My review is based solely on their online ordering process which was very simple, and straight forward. I didn't have to create an account, just simply input my info and that's all. I was provided the tracking info, which was accurate as to when my order would be delivered to my house. I ordered the ranch duffel bag, which was accurate to the description. But the description does it no justice as to actually getting to feel the quality of the leather and the smell of the leather. If you are looking to get your boots branded, do not go here!! I took a pair of boots I have had for many months now so they were nicely broken in. When the lady went to brand then, she went the whole way through to the inside of the boot. My friend bought a new pair and the guy messed those up also! Incredible. Walked in here with my boyfriend, aiming to exchange a pair of his boots for another better fitting pair. We were greeted genuinely by multiple employees and offered a beverage. It is amazing how welcomed you feel when someone offers you a drink! Such a simple gesture but goes a long way to making one feel like you're there for a dinner party. Cue opening purse strings... Ultimately he decided to keep the same pair he'd bought, as next size down was too tight. But we had such a great experience that we didn't want to leave without picking out something special. We found a bronze belt buckle with a gorgeous mountain-scape design. Took that baby home. This place has it figured out. Have an excellent product, give your customers a low-pressure, homey welcoming environment and the rest takes care of itself! Will certainly be back when we're in town again. Worst customer service experience probably of my life today at the South Congress location. I was patiently waiting for a pair of boots to be brought to me after giving my size and then was completely ignored by the girl who was supposed to be helping me. I then see her hanging out and laughing behind the register (knowing she sees me). Very confused at this point. After 15 minutes go by, she tells me that those were "the owners" and that they have to be given special service when they come in the store. If the owners believe in making their customers wait while they get VIP service, I wouldn't recommend shopping here to any of us "normal" people. read more

Own a few pairs of western boots and saw a bunch of reviews on Tecovas. Almost purchased a pair online but I planned a trip to Austin so I knew waiting to actually try them on was a smart decision. I was instantly greeted by friendly staff and seeing the amazing quality of their products up-close almost tempted me to purchase more than I planned on purchasing. Got some Chocolate Cartwrights and they are the most comfortable boots I own. The reviews do not lie, Tecovas are the truth. Even got some good bourbon while shopping there. My new boots look so good! My goodness this store was busy today. People everywhere yet a nice young lady assisted me quickly with just what I needed. This store has The Tecovas brand boots for men and women, jeans, belts, wallets/ Billfolds, Leather Bags, t shirts and socks. I am beyond impressed with this company. 1. The boots are well made and at a great price point. I did a lot of research online and their is a reason Tecovas is receiving so much praise. 2. I called the customer service line and spoke with someone about my exchange. They were very helpful and very nice! 3. The exchange policy is on point. Easy to follow and they get the replacement products out quickly. I live in Dallas, Texas and they have a warehouse in Dallas so this may be a one off case but... Ordered originally on a Monday - delivered the next day on a Tuesday. Returned for size exchange on Wednesday - replacement delivered on Thursday. Fantastic! Highly recommended. read more

They have all of the products proudly displayed across the store, and the staff is extremely kind and ready to help you find whatever you need. We went into the store knowing what we wanted to buy, but left with so much more after getting to see so many of the old and new products in person (helllloooo, briefcase - which they even personalized with our initials in-store, so cool!), not having any buyer's remorse because we know that everything we bought we will love. I am so disappointed in this Austin brand not being "Austin friendly" and fit the culture of our town. I regret visiting their flagship store ever single time. I love the products, but staff profiles you... i never get offered a beverage or get assisted, yet I always spend $$$. It's very off putting. As I sit here contemplating purchasing a $400 messenger bag for a Christmas gift online, I'm pretty torn. Tecovas needs to stop hiring pricks who judge appearances. This is Austin... if I want to shop in joggers, no makeup & a ponytail I'm going to do it and have no shame. This is more of a review in regards to my experience in the SoCo store location, opposed to the quality of craftsmanship of the boot, which is beautiful. My wife and i went in on a Saturday afternoon, it was not very busy, but there was a large group of friends all trying boots on. Knowing what we were looking for it was just a matter of getting some help. 10-15 minutes in (we casually browsed waiting to be addressed) I asked for some help. The employee had been speaking to her friend who came in to visit her at work, so as she helped us, when she got back to the floor she would go back to her friend. At this point it is not a big deal to us, but getting frustrating. I am wondering why we are not getting good service, because around me I am noticing people are being given beers as they browse, getting walk through of the boots and how they should fit, and we are here getting the bare minimum. Had my wife not wanted these boots we would of left without ever having someone even say hello to us. In a store as small as this that is pretty sad. We bought boots, left and wont return, you have lost our business moving forward. read more

