Be very careful as you open their door. Lovecraft is located in East Austin on 11th St. Their name comes from a 1990's Texas speakeasy that was creative and diverse. Lovecraft is women owned and operated small business with ethically made goods and sustainable brands. They also focus on emerging and new designers. This was my last stop in the boutique trifecta. Lovecraft is where fantasy meets whimsical, while making a lasting statement. Every items feel unique and one of a kind. I envision this store for gifts for the hard to shop for people. The tattooed barista was very cold and unwelcoming, and she even made a point to tell us that we weren't petting her dog the correct way. She did give us a cup of treats to give the pup, so that was enjoyable. Good thing, because it took her FOREVER to make our drinks. I was shocked when she said the espresso machine was brand new, then proceeded to whip out a handheld frother (!!) to finish our milk for the cappuccinos. Uh...what? When it was finally ready, at least they were hot and tasty, but also served in paper to-go cups. I felt like she just wanted to get us out of there because she was so bothered by our presence. The Leopard Lounge also have ornate chandeliers and furnishings. According to staff a large portion of their customer base is the University of Texas at Austin students. This is a cool place and I am going to say probably the best shop for this particular kind if thing for the city after poking around some. It's not quite like the heavier clothing like sweaters and such that come with the shops like this in northern states and that is perfectly understandable as Austin and Texas is pretty warm country all of the time. So you will see some really cool short sleeve button down shirts here for men. There is a good selection of those here. And to stay even more comfortable than that there is a lot of goth or horror inspired t shirts Herr which are cool because the selection is considerable. I got a Secret Oktober t shirt just to have the bragging rights to say I was there after coming home to Washington state along with a very nice wallet with lurid colors on leopard print which I was thrilled to acquire. So yes, this was a really cool stop and I'm glad we made our way here. A lot of these kinds of shops in different cities are in eclectic and quirky neighborhoods or blocks... it's not quite the same here as Secret Oktober is in a typical strip mall area, making it the only cool place worth stepping into.
