We wanted poke for lunch and decided to try Poke Bowl. We were warmly greeted when we walked in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't busy inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We both ordered the large bowl which came with 4 scoops of protein. I chose the ahi tuna, spicy tuna and 2 scoops of shrimp. My husband got 2 scoops of salmon and 2 scoops of ahi tuna. I really liked the variety of proteins and toppings. Everything looked so fresh. Avocado and masago were included in the toppings that came with the bowl. So it was nice not having to pay extra for those toppings. I also liked the two sauces that were putting the very top. They were a miso sauce and spicy sauce. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We decided to eat on their patio on the side of the store. It was a really nice day to eat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We both enjoyed our bowls. We will definitely be back.

Food is great! Lots of options and price was what you'd expect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]That said, the vibe of the place threw me a little.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ordered pick up and when we went in, it was just straight up empty. Like, for a while.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was loud hip-hop playing, which is fine I guess but I didn't know how to call someone (I literally tried to call in my cell but that didn't work because it went straight to voicemail), so after several minutes, I just shouted "excuse me" over the music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It sounded like they were having a party in the back or something because everybody seemed like they were having a good time, but they also seemed totally oblivious to the fact that there were customers. They came out, gave me the food, and I left. Maybe stick to delivery if you want their food.

I've been getting poke at Poki bowl for years and I think I've tried all the other locations but this location is my favorite. The staff there are incredibly nice and efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They keep the store very clean too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The proteins and toppings are always fresh! Love that they provide sushi rice as well, the rice doesn't get hard and dry when you refrigerate it afterwards.

Regular Poki Bowl ($20, 4.25/5 stars)

Poki Bowl is an OG fave, and this is the very first location! Best quality of all the locations, and my bowls are fortunately loaded here. With new poke spots having more variety for the cost, I really don't come here often. However, I do genuinely enjoy their sesame oil based sauce and will fork up the $20 for a regular (used to be $11!) if I'm craving the nostalgic taste and want avocado "included". REGULAR POKI BOWL: 4.25/5 (~$20) + My order: all salmon, spicy, topped with spicy mayo + Hot take, but I really do like the "sauce" here. I think it's some blend of sesame oil and chili oil + Cucumbers and onions are cut just right, not too thin or thick. Appreciate that it's mixed in with the fish + Never had issues with quality or taste at Almaden!

I forgot why I don't order from here and today I reminded myself by accident. I was in the mood for Poki bowl and was comparing pricing between this location and another Poki spot, and this one beat out the other one on price. Once my food arrived, I immediately remembered why I don't order from this place though, their portion sizes are much smaller compared to other places, Especially for what you pay. For another three dollars I could've gotten the same bowl style from another Poki spot and it would've been full to the brim and smashed up against the lid of the bowl. I'm all about saving money, but only when it makes sense. For this spot, it doesn't make sense to get so little for what you pay when you can get a third more for a few dollars more elsewhere. The food itself tastes very good, there's nothing wrong with the quality of it at all, I am just not a fan of paying almost the same amount as other local Poki establishments for far less food.

this place was good! portion is good, fish is fresh, and lots of toppings included. however, it was pretty pricy! [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's also quite disorganized and a little backrooms-esque, but seems to be a local fav![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] service was friendly which is always nice :)

Stopped here on our way out of town roughly 40 minutes before they closed. I've never ordered poke so it was new for me. Similar concept to Chipotle. They were out of white rice and since they were closing in less than an hour and they weren't making anymore which was fine with us and the police officer who was in line behind us. We got 2 regular bowls which totaled out to $37. A bit pricey but really tasty! The regular bowl you get 3 scoops of fish for protein. My picks were spicy tuna, ahi, and shrimp. Next you pick veggies. I had both the onions and cucumbers. Next is your sauce. Then toppings. I ordered all the toppings on mine, minus the seaweed salad and edamame since it costs extra. It was all quite flavorful for my first poke bowl experience. We were extremely satisfied!

They tip on total, which includes tax!! Tip should b on subtotal ‍

Will never come here again. This is NOT even close to hawaiian Poke. I saw the 4 star rating and wanted poke but was too lazy to drive to Aloha Fresh. What a huge mistake!! $17.25 for 3 small scoops??? The fish was warm and lacked flavor. They put so much sauce on it, there was a pool of it at the bottom of the bowl. If u need that much sauce, then ur definitely hiding something, like the fish was frozen for days. Yes, u get avocado, crab salad included but still. To top it off, they tip on total amount. Typically the tip is added to pre-tax amounts. ‍ can't believe they do this but I guess greed trumps food quality(See pic of receipt)

The food was so good so fresh, so authentic, the service was kind, friendly fast and giving the ambience was calm and peaceful. I'll definitely come back over and over and over again.

