They don't do many things but what they do they do well. I'm a big fan of their breakfast burritos, which are a really good size at a really good price. Their Menudo is pretty good too. I've never tried the brisket here but everything else I have tried has been really good. The staff are always nice and whenever I call in an order it's always ready within 10 minutes or so. I have never eaten at the restaurant (I usually just order food to go) but it's a pretty small restaurant with maybe 10 tables or so. It kind of has a very laid-back/casual/dive vibe; I dig it. Affordable and tasty. I was looking for the Mexican breakfast restaurant Friday morning and I was around Medical city. There were a couple of other restaurants, but I decided to visit here because of the good review. The restaurant itself was small and all tables/chairs were not available because of the Covid 19. On the front door, I found the notification "no mask, no service" and I like that since there are so many restaurants who don't care about the safety protocol. Inside the restaurant, as you see on the menu, they have many options about burritos and tacos, also others. I chose a burrito and 3 tacos, all of them are tasty. The reason of the stars is 1). I wanted less oily in the burrito , they have eggs and chorrizo (I picked), but egg was somehow a bit oily. 2). The shell (flower) of tacos were dried up and got hardened. Observations: Brisket: Co-workers and I all found it to be on the dry side and the bark barely had any flavor. We were craving stuffed baked potatoes for dinner, and got on Yelp to find if there were any options besides a chain restaurant potato like Dickey's. I saw the brisket potato on this page and immediately knew this was the place to be -- except I don't ear beef. According to the photos on here, the only meat option for the potato is brisket. I thought about heading to the more boring option, but decided to check to see if they'd accommodate me. They were nothing but nice about it, and advised they could also do sausage or chicken. I went with chicken and we took our potatoes to go. They were massive and delicious. Butter pooled up in the bottom of the take out container, but the potato was still firm and fresh. They pack the bbq sauce in containers and then in shrink wrap to minimize spillage which I thought was GENIUS. The food is inexpensive and tastes awesome. I am excited to go back and eat a meal inside. Definitely check this place out. read more

Came in here for a quick lunch with a friend who has been here before. They have really affordable and reasonably priced meals and their taste is nothing short of amazing. It's an authentic Mexican cuisine place that specializes in tacos and quesadillas. I tried their chicken quesadillas and they taste so cheesy and good. They give you the option for red and green salsa with your meal and I tried their red salsa which was perfect because it is just slightly spicy. First time here, I got the brisket stuffed potato and one brisket taco. Small restaurant with uncomfortably chilly AC. Friendly and knowledgeable cashier. Potato: humongous with lots of meat. BUT the meat isn't seasoned and not the most tender. It's a good, filling meal for $7 but be ready to doctor it up with salt, pepper, and bbq sauce. Taco: meat also not seasoned. Ok how have I gone to UTD for five years and NEVER heard of this place??? It is a college kid's dream! Authentic tacos AND barbecue??? My boyfriend and I went after finding this place on Yelp and we're officially obsessed with it. It's a small hole in the wall place, but the staff was kind and everything looked clean. When I asked for a cup for water (trying to save money), the employee just offered me a free water bottle instead, saying that "the tap water here isn't that good." I really appreciated his generosity! I ordered the steak quesadilla and WOAH BABY! It was huge! There was tons of perfectly grilled steak and melty cheese filling up the massive quesadilla. I could only eat half and had enough for a second meal. All for under $7! My boyfriend got the brisket baked potato with BBQ sauce on the side and might have actually fallen in love with it. The brisket was tasty, tender, and piled high on a wonderful baked potato with cheese and butter. Hands down my favorite place for tacos in Dallas. Actually It's THE place I compare everything to, from meat to salsas, whether it's from Dallas or out of town. The barbacoa meat is not the usual stringy shredded beef , but it is this special meat they have that is pulled out by the slab and chopped up to order. It is incredibly moist and tasty, but very very rarely is it a tad too fatty. The habanero hot sauce is amazing. Decent flavor, but the heat is perfect. I actually like to mix the tomatillo and habanero together for a nice balance of flavor and heat. I haven't had too much of the BBQ YET, but I have ordered the BBQ potato and it is huge. Top it with your choice of meat and fixings. I opt to have no BBQ sauce and just drown it in salsa instead. Delicious and super filling. read more

