out front asked what was wrong and asked if he could buy us a drink, but at that point I decided that I would not spend a dime at this place. Just giving a heads up! I cannot praise TenTen enough - it's a perfect 10 in my book! The menu boasts irresistibly craveable and shareable dishes, and the freshness of the sashimi and sushi is unparalleled. My husband and I make it a point to visit, especially when celebrating something special. We always anticipate exceptional service and, of course, outstanding food and cocktails. The service is top-notch, with the staff consistently on their A-game. Dishes are served as soon as they are ready, ensuring each one is perfect. The bar offers a comprehensive sake selection, Japanese-inspired cocktails, and a thoughtfully curated wine and beer list. Truly, you can't go wrong here. Personal favorites include the tuna gyoza tacos ($16), blistered shishito peppers ($10), and the must-try hamachi carpaccio with black truffle ($28). From the nigiri/sashimi section, the bluefin tuna, salmon toro, bluefin toro, and o-toro are exquisite and literally melt in your mouth. Among the plates, the sea bass, short rib, and wagyu strip and ribeye are highly recommended - just writing about them makes my mouth water. This spot is perfect for a romantic date night, a gathering of sophisticated friends, or a family outing - it's genuinely enjoyable for everyone. They even offer Friday lunches from 11:30 am to 2 pm and a Happy Hour Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, featuring half-priced signature cocktails, wine, sake, house spirits, and a special menu with house favorites and hand rolls. I must emphasize the importance of making a reservation as this place is popular. Having lived and indulged in sushi and sashimi experiences across the U.S., including New York, Connecticut, San Francisco, and Seattle, I confidently declare TenTen as my number one spot. If you haven't tried it yet, do so and thank me later. For convenience, valet service is available across the street. While there is a pay-to-park lot next door, it's a bit pricey. Street parking is an option, so plan accordingly if you're not opting for valet. read more

Visited TenTen on a Saturday evening for a dinner date and our experience was great. The service stood out in every aspect, from the warm greeting to the attentive waiter and the efficient staff who regularly refilled our water and cleared dishes. Their friendliness and impeccable timing added to the overall positive experience. The food was delicious. Every dish was brimming with freshness, flavor, and exquisite presentation. We kicked off with the yellowtail carpaccio, which was an absolute standout. Following that, we had the shrimp, crab, and scallop hand rolls - all of which were excellent, with the scallop hand roll being a particular highlight. The edamame was a delight, striking the perfect balance between sweet and salty, enhanced by the rich flavors from roasting. Our choice of rolls included the toro roll (featuring mint and easily our favorite), the spicy tuna, beet, and the eggplant nigiri. The eggplant nigiri had an incredible flavor profile and captivating presentation. We also selected two recommended sake options, both of which were a hit. The overall pacing of the meal was spot-on, spanning about 1.5 hours. As we departed, we were not only content but also eagerly looking forward to our next visit. read more

My husband and I chose Ten Ten to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was hands down one of the best decisions we've ever made. From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left, everything was absolutely flawless. The Japanese cuisine was outstanding -- every dish was beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and clearly crafted with the highest quality ingredients. You can tell the kitchen truly takes pride in what they serve. But what really set this experience apart was the exceptional service. Every single staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel special. And to top it all off, the manager personally greeted us -- that personal touch meant the world to us and made the evening even more memorable. This is the kind of restaurant where everything comes together perfectly: the ambiance, the food, the people. Ten Ten didn't just meet our expectations -- they far exceeded them. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy an extraordinary Japanese dining experience, look no further. I recently visited Ten Ten for a girls' night out and had a mixed experience. Japanese food (especially sushi) is my favorite so I was excited to try this place after hearing great things. Walking in without a reservation, I was pleased with the charming upscale ambiance and the welcoming atmosphere. The highlight of our evening was undoubtedly the amazing happy hour deals and drinks. The nigiri sushi were creative and delicious, but I found it to be on the expensive side for the quality. On the other hand, the happy hour handrolls were more affordable (2 for $9), although I found them to be just average in terms of taste. The negitoro was brown and didn't seem to be the most fresh. Parking in the area proved to be quite a challenge, as street parking was limited. However, the great service we received throughout our meal definitely made up for this inconvenience. The Momo Spritz mocktail I ordered was also refreshing and a delightful recommendation from the barista. To summarize , while I had high expectations, I wasn't entirely impressed with the food as much as I would have liked to be. Nevertheless, the excellent service and the inviting atmosphere made it a pleasant friends night out. read more

