Tekosu is such an adorable, quiet cafe! So perfect for studying or a nice catch-up session. There's plenty of seating and outlets available. Street parking is available, but it wasn't too much of a struggle to find a spot. I came in not knowing what I wanted to try. The barista taking my order was so sweet and patient as she helped me figure out what to get. With her help, I decided on their matcha latte with sweet cream top. So glad I did! Tekosu is officially my new favorite coffee spot! It's super convenient--about 7 minutes from my work--so it's the perfect stop to grab a drink before heading in. I tried it for the first time recently and ended up going back four more times that same week... that's how good it is. The drinks are incredible. I had the Biscoff latte and Gula Aren Latte, and they were amazing--you can actually taste every component, especially the espresso, which I love. They only offer one size, but it's honestly the perfect amount. The space itself is beautiful, with a clean black-and-white aesthetic and tons of natural light that makes it feel really calm and inviting. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. We tried the double matcha latte and the yuzu espresso tonic. Both drinks were good, and I personally altered the yuzu espresso to be less sweet. They mentioned the yuzu flavor would be diluted and overpowered by the espresso but I actually enjoyed the stronger coffee flavor and I thought the yuzu was still very prevalent. New coffee shop that just opened up on Thanksgiving! Located in Arcadia, around the block from 24 Hour Fitness. Shop is decently sized with a good number of tables inside as well as some outside, perfect for catching up with a friend or studying. I believe you can park at the nearby Metro parking lot or the gym parking, but there's a ton of street parking. Menu has a good selection of items - from coffees, teas, pour overs to specialty drinks. They even have an extensive food menu of salads, snacks, and bakery/toast options. Pricing is pretty average for most coffee shops. About $6-7 per drink. I ordered the matcha sweet cream top $7.50 - iced with 50% sugar and less ice. I really liked this drink! Cream on top is quite sweet, so it complimented the matcha. Cream almost tasted like a sweet vanilla ice cream. The matcha could have been a tad more strong, but I would definitely come back and get this again. I love Biscoff, so seeing their creamy Biscoff latte $7 - I was excited to try it. Made with espresso, Biscoff sauce, milk, sweet cream on top and some cookie crumble. Ordered this at 75% sugar and I think that was a perfect amount of sugar. The cream and espresso complement each other. And ordered the Gula Aren late $7 (gula aren is palm sugar in Indonesia). We tried this several hours later and it was still really good. Even the next day, my sister didn't stop raving about the drink. Only point was it could have been a bit stronger. My friends also tried the strawberry matcha latte, yuzu espresso tonic and cold brew. Think the consensus was the cold brew was just okay but the yuzu espresso tonic wasn't bad. And strawberry matcha latte was good after it was mixed together. She also ordered the smoked salmon cado toast ($15.50), which she said was pretty good. Today was their soft opening, so I wasn't expecting too much, but it seems like they have a good handle on things! Still going through some training, but I enjoyed my visit and will be returning! Most often, I can pretty much tell when entering a coffee shop whether or not I'm going to enjoy my beverage. I knew right away this would experience would exceed my expectations. I was delighted by the simple, yet pleasant atmosphere, the fact that the cafe was bright and inviting, and the smiles on the baristas faces when I walked in. The coffee, superb! The staff were so sweet ! The matcha is really good not bitter at all, it's very refreshing and rich at the same time! I've been back multiple times since I found this place last week! The drinks are consistently a hit and I find the matcha to be a great quality. And the smoked salmon cado toast is good too. I like to get my matcha 50% so with a cream top its perfectly balanced! It's very clean and airy looking inside. There's indoor seating with plenty of outlets so its a great place to work, study, or to just sit and chat. There's also outdoor seating along the side of the building in the shade. My second time trying the drinks here and I will say it's a solid 4/5! I really enjoyed the Gula Aren Latte! The first time I ordered it, I found it to be a tad too sweet, so the second time I ordered it with an extra shot of espresso (additional $1.50) which came out to $8.50 which is very steep for coffee in my humble opinion, but it was delicious. Try to find street parking or park in the outside lot by the US Postal Office! Depending on the time, the parking structure that is shared with 24 Hour Fitness is always packed and I wouldn't bother parking on the upper floors because going down the enclosed stairway is ATROCIOUS! Smoked salmon was lightly salted, perfectly balanced with onions and avocado. The cheese was a nice touch, but you won't notice it too much. The toast was sourdough and it was nicely toasted. We were given utensils, but I ended up only using my fork to eat the toast. It was a little difficult to cut the edge of the sourdough. It's crispy on its outside and crispy and a bit soft on the inside. Overall, I really enjoyed everything and would definitely come back to try other items. read more