Visited Tecovas in South Congress on the Friday after Thanksgiving to buy some boots. Had to wait in line briefly to get in but loved the vibe. Customer service was limited but in all fairness it was a busy day. Selection was really good and I loved that they shipped my package for free. My only slight beef was the online prices were less than the store. It seemed odd to be able to go into the store and pick out an item that was far cheaper to order online. Having bought multiple pairs of boots and a belt in the Dallas Knox Henderson location and Shops st Legacy I have become accustomed to your over the top customer service. The relax and browse can I get you a drink atmosphere is part of your culture I appreciate. My experience in your Austin Congress location gave no hint to the culture I have become accustomed. It took me quite by surprise. Your salespeople acted as if we were an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to impress and continue to enhance the brand!!! Our salesperson walked around with her coat on and I guess was ready to bolt out the door as soon as the closing time came. My girlfriend was looking at some boots and your salesperson stepped right in front of her with not a excuse me or any semblance of manners. As I feel the boots are of good quality I'm leaving a two star review because I have not been impressed with the staff or the company's ability to help customers with their products. Example, I went in the store to have my husbands boots stretched because after being told that they would break in and told that he purchased the right size and even after buying their $30 pair of socks his feet are still a bit cramped in the boot. They said they didn't have the tools to stretch them, really I thought? I worked at Allens boots in high school and on many occasion we would stretch peoples boots with a simple boot stretch that took only a few hours. Wasn't complicated and didn't appear to be a very expensive tool. I was told to take the boots to a shoe doctor to have them stretched. Pretty disappointing that they couldn't do this for me with their own boots. read more

My was wanted me have cowboy boots for a Christmas present so it was very appropriate for us to be visiting Austin before Christmas! The first day we were there we went to their store on S. Congress. The young woman who waited on me was very nice and made sure the boots fit well. The selection was good and I got exactly what I wanted. When we finished, I was asked if I wanted a drink. Thinking she meant a Coca Cola, I asked what do you have. Her response was scotch, bourbon or a beer which surprised me. I got a sparkling water with a Tecovas Koozie! This is a review about product quality only. I was surprised to see the reviews about customer in-store experiences, since I don't live in Texas, and didn't know that was a big thing. My online experience has been just fine. The product I received (The Knox) was absolutely beautiful. As a long time buyer (in the 80s & 90s) of Red Wing Irish Setter slip-on boots, I was prepared to once again buy Red Wing. A visit to the local Red Wing store was a disappointment though. While they had product they called Irish Setter, it wasn't the same as I was buying back when. So, I started looking online. Luckily, Tecovas has an online presence. Their Knox boot looked very much like the boots I used to buy from Red Wing. So, I ordered a pair. When they arrived I was very pleased. Such a well made boot!!! And the price point reflected good value. This is probably the last pair of boots I'll ever need to buy, but if not, I'm pretty sure I'll buy Tecovas again. read more

All my other boots do not have any arch support, but my new Tecovas's actually cradle my heel and support my arch. Unexpected!!! The price is amazing. I am used to paying the same price for seconds. I had been following Tecovas on Instagram and been wanting to order a pair of boots, but thankfully I was actually able to make a vacation trip out to Austin from California and had the opportunity to visit their new store, try on some boots and make a purchase. It worked out really well because instead of just ordering my Calfskin boots I had planned, I actually went all out and purchased some American Alligator boots in black to wear at a wedding I was in town for. Boots are beautiful and comfortable and definitely a statement piece of cowboy boot wear. The associates assistance was great and even was greeted with a cold one which hit the spot after walking around in the Austin heat. Went in to the Tecovas store on South Congress. Was never greeted, never offered assistance. My wife wanted to try on two pairs of boots even after I said no because we were never acknowledged. Spent twenty minutes in the store and my wife was walking around with two pairs of boots in hand. The employee who was not helping everyone walked past us twice even while my wife held two pairs of boots. We had just come from Allen's boots across the street where we were greeted and the salesperson asked if they could point us in the right direction. I've twice called customer service to understand when boots will be in stock. No one knows. Great boots! But unfortunately the way they do promotions and handle situations is a bit of a joke. I had won a gift card + 50% off at a concert. Upon redeeming, going through a employee who apparently worked on the corporate level. Was unable to fufill what they offered. The employee pretty much ghosted me after giving me the run around for a couple of weeks. I recently received a email, which was probably sent out to everyone on the mailing list. I told them what happened, they apologized and said they never did a promotion like that. They offered me %15 off. Lol what a joke. To be honest they should have just made it right and given the amount that I had apparently won. I have them all the texts between me and this employee. We ordered boots last year for my son. He tried to wear them in the house without success. We called customer service and explained than he has unique feet due to him having Down Syndrome, and we weren't sure what was bothering him about the boot, but he wouldn't wear them. They asked us to trace around his foot, send the boots back and they would try with another pair. Unfortunately, the next pair didn't work either (we think it's just because there's a slight heel), but customer service gladly sent Fedex to pick them up and gave a full refund.
