I went into Tecovas south Congress location and I was so appalled by what I walked into, I saw two girls inappropriately dressed as if they were working at a bar not Tecovas on Congress. I saw so much I know what her belly button piercing looks like I'm not quite sure if there was a theme going on that day but it looked like a ho down and not a boot store if you know what I mean. I expect the dress code to reflect Tecovas values. read more

Nice well organized shops with more than just boots - they've got bad, belts, clothing and other things. Super friendly sales people who are more than willing to help you try on some boots - they're handmade and pretty comfy. You can buy them there, but if they don't have them in stock you can get them mailed to you too. This place is their first physical location since they were primarily online ordering before. It's definitely nice to be able to see all the stuff in person first before you buy. read more

Buyer beware. I returned my order, received an email stating they had the merchandise in their possession and would credit my account. It never happened. I asked for a transaction number for my refund, and I'm not getting a response. I will be filing a complaint in small claims court. read more

My review is based solely on their online ordering process which was very simple, and straight forward. I didn't have to create an account, just simply input my info and that's all. I was provided the tracking info, which was accurate as to when my order would be delivered to my house. I ordered the ranch duffel bag, which was accurate to the description. But the description does it no justice as to actually getting to feel the quality of the leather and the smell of the leather. I'm very happy with the purchase and my only regret is not stopping in the store when I first visited Austin and grabbing a drink while I'm there. read more

Great service! Boots Fit like a glove! Price was good and I will buy another pair soon!!

If you are looking to get your boots branded, do not go here!! I took a pair of boots I have had for many months now so they were nicely broken in. When the lady went to brand then, she went the whole way through to the inside of the boot. My friend bought a new pair and the guy messed those up also! She gave me my boot back to leave and I was like uhh can you do something about this, it looks awful and they just gave me a brand new pair but kept my old ones. read more

Was looking for a great man tote and saw the Waxed Canvas Classic Tote online and it had great reviews from men. Well, it just arrived today and it's pretty stellar! Fantastic bag. My only recommendation would be to make the handles a smidge longer for easier use for men. Otherwise, this is an awesome tote for urban usage. read more

Incredible. Walked in here with my boyfriend, aiming to exchange a pair of his boots for another better fitting pair. We were greeted genuinely by multiple employees and offered a beverage. It is amazing how welcomed you feel when someone offers you a drink! Such a simple gesture but goes a long way to making one feel like you're there for a dinner party. Cue opening purse strings... Ultimately he decided to keep the same pair he'd bought, as next size down was too tight. But we had such a great experience that we didn't want to leave without picking out something special. We found a bronze belt buckle with a gorgeous mountain-scape design. Took that baby home. This place has it figured out. Have an excellent product, give your customers a low-pressure, homey welcoming environment and the rest takes care of itself! Will certainly be back when we're in town again. I need those sold-out white cowgirl boots! read more

Worst customer service experience probably of my life today at the South Congress location. I was patiently waiting for a pair of boots to be brought to me after giving my size and then was completely ignored by the girl who was supposed to be helping me. I then see her hanging out and laughing behind the register (knowing she sees me). Very confused at this point. After 15 minutes go by, she tells me that those were "the owners" and that they have to be given special service when they come in the store. If the owners believe in making their customers wait while they get VIP service, I wouldn't recommend shopping here to any of us "normal" people. read more

I had to give a five. The store is amazing!!!! I have several pairs of their boots, and I love them all, I look forward to getting more and there will be more. Julian, at the store was OUTSTANDING!! and while I didn't catch the bartenders name she too added to the really fun vibe of the store. Great store. Great employees. Great products. A word of warning: Their online customer service leaves A LOT TO BE DESIRED. They are full of hokey, pat answers and empty on help and support.. and it pains me to say this because they are my ONLY boot now, and everything else is done so right. Buy with confidence. The products great. The store is amazing and fin (AUSTIN location) Online, go ahead, but watch out for the online CS, no bueno. read more

Great boots really good prices. Both me and my wife have bought several boots flip them I have been really happy with the quality.

Own a few pairs of western boots and saw a bunch of reviews on Tecovas. Almost purchased a pair online but I planned a trip to Austin so I knew waiting to actually try them on was a smart decision. I was instantly greeted by friendly staff and seeing the amazing quality of their products up-close almost tempted me to purchase more than I planned on purchasing. Got some Chocolate Cartwrights and they are the most comfortable boots I own. The reviews do not lie, Tecovas are the truth. Even got some good bourbon while shopping there. I see another trip to Austin in the near future and definitely plan to go here again to purchase more boots. read more

My new boots look so good! My goodness this store was busy today. People everywhere yet a nice young lady assisted me quickly with just what I needed. This store has The Tecovas brand boots for men and women, jeans, belts, wallets/ Billfolds, Leather Bags, t shirts and socks. While I waited in like to check out a friendly employee ask me if I'd like a beverage. Beer, soda, bourbon? Bourbon is a hell yes! That's also the color of my new boots. Sweet! I love this place. read more

