We ordered quite a few plates, starters included the yellowtail tuna, mushroom ceviche, tuna gyoza tacos, and blistered shishito peppers. The kitchen kindly sent out Chicken Karaage snd the salmon bites with a yummy Japanese potato salad. We also had a huge portion of salmon sashimi and bluefin tuna sashimi. Finally, we A5 Maki, my husband loved it! Everything, including service, was fantastic! We will definitely return next time we are in Austin!

Rating: 3.8/5 [dine in] Honestly an overpriced Japanese restaurant, and there are much better places in Austin. The small tapas-style plates for sharing add up quickly. We visited during happy hour with friends and also returned on a separate date night at regular pricing. Service is good and the ambiance is nice, but the food was just okay. I prefer Uchi or Uchiko over Tenten. The cocktails are also hit or miss. If you want to try this place, definitely go during happy hour. During happy hour, we tried the Hamachi, King Salmon, Spicy Tuna, Negi Toro, and Scallop Makis ($10 HH), and the King Salmon was my favorite. Kyoto Blush ($10 HH): A very sweet cocktail that tastes like it has no alcohol in it. Fig Old Fashioned ($10): Better than the Kyoto Blush and not overpowering. Sake Flight ($12): Comes with three 2 oz pours to sample - Nihon Sakari, Kiku Masamune, and Shiokawa Yamahai 'Cowboy'. I'm not a sake person, but think this is a great flight for beginners or for introducing someone to sake. Charred Edamame ($8 HH): I didn't get to try it, but the whole table loved it. Chicken Karaage ($8 HH): Good and worth ordering as an appetizer. Goto's Sakura Martini ($17): Tastes almost like straight alcohol with nothing sweet or floral about it. I could not get through more than a few sips. Yuzu Picanta ($17): Tequila, sake, pineapple, and yuzu. This tasted much better than the Goto's Sakura Martini. Daikon Pork Belly ($14): Interesting and worth trying. The daikon balances out the richness of the pork belly nicely. Wagyu Taco (2 for $24): Tiny, and reminded me of Toca Madera. Miso Roasted Beets ($14): One of their seasonal specials. Good, but not as amazing as our waitress made it out to be. My husband also had the A5 Wagyu Nigiri ($14), Uni Santa Barbara Nigiri ($11), Bluefin O-toro Nigiri ($12), Salmon Toro Nigiri ($5.50), and Hamachi Carpaccio ($28).

We recently came here for our friend's birthday dinner event, and I was blown away by the indoor ambiance! It's an overall dimly lit restaurant with some unique lighting in different parts of the area. They have this terrestrial wall (made up of rocks and greenery) that was particularly impressive and beautiful! Our waiter provided incredible service, and even surprised our group with a generous amount of paloma shots for the birthday occasion! As for the food: (1) Chicken Karaage: Probably one of my favorite dishes of the night! The combination of togarashi kewpie and nori honey went very well with the fried chicken pieces. (2) Brussels Sprouts: Nicely charred with a generous amount of sauce, which was both tangy and had a little spicy aftertaste. (3) Spicy Tuna Maki Roll: My least favorite of the night because overall it did not stand out to me, and I personally didn't enjoy the bits of quinoa on the roll as much as I wish I did. (4) King Salmon Maki Roll: My personal favorite roll of the night. The chili garlic sauce complimented well with the rest of the ingredients. (5): A5 Wagyu Maki Roll: I enjoyed the overall combination of the flavors, but I wish the onion topping was a bit more infused with the dish and that the wagyu was more medium rare.

I ordered a late night delivery from Uber eats and got Toro salmon and hamachi Toro, ikura Nigiri and salmon Maki. the salmon maki was absolutely delicious! I've never had one that had Brussels in it and it was surprisingly pretty amazing. The hamachi toro was my favorite of all.

4.5 Stars Beautiful stylish sexy interior, a solid Happy Hour, and high quality Japanese fare. HH - Drinks are $10, Maki are $10, and small bites are $8. The Edamame ($8), Karaage ($8), & cucumber salad ($8) were fine, but didn't blow me away. The Wagyu Sando ($24) - omg, this was so rich and juicy. We split it between 4 people and even that was a lot. The chirashi Maki ($10) was fresh and beautiful, and the Yuzu Scallop ($10) was zingy and heavy on the truffle. Overall, it was a wonderful time. Staff were super nice :)

Love the ambiance here! Came at 6:45 and wasn't too crowded at all. Tuna tacos were amazing, def my favorite. Edamame was flavorful. Scallop roll was my favorite of the 3 we got. The only issue was one of the rolls taking a long time, but they gave it to us for free when it arrived so that was nice.