The breakfast tacos are worth mentioning since one taco (more like a burrito is humongous and smells delicious with the egg tucked inside. The other things are the menu are so-so. The meat on the tacos and burritos are pretty try and not super tasty. I love myself some Al Pastor and its always my baseline for new places, but the Al Pastor in my burrito was dry and not very seasoned for me. Tejano is pretty much how it sounds.. bbq plus mexican food. I read some reviews about this and pretty much it was a go. I notice they have mexican coke, which I heard was illegal? Anyways I ordered the taco plate which comes with three tacos, rice and your choice of beans. For the tacos I got corn with fajita, brisket and al pastor. My favorite was the fajita because it had a taste similar to Korean ribs. The other two were either dry or wasn't as good. As for the beans I got the charro beans, which is beans with jalapeno, bacon and etc. The plate doesn't come with a drink and the price is $7. They also have agua fresca but only two choices. For my overall experience it was pretty alright. I wasn't really expecting much and wasn't disappointed either. But I don't think I would come here often because I have other places in mind for my tacos. read more

I am so happy I found this place because the food is exceptional and the location is great (only a few minutes away from my weekend job). I always get the brisket tacos here. Meat is sooooooooooooooo juicy and salsa is very good too. I like my tacos simple: tortilla, meat, some onions, some cilantro, and lime juice. That's it. No cheese. No lettuce. None of that white taco nonsense! Come here if you're originally from Los Angeles/San Diego or any other city where simple tacos are served. I think I've just found my new favorite breakfast burrito place! Great value ($2.99 and has lots of meat (see my photos)) and their salsa verde was excellent! Small little hole in the wall (but aren't holes in the wall the best anyway?) that is worth going the extra distance to get to... This is my third visit and the only reason they still have 2 stars instead of 1 is because the fajita was good and the salsas and beans are good. I don't know what the heck was in the barbacoa! I bit into something with a weird texture and spit is in the trash. I started fishing through the meat and there was stuff in there that I'd never seen before. Some kind of organ I can't describe...see pics. Then the pastor was dry and hard. Don't let the grease fool u in the pic, it was inedible. Finally the rice is bland. Brisket Baked Potato is amazing!! Yes, the title is correct, the huge brisket baked potato was the reason I visited this place. Every picture I saw just made me even more hungry to try it out. A buttery baked potato topped with sour cream, cheddar cheese and delicious chopped brisket! So good. I ordered three fajita tacos on the side just to try out the other items on the menu and they were just as good. All of their food looks really good and the two that I tried definitely confirms that. The restaurant is decent size and the prices are good. The staff is friendly and helpful. I didn't have to wait that long for my food and they are good about their presentation. Disappointing for sure. Based on all the reviews, I was expecting better. The corn tortillas tasted as if they grabbed it straight from a package. they didnt fry it or toast it in any way. The pastor and fajita meat were OK, but they had no real character. The pastor definitely had a pineapple flavor, but thats it. The barbacoa was moist and stood out the most, but still lacked real flavor. They make quesadillas that are textbook ideal, but still lack bold flavor. Their green sauce was pretty good though. After my fourth visit, I think I've found my go-to-near-work taqueria! After 'missing' this spot for a long time based on the title (vs. looking for tacos), I was fortunate to have found it! While the primary menu is BBQ and related items (brisket sandwiches, and the like) the hand-written taco menu (on wall behind register) offers up option. For a superbly reasonable $1.39 (corn) each, it's a great opportunity to mix and match your favorites. My favorites include the birria, barbacoa and al pastor. On my first visit, I tried out the chicken, but it was a tad on the dry side. Four tacos is a good meal (all for just over $6, fountain water).
