Our initial visit was exactly what my wife and I needed - comprehensive explanation of my wife's condition, complete review of what would be done (including pictures and drawings!), answered all our concerns. We were not hurried through the process. And, the staff was very helpful and friendly. So far, so good. Then, came the surgery. Dr Kroeker came into the pre-op prep room and reviewed what would be done and any risks associated with the surgery. Including a chance for a condition called "hungry bone syndrome." The surgery was perfect and so was recovery. Only one overnight stay. And back home. The next day, my wife developed symptoms of hypocalcemia and Dr Kroeker immediately had us return to the hospital. My wife had hungry bone syndrome. The remedy is constant monitoring and IV calcium and other minerals. My wife's thyroid issue had depleted her bones and they were now sucking up all they found. For the next eight days, Dr Kroeker was in constant contact with the hospital. And, she visited my wife all the time. Throughout this condition and after my wife left the hospital, Dr Kroeker continued to stay in touch via phone, email and text. Today, 6 months or so later, my wife's incision isn't noticeable (unless you look hard). I can't be happier. And my wife is thankful for the care and attention by Dr Kroeker.

To explain how I feel about Double Mac I have to get personal, hopefully you'll be ok with this and not judgmental... Over a year ago I began struggling with my worst bout of depression I had ever experienced and I had no idea what to do or where to go. No psychiatrist's office was accepting my form of insurance and I could not afford $200+ and hour to see a psychiatrist. So, I had my name on waiting lists hoping one of them would start accepting my insurance in the mean time and call me back. Dr. Vache's office was one of those places, she had incredibly kind people who worked for her and saw that I had called several times in a span of 5 months. The front desk staff would call to check on me since they knew I was not receiving treatment. It was during one of these calls that they realized I was not aware that McCall worked for them (at the time, she is now on her own) and could see me at a reduced rate of what the Doctor could. I will not lie, I was hesitant. But, I had been on wait lists all around Austin trying to find a good and reputable place that took my insurance for too long. I was physically and emotionally worn out from white-knuckling through each and every day for the past 5 or more months. I thought McCall was a student in training or something, but of course I couldn't have been more wrong. McCall has excellent credentials, has years of experience, and truly listens to what you say you feel is happening and what you hope to accomplish. She did not give me any medicine until we ran some tests. She helped me find a place that would run the tests and accept my insurance - EEGs are pricey on their own. While we waited on test results, she encouraged me to try some major changes in my diet and she was 100% right - it was a huge help. Just changing my diet helped how I felt in major ways. She continually encourages me to stay away from some medicines and approves others. We do a lot of work with diet, exercise, vitamins/supplements, and then incredibly low doses of medicine. Note: Obviously if she felt I needed stronger doses or I felt I needed stronger doses of a medicine, she would work with me on that. HOWEVER, she knows my goals, she keeps my goals in mind, and she works with me on ways to achieve those goals. Now, while I still struggle with depression and anxiety (I have for over 10 years) for the first time in a very long time I feel like I have someone in my corner medically who understands what is going on with me not only physically, but mentally as well. I have started feeling so much better, she helped me find a therapist who I love and trust. Without her I have no idea where I would be, truly. She cares for me, as I am sure she does for all her patients, and I recommend without hesitation that you give her call.