TenTen delivers on flavor and overall experience. The food was genuinely tasty - fresh, well-executed, and beautifully plated! We walked through the door at 1:01 pm. It was busy, and we were told that our table is still occupied and we needed to wait about 10 mins. After another 15 minutes, we were told the people dining in our table were still there and we can either sit and wait indefinitely or take seats at the bar. This was not done in a friendly or sympathetic manner. What boggles my mind is almost every restaurant with a reservation system has a reservation cap time- they should have offered to move THAT table to the bar to finish up. It was a beautiful day in Austin- I wanted to be outside. We had a 3 pm meeting so, we had no choice but to take the bar bc it was 1:25 at this point. And then we sat. For a place with this reputation and a great lunch special- you think they could staff appropriately. They had a single bartender on working the full bar and running the service bar. No shade to him- he was hustling. But at this point it was 1:40 pm- we are seated inside not out- and have had no drinks or food. We ordered our drinks and the fix price menu, plus an order of the yucca chips to start us off. I thought. Those were the actual last things to arrive at our table. We got our first course together, my friend got her middle course right away while I sat and waited and she was completely done by the time my cane. No one offered an explanation, no one expressed sorrow, and I finally had to ask after the yucca chips which as I said- came at the end. The kicker is that the food was actually great! The crudos were fresh and yummy, my chicken sandwich had this amazing honey bun, Fries seasoned so well, and the sorbet at the end was fresh and tart. The bartender absolutely tried his best as well. It's just mystifying to me how off the kitchen can be and the lack of reservation reinforcement for a restaurant who lives on reservations.

I'm so glad they waited to serve us this dish at the very end -- couldn't have ended the experience in a better way! Although our table size was small for our party of 2, the waiters were diligently taking dishes off of our table as we finished them. The service was wonderful, and we'll definitely be back again!

Sat at the sushi bar and for a Thursday night was pretty quiet. There were four chefs and sitting at the sushi bar you got to see the goodies as they were made. Austyn was the person who took care of me and they were wonderful. Very polite and provided great recommendations for the night. Got the sake flight and all three I'd get again. Started with the Barbacoa dumplings....ummmm amazing, soooo flavorful. Next up was the Brussels sprouts and y'all those left with the bowl empty. The only rec I gave Austyn was to tell peeps to stir them to get all the sauce goodness mixed in. Didn't realize there was a sauce until the end soooo that would have probably made me lick the bowl! Also got the Toro fig and I'm not gonna lie I was shocked. Never thought pairing fig with tuna would be good, again rec I gave was to give a spoon so you could sip all that sauce goodness!!! Last on my dining journey was the Prime Market Nigiri Moriawase. This was the chefs choice of five nigiri pieces and they again were delicious. The downside was the omakase was for 2 people, portion size sooo I need to find a plus one, any takers?! I'd go back to try other items and get a few of the same.

We arrived around 5:30 and the parking was non-existent. Be aware of parking challenges during happy hour. The hand rolls are the specialty here and they do not disappoint. They come out sans-Nori but they give you some sheets to wrap the rolls yourself. This keeps the Nori crisp and fresh. The presentation is wonderful and your tastebuds will agree! We will definitely come back for more.

Food: 2/5 for the value…read more I've had significantly better sushi and handrolls in Austin for the same price or less. The handrolls lacked simplicity, elegance, and flavor. They didn't hold together, the sauces were either too sparse or overwhelming, and temperature and texture felt careless. I was also disappointed that they ran out of hamachi and lobster and we didn't get to try that. Service: 3/5 Servers were attentive when we wanted to order more, but they took away a cocktail that wasn't finished. The food runners rushed, and we frequently ended up helping clear the table to make room, which was odd but likely a symptom of how tight everything is in there. We then waited another 15 minutes before flagging someone down for the check. The pacing was inconsistent for a restaurant at this price point. Ambiance: 3/5 (indoor) It's crowded, and tables are seated very close together. Cutting back on the decor for a bit more space would help. Standouts - Loved everything with blue crab. I highly recommend the dip and the handroll. - The outdoor patio looked great. - Ube twinkie was great Parking - Small dedicated lot. Street parking was easy, with no issues Overall We likely won't return at this time. This place needs time to mature and simplify before it matches what it charges, and right now it doesn't compete with the best Japanese cuisine in the city.

Lin Asian Bar + Dim Sum has some real standouts!…read more The scallion pancake with chicken curry dip was outstanding, and Lin's soup dumplings remain my absolute favorite! The crispy jalapeño shrimp were perfectly cooked, and both the green beans and mustard greens were delicious. The braised pork shank with steamed buns was tender, but a little bland and not something I'd order again. The desserts looked unique and beautiful, but the taste didn't quite live up to the presentation with mine. My husband enjoyed his. Our server was wonderful, and a big thank you to my fellow Yelpers whose recommendations helped me choose some winners! Would I come back? Absolutely! Those soup dumplings and scallion pancakes are calling my name already! If the weather is nice and you're able to sit at tall tables, reserve the patio. It looked like a great place to enjoy dinner. Accessibility note: Parking in the back is very limited, with additional unpaved parking beyond a chain-link fence. I found that interesting as when I did arrive, there was another solo diner, which could I say they moved me to even out the round, maybe...so next time if it happens again, there's def something fishy about it. Arrived very close to the reservation time due to traffic delays and thankfully wasn't late. The main restaurant didn't have anyone in it, which had me worried it was a solo dinner and I was keeping everyone waiting. Not the case as the others seated with me were enjoying the welcome drink. Welcome drink was sweet and tasty. We were ushered into the sushi bar by seating furthers to closest and the seats were a bit lower than the sushi bar/prep area and you were basically eye level seeing what was made. My seat was towards the middle which was great. There was a visiting chef from Miami and the three team members who lead the service were great. Everything on the menu was fresh and paired well with the accompaniments. I did the wine pairing that consisted of five glasses throughout the 15 course meal. They also allowed for two additional bites at the end, which is my favorite part of an omakase. Getting to have another of your favorite...always so hard to choose which is your favorite though. Service was great and very attentive, the restrooms were also clean. No complaints other than the funky reservation glitch. Seeing they change the menu every so often, mostly the accompanying elements more than the fish itself, I'd go back when this comes up on my rotation.

