This spot is such a fun vibe if you're looking for a large group spot close to W 6th! It's walking distance from star bar and others. There's parking around depending when you go in the day. It's a very fun, almost - clubby vibe. Service was great and everything came quickly, we were in and out within 1.5 hours. Food was good! We tried the brussel sprouts, wagyu tacos, pork belly, spicy tuna roll and yellowtail roll. Wagyu taco wasn't my favorite but enjoyed the rolls and pork belly. The food was delicious. Surprised that I could be amazed by sushi in Austin after years of trying high end sushi restaurants. Highly recommend: mushroom ceviche, hamachi carpaccio, chicken karaage, waygu gyoza tacos, and a5 waygu tenderloin. We also tried the tuna gyoza tacos, bbq toro maki, scallop maki, chirashi maki, salmon toro nigiri, which were pretty typical, but the seafood tasted creamy. Drinks were decent but not the best in town. We had goto's sakura martini, kochi day trip, yuzu picante, pixiu flyer, lychee martini, manhattan 1890, and miso old fashioned. The ambiance was nice and they gave us a round booth as requested. Seating arrangement was 5-stars. Should've mentioned it was for a birthday. They would bring the dessert with a lit candle. Went here for a date night with my love yesterday. The place was somewhat empty due to it being a Sunday night but that served us well because we got seated and attended to promptly. The lights were very dim with candles on each table, perfect for a date. I'm allergic to avocado. The server, whose name I don't remember, a shorter, fair skinned woman with long, wavy/curly blond hair in a ponytail, was so kind. She gave me a menu that she personally notated everything that was cooked in avocado oil or had avocado in it so that I would know what not to order. We tried several items from the menu. The wagyu items were half off due to it being Sunday so I ordered a Wagyu ribeye that tasted fantastic. The Hamachi Carpaccio appetizer was my favorite. It was a white fish thin sliced with truffle. My girlfriend ordered the Wagyu Donburi. I did not try it due to my avocado allergy but she finished the entire bowl. A clear sign that it was good! I also had a glass of Futurosa Rose that was a nice compliment to my steak. I tried the coconut bloom mixed drink as well. That did not taste good to me. They also gave us complimentary Champaign and a mochi desert that was pretty good as well. Overall it was a nice experience. The star of the show was the salmon on the skewers...i mean are you kidding me?! it was SO tender, fresh, and well season...it was absolutely to die for, especially with the HH prices, wow blown away. The second star of the show was the chicken karaage, i've never had such tender chicken in my life. It was crispy yet tender on the inside and it was very well seasoned, i'm salivating thinking about it. Their sushi surprised it. It was so well presented and looked high end, we were shocked this was the happy hour sushi. My favorites were the mushroom vegetarian sushi and then salmon sushi, both so flavorful and unique. Been to TenTen a few times now but finally got around to giving them a review. Came here a few weeks ago for their Friday lunch with a friend. We both opted for the bento box as it was customizable and the most bang for your buck. I ended up choosing the salmon skewers, tuna taco, sashimi & the jalepeno tuna roll. Everything was great and well balanced as well as filling. My friend ended up going with the vegetarian option bento box and she liked everything except for the eggplant. The food paired well with some lychee martinis we need indulging in. It was pretty quiet when we came in so service was pretty attentive as we basically had the restaurant to ourselves. It's a cozy yet upscale space with large curved booths for a comfortable and intimate feel. The server was wonderful, always checking in, answering all our questions, and keeping our waters full. I ordered the spicy tuna and hamachi rolls, thinking they would be small or basic due to it being happy hour, but I was pleasantly surprised. The spicy tuna roll had large pieces of tuna on top and the hamachi roll was also very filling - 8 pieces each! Banana liquor but I couldn't taste the banana. Sushi sampler is a must when trying what they have to offer. It's a great way to try a place without going overboard. I came in for TenTen's Happy Hour special, which is served Mondays thru Fridays from 4:30-5:30 pm (a literal happy hour). A scant selection of small bites and hand rolls are offered on the menu, but there just aren't enough offerings to actually keep you satiated. Outside of the happy hour menu, dishes can run from $20-$250 (excluding appetizers). Quality isn't bad, but that should serve as the bare minimum when paying at a $$$ restaurant... not the highlight of it. read more

This modern Japanese restaurant has been on my bucket list for years and recommended by several colleagues. This past weekend, Shubh and I got to check out their happy hour menu. I loved our evening at TenTen. It's a perfect date spot on 6th street- right when we walked in I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and beautiful the restaurant was. We were immediately seated for our reservation (despite being early), and our servers walked us through their thoughtfully curated menu. The ambiance is cozy and intimate. From their HH menu, we tried the spicy tuna, hamachi, salmon, and avocado roll. We also ordered 2 cocktails, lychee martini and goto's sakura martini. The presentation of the rolls was clean, and I personally found the spicy tuna and hamachi rolls to have a well balanced flavor rich in umami. My lychee martini was perfectly sweet and paired well with our maki orders. My friend's order was taking a bit longer than it should have, so they made up for it by bringing him a free salad. That was cool. In terms of the food, top notch. The chili Salmon is probably my favorite thing on the menu, I just wish there was more of it. The chili is so subtle and adds just the right amount of heat to the salmon. And the salmon is so tender, it's fantastic. The wagyu bowl was good. The beef was very tender and moist. I really enjoyed everything about it. And also, the inside of the restaurant is so chill and beautiful. It's a great view to look around as you eat. I'd recommend coming here on special occasions. I came here with my best friend of over 20 years. We were seated in a somewhat secluded corner and started off with 2 miso soups, the cooked yellowtail, and a cucumber salad. She then explains that they "came from the kitchen" and were "made with love" because we were "so cute together."
