Came in and got seated right away. Located just outside of the food court in Oakridge Mall. The service was horrible. We ordered a bunch of appetizers a ramen and their garlic rice. The ramen ((the entree) came out first. It came ahead of the appetizers we ordered. Halfway to eating the ramen, the pork buns came. Note: I ordered 2, but 1 came. Then the salmon taco....10 mins later, the tuna taco....then the brussel sprouts tempura. As we were finishing, the garlic rice entree came...and finally, the final pork bun. They were so disorganized. Overall, I have been coming to this place but this has gotta be the worse experience I've had. And the special they have, the ramen...was beyond horrible. Chicken chunks, sprouts and cabbage. The ambiance was that of a small ramen place which was nice, but seating is limited. They have a closed patio, but no fan. They use a mist machine but the bad part was it sprays water on your food.

I don't know why this place is underrated. I have tried their Veg Ramen and they are absolutely delicious. Their impossible gyoza are amazing as well ! Their service is pretty quick and you have ample of seats. I would recommend this ramen place anytime !

Jinya is a ramen spot located on the outside of Oakridge Mall. They have indoor and covered outdoor seating with heaters that is nice and cozy. The service is always solid but it definitely does get quiet busy in there. I have tried a few different dishes but the birria ramen is my favorite.

Got a few apps for the table and I ordered the tonkotsu black ramen for myself. The spicy tuna taco was better than the salmon taco. The gyozas were greasy. The ramen wasn't piping hot when it came out. The ramen was pretty oily. They also aren't a big place so for 6 people we were seated outside and it was pretty hot. They turned the misters on for us to cool down the area. The service was decent.

The ramen was delicious! I had the spicy chicken ramen, and although it was not spicy to me (I have a really high tolerance for spice) it was really good! My boyfriend had the birria ramen, which was also really good, but mine was my favorite! The service was helpful and quick! Multiple staff checked in on us multiple times to see how we were doing!

Ordered a chicken wonton soup via DoorDash. I was hesitant to, but I needed something warm and soup-y because I was feeling sick. This spot provided the quickest delivery. Pros: they labeled the containers...and the food was made quickly. Cons: The broth was WAY too salty, I almost considered diluting it with water. I didn't finish everything, just felt full of regrets. Never again.

What a disappointing spot for ramen! With how many good ramen spots there are in the Bay Area it's astonishing how places like this stay in business! We came by on a Friday night at 8pm and got seated at one of those big tables shared with other parties. All the other four-seaters were empty and we asked to sit at one, but they said those were reserved for the "dinner rush". Bruh it's already 8pm and the joint and mall were pretty empty. By the time we left, it was still empty and no one had sat there... We ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen and Flying Vegan Harvest. Spicy Chicken Ramen (1/5): This was a pretty sad chicken ramen. The broth had no depth of flavor and tasted like watered-down chicken broth, and was lukewarm not even hot! The noodles were thin and limp, and the dish only comes with two small slices of unseasoned chicken breast. For almost $20 this was a slap to the face! Flying Vegan Ramen (3/5): I like how they have a decent selection of vegan ramens and this one was pretty flavorful with fresh veggies! Not amazing but passable. Overall, vegan ramens are ok but would definitely not come here for the chicken ramen. Also if you're a party of two you might have to awkwardly sit at a big table across from other parties.

Pretty average probably around a ~2.5/5 rounded up. Premium Tonkatsu Red (Lv 6 spice) ~2.5/5 - First, the spice is pretty weak, level 6 is basically if you ate two bags of hot cheetos. Unfortunate that going up in spice costs $1 since the ramen itself is already expensive at $20 for what you get. Next, there's just so little in this bowl that I frankly don't think it's even close to being worth $20. Anyone who has been to Ramen Nagi knows their $16 ramen probably can fill you up 2x better while being 2x more flavorful. Thick noodles were a let down, it's hard to explain but while they had an initial bite to them, they were overall more soggy than chewy, also very unfortunate. Rice bowls look pretty sad/plain if ignoring the nice dishes they bring it out in. Menu(s) provided at the front/door - completely useless. What is the point of having non-location specific menus that state "Menu prices vary by location" at the front. Like... I'm literally in one of your locations, why is it not priced out already? Customer service is the only reason they're above 2 realistically. The hostess and waiters are friendly and check in with you often.

This was a last-minute decision, and I'm so glad we came. We were seated right away. We absolutely loved the ramen. My husband ordered the beef birria ramen, and it truly felt like Mexico in a bowl of noodles--bold, comforting, and full of flavor. He loved it. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen at level five, which was perfect. Next time, I'll probably push it to level six or seven because it was that good. Even the kids finished their meals, which says a lot. Everything was delicious, and the experience exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place.

Nice looking restaurant in a nice area, but the foods do not live up with the expectations. The restaurant is located in the outside of the mall so parkings could be hard to find sometimes. But they should all be free parkings. The servers were quick to sit us down and took our orders. The menu was pretty self-explanatory with some pictures to guide you. We got 2 mocktails. We thought the matcha lychee drink was decent, definitely missing flavor of matcha but good enough to keep you hydrated during the meals. We didn't care about the other one since it's forgettable and not good. We got their original tonkosu 2010, which was so salty. At least they didn't mess up the meats and portion was ok. I personally got their rice bowl and chicken and it turned out to be so dry and flavorless. No soups, no moist, no drops of water were in this bowl of rice. But at least the portion was ok. Would not come back to this beautiful restaurant, simply because of their foods were not good and there are other options nearby that you can try out.

