I have blue cross eye med insurance, but due to the fact that I am diabetic, they charged my medical insurance instead of my Eye insurance. so instead of a $10 copay, I had to pay a $100 copay plus the eye photos that they require for the diabetic exam, an additional $25. read more

Spent almost $500 for glasses ( after insurance) and was told I would receive in two weeks. Expressed to them when I bought I needed them NO later than the two weeks. Now I have to out of town and not be able to see. Would not recommend buying glasses here at all. read more

This place is so deceiving. The doctor was great, but I felt conned when I left and the staff was rude. They required a special test on my eyes that I didn't want or need and my insurance didn't cover. I specifically requested to opt out (the front desk told me I could) and the tech wouldn't allow me to. When all was said and done I spent $140 on a pair of glasses and contact exam that should have run around $25 with my excellent insurance. I've never paid for a contact exam and they 'gave me a discount' for the more than $60 they charged to tell me the brand of contacts I've happily been wearing for 15 years are the right fit for my eyes. (I later found out what they charged me exceeded the maximum allowed by my insurance and they lied on the bill they sent them...) There were multiple red flags at the beginning of my appointment. I should have walked out and I regret that I didn't. Also they send a survey to customers on how they did and it automatically converts the responses to a positive google review. Which explains the abnormal number of reviews they have. I don't like to be misled and I definitely won't be back. Edit to address the blatant lie stated in their response: While it may be a state law to conduct a contact exam, it's not a state law to charge for one. That may be their pathetic excuse for price gouging for the 3 minute exam, but not every optometrist charges for this "required" service. Also, great way to conveniently ignore the forced "optional" test at the beginning of my exam, misrepresentation of charges to my insurance company and conversion of customer servers to bogus google reviews. I needed to update my glasses. I made an appointment and they set me up as a new patient so I received text reminders of my appointment. I had almost no wait time when I arrived before I was being examined. After my exam I transitioned to picking out some frames. I felt they were very helpful in helping me pick out the best frames. I have a serious eye doctor phobia, Dr Cooke is the only doctor I feel calm with. I still get nervous but he demeanor calms me & he always is so understand about my phobia. Other doctors never seemed to get it or let alone respect my fears. I live in Harker heights & followed him to Temple when he moved from Killeen. First thing I checked for when I got my new insurance was if Dr Cooke was on it! I'll see a new Gyno before a new eye doctor! Ladies you'll get me! His staff is excellent as well. I have been going to them for 6 years. I scheduled the earliest available appointment (3.5 weeks). The day before my child's appointment, I was told they no longer carry my insurance but they'd go ahead and schedule me as self pay and I could just pay out of pocket. I have insurance why would I pay more. Um no!! She was very rude and short with me because I refused to pay what my insurance should be paying. read more

Doctor is great but the staff rude and incompetent. It's so frustrating to deal with them. I've been 3 years in a row. The 1st year they billed me wrong, the 2nd year they ordered the wrong contacts, this year they forgot to send me my medical records I requested. I keep going back because the doctor is super kind and caught something that other doctors have missed and I appreciate that, but it's getting harder to justify. read more

i don't leave reviews ever but this staff is so rude. all i did was call on the phone to simply ask for their price for an eye exam and contacts and this lady acted like i was a complete waste of time. i spoke to 2 different women and both had the worst attitudes. my wife and i will not be coming here for our exams now. as i was saying thank you and goodbye, she hung up in my face. luckily enough i actually enjoy my life unlike her so i won't allow this to ruin my day but hire better staff like damn man read more

Temple Vision is not a family friendly environment. The only positive is the eye-tech was courteous and helpful. Dr. Maloney did not waste time with rude and inappropriate comments aimed at my wife and children. Of course I was not there, and the professional Doctor himself directed his comments at my twelve year old daughter during her eye exam. To his benefit Dr. Maloney has such a high opinion of himself that he truly believes no one is the wiser when he be little's them. He mistakes kindness and the desire not to make a scene with dull witted people who are inferior to him. I had to post here because Temple Vision Eye Care has hired a company that falsely puts online positive reviews. If you find a positive review check out all the reviews of that person and ask yourself if this is from a company trying to manipulate you or if it is real? Again the good doctor and the companies he hires thinks that the consumer is an idiot and undeserving of honesty and dignity. Always feel comfortable and welcome when I visit this office. Employees are friendly. One male employee greeted me by name, and asked how my time in serving the National Guard is going. My last visit was about 2 years ago. So small things like remembering things and names of clients is what makes Temple Vision standout to me.
