The staff was very friendly, the coffee was great, and the croissant was delicious. The atmosphere is also really nice. Since it's located on a university campus, there are a lot of busy students around, but it doesn't take away from the experience at all, you can still relax and enjoy your coffee and food. Visited Temple Coffee Roasters today, while I was in the area walking around. Truth be told, I gave up caffeine for the past three weeks. I won't go into the reasons why, but I wound up forgetting to order my coffee decaffeinated. I wound up ordering a Mexican mocha with almond milk and light whip. I also ordered a veggie scone. Both the barista and the person working the counter were friendly and nice. I LOVED the Mexican mocha. It wasn't too sweet (which I was worried about), didn't need sugar, but was delicious. It had a nice mix of the robust coffee flavor and the richness of the Mexican chocolate. The scone was good. I liked the mix of veggies and cheese. I think it would have been better if it were heated. This cafe is somewhat small. While there is a good amount of seating, it gets pretty packed in here. I'd say my biggest con of this cafe if you're drinking your coffee there are the seats and the lack of electrical outlets to charge your computer. The bar stools are pretty uncomfortable. I really could only sit the stool for about an hour. Since the stools didn't have a backrest, I started getting sore. I'd definitely get coffee here again. read more

Wow, what an awesome coffee shop to stumble upon during our roadtrip! It was packed, but the workers were quick to take orders. I tried the matcha latte and I appreciate being asked if I'd like sweeter or not. The matcha itself was the perfect amount of bitterness and not diluted. The barista's regularly have attitude. It must be apart of the brand culture but I've talked to multiple customers and heard multiple stories of the barista's superiority complex. I had a regular drink there for a while just to order it again and be told it never existed... I'm not sure why gaslighting would be helpful in that situation but it must be a need to be superior. Multiple stories have all pointed back to the same theme of barista's needing to be right .. it's not that serious but maybe the work conditions are toxic and they need this. I've never gotten an order that had an issue with it - in fact, I've always been extremely satisfied with my experience here. The cafe is beautifully furnished with warm tones that really welcome you to stay. There is a gorgeous long wooden table in the middle of the cafe that is perfect for many customers to sit at as well as the seating near the windows and outside. My only two qualms about Temple are that the prices are higher than most other coffee places. You're paying for a nicer cup for coffee for sure. I used to really love this place, and used to really love the coffee too. Unfortunately, the espresso was way too floral for my taste, and the coffee prices have gone way way way up. It wasn't the cleanest when we went, and it was about 15 minutes before closing and the person working had just finished cleaning the bathrooms and didn't let us use the bathrooms even after we had just purchased three coffee drinks and a pastry. That was super annoying.Management, please make sure you tell your employees that if the establishment is open and people have bought things they should be able to use the bathroom, regardless of whether the employee just cleaned it. Very strong cold brew- one of very few places that I have to add a splash of whole milk. But the coffee is excellent and deep. Because I am rarely in this town, I love coming here not just for the cold brew but also to get one of their crazy 1 inch thick chocolate chip cookies, whether I eat it that day or another day in the week, it is perfection! They have so many great baked items. You really can't go wrong. Their almond croissant is excellent as well. This coffee spot is of another level that never existed in the Davis I knew 30 years ago which back then, would've only gotten as good as Café, Roma, or the original Peet's in Berkeley/& kinda maybe when when opened one in Davis. This is "the" place to come to for real Coffee & Teas and baked goods. It's definitely five star level after my many visits now. The staff is very knowledgeable and cheerfully chatty, always a pleasant experience, there is a professionalism to the staff here I rarely see elsewhere. Crowded: Many past times this place is packed with students/staff and laptops- even the outdoors can be full. Weekends. But the line is always moving! If you happen here at daytime class hours you can relax in one of the many stools or chairs and a bit of countertop that is sprawling and relaxed.