Been wanting to try this spot, actually came here on a Wednesday for a surprise birthday dinner with a group of 8. We ordered the gyoza, crispy chicken, and Jinya buns for appetizers to share. Honestly, the crispy fried chicken was probably the best thing I had all night. I was craving a mixed drink, but apparently they only offer cocktails at certain locations, which was disappointing. I settled for the Matcha Lychee Lemonade mocktail and that was actually really good. For ramen, I ordered the Jinya Tonkotsu Black, and it barely had any broth. It was honestly underwhelming for the price. The ramen overall was extremely mid. Service was okay. Our server was nice but kind of awkward. My boyfriend asked, "What sake do you recommend?" and he said, "I don't drink, but it's been cold lately so I get this one," and pointed to a sake on the menu. We looked at each other like... wait, I thought you don't drink? Not sure if he was trying to upsell us, but he didn't convince us otherwise lol. Overall, it was just okay. For that price point, we probably should've gone next door to Mumu Hotpot instead.

A good ramen spot to get your fix. I personally like the thick noodles. I like the chewiness. Broth was solid. Servers are nice. Apps are definitely overpriced for the amount and taste. Salmon sushi- too much rice to fish ratio, sauce wasn't giving much. Eggplant was good- but it's just eggplant. Nothing special. Fresh-ish garlic available! Ask your waiter.

I've been going here since they opened at Oakridge. I've never been disappointed by their food and service. This visit was no exception. I'm glad they're still serving up good comfort food. I tried the Ciao Ramen, which I found interesting. The Italian fusion ramen with tomato added to the broth was delicious. It might be for everyone, but I thought the flavors were good and the pieces of tart cherry tomatoes helped provide balance. I also tried the Aburi Oshi-Sushi Salmon, which was also good. I removed the slices of jalapenos because I didn't want the spice.

On a scale of 1-10 how spicy is the spicy chicken ramen and the spicy creamy vegan ramen?

I would say the spicy creamy vegan is a 6, maybe 7. You can ask for no chili oil though!

Do they take reservations for parties of 10 or more?

To my understanding they don't take reservation.

Will they be open on Memorial Day?

    Yes

Is the vegan ramen noodle the same kind of noodle as the other dishes?

Yes! It's the same "thick" noodle as the other non-vegan ramen. The other vegetarian ramen has the thin noodle.

Does this location not have those delicious fried crispy shrimp balls with cheese in middle I had it at the Houston location and loved it?

Yes, under the "small plates" section is something called the Crispy Shrimp Balls, but it says the filling is cream cheese.

My tonkotsu broth was a bit sour. Is that normal at JINYA?

    No it's not

Will there be better outside/exterior shade? It's too hot to sit in the sun when it's getting sunny and it'll get worse in the summer. Please fix this!

Outdoor shade is really nice especially on a hot summer day. I think Jinya have good shades already but I think it's just for the rain.

Why do you charge for hot tea?

    Because you ordered it.

The crab was very fresh and each crostini had a large portion of crab on top. The Brussels sprouts were very crispy and very umami with the cheese and bacon combination mixed in. The empanada was honestly a showstopper. I don't know how to describe it other than you have to try it. Both pastas were good but I prefer the mushroom one over the short rib ragu. The halibut was also good, and the basil sauce made it even better. I was already super impressed with everything but I think the stars were the 2 desserts. The Dubai cheesecake was an Italian style cheesecake, so it was a lot lighter than I was expecting (which was welcomed) and captured the essence of Dubai chocolate without being too overwhelming. The Lira in Wonderland was also SO good. It had a crown of cotton candy and was a mix of biscoff cookies, dehydrated red velvet cake (don't knock it till you try it), butterscotch sauce, and strawberries. We dined at Lira on November 14th. The Service (or Lack Thereof): The Menu Shortage: We arrived for our 6:45 PM reservation only to be told by the manager that they didn't have enough menus. We were told they'd bring them "later." Ignored for 35+ Minutes: We sat with nothing but water for over half an hour. To make matters worse, a table of six was seated after us and received their full entrees while we were completely ignored. The Drink Mess: After 40 minutes, the server told me they were out of ingredients for my drink. When I picked a second option, she tried to insist I wanted a drink with celery (my most despised vegetable). We thankfully stopped her before it was made, but the incompetence was staggering. The Food Fiasco: An hour into our reservation, someone dropped off a scallop dish. A while later, a server asked if I'd "received the scallops yet," and I realized the plate I was eating wasn't even intended for our table. We were so starving that my husband and I just shared them. Once we finished, the server finally asked my husband if he "still wanted his meal or if he wanted to cancel it." I finally lost my cool - of course he still wanted his dinner! The Aftermath: My husband didn't realize that my friends had actually made a separate reservation to take me back to this same spot the following night for a second birthday celebration. After this performance, there was no way I was going to step foot in this building again or give them another cent of our money. I texted my friends from the table to cancel those reservations and book elsewhere. With service this disorganized and insulting, this restaurant won't be in business long. Super disappointing. Don't waste your special occasions here. *Edit - it looks like Lira has closed. With the service we experienced, I am not surprised in the slightest. I am hopeful that whichever future business occupies this space is more successful.