Hubby and I came into town for our 10th wedding anniversary. TenTen was the place to celebrate, we made it in for Happy Hour on a Saturday. We were welcomed in by the hostess, sat by the manager and had two wonderful servers. Started with Wagyu Sandos (chefs kiss) we continued on with several different rolls. Hubby and I both declared this the best sushi we've ever had!

TenTen has one of the best happy hour deals in Austin. Incredible sushi, great drinks, kind servers, and affordable prices. It's conveniently located downtown with an upscale feel inside that is great with friends, family, or a date

Sashimi plate. Scallop, tuna, salmon, hamachi, and I can't remember the last one!
    Valerie T.

Our server was very friendly as soon as we sat down. She was super attentive and helpful when picking what to eat. The lychee martini was pretty standard. Drink prices seem high for standard drinks ($17) but that may just be the average cost nowadays. The hamachi carpaccio was really great! Strong truffle flavor so if you're sensitive, skip this. The chicken kaarage was really good (I prefer it to Uchiba). We also had the sashimi plate which came with a great selection from their sushi menu. We also had the wagyu striploin which was cooked to perfection!

Whatever you do, DO NOT ORDER FOR TAKE OUT. They were incredibly slow and the hostesses was easily one of the rudest people I have ever met. She told me to wait outside with the other doordashers without even asking my name or my order (mind you i was getting myself takeout and was in fact NOT a dasher). I came back in and asked how she's supposed to know if my order is ready when she never even asked my name. After this I think she realized I wasn't a dasher and tried to gaslight me and tell me she would never tell me to wait outside and started trying to act nicer. Overall it ended up taking them 1.5 hours to make one roll... (which didn't even come with ginger or soy sauce) Overall I love the food here but this was a terrible experience and i'm extremely disappointed.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. I feel like it's super underrated. The sushi and steak are to die for. We've come here for all anniversaries and love it every time. The service is great, and it has an upscale feel with a level of comfort to not feel exclusive. Our favs are the wagyu steak and scallop sushi!!!

Amazing food 10/10 Service was amazing, fast and efficient Atmosphere was really comforting !!

Tasty signature cocktail with lychees. Super light and tasty.

What an amazing sushi place! Everything I ordered was tasty and beautifully served. A group of friends shared numerous appetizers and had some tasty drinks for happy hour. It's an early happy hour from 4:30 to 6 and so worth making reservations. Our server was super attentive and helpful. She even shared the password for a local speakeasy we wanted to go to. The ladies washroom was bright and clean. Looking in the mirror was almost too bright lol showed all and any imperfections. I need this at home. All in all it was a fantastic experience. Lots of yummy treats on the happy hour menu and I'm sure more on the dinner menu. I'll be back.

Is there a bar area that is good for someone dining alone?

    Yes!

Hi Friends! Is this a good place to take my 26 year old son and his girlfriend for his birthday... for Happy Hour? Good dessert? Thanks in advance!

Yes! I think it's a great place for happy hour. Their happy menu hour consists of half off drinks, $6 small appetizers, $9 large appetizers, and $9 hand rolls which comes with two per order. They also have multiple options to choose from for dessert.

    What time is Happy Hour?

Hi Tara, Happy hour is 4:30pm - 6:00pm Monday through Friday!

Do they have their own parking?

