Came here with my coworkers right as this restaurant opened, and I was immediately impressed. The overall quality was phenomenal, which is exactly what you hope for after a long day. I ordered Set 4 for $65, which was a fantastic value. The fish and main items in the set were a huge hit--everything was delicious and well worth the price. We also got a bunch of appetizers, and they were all excellent as well. However, the hamachi kama (yellowtail collar) was the only letdown. I think it was overcooked because it really wasn't fatty as it should be, leaving it a bit dry and underwhelming. Overall, I highly recommend this spot. The high quality of the main sushi/hand rolls (Temaki) and the service were top-notch, making it a great place for a group meal.

Came out of town to visit friends and they recommended coming here for lunch. I'm so glad they did because it was a great experience. The order: we all got the different hand roll sets. I opted for set 4 because why not?! Oh the display is beautiful. Each nori cased in their a wrap for you to pull off when you are ready to eat. All my hand rolls were fantastic but my top 2 favs would be the scallop and seared Wagyu. The seafood was is very fresh. My Wagyu was buttery, and just melts in your mouth. The meal was like a flavor rollercoaster. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely seating holds to their name. All bar stool eating is bar-like facing the center. Super cool feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have an array of displayed alcohol along one side of the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was great. The gal that took care of us that day was very nice, great customer service and attitude. We were well attended. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean restroom for their customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall , would definitely be coming back from some good sushi!

I've been to Temaki Bar twice this year and both times were great experiences. I've realized I'm not a big fan of their plain, unseasoned rolls, but I really enjoy the seasoned ones. My favorites are the spicy truffle salmon, spicy tuna, and scallop rolls. As someone who doesn't eat much, 4 rolls gets me pretty full. The place is definitely on the pricier side, but it's also the only handroll bar in San Jose. The chef was AMAZING and even gave us a cute sticker of the owner's dog! Overall, the service is excellent and the seasoned rolls are amazing!

Temaki Bar was a decent experience for me. Temaki is located in the plaza therefore it is easy to find parking. Upon arrival, it went too packed so we seated immediately in which staff advised us to sit anywhere we'd like. We ordered quite a few things. Keep in mind that this isn't your typical sushi restaurant and is more of a traditional sushi bar. Hits: * Truffle Salmon Carpaccio was really good. The sauce and the salmon go along very well. * Unagi Hand Doll is good. Can never go wrong with Unagi and it's sauce. Average: * Salmon Tartare w/ Taro Chips were decent. The dish included a few pieces of chips and I thought it was okay. Nothing stood out much. * Spicy Scallop Hand Roll was okay. Scallop was fresh. * Sesame Salmon Hand roll was okay. Contained of salmon pieces with sesame seeds. * Wagyu Special roll was okay. The Wagyu piece is good but the uni and caviar overpowers the Wagyu. Miss: * Chicken Karaage was unfortunately a miss. I do believe the dish can be improved by changing the batter. The chicken karaage here is fried very similar to a chicken nugget and isn't like your typical Chicken Karaage. Final Verdict: Solid 4/5. If you're looking for a place that takes the sushi experience seriously, this is it. The service was solid, and everything tasted very fresh. That said, it is on the pricier side. I understand that better quality fish comes with a higher price tag, and I do think they deliver on that front. But in my opinion, some of the rolls are priced a bit too high for what you get. While the ingredients are good, the creativity and portion size of certain rolls didn't quite match the price point for me.

Pretty good hand rolls in the San Jose area! Came here with a friend for some speciality hand rolls and not only do they have a big menu with tons of options, they're price point isn't too bad for the amount of food you can get! I paid almost ~$65 for all that we ordered and it was a lot! We got miso soup, chicken kaarage, and the truffle salmon carpaccio to start and all were sooo good. Do not skip on the truffle salmon! It's so flavorful and delicious. The chicken karaage was also really nicely done. I got to mix and match my hand roll set and my favorites were the salmon, spicy scallop and the jalapeño cream cheese was definitely unique. I would avoid the sesame salmon unless you want a cooked roll but overall pretty standard rolls and a great spot if you're craving sushi.

Such amazing ambience and a very fun experience overall! Temaki bar is nestled in an unassuming plaza and boasts a super fun wraparound bar and wall of different drink options, along with a private room for large parties. It's so fun to watch the chef put together the food behind the bar. He was super quick and made our nine rolls in just a few minutes. Actually unwrapping and eating the rolls was as fun as watching them being made. My favorite was the spicy tuna roll. I loved the happy hour menu. Salmon rolls were only $5, and house salad or soup was free with a $20 purchase! I'll definitely be returning for more.

