Was in the mood for Mexican and my friends took me to this local restaurant. Service was good and for a Saturday night the place was not full. More to do with all the options for dinner rather than a reflection on this places quality. Choose a Mango Margarita to have with their chips and salsa. Came in handy as the salsa was fire. Main entree was a brisket stuffed poblano, beef enchilada and a beef taco. Taco was just okay. The best of the three was the poblano- the brisket was tasty and flavorful. My only complaint would be less sauce and more cheese. My companions both liked their quesadillas and agreed the brisket one was the best. Good choice for a local place. There's just a lot of other places for good Mexican food as well. read more

I've eaten at Ojeda's at least 5 times and they never disappoint. I usually get sour cream chicken enchiladas and they are the best I've had. Today I had chicken fajitas and they were amazing! The service was great, even though they were busy and it appeared short handed the manager took our order! If you like Mexican food that's not spicy, but has amazing flavor Ojeda's is the place to eat! read more

Great staff and menu offerings. It's easy Tex Mex comfort food but also includes some Mexican dishes you won't see at other restaurants. Try a house margarita, and I was also surprised about how much I enjoyed the Michelada too! The fluffy taco was unique, and you really can't go wrong with the sizzling fajitas. Stopped by for lunch, service was good and friendly but so slow not many In restaurants still took over 45 minutes from ordering to food on table. Then food was mediocre. We shared queso, chicken quesadilla, fish tacos and cheese enchiladas. Food was bland and not really hot. Sorry Ojeda not sure we will be visiting again. read more

Good food and atmosphere and usually the service is very good. Fun basic atmosphere. My only problem is I am sensitive to spicy foods and even when they say something is not spicy, it is still potent to my palate. Decided to grab a bite to eat on this cold, rainy night!! Our favorite go to Mexican restaurant is Ojeda's!! We are always greeted by our favorite people, Miguel and Jojo! Jojo is our waitress and always waits on us hand and foot! Always fresh hot chips and salsa. yummy queso. We ordered enchiladas tonight topped with rib eye steak! So good and tender. The beans and rice are so good and authentic! Then, the margaritas! My husband always gets their melt-down frozen margarita and I had their delicious frozen jalepeno margarita. So yummy!! Disgusting with this establishment for so many reason but I will keep it short: Our waiter short hispanic guy said brought the chips and salsa to the table. I preferred less spicy and in the midst of that my daughter was tasting her salsa. The rude waiter ripped both salsa's from the table as my kid was still dipping into hers. Rude ASF , I was on the verge of leaving but we had drove 20 mins away just to eat here. Fajitas were terrible and had no hint of fire grilled. Sorta the whole reason we chose this one establishment. Cannot say what is worst, the food or the service. Hubby and I sat for 20 minutes before the server acknowledged us. Then we waited for another 20 minutes to get our Chili Rellenos & Puffy Taco combo and Fish Tacos. We had to ask for silverware, and Hubby got up and got napkins for us. All the time our server sat in a booth within my line of sight eating a donut, having a drink, and scrolling on his phone... it was lunch time after all! Our food was lukewarm by the time we got it. Neither the chili rellenos, puffy taco or fish tacos had any Tex-Mex flavors... bland, bland, bland. Cheese on the chili rellenos did not have the usual pull, and the sauce was a flavorless congealed hot mess. It seemed like this place was cutting back on the much needed peppers and replacing it with flavorless fillers. The puffy taco was soggy on the bottom as it was sitting in the congealed sauce too. The fish in the tacos were cut in small chunks with more fillers than fish. Like the other dishes, the fish tacos had no flavor. Neither the waiter nor the manager never asked us how things were, so we guess that they knew it is terrible. There are too many good Tex-Mex restaurants in Plano, but sadly Ojeda's is not one of them. First and last visit for us. read more

Looking for a good Mexican place to eat? This cozy restaurant is it around the area. I'm from Mexico and the food taste some what like the mom and pop restaurants you can find in Mexico smaller towns. This isn't a trendy place but more for older people and families. There's no big TV's to watch games and there's no fusion. However they do serve good Mexican breakfast all day long. They also have deals everyday that are good and Mondays is Happy hour all day long. The service was good but sometimes it's cold and sometimes it's real hot. I feel like you should bring an extra layer with you because it was real cold tonight. We support local businesses and I do recommend this place. read more