I wish someone would revoke her license! There were so many red flags, but the last straw was when my husband was continuing to lose weight at a rapid pace, and she just gave him a lecture claiming he was pocketing the pills and not taking them. Immediately after that appointment, I started looking for a new doctor for my husband and I found Dr. Segu. Seeing all the positive reviews, I knew he would be the one to help him. Coming in for his first visit, I was nervous. Even though he had great reviews, I just wanted someone to help my husband. But all my worries went away when I saw Dr. Segu come to the waiting room, and happily wave at his wife when he saw her. Seems silly, but that showed me he was a kind person and had a heart. (Unlike my husband's previous doctor) When we went in, the nurse practitioners were great and so kind. It made the experience all the better. And Dr. Segu is literally Superman. He was our hero and saved my husband's life. Pretty much, my husband's thyroid was just killing itself and no medication was helping him. After some trial and errors, Dr. Segu decided he would need surgery. My husband was just one of those "lucky" individuals who had it so bad that he would need surgery. At one point, my husband had to make an ER trip because he had severe heart palpitations. Thankfully, a simple phone call to Dr. Segu's office made everything better. He quickly prescribed a new medication for my husband to take up until a little after his surgery. The thought of surgery was definitely scary. We weren't prepared for it, but Dr. Segu made everything better for us. He assured us everything would be ok, and he went above and beyond and recommended us an amazing surgeon. He even talked to him personally for us. What doctor does that? A great one that is! In the end, my husband's surgery went great, and almost a year later, my husband is back to normal and doing so much better. Honestly, if I didn't find Dr. Segu, I'm not sure my husband would be here right now. He was probably on the verge of having a thyroid storm, but Dr. Segu saved the day. Absolute worst experience I've ever had at a medical practice. They are money hungry and their…read moreoffice is filthy. They don't clean their patient restrooms, there was feces all over the toilet and urine surrounding it. They don't clean their patient rooms and they don't clean their scale. They make you take your shoes off to weigh and don't clean up after you step, so you and all of the other patients are putting their dirty feet onto the scale. When I was brought into a patient room the table paper was still wrinkled from a previous person sitting on it. They just pulled the table paper off and put a new one as they roomed me. Not even a sanitary wipe. Their main goal is up charging. They have a rescheduling fee of $100 if you don't call within 48 hours. Life doesn't work that way. I called 24 hours prior to my appointment to reschedule and received a no show fee, even though I gave a courtesy to reschedule in due time. Then they try to up charge my copay twice the amount and claim it's insurance's fault. Then they claimed my insurance didn't cover my last visit so there's an additional $100 fee. When I shared I wasn't prepared to pay the $200 fee because my copay the last time I visited 6 weeks ago was $50. They provided no help and just said to call my insurance, because now my copay is $100. They said they had to cancel my appointment and I'd receive another no show fee. So now my balance is $400. I politely asked if I could be placed on a payment plan and that I would gladly pay my $50 copay they refused because they've had a lot of no shows today and they just aren't having good day. How am I being punished for others wrong doing? I showed up and have tried to reconcile so I can pay my fees I didn't try to negotiate. Then they gave me a ridiculously hard time when I asked for my medical records. They made it seem like they were doing me a favor by finally giving in and printing my 3 pages of medical records. Extremely terrible office. Listen to all of the other reviews because they are accurate. 0 stars, terrible office. Terrible office manager. Terrible presentation of office. This office and their staff are disgusting. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! This place is not worth spending your money.

His staff is completely undependable and unprofessional. Dr. Crumpler told me I needed to set up a PIN number to be able to log in to the patient dashboard he communicates with his patients through. I forgot to get the PIN number upon checking out and the receptionist said nothing about it. I tried calling the next day during normal business hours to no avail. I called five different times throughout the day with no answer. It being Friday, I waited through the weekend and began calling again on Monday, still with no answer. I sent several emails to the front desk email telling them I was having trouble getting through on the phone and never got a response. I decided that I would just have to go over there Tuesday morning when I finally got an answer on the phone. I told her about the trouble I was having getting through on the phones and she told me to just email if I ever had trouble with the phones again because she "always has her email pulled up." While I was on the phone with her I was able to get the PIN I needed to log into the patient dash board. She assured me it would take 2-3 business days to be able to see my blood work results on the patient dashboard just as Dr. Crumpler had told me. I patiently waited another three business days with still no results. I called up there (taking countless tries to get an answer) to let them know I still had no results posted. The lady who answered seemed surprised they had not been posted and said she would make sure they would be posted that day and someone would be calling me that afternoon or the next day to discuss my results with me. I did indeed see my results that day but did not receive any phone calls. I waited several business days and still no call. I enlisted the help of the friend who referred me to Dr. Crumpler, and who is also a patient, to try and get some answers for my results (I am not a doctor and have no idea what all of the numbers mean) She tried contacting Dr. Crumpler's wife, Kelly, who also works at the office personally in order to try and get a phone call to discuss my results. With a lot of back and forth, Kelly finally said she would have someone call me. I finally received a phone call from Emily, a lady in Dr. Crumpler's office who can speak to a patient about their results, two weeks and two days after my initial visit with Dr. Crumpler. She apologized for taking so long to respond and informed me that she was still in the hospital. Several minutes into the conversation, her dog started barking and she quickly tried to shush the dog. She was not in the hospital. Overall I would never recommend this practice to anyone who I know. If Dr. Crumpler had different staff members I think it would be a completely different story. There is no excuse to take that long to get back to a patient on their blood work results and give them the run around and lie to them when they are trying to get answers. Maybe you will have better luck that I did.
