My friend and I went through the drive in service on a Monday afternoon for lunch. We had our order taken right away and we were given our food very quickly. I ordered an enchilada combo plate which came with a choice of beef or chicken for two enchiladas. I chose one beef and one chicken with cheese sauce over both. The cheese sauce was very tasty. I prefer the beef because it was more flavored. The chicken unfortunately was just boiled unseasoned chicken but it was moist at least! The rice and beans it came with were ok. Rice had a nice light flavor but the beans were a little too salty for me. Everything came together very well with the sour cream, guacamole and pico that it came with. This Taco Place is my favorite place to go fo Bf taco or tamales to go without wasting time! I have never been inside the shop, only driving through customer. I have never had any bad service here. The drive through is very fast and excellent service, they will stock your Togo bag with lots of extra sauce. Tamales here has never disappoint, very delicious and very seasoned. Burritos are delicious here, mostly their breakfast type, very big and delicious and you will keep coming back for more, it's my favorite. Not gonna lie, not a fan of Mexican "fast food" but I've been to eating at Taco Delite for 17 yrs and I love it. I'm a creature of habit and always get the beef crunchy tacos, with extra extra salsa, it's the best! They have really yummy tortilla soup, queso and cinnamon chips (served warm) and the prices are great. I think it's a family business but not 100% sure, the staff is always super nice, quick and consistent. The man at the drive thru window, I think his name is Javier, is always so happy and friendly. Here is another I was sure I had reviewed before; but oh well, here we go again! I am a huge fan of Taco Delite and wish they were closer to me. There are two I know of and neither are very convenient, they need some more locations for sure! Accurately named, their tacos are delightful. The lean beef is seasoned wonderfully and they put an ample amount on your taco. They also load you up with cheese and lettuce too, and put it all in a crispy taco shell, making it a winning combination! I also enjoy their bean burritos. They have the beans at a perfect consistency of smoothness and add just enough chili sauce and then some cheddar cheese, and all of those ingredients are proportioned perfectly with each other. You are missing out if you like fast-food Mexican and have not tried this place out. Having lived in Plano for 45+ years, we've long been fans of the Taco DeLite restaurants. The Rose family who founded the original in East Plano were friends from church, and we loved supporting their business while also enjoying good food. This store at Independence and 15th was sold outside the family years ago. It is very close to our home, so we've been frequent patrons even though the Roses no longer own this store. However, that stops effective immediately. My husband and I ate dinner there recently. We each had a quesadilla plate and an iced tea. I was SHOCKED when the cashier said the total was $35.70. WHAT???? For fast food for two people? Absolutely ridiculous!!! The food was tasty as always, but we cannot and will not justify paying that kind of money for fast food when we can go up the street to Salsa Tex Mex and have a sit down dinner of WAY better food INCLUDING ONE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE for the exact same money. Sure, inflation has hit everyone. But the owners of this Taco DeLite have lost their minds if they think people will spend that kind of money for a fast food experience. This was my first time to hit this Taco Delite. They offer the same good Taco Delite food at about the same speed as all of the other locations. I didn't think my food was as hot and tasty as I've experienced at the original and Coit locations. It was good, but my cheese on my bean burrito wasn't melted at all. Kind of odd. The food is horrible. Not worth the price. We tried going twice to maybe see if the first time was just a fluke and the second time we went it was worse. This was my first time at Taco Delite. I will state in agreement that this is not like your typical fast food Mexican, like Taco Bell or Taco Beuno. They definitely stir in the direction of popular Mexican with a few added items. I came in looking to scope out the enchiladas plate and burritos. I also decided to try the cheese nachos and cinnamon chips. The enchiladas plate was ok. But disappointed in the quality and quantity of food for the price of $7.99z Not worth it. The enchiladas sauce however, was very delicious. I may have to get a side of enchilada sauce for my next order. The burrito was suppose to be a bean burrito, but somehow I ended up with a meat burrito. It wasn't very good. The meat was flavorless and one end of the burrito had handful of what I assume was green peppers. The cheese nachos were soggy and had way to much cheese on them. It may had been better if the cheese was served on the side for dipping and not just drenched over the chips. They do, however give you sour cream, pico de gallo, and a jalapeño for extra toppings, all served in a to go container. The cinnamon chips where my absolute favorite!! They where thick and flaky, and very generously coated with cinnamon and sugar! I keep hearing and seeing the reviews for the tacos, so next time I'll give the tacos a chance. If the tacos fail me, then I may continue searching out fast Mexican, until I find something that fits my fast Mexican cravings. Service was good! Place was clean! And it appears to be a good place to sit and enjoy a meal. I however got my food to go. So what little time spent inside, may not reflect in its entirety. 3 stars for good service, amazing cinnamon chips and awesome enchilada sauce. Don't be fooled by the super casual environment - this is delicious Tex Mex food. Truly - these might be the best crunchy beef tacos in the DFW area -- order them with guacamole (which is super fresh!), and be surprised at the quality of the corn tortillas and the shredded cheese. The salads are absolutely delicious, and the rice and beans are always fresh tasting. The bean nachos are also extra wonderful, but only if you are eating in. We've ordered them to-go through the drive-thru before, and by the time we get home the chips have gotten soggy. Two other things I've noticed -- this place is super clean. You can see the entire kitchen while you're ordering, and everything sparkles. The restrooms, floors, and tables are also always clean. And the staff here is super friendly. The restaurants are always clean and they are not afraid to show you their health reports. I have been coming here for more than 20 years because Taco Delite has figured out the secret that corporate/franchise/nationwide chains don't know: 1. Having the same consistent menu of wonderful food items 2. Gratitude shown by employees. 3. Consistent quality I love getting the Salad Supreme taco salad. It has way more meat than Taco Bell or Taco bueno plus it is always served piping hot. The staff is beyond friendly and they treat everyone with respect and you are continually thanked by them. They appreciate their customers and it shows. Everyone who works there appears happy. Fast food chains change their menu constantly getting rid of foods you like just to always be offering something new. They must think their customers are stupid and won't notice, or think we are all 5 years old and have no attention spans and they must dazzle us with more new items. If you are eating off the $1.00 menu, chances are you are eating food that costs less than 25 cents. Places like Chilis and Applebees struggle because they've changed their menu too much and the quality has gone downhill. read more

Usually don't goto eat Mexican fast food but was running some errands and I was starving and looking for something close. And I am so happy I decided to dropped by. Great tacos. Great guacamole. Rice wasn't anything to write home about, but the tacos and the guacamole picked up the slack, this was my first time at a taco Delite and I'm really tempted to come back even if it means a 20 minute drive from my house.