They ask for your cellphones upon entering and give you a key in exchange, but there doesn't seem to be any security to enforce it if you don't want to give them up. I have no problem with their policy, but I bet a lot of customers do. The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. An hour ago it wasn't raining, but now it's pouring. A few months ago, I heard of a newer bar and experience called Equipment Room just right off of South Congress. Music means everything to me. Nothing can express emotions and instill a feeling in 3 minutes like a song can. I live for that. Equipment Room is inherently Japanese in concept. Existing in Japan for over 50 years, listening bars combine high fidelity audio equipment with impressively crafted cocktails and alcohol combining the passion of music in a space to gather with comfortable chairs and a beautiful atmosphere. The concept has expanded westward as all cool things inevitably do, but I would never think a spot would be successful in Austin like it would be in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on. As I back my car into a parking spot on South Congress, I grab the umbrella out of my trunk and walk my girlfriend and me to the entrance trying to not get ourselves soaked in the process. This is not the first time we have tried to go to Equipment Room. We tried to get a walk-in table just to see out of morbid curiosity and that was a failure. I booked her and me a table for this night and I was madly looking forward to it. As we got to the small entrance, we were introduced to the hostess who brought us from the stairs into the main underground space and to our seats on the couch in a large wraparound sofa with other parties sitting near us. The music is faint from the entrance, but once you walk through the main walkway, a wave of sound hits your eardrums. You're immediately engrossed into the music like walking into a concert hall or putting a fresh pair of headphones on for the first time. As we sat down, selections from Outkast's Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik were playing through the speakers. Our hostess introduced us to their "User Manual" (their menu) where it contained all the snacks and drinks you could get your grubby hands on. There's more than just drinks and food on the menu. The first page introduces the concept and gives a few house rules. The second page shows all the equipment this so-called room has, from the premium Klipsch speakers, their preamps and amplifiers as well as their turntables and mixers. It's a dream page for music nerds. I want a $15k speaker in my apartment, but those noise complaints would never end. Our waitress came by shortly to give us water and take our order. Their menu is quite expansive, but the main pages we were told to check out were their A-side drinks or the classics and their B-side drinks, which are more experimental. We had to go with experimental for starters because who knows when you'll get to try something similar again. I started with a Goca Dünya while my girlfriend ordered a Deceptacon. The Goca Dünya was a vodka based floral drink with pistachio foam and Amaro Nonino, an Italian herbal liqueur. The Deceptacon was a rum-based cacao drink with a touch of lime and mint. It took a little time for our drinks to come out, clearly, as they are quite intricate. I loved my drink, bluntly. The pistachio foam was a great balance to the herbal flavors at the bottom. My girlfriend and I continued to enjoy each other's company as the music continued. The space we were in was decorated with posters and memorabilia from legendary artists coming through Austin and some general music decor like that purple album from that Prince guy. The DJ-curator that night was on a tear playing incredible soul music holding the bar hostage with a taste of funk. Jimmy Smith came next before transitioning to a few tracks from Bobbie Gentry. The last albums he pulled out were Steely Dan's Aja (a stone cold classic) and Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life (a top 10 album of all time). Not only was he playing classics like Isn't She Lovely, but he threw down some deeper cuts like Black Man and Contusion. Incredible. We both got another drink with my girlfriend getting their A-Side Espresso Martini while I got the Brown Sugar from their B-Sides. It was a seaweed and mushroom infused whiskey with a few more bells and whistles and it was super unique. Quite a bit of their menu is Japanese-inspired in homage to the originators of listening bars. This includes Japanese beer, sake, and Japanese-inspired food and beverages on their menu. Very cool. The worst part of the night came when our hour and 45 minute reservation came to a close. I could've stayed there for another 3 hours and never grown tired, but with how popular this space has become, they gotta kick you out at some point. This is an experience you have to have. It's worth it. I'll be strolling back in soon enough because there is nothing like this in Austin and it's truly a special space. RIYL: Actively listening to music.

Loved this place so much..!!! If you want to go somewhere to just lounge with low lighting and have…read moresome delicious drinks with great music in the background , this is place is it! They play no digital music and their speakers are installed throughout the whole building. The sound is great! The menu was so cute and on theme. The furniture and decor is mid century modern. I went here for my birthday and they gave my table a round of Sake shots, which was nice! My table ordered drinks: the Brown Sugar, Goca Dünya, Suffer No Fool (non alcoholic), Vitamin C. They were all delicious and they did not skimp on the alcohol! It was well balanced! I seriously recommend the Goca Dünya--that pistachio foam was addictive! For food, we got the Cheese board to have something to pick on and we demolished it, haha. It came with marmalade and crackers. The cheeses were great, along with the dried fruits and nuts. The cheese selections seem to rotate every other season, which is cool.
