Great cantina style vibe, great attentive service & meet with a smile as soon as we walked in, been here twice recently. Food was fresh hot and tasted great as always. Looking forward to coming back soon. If you're in the Plano area, stop in and enjoy a great meal at a good price.

It's been a while since we've been to this restaurant. My new husband and I dated back in the 90's and frequented Ojeda's in their old location frequently. So lots of memories. We were seated quickly and our waiter was fabulous. We ordered the queso but it didn't quite have the kick we wanted so we added some salsa and that did it! Fajitas were hot and fresh and had a good flavor. The restaurant is smaller but still has the same ambiance as the old days. Good night with our old memories.

Our group came in to eat Mex and or Texmex for dinner. The service was good even with the language barrier. The inside was decorated with Mexican paintings and mask. My puff taco and burrito were good. The tv 's and Mexican music added to the ambiance.I recommend if looking for good Mexican in Plano.

By virtue of my native Texan status,I'm always on the look for a sloppy good plate of satisfying Tex Mex. Ive been driving past this location for years and decided, today's the day. I've eaten at a couple of their other locations and the original is not far from where I grew up. I would characterize their cooking along the lines of Texas Hispanic home cooking. Not quite the Tex Mex I'm searching for but good in it's own way The beef enchiladas are tender and flavorful. On a chilly Texas evening it went down as comfort food which is ok with me. Prices are right and service respectable. If you haven't been may I suggest you... Go!

When my husband and I want Mexican food, Ojeda's is the first place we think of. We have never been disappointed here, and our favorite meal is the soft cheese taco. Having said that, tonight we had the fajitas, so sorry, no pictures of the soft cheese taco on this review. The wait staff is very attentive and always genuinely nice when we eat here.

The only reason I am giving 5 Stats is because I cannot give 7 Stars! This place is true TEX-Mex! Fantastic food - good prices and great service. Hurry! Get over here!

Haven't been to an Ojedas in many years. We were surprised to find one close to us, so we jumped at the first chance we had to go. First off, we got there a bit early, so it wasn't yet busy, though it got busier by the time we were leaving. The enchiladas were so good, and the tortillas they cc were wrapped in were very soft. Great flavor. I think I detected a hint of cinnamon, which is very traditional in Mexican cuisine. Also the puffy taco was stuffed absolutely full. Delicious! The service was quick and very much on point. The only minor negative is that I would have liked the food to be a bit hotter temperature wise. Otherwise it was a very pleasant experience. We x will be back I'm sure.

We returned to Ojeda's on Park &Coit tonight for their Wednesday night special. I'm not sure what they did but the enchiladas were awesome tonight. The gravy seemed a little different. More flavor than usual to us. Our waiter was also very good. I definitely recommend Ojeda's.

My boyfriend loves this spot in Desoto and we found one in Plano and decided to give it a try. I absolutely love the GUISO DE RES which is the Mexican style beef stew, rice and beans. Also their menu says it's gluten free if that matters to you. There was a large amount of beef in there which was soft and savory. I love it so much! Will definitely be coming back again.

Great, locally owned restaurant. These are undoubtedly the friendliest staff anywhere. We drove past this place for years not realizing it was even there (as it's in the corner of a predominantly Asian shopping center. Boy, do we feel like we missed out by not finding the earlier. The food is super fresh, and there is always more than enough. One thing we love is that their apps come in even numbers. So many places portion their apps in odd numbers, and that's always a juggle with the last piece. Not here! We can split everything evenly. Anyway, the salsa is amazing as well as are their drink specials, so find your way over to Ojeda's and dine locally!

3 stars = okay 4 stars = good That's how Yelp sees it. So, four stars it is. I decided I had to have some old school Tex-Mex while visiting Dallas. Tex-Mex was born in Texas aftertall, and I grew up with it. When it's done right, it's delicious. And Ojedas has been doing it right for years. I've visited the original Maple Ave location many times, and since Ojeda had a Plano location nearby where I was staying, it was a natural choice. And a good one. This is Tex-Mex. Great cheese enchiladas, beans that can't be beat (so much better than most re-fried beans out there), and good rice. And the "new" added touch of some fajita meat on top of the enchiladas. And that enchilada sauce--wow! Ojeda's know Tex-Mex.

Interiors has not been updated in many years. Food tends to be "tired" and not modern. Service is usually prompt.

