We ran several diagnostic tests and they all pointed to a FAILING HARD DRIVE. We found Computerzone USA on YELP and called and was told by the owner Sultan Shariff to come in anytime for a hard drive replacement - for which he quoted a price. Upon pick up we noticed several files missing and most other files, pictures, and on-screen icons all jumbled - nor could we open our voluminous MS Outlook. Yikes - so much stress! Best I could tell, he tried to install some upgraded software that caused that problem. He quickly volunteered to fix it upon returning the computer next day and to mirror the EXACT INSTALLATION we had previously. His second try worked flawlessly, everything worked EXACTLY AS BEFORE, no more jumbled or missing files ... all resulting in this MOST HAPPY CUSTOMER. One said "Open Source" and I wasn't sure what that meant. Meanwhile I had moved on to another tab but heard a sound which was PC Nation inviting me to chat. It said, "We are here to help!" So I entered the simple question asking what "Open Source" means in the description for an AC Adapter. In the course of ten minutes, all I got was (after about four minutes) "transferred to Kevin Wood," then "transferred to John Cronin" then a "Read" checkmark, followed moments later by "John Cronin has closed the chat." So I guess maybe John read it and dismissed it because he deemed it too dumb a question to waste his time on? Or because it wouldn't get him any institutional/government business (IIRC his title had those words). Or, since it was 20 minutes until closing, he was in a hurry to get out? Or Is this some sort of game to insult people? I doubt it could have been a tech glitch given the notice that my question had been read.