Wow, this location has gone DOWN hill fast. It looks like it hasn't had a deep clean in years, the menus are nasty, sticky, have food, and salsa all over them. The wait staff appear to be all hungover, tired or ready to go to happy hour. The music seems like it's one of the staff's playlist. When I go to a "texmex" restaurant, I would prefer to hear Tejano or even ranchero music NOT "fresa" music, not Bad Bunny, not cumbias. This ain't Gloria's. My advice, go to El Pueblito, or Salsa TexMex. The OG Ojedas in Dallas/Maple is still a classic but this Plano location is no bueno. Went with my siblings for my brother's birthday, 8 of us. I used the Yelp app to check in and it gave me a coupon for a free sopapilla for each guest in our group. When we finished our lunch, I showed our coupon to our waiter and he said no I can't do that we don't give away free sopapillas. I showed it to him again where it said one free Sopaipilla per guest in your party, and he went and got the manager. The manager repeated the same thing, no we can't do that. After some discussion he begrudgingly went and got our sopapillas. We are talking 8 sopapillas in total which probably cost less than a dollar each. We visited Ojeda's on a Thursday night and it was completely empty. I'm not sure why - the food is good, the drinks are strong, and the prices are really cheap! We ordered 16oz swirl margaritas and the Tampico and Mexican Dinner. The Tampico comes with a beef enchilada, puffed beef taco (what they're known for) and rice & beans. The Mexican Dinner comes with a beef enchilada, two tamales, and rice and beans. The tamales were cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth! Visited the Plano Ojeda's on a Monday night. Very good service, very friendly staff. Food was rather average...we got the stuffed jalepenos (with cheese-whiz-ish queso to dip them in), grilled beef fajitas (tender but tasteless meat), and shrimp a la diablo (nice flavor but grilled veggies were overcooked. A traditional old school Mexican-American place you could easily find in 70s. Menu with no surprises or modern touch. The enchiladas were boring with super fine ground beef - seemed mushy. I can imagine refried beans from a massive can. Nothing on this menu was updated except price - too high for quality of food unless you get a daily special. The chips tasted like old oil was used - I didn't eat many. Last, the spicy salsa was in a large Tupperware like container room temp left on table. This must be the largest mistake - as it isn't warm it isn't hot - and you wonder how old it is... plus it has some kick to it - so have a drink handy. This place could easily improve.. but I suspect business is good enough to not bother. The bar is useless - and you must drink at a table... Clean bathroom and good service saved this score from being worse. So much potential here. read more

This is my favorite hole in the wall Mexican restaurant In Plano. The gentleman who is the host is over-the-top fun and certainly cares about the customer's experience. The margaritas are also pretty good and chips and salsa are worth it. What's good? Like any restaurant, there are things that are better than other. Sizzling chicken fajitas are great. Make sure to order "sizzling fajitas" because the fajita plate is underwhelming and dry as though the fajitas are made earlier in the day. I was working in the area and I asked somebody nearby for a good recommendation for a really good Tex Max and they referred me to to this place, and the fajitas were super dry, and made with really cheap meat... I come from the school that says be fajitas or steak fajitas should never be cooked well done and these were extremely dry, which means that they cook them well over well-done to the point that they were practically burnt...this really surprised me because their claim to fame is being the best in the DFW area. also, when the server brought me my lunch, I never saw him again until I asked for a check. They actually have mole sauce, which I've had a hard time finding in a lot of the local Mexican restaurants When I come here, I know I must get on their nerves... I'm like "put mole sauce on everything please". The service here is always excellent, but I'd probably come back even if it wasn't since I love the food. It's a bit off the beaten path for me, but I still venture here once a month. The place is clean and the staff treats you well. I never feel like I'm imposing, even when my order is a pain in the buttocks. The food comes pretty fast, which I love since when I come here I'm usually starvin like Marvin.. When the food is delivered, I'm happier than a puppy with two tails. It's always hot and always smells super yummy. So there I was with my enchiladas smothered in mole sauce, sitting next to my burrito with mole sauce poured over the top... you can't imagine how crazy I looked with all of the food... but I fought the fight... I couldn't' finish it, but I sure tried. If you haven't experienced mole, or you're just looking for something different. The fajita chimichanga was HORRIBLE! It was just a flour tortilla that was uncooked (not fried) with watery beef chunks in it and drowned in queso. Seriously...way more queso than needed. I guess they had to hide the fact that they didn't fry their chimi. Chuy's has a MUCH BETTER Chimichanga than this horrible place. Do not bother coming to this Ojeda's. It sucks.