Watched a lil of the pacers and knicks game while enjoying set 1 rolls. My favorite roll was the truffle salmon roll which I ordered on the side (5/5). I think the salmon roll tasted the better than other fish in set 1. The hamachi and tuna was very average (3/5). Usually I love hamachi but it wasn't giving that day-- I think bc of the temp. It paired well with the microgreens tho. During happy hour, if u order a minimum of $20, u get free miso soup (FIRE!) I wish the carpaccio was served with colder salmon and sliced more evenly. The black tobiko was really good with it since that umami flavor (3.5/5). The uni scallop was very refreshing, I loved it (you should def eat it first, 4.5/5). The Itamae was very friendly and liked making conversation with people at the bar. He gave us stickers at the end. Tip: when pulling apart the plastic, use ur middle finger to hold the rice in place! Not pictured: chicken karage (4/5) and a bottle of sake, Kokken (5/5). Total: $230

Finally a great place for handrolls! Temaki Bar is in a small plaza with other restaurants and small shops. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot, especially in the later hours of the day when the other stores close for the night. The layout here is very similar to those you see in SoCal like KazuNori. It's bar seating on either side of the restaurant with the chefs serving you from the middle. The rolls here are made fresh and right in front of you. I typically go for one of the combos that range from 3-6 rolls. You are able to also swap things in and out of the combos and pay the difference if the replacement is more expensive. I would say that every single one I've tried have been amazing. My favorites are the toro and the seared wagyu, but I would say the salmon belly also deserves a spot. Service is great. Never really had to wait for anything and all of the servers and chefs were really nice. We were able to talk to the owner one of our visits and he seems very passionate about this place. 5/5 definitely would recommend!

Temaki Bar is a pleasant surprise- something you wouldn't expect to find in South San Jose. Temaki Bar specializes in handrolls with a menu stacked with your favorite cuts of sashimi as well as an impressive line up of sake. The interior ambiance quickly outdoes its surrounding area as it is located in an older more run down plaza held down by Pet Club. The interior is modern with warm tones from the natural wood and a sake shelf as a unique touch. The interior features a large island along with bar seating that takes up a majority of the restaurant which is a similar design to the So Cal favorite Kazu Nori. The sets offer different cuts of fish as well as a al carte items you can hand select to ensure you get the fish of your choice. They also offer desserts and various appetizers you can share. The prices here are almost double the prices of Kazu Nori. Here you'll find 4 rolls (3 of which include sashimi while the 4th one does not) to come out to be $30, while at Kazu Nori it would cost $19 and include snow crab. In my opinion, the price is a bit too high for the amount of food you get. My husband and I spent about $87 and were still hungry afterwards. I opted for set 2 with hamachi, salmon, spicy tuna and jalapeno cream cheese. All of the handrolls were great. The sashimi seemed pretty fresh. However I thought each handroll had too much rice, just my preference. The jalapeno was fried and crispy with a nice contrast in texture between the cream cheese. Personally I really like Kazu Nori's seaweed and the way they toast it so its served warm. The seaweed here tastes very average. I really liked that you can enjoy at your own leisure rather than having to scarf down the roll before it gets soggy. The plastic wrapper is a great idea however long term it seems pretty awful for the environment. Service was 10/10. The servers and chefs were friendly and warm. The last rolls took the longest perhaps because they had to fry the ingredients in the back first. Our lunch experience was pleasant however I didn't find the quality to be so exceptional to justify the price or quantity. All in all, this spot is great if you're looking to splurge for handrolls in the South San Jose area.

Greeted immediately upon entry. The layout is interesting. As a short chick, I struggled getting in and out of my chair. The food selection is good but not super unique. The fish was fresh and tasty! We liked the cucumber salads. Separating the plastic from the nori was also a struggle. At other handroll places we've been to we would just get the rolls at a pace that allowed us to eat comfortably and not worry about the nori getting soggy or feeling rushed. The rice kept pulling out as the plastic was being removed and we felt bad about all the plastic waste. The service was friendly and attentive.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]lovely place! The ambiance was super great, you sit in the bar stools and order through a menu with the waiter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They make the rolls right in front of you, giving you a very nice high quality experience. Their fish was super fresh and flavorful. Would definitely recommend this for a date night, or something intimate.

    Melody Y.

Temaki Bar was a pretty meh experience overall. I had high hopes based on all the reviews, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. I usually compare hand roll places to KazuNori in LA -- simple, quality rolls at a great price -- and unfortunately Temaki Bar fell short. We ordered Set 3, and the rolls were just mediocre... the fish quality was just okay, nothing special. Set 3 - Salmon 2/5 - Hokkaido scallop 2/5 - Snow crab 2/5 - Salmon skin 2/5 - Hamachi (instead of spicy tuna) 3/5 We substituted out the spicy tuna for hamachi, added a side of uni, and ordered an extra ama ebi roll. The ama ebi shrimp heads were honestly the best part, which says a lot. Everything else was overpriced and definitely not worth it. Sadly, I won't be returning.