Mena's Tex-Mex Grill Cantina - Table side guacamole

We are regulars here at Mena's, for 15 years Let me just…read moresay we have NEVER had cold food, it's always piping hot. And the margaritas are strong and well priced, we have eaten at other mexican food establishments and they charge $18 for sweet lime-aid. We usually ask for Eric since he's our favorite! Table-side guacamole is a Yum, as anything with brisket. The beef fajitas are the most tender we have ever tasted. If you like spicy salsa, ask for the Verde salsa. Menas you make our tastebuds dance!!!

This was my second time visiting Mena's Grill, but my first time dining in and sitting at the bar…read more Customer service was excellent -- truly a 5 out of 5. The bartender was attentive, kind, and professional. The atmosphere felt welcoming, and you can tell they have loyal regulars, which always speaks well of a restaurant. The staff overall seemed consistent and friendly. Now for the food. I ordered the queso to start. The flavor was good, but it wasn't hot -- more lukewarm than fresh-out-the-kitchen warm. For my entrée, I had the skirt steak with beans, pico de gallo, enchilada, and rice. The flavors were solid, but again, the plate came out lukewarm. For a Tex-Mex spot, temperature really matters. I don't need it piping hot, but I do expect my food to feel freshly made and properly heated when it arrives. That was my only disappointment. I've ordered carryout before without issue, and because the service and vibe are strong, I will definitely be back to give it another try. I just hope next time the food comes out hot and fresh. Overall: great service, good flavors, strong local energy -- just room for improvement on food temperature.

Salsa Tex Mex

I haven't been to Salsa Tex Mex in at least 5 years. My girlfriend happened to run into someone and…read morestrike up a conversation about food and this person let her know that Salsa had hired away the GM of a Gloria's and made improvements in their food, service, and "everything." What I can say is that Salsa now has salsa, chips and black bean dip just like Gloria's; yes, that iconic, tasteless black bean dip that could stand to have some salt, cumin, paprika, chili powder, black pepper, Mexican oregano and onion added - you know... adobo! Ambiance - basically a dirty school cafeteria. The floors have been stripped to concrete and the noise level is at a steady 80+ decibels. The chairs, tables and vinyl tablecloths ache for a good scrubbing. Speaking of noise - one of the margarita machines was as loud as a lawn mower. Why? Well when a random server saw me staring at the machine and asked me if everything was ok, I said, "you know, I think if the side panel were put back on, that margarita machine would be much quieter." He looks at me and says, "yes, but then it would overheat again because it is too close to the other margarita machine. It was quiet when we had it on the other side of the bar, but the manager wants them together." Then he laughs and walks off. Speaking of laughs, our server was a riot. We ordered a hamburger for our four year old. When ordered, I asked the server to bring mayonesa (mayonnaise) and not ketchup. She says, "ok, we don't have the mayonesa so you can have ketchup so that's ok." I asked if she had any other salsas like a salsa macha. She said they have a habanero and a molcajete salsa and brought them to us. The habanero was fruity and not at all spicy. The molcajete had actually gone bad. It tasted rancid and smelled. I told the server and she said, " oh no. Ok." Then she walked off and didn't take the bowl and no doubt didn't tell anyone. I ordered the Churrasco and my girlfriend the Rene. When our food arrived, the kids hamburger was placed on the table with a warning about the plate being very hot. Who puts a kid meal on a plate that is hot?!?! Also who puts a ramekin of chimichuri sauce on top of the steak? FWIW, the chimichuri was not even close to being chimichuri. On the upside I stopped a bus boy and asked for mayo and amazingly, he brought some. The server came back and said, "oh, you got mayonnaise!" Then I asked (in Spanish) why she told me she didn't have mayo. She babbled incomprehensibly in a mix of English and Spanish that was a mix of lies and half truths. Who lies about mayo for a kid? Our meals were unremarkable and tasted like Sysco foods TV dinners. The only thing that I can tell has been improved is the prices - in Salsa's favor. Salsa Tex Mex - do better. Hire staff that actually cares about your restaurant and customers. Train your wait staff. Improve your recipes, source higher quality ingredients, and simplify your menu. Fix your equipment and ambiance. 2 stars because at least the water glasses were clean, the margaritas were strong, we didn't have to wait long to check out.

The food here is good, but all things considered especially for the demographic there is better…read more Like literally across the street. I'll be back, just not frequently.
