Karage sandwich , shrimp tempura rice ball , pork ongiri, masubi egg cucumber spam

Really really good food , tried the karragae sandwhich , shrimp tempura rice ball , spam (exceptionally cooked) masubi sandwich with egg and cucumber and the pork ongiri which was really nice tasting. All sauces on everything were adequately spread and portions were more than reasonable. Would come back without a doubt ! Thank you for the service and politeness as well

Found these really hard pieces of plastic in the Yuzu Salmon Onigiri.

I purchased a TooGoodToGo bag from here and found pieces of plastic in the onigiri. I was freaking out thinking they were nail clippings but they're too thick and hard. Could have been pieces of a container.

Love this little spot. Been coming here for years for ramen and glad they now have some quick bites to grab and go. My favorite is the salmon miso onigiri! I also love that they give you a lot of filling/topping compared to rice. Friendly staff too! Highly recommend.

Champ Onigiri is located in Ramen Champ, another gem in South San Jose. Champ Onigiri offers a variety of food items, including onigiri, sandos, and musubi. There is plenty of parking out front and it's right off the 85 near Kaiser San Jose. The onigiri is self-service, and they are only open from 10 am to 2 pm. Since its located inside of Ramen Champ the location feels great and cozy. I'd recommend getting there early, as I've been there closer to 2 and found very little selection. The rice is cooked perfectly. I'd recommend the tuna mayo and spicy tuna, as it's exactly what you would expect from onigiri. The sake and shiso kombu onigiri are another favorite. The sandos are okay, and their spin on spam musubi is good. All the onigiri and musubis have the right amount of rice to ingredient. If you're in the mood for onigiri, this is definitely the spot to grab lunch and go.

This place is my go-to spot!…read more I love the vibe here! It's a smaller restaurant, but it feels really cozy and intimate. I also love that they bring out free miso soup as soon as you're seated. The servers are always super friendly and attentive. Their sushi rolls are sooo good, but lately I've been getting the chicken teriyaki bento box (with tempura & CA roll), and it never disappoints. The portions are huge, so I always leave full and feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

Luckily for us, it was absolutely worth it! We called in for takeout about 15-20 minutes out from the restaurant and everything was ready by the time we arrived. Initial impressions: I was glad that we got takeout lol. There were essentially little to no parking spots and the restaurant was PACKED. Line out the door and an even larger queue inside! It did feel a bit cramped but fortunately I was just in and out. Service was great too! We got the Lion King and a sashimi platter. The lion king was SOOO good. I always get worried ordering this at new sushi spots because I feel like it can be a hit or miss (especially when they load waaay too much spicy mayo on it lol) - this roll had the perfect amount where it wasn't too overpowering. The ingredients tasted fresh too! As for the sashimi platter - every piece was thick and fresh. I'd definitely come back for takeout! Make sure you call ahead of time.

Interior looks same as I remembered, service was also pretty friendly. We ordered a 12 piece sashimi plate, tempura shrimps and a sunshine roll to share. The sashimi plate served with miso soup and salad came with almost 20 pieces, the chef was generous; not only the fish was fresh, he also added some fresh wasabi which really enhanced the flavors. The tempura was ok to me, but hubby enjoyed the crunchy shrimps quite well. The sunshine roll was my least favorite primarily because it's too sweet perhaps just a matter of personal preference. We also received two pieces of complimentary grilled salmon belly, they were fresh, moist, with crispy skin; simply delicious. Very glad that we rediscovered Suro, will be back again soon.

I wanted to come to Suro originally because of their raw octopus, which is a delicacy since it is still moving when you eat it. If I could I would've ordered more rolls because I wasn't full after my meal. Suro is a decent place to go if you want some sushi or are just craving it!
