I went on 3/26 because I had already been sick 5 days with a cough, phlegm, fever and chills at night, and muscle aches, and was given a ted talk by Catherine, the nurse practitioner, that she thinks the medical establishment wants to keep people sick and that antibiotics wreck your immune system, and that the clinic has been giving out antibiotics like candy but no more, and that she thinks you need to be sick two weeks before getting any. She even bashed glp-1's. She eventually agreed that if I didn't feel better by day 7 then she would write me a prescription. I called two days later at 1pm on day 7, Saturday, and was told she was busy and would call me back. Never got a call so I called at 5:10 and nobody would answer. I called just now at 8am Sunday and was told that a note was put in my chart that she spoke to me and told me to take OTC drugs until Monday. I never spoke to her by phone, so that's a lie, and why would I wait till Monday when she said day 7? That would be day 8. I explained this to the girl on the phone and she said, "Well that's what it says on your chart." I asked to speak with the nurse practitioner that was there now and she said she was busy with patients and wouldn't prescribe me anything without seeing me. I said "I'm a patient." And she said "sir, you need to either come in and be seen again, or wait until Monday." So I spent $150 for nothing, and now they want another $150 to get what I should have been prescribed already. I've been coming to this clinic for years, even back when it was doctor's express, but this experience has been awful and I'll never use this urgent care again. I'm a self pay person because I don't have insurance, and so I only come to the urgent care if I'm really sick. I always try and stick it out to save money, so when I do come it's because I genuinely feel awful and need help, and these people have treated me like a drug addict looking for an antibiotic fix. I feel like they got my money already so now I'm just a nobody. I'll never come back here. read more

I scheduled an appointment online 45 minutes prior to closing which was at 8pm and I scheduled the visit online for my son to be seen at 745pm. The visit was available online through online scheduling. He arrived early as directed online in the online scheduling portal. All paperwork was completed prior to him walking in. At walk-in he was told they would not see him because they had two other visits and wouldn't be taking any more patient. He had an appointment made through their portal. If they were not taking any more patients the appropriate thing to do is to close out your visits. Poor patient experience. They didn't even check him to make sure he was ok before turning him away. He's a student at UMHB. We are not there with him and would expect hours listed on the website and appointments made to be honored. read more

When they called me into a room, I sat there for over 30 minutes! I could hear everything in the next room. The patient that was in that room came AFTER I was called back and the Dr attended to that patient first while I waited. I caught the Dr guessing what was wrong with me because he told me that I grind my back teeth. I then told him that I didn't have back teeth and his diagnosis changed without him even looking!!! He also prescribed me medication AFTER he told me he didn't see anything. I also received NO documentation about my visit. This visit to the urgent care cost my insurance company and myself $190! BTW, the Dr was also in the room with me less than 5 minutes. :( Useless waste of time and money. read more

The front desk admins do not know what they are doing or even how insurance works... I have Cigna insurance that clearly states on the card how much my copay is for urgent care and they charge me almost double... they said it was because my deductible hasn't been met!Umm..that has nothing to do with the deductible thank you, I work at a healthcare facility myself and am very knowledgeable with how insurance works and this experience has been horrible...of course my insurance company rep and my EOB says all I owed was 75$ copay but they charged me $135... not once but twice! They will never get business from me nor my family again and I will be sure to tell everyone I know not to go there. It seems they just make up their own copay amounts to charge patients. read more

So I went here today for a follow up of my tennis elbow that has been hindering me for a few weeks. I went in two weeks ago and saw Dr Mills As I'm between PCP's. I didn't wait too long (less than an hour) before being seen as they were busy and had sicker people than me there. Staff was all very friendly though my old complaint was assured in that only one person introduced themselves to me- the assistant, and not the doctor- and no one had ID badges or name tags. PET PEEVE!!! Anyway. I returned after following his advice and he injected my tennis elbow with a steroid/local anesthetic combo- which is what I wanted from beginning but Alas- insurance companies prevail indicating how physicians practice now so I do 10 days of steroids first, sending my diabetic self's blood sugars through the roof- thank BCBSTX! Love ya! (Don't mean it) Anyway- got there about 5:45 pm and was out within and hour, having had my elbow injected and feeling much better. These folks are awesome and do a great job getting you in and out. My only complaint is ( like almost every other clinic these days) is that people asking you questions about your health and taking your weight and vital sighs do NOT introduce themselves and reveal their roles. That is just basic courtesy and actually required by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of health care facilities. ( urgent cares are immune to these rules- but still- common courtesy folks.) Having said that- as a medical professional myself, I fee the care here is quality and timely and I would not hesitate sending a friend or loved one here. Friendly staff and prompt care. read more