Delicious! Came here with my husband for the first time to celebrate our anniversary!…read more Sushi Bar is a hidden speakeasy inside Golden Ace. I've had sushi omakase before and what stands out about this one is that there's lots of fusion and spice (jalapeño, ginger, etc.) I actually wanted to come because I thought it was related to Pasta Bar, but it turns out the owners of Pasta Bar used to work here but split and created their own Scratch restaurants (Sushi by Scratch, Pasta Bar). Not related, but still really yummy! Reservations are needed and it's prepaid. There are other add-ons and drinks that you can pay for in person. They invite you to have a complimentary drink 30 min before the reservation-Silk Road-a mix of yuzu, sake, coconut, etc. Very smooth and sweet! I like it. We were seated with other couples and it's an intimate space (8 spots). Since it was our anniversary, we were the only ones that got a paper menu of what we ate. That was surprising as other omakases give everyone the menu regardless of the occasion. There are three chefs preparing the sushi, and the entire service was pretty fast. We spent an hour 30 min here. I liked that there was bottomless salad with seaweed and the like. There was one chef who kept refilling my salad, which I appreciated. Keep in mind, if I didn't keep on eating the salad, I probably wouldn't have been full. Another surprise is that there are no chopsticks. You wipe your hands with one towel and eat the sushi and salad with your hands. My favorites are madai (sea bream) and hotate (scallop). They have a smooth and smokey flavor. We spent about $500 for two. This is downtown, so you'll have to find paid street parking or garage.

Best idea ever and you get introduced to different things that you typically wouldn't maybe try on own. Ended up making a reservation for a Sunday evening and was seated towards the back. Unfortunately, you cannot do the tasting menu at the bar. You have to sit at a table. I will say that's a one downside because as a solo diner, it don't mind sitting at the bar, I would prefer it actually however I wanted the tasting menu so here we are. The dining room area was very modern and very high ceilings in the back area that I was seated in had a beautiful outdoor view, especially if you're facing outward. The kitchen itself you could see as you walked by through to go to the restrooms and then also you were able to see the bar when you first entered the restaurant. Once I was seated, I was able to order the tasting menu and I did add on the wine pairing menu which it's a decent amount. I'm not gonna lie thank goodness I took a ride share. First off they have a martini order sheet. So if you're looking for a specific type of martini, you can check off the boxes and hand it in. Now the thing that shocked me was when the martini cart came running around the corner. This was really fun to see as a gentleman next to me ordered a martini and it's made table side so you really get to see the action right upfront. Now, after the martini card left, my cart came with all of these little wonderful bites to start off with. The gentleman who gave me the rundown of what was on the menu let me know that I needed to eat as he was talking. So some of these items were meant to be eaten right away not to wait for him to finish his spiel. However, that came back because he ended up telling me I was going too fast! The food was amazing, everything that I had, I didn't take a ton of the food pictures cause I really wanted to enjoy the moment, but everything I had was amazing. There was nothing on the menu that I did not like. There was a couple next to me celebrating their anniversary and they ended up having the scallops which were absolutely phenomenal. They ended up telling me or asking me if I was getting scallops, and I wasn't sure because I didn't see it on the menu Thankfully, the next dish that came out next was the scallops and y'all that was absolutely oh my gosh just melted her mouth delicious. The couple watched me....and waited for the reaction. It didn't disappoint. Now the couple was there because they had a gift card which was nice and they were French told them specifically to get the scallops and you could order 10 of them and you totally could you totally could. They're that good. The service itself was phenomenal from start to finish everyone that came and assisted dropping off food or picking up plates bringing me the next round of wines was just absolutely so kind and fun to interact with. I also really enjoyed the variety of wines that were offered because it gave me a few new ones that I hadn't tried before which is always nice. Now it definitely is a bit pricey however I found that the service and the food itself was really amazing and I would totally go back. And yes, I would definitely do the tasting menu again cause it just made it so easy to try so many things on the menu. And I think they do it for all the guests, but there was a nice little lovely delicious pastry that was given to take home with me and it was phenomenal. The next day kind of reminded me of a Kouign-amann pastry, That is definitely get again!