It is a tiny restaurant nestled in between CVS and another business, I forget what. You order through a QR code on the table and all mobile devices ordering from the same table will have their orders consolidated. Beef Udon stir fry is tasty, but as many have said, on the sweeter side. Loooooove the texture and chew of the udon noodles. Very springy, almost like korean rice cakes or gnocchi. Sake chirashi bowl was delicious too. Would be nice if the wasabi was on the side. My daughter loves sashimi but can't handle when the wasabi touches the fish. Too spicy for her. Freshness of the fish is good. It's not the luxury cut of salmon, but the quality is still very worthwhile. Can't go wrong with Cali Roll, sweet potato fries, and spring rolls (fried egg rolls). Kids gobbled them right up. My bestie also ordered a sizzling plate which she finished just as quickly. Definitely RECOMMEND this spot for small get togethers, party of 5 or less. They may not have much in sushi variety, but what they dish up, they serve with pride with modest prices. Cheers to the sweet woman who gave our kids lollipops after their meal. But after weighing the price of the all-you-can-eat vs ordering exactly what we were craving a la carte, we decided to just order off the menu, which was the smart move since it was much less expensive and we ended up full. The place is casual and a little not-fancy decor or ambiance wise. You wouldn't bring anyone here you wanted to impress. . .but the food is what's important, right? The sushi was good! The rolls were large, the options were creative, and everything was tasty and met expectations. I wouldn't say it's elevated sushi, where there are layers to the flavors and you go "wow". But you get your sushi and see the portions are a good size and are happy that you get to dig in and eat satisfying sushi. I'd come back here again, especially for casual sushi where you want good value. Service was good as well - again, nothing fancy or overly attentive, but perfectly adequate for the level of restaurant. Also, it came pretty quickly, which was a plus as well (it wasn't that crowded when we went).

We grabbed the menus ourselves from a nearby table. We originally wanted to try their AYCE, but since the whole table had to participate, and one of us wasn't that hungry, we decided to order a la carte. We're glad we did. The 3 of us were already stuffed after sharing an appetizer and 4 signature rolls. The sweet potato tempura came out piping hot; the batter wasn't too thick. While the dipping sauce lacked flavor, the dish was still ok, and not too oily. We're impressed by the number of signature rolls they offered, and tried to pick something we hadn't seen at other sushi restaurants. My favorite was the lobster tail tempura that came with the Boujee rolls. It was tasty with a light batter. The plating was beautiful. The torched salmon, shrimp tempura and spicy tuna were good as well, but I didn't really see any real crab inside. The Skittles roll was pretty delicious, too. I liked that it had unagi, crab, tobiko, and avocado among other things. The Umami roll also had unagi and carb, but the salmon skin and bonito flakes were what made the roll special. My daughter didn't care for the salmon skin, though. The Black Mamba was interesting if you liked softshell crab. I didn't care for the macadamia nuts, though. Portion size was huge. However, their rolls weren't rolled very tightly nor cut evenly, and their rice was on the sweeter side as other Yelpers had mentioned. Since most of the rolls had similar sauces, they kind of tasted very similar, despite the different ingredients. I wouldn't mind coming back again to try other items on their menu when I'm in the area.

Birthday Fireworks, Family Memories & Elevated Dining at Trifecta…read more My husband and I celebrated our birthdays at Trifecta this year with our children, and it turned into such a memorable evening. Our neighbors first introduced us to this family-owned gem, and one of the things that keeps us coming back is the genuinely warm and personable service. You can truly feel the care they put into both the food and the dining experience. While my son and I aren't huge seafood or sushi eaters, we can absolutely appreciate the artistry behind Trifecta's sushi. Every dish is beautifully presented, thoughtfully crafted, and made with incredibly fresh ingredients and elevated garnishes. We're just admittedly picky eaters who tend to gravitate toward our comfort favorites like chicken or beef teriyaki. The restaurant is usually packed, so reservations are definitely recommended if you don't want a long wait. Surprisingly, this visit was a little quieter than usual, which made for a nice relaxed atmosphere. My husband and daughter were interested in trying the Chef's Tasting Menu, but we learned it's designed as a full-table dining experience where everyone participates -- something we may plan for another visit. The standout dishes of the night were definitely the corn ribs and chicken karaage. The corn ribs disappeared before I could even snap a photo because everyone devoured them immediately! My family also loved the Pork Adobo Ribs special. I'll admit, Trifecta is more of a special occasion restaurant for us. The bill can climb quickly, especially with multiple sushi lovers at the table, but the quality, creativity, service, and overall experience absolutely reflect that higher-end dining experience. This isn't your average weekly sushi spot -- it's a place you go to celebrate. To top off the night, the staff surprised us with dessert decorated with sparkling light-up fireworks, which made our birthday celebration feel extra festive and thoughtful. The only downside of the evening had nothing to do with the restaurant itself -- unfortunately, a couple at a nearby table was quite loud, drunk, and disruptive. Thankfully, the incredible food and attentive staff still made the night feel special overall. Highly recommended for celebrations, date nights, and anyone looking for elevated food paired with exceptional hospitality.