I'm not a poke expert, but I'll still give this place a 4 stars. I'm not a fan of raw fish, so yes I know I don't have the full rights to give this place a review. Lol. I been here a few times and usually get a regular bowl. It comes with 3 scoops of protein, so I just get 2 or 3 scoops of shrimp, but sometimes I feel adventurous and will get a scoop of tuna. I mean once I mix everything I kind of forget I'm eating tuna. But yeah, it includes your choice of topping and I usually get the free cucumber, onions, crab meat, avocado (1st scoop free!), green onions, sesame seed and their spicy sauce. Why is avocado free but edamame is extra? :( Also, why is there no tofu as protein option? I been to some other poke place and they have tofu as an option (I know it's a weird request). I wish there was a different price for just a shrimp bowl since I know shrimp is probably cheaper than their raw fish choice. Maybe even a no protein option aka veggies only?? Or even a kid's bowl with just crab meat sounds good to me. Sorry, I'm picky but there's other poke places with a kid's bowl and that's perfect for people like me cause I'm weird. Lol. Overall, I guess it's a decent place for poke bowl, but my review is sort of skewed since I have only tried the shrimp and tuna. It's very filling but sort of expensive for me since I'm not getting the fancy kind of fish/poke.

It appears I am long overdue for an update on Poki Bowl on Almaden Expressway. I have no idea how many times I've been here since my last review, but it is one of my go-to spots. I'm a creature of habit and always get the regular poke bowl w/sushi rice, cucumber, easy onion, 2 scoops of salmon & 1 scoop of ahi (or I may get all salmon), non-spicy sauce, avocado, crab salad, green onion, masago, miso, and furikake. Thanks for having consistently good quality and fast service, Poki Bowl.

I had spoken with the owner at the time--who was very kind--and based on that interaction, I chose to take my earlier review down. Unfortunately, this experience left me just as disappointed as before. I placed an order through DoorDash and received it about 45 minutes later, which I understood since the app noted they were busier than usual. No issue there. The problem started when I checked the receipt on the sealed bag--it had my name and all the correct ingredients listed. However, when I opened it (and it was clearly still sealed, so not a driver issue), it turned out to be someone else's order entirely, with completely different items. This is very similar to my previous experience, where part of my order was missing altogether. At this point, it's hard to justify giving them another chance. It's especially frustrating because the food itself has been great when it's correct. Issues like this point to a lack of quality control, whether that's from insufficient training or not taking enough care when preparing orders. Poke isn't cheap, so when mistakes like this happen--especially more than once--it's incredibly disappointing. Sadly, this will likely be the last time I order from here.

Price is pretty steep for something like this. The owner or person taking our order seemed like a confident or very straight forward / strong type personality, which I'm fine with because I naturally have a bit of a strong personality as well so it didn't bother me, although it would've been better if he smiled or something so it doesn't seem like he's coming off like a New Yorker. Just sayin. But I also know that he's simply doing his job so it's nothing personal. Anyhow, the food he talked a good game on it being the best in the Bay Area turned out to be quite mid IMPO. The shrimp was 100% overcooked, the side Mac salad was actually *not* good at all and it sucks because that's something I feel like you can't mess up but it was gross unfortunately, I spat it out even tho I hate wasting food. It just didn't taste freshly made whatsoever. The poke bowl wasn't comparable to Hawaii since he mentioned it's just as good... but honestly I think everyone's taste buds are different because to me, the poke bowl was totally mid, but it could taste really good to someone else and that's certainly OK! Also -- I like salty things esp when I crave for it but this was quite heavy on the salt, which made my experience the way it was. Even though it could've been better, I came with no expectations and just wanted to see what the fuss was about. That said, the only thing that was good was the rice cracker snack we bought and that's it. Glad I still gave this place a try, but personally for me, it's definitely my last visit. Maybe I'll come back at an earlier time to get one of their strawberry mochi but other than that, I think I'll rest my case here.

I got the last of the soba noodles, so I was surprised that even though it was closing, she went into the back to get me more soba noodles even though it seemed like the amount she had given me was enough. they also allowed however many sauces you wanted to marinate the fish in. I wasn't sure what I was expecting for the soba noodles, but I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it. the sauces from the marinade seeped into the noodles gave it a nice light flavor. the fish was fresh and chicharrones were such a good contrast with the crunch (im a huge textures girl). I was able to eat half and and save the other half for lunch the next day. because I got soba noodles, I did not have to worry about heating up rice and separating the fish, so it was perfect.