I am beyond impressed with this company. 1. The boots are well made and at a great price point. I did a lot of research online and their is a reason Tecovas is receiving so much praise. 2. I called the customer service line and spoke with someone about my exchange. They were very helpful and very nice! 3. The exchange policy is on point. Easy to follow and they get the replacement products out quickly. I live in Dallas, Texas and they have a warehouse in Dallas so this may be a one off case but... Ordered originally on a Monday - delivered the next day on a Tuesday. Returned for size exchange on Wednesday - replacement delivered on Thursday. Fantastic! Highly recommended. read more

Having bought multiple pairs of boots and a belt in the Dallas Knox Henderson location and Shops st Legacy I have become accustomed to your over the top customer service. The relax and browse can I get you a drink atmosphere is part of your culture I appreciate. My experience in your Austin Congress location gave no hint to the culture I have become accustomed. It took me quite by surprise. Your salespeople acted as if we were an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to impress and continue to enhance the brand!!! Our salesperson walked around with her coat on and I guess was ready to bolt out the door as soon as the closing time came. My girlfriend was looking at some boots and your salesperson stepped right in front of her with not a excuse me or any semblance of manners. I work for Southwest Airlines where customer service is everything. I used to place you on that level. You might tell your people on Congress they aren't on Rodeo Drive in L.A....good luck your people on Congress are at best not worth my money or time!!! read more

I am so disappointed in this Austin brand not being "Austin friendly" and fit the culture of our town. I regret visiting their flagship store ever single time. I love the products, but staff profiles you... i never get offered a beverage or get assisted, yet I always spend $$$. It's very off putting. As I sit here contemplating purchasing a $400 messenger bag for a Christmas gift online, I'm pretty torn. Tecovas needs to stop hiring pricks who judge appearances. This is Austin... if I want to shop in joggers, no makeup & a ponytail I'm going to do it and have no shame. How idiotic to not get assisted based on an appearance & judgment that I'm not flashy and may not have $. So OPPOSITE of Austin. Ughh read more

I love Tecovas boots & bags, and now I love their store! Shopping here was fun, easy, and so friendly. They have all of the products proudly displayed across the store, and the staff is extremely kind and ready to help you find whatever you need. We went into the store knowing what we wanted to buy, but left with so much more after getting to see so many of the old and new products in person (helllloooo, briefcase - which they even personalized with our initials in-store, so cool!), not having any buyer's remorse because we know that everything we bought we will love. So, if you love Tecovas (or if you just love beautiful handmade boots, bags and everything else they have in-store), you will love this store! Cheers! read more

This is more of a review in regards to my experience in the SoCo store location, opposed to the quality of craftsmanship of the boot, which is beautiful. My wife and i went in on a Saturday afternoon, it was not very busy, but there was a large group of friends all trying boots on. Knowing what we were looking for it was just a matter of getting some help. 10-15 minutes in (we casually browsed waiting to be addressed) I asked for some help. The employee had been speaking to her friend who came in to visit her at work, so as she helped us, when she got back to the floor she would go back to her friend. At this point it is not a big deal to us, but getting frustrating. I am wondering why we are not getting good service, because around me I am noticing people are being given beers as they browse, getting walk through of the boots and how they should fit, and we are here getting the bare minimum. Had my wife not wanted these boots we would of left without ever having someone even say hello to us. In a store as small as this that is pretty sad. We bought boots, left and wont return, you have lost our business moving forward. read more

Visited Tecovas in South Congress on the Friday after Thanksgiving to buy some boots. Had to wait in line briefly to get in but loved the vibe. Customer service was limited but in all fairness it was a busy day. Selection was really good and I loved that they shipped my package for free. My only slight beef was the online prices were less than the store. It seemed odd to be able to go into the store and pick out an item that was far cheaper to order online. Regardless, solid Austin based company' that is well loved and my boots are awesome! read more

Full quill ostrich squares in black. Extremely well made and comfortable. Will be coming back for more

As I feel the boots are of good quality I'm leaving a two star review because I have not been impressed with the staff or the company's ability to help customers with their products. Example, I went in the store to have my husbands boots stretched because after being told that they would break in and told that he purchased the right size and even after buying their $30 pair of socks his feet are still a bit cramped in the boot. They said they didn't have the tools to stretch them, really I thought? I worked at Allens boots in high school and on many occasion we would stretch peoples boots with a simple boot stretch that took only a few hours. Wasn't complicated and didn't appear to be a very expensive tool. I was told to take the boots to a shoe doctor to have them stretched. Pretty disappointing that they couldn't do this for me with their own boots. read more

I have been admiring the boots online. I knew when we arrived in Austin this is where I wanted to go. First day in Austin and we found our way in. I can't wait to break my boots in and enjoy the comfort of my boots. read more

I've seen Tecovas ads online for while and have been interested. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty busy but everyone I interacted with was friendly. My was wanted me have cowboy boots for a Christmas present so it was very appropriate for us to be visiting Austin before Christmas! The first day we were there we went to their store on S. Congress. The young woman who waited on me was very nice and made sure the boots fit well. The selection was good and I got exactly what I wanted. When we finished, I was asked if I wanted a drink. Thinking she meant a Coca Cola, I asked what do you have. Her response was scotch, bourbon or a beer which surprised me. I got a sparkling water with a Tecovas Koozie! Nice store with nice products and people. BTW, the boots are great. read more