A comment was left on my previous review from the proprietor (I'm assuming) asking me to call and speak to a manager, which I wasn't interested in doing. They wanted to make sure I was writing a review for the one in Temple, TX since I live in Chicago. Yes, Temple TX. There's a VA hospital there that I was taking my dad to for cancer treatment. In Texas. In Temple. Yes, the experience was bad. The comment mentioned that patients are usually seen with expedience, etc., but I stand by my review and other people's reviews look to be in line. When I say they were super busy, they initially examined my daughter in what looked like a staff office and not a medical office. Not kidding. Again, I had called ahead because I could have gone somewhere else, but this was closest. I also asked specifically how much the visit would be and told a number (it's been months now, but it was around $170). My insurance was billed upwards of $400. This was for mere *minutes* with a doctor. I called once I got the bill and told them I was told $170 (or whatever it was). They said "Oh, that's the cash price." Uhhhhhhm, I had given them my insurance card at that point, so I was obviously not a cash customer. I asked if they could negotiate on the cost of the visit given the circumstances and was told they couldn't do that. At the end of it all I was essentially told I was a liar because I had successfully negotiated a lower bill with other providers. I will not be returning to this facility. I'd previously given a five star rating to their email requesting a review... The doctor was good, really nice, actually. No complaints there. The reason I will not return is the billing dept. My husband and I both had our cards out to pay the copay and were told we did not need them. I write the review and then later comes a bill. Yes, I forgot about it because it was an extra step and I'm not one of those that mails checks, so yes, it was forgettable. The final straw, however, is this direct quote from the letter I was mailed: "Yet, as you must realize, the expense of furnishing care can only be met by payments from appreciative patients." When I paid, my appreciation for y'all dropped significantly since your billing dept. needs to figure out which insurers will demand copays. Being in a military area, being told "I guess she didn't know you had a copay" is NOT an excuse. A list posted to the wall of which insurers exact copays and actually referencing it would have averted this situation entirely and you would have had a five star review. Instead, you now have a one star review and a patient who will never return. Good job, billing, I sure do hope your doctor knows you are screwing up. read more

This place refused to do my Bloodwork for me because I'm pregnant. I went in knowing exactly what blood tests I needed and called in advance to ensure they did them. Being a Saturday and not in my hometown all the information online this place seemed like a good fit. But once I arrived they refused to see me. Wouldn't recommend, especially if you're pregnant. read more

My college daughter had beginnings of Bronchitis and could not return home to our family physician. She came to the clinic and was prescribed a Z-Pak and something for the cough. She needed the meds to get some much needed rest but when she went to Walgreens two hours later they had not been called in and the clinic was closed. Any one in customer service cringes when someone walks in just before closing time but that is when a real employee steps up and makes sure the customer is taken care of and meds are received. read more

Truckers, this place is NOT for us! This place is a joke!! They boast a half hour wait or a DOT Physical, but this is a big lie. They open at 8am, I arrived at 7:30am and was 6th in line. Took me 5 minutes to fill out forms. Couple of hours go by and I see every one who had come in after me was called in and gone, while I was still waiting to be seen. When I enquired about the wait, I am told that "Oh, your paperwork has not been processed yet, you are not in the system." (Yet, I had been waiting for two hours, had paid them $100.00 dollars and given them my CDL. She said: "it goes by who returns the filled out forms first." Which doesn't make sense, and it does not justify others who came way after me, to got first. Additionally, the two ladies at the front desk spent too much time talking, laughing and not doing their jobs, and the Dr., seem to be amused by them because he made a comment about it and they all cracked up in big loud laughter. Most unprofessional behavior for staff dealing with mostly COVID19 infected people or those requiring testing, who are not feeling well and need peace and quite. I requested a refund and left. Then they call me to see if I wanted to come back!!! I am seeing a real Doctor in a professional office with an appointment. Truckers, don't waste your time here, is like getting lay-over at the shipper/receiver and not getting paid for it!!! read more

We went with our toddler as an emergency injury to her arm/shoulder/wrist. We didn't wait long, and Danielle, the nurse was SO kind to us and our kiddo. She gave her a balloon and stickers which really helped distract her from the pain. And Dr. Mills... What a lifesaver! He made me feel so much better that it was a normal dislocation and he'd have it fixed so soon. They told us to get there by 6 and we showed as fast as we could and arrived at 5:50. We got there and the door was locked and we knocked and someone came and said the doctor had just left and they refused to call him as we held our sick crying fevered child in our arms. I made a trip to AFC last Sunday since it was the closest urgent care to me. The front office receptionists attitude was underwhelming. I went in with flu-like symptoms and the lady who took my vitals didn't even check my temperature (what?!). When the doctor came in, while he was friendly, he didn't once get me on the table to check my ears, throat, lympnodes, abdomen (I had bad cramping), etc. He only guessed at what it could be and offered me different antibiotics, steroids and pain meds. This was the best urgent care experience I have ever had. They were up-front with the costs, they actually helped fill out the necessary paperwork, the wait was short and the care was excellent. The nurse was thorough and caring. The doctor spent time with me to review the issue, the data gathered from the nurse and his own evaluation. He ran additional tests and then came back to review those with me. I felt like they cared about me, were genuinely concerned and engaged in my care and did everything they could to help. And what added the 5th star, was that they called me the next day to follow up. This was the first time I have had a follow up from an urgent care facility. They deserve every star there is!