Boots!!! New boots!!! Texas designed and made in Mexico!!! I LOVE my new Tecovas. The fit is amazing; felt broke in the minute I slipped them on. I love the support and comfort. All my other boots do not have any arch support, but my new Tecovas's actually cradle my heel and support my arch. Unexpected!!! The price is amazing. I am used to paying the same price for seconds. The staff inside the store was knowledgeable and patient-- even offered me a whiskey! Gotta love Texas. read more

Had been looking at Tecovas boots online for some time now but was apprehensive about buying since I could not try on and it was my 1st purchase of boots. During a trip to Austin with family, I took advantage of the fact they have a store so was able to try on and order since they did not have my size in stock. Excellent customer service and Texas hospitality. Very positive experience and plan to buy some of their beautifully crafted leather travel bags. Thank you! read more

This is a review about product quality only. I was surprised to see the reviews about customer in-store experiences, since I don't live in Texas, and didn't know that was a big thing. My online experience has been just fine. The product I received (The Knox) was absolutely beautiful. As a long time buyer (in the 80s & 90s) of Red Wing Irish Setter slip-on boots, I was prepared to once again buy Red Wing. A visit to the local Red Wing store was a disappointment though. While they had product they called Irish Setter, it wasn't the same as I was buying back when. So, I started looking online. Luckily, Tecovas has an online presence. Their Knox boot looked very much like the boots I used to buy from Red Wing. So, I ordered a pair. When they arrived I was very pleased. Such a well made boot!!! And the price point reflected good value. This is probably the last pair of boots I'll ever need to buy, but if not, I'm pretty sure I'll buy Tecovas again. read more

This was hands down the best buying experience ever. Austin (yes, that's one of the associates' name, gotta love that) took fantastic care of us and helped us both find the perfect boot. While trying out the arguably best supple leather boots in the industry (they are not even that expensive!!), we were actually served cocktails (I said I wanted something fruity and fun and that's just what I got!). Next time I'm back in Austin, I will stop here first for sure. read more

Went in to the Tecovas store on South Congress. Was never greeted, never offered assistance. My wife wanted to try on two pairs of boots even after I said no because we were never acknowledged. Spent twenty minutes in the store and my wife was walking around with two pairs of boots in hand. The employee who was not helping everyone walked past us twice even while my wife held two pairs of boots. We had just come from Allen's boots across the street where we were greeted and the salesperson asked if they could point us in the right direction. Even the gentleman at Goorin's said good morning and offered to let us try on anything. read more

Not entirely the best experience walking into the store, out of 4 employees not one person greeted us, said will be right with you, and when asked for help the girl said sure I'll see if I can find someone and just walks off... never to be seen or heard until she passes us off to a guy and not cause she was helping someone... if I'm dropping $100 +, customer service has to be better... read more

Great in store service and a fun experience. However, the boots we wanted were out of stock. We put our name on a waiting list 6 weeks ago. We have not been contacted since. I've twice called customer service to understand when boots will be in stock. No one knows. This is not endearing me to this company and no matter how good the product is, not having it and not being able to get it doesn't make me want to recommend it to others. Big fail. read more

This company started about 4-5 years ago selling high quality cowboy boots online at a good price. I tend to avoid clothing and footwear online, preferring to see and try things on in person. I am glad I broke my own rule and bought some. They sell great cowboy boots; high quality, stylish, excellent price, and good customer service. What more could you wish for! read more

Great boots! But unfortunately the way they do promotions and handle situations is a bit of a joke. I had won a gift card + 50% off at a concert. Upon redeeming, going through a employee who apparently worked on the corporate level. Was unable to fufill what they offered. The employee pretty much ghosted me after giving me the run around for a couple of weeks. I recently received a email, which was probably sent out to everyone on the mailing list. I told them what happened, they apologized and said they never did a promotion like that. They offered me %15 off. Lol what a joke. To be honest they should have just made it right and given the amount that I had apparently won. I have them all the texts between me and this employee. For a company to not stay by their word says a lot. Overall? Disappointed, they went from a favorite brand to not even wanting their boots any longer. I'll go to another brand for sure. read more

Parking on South Congress is no fun, but the Tecovas store was well worth it. Brand new attractive store with the aroma of a classic saddle shop. We ordered boots last year for my son. He tried to wear them in the house without success. We called customer service and explained than he has unique feet due to him having Down Syndrome, and we weren't sure what was bothering him about the boot, but he wouldn't wear them. They asked us to trace around his foot, send the boots back and they would try with another pair. Unfortunately, the next pair didn't work either (we think it's just because there's a slight heel), but customer service gladly sent Fedex to pick them up and gave a full refund. The boots were beautiful and great quality, but it's their excellent customer service that will make us purchase from them again! read more
