***This review pertains to the photo rental and sales department of PCNation. I have been using PCNation since the spring for nearly all of my photo rental needs. Even though their on-hand stock is somewhat limited, they do everything in their power to get you what you require for your shoot. I typically have only needed lenses, but recently I had to have a backdrop and stands for a shoot I was working on. Herb brought in his own equipment for me to rent. That's better than great customer service. Way above and beyond. I've known Herb since he worked at Calumet in Chicago and he has continued his excellent way of doing business with customers here at PCNation. Rick has been excellent with helping out as well. He's the other half of the photo department there. His knowledge and resourcefulness is not lost on me, who often calls last minute for odd requests. I would certainly without question, 100%, unequivocally recommend PCNation for photo gear rental and purchases. They will price match, know their equipment and are eager to help. Receive the printer, so go to website, where they have my order. Charge is 15% or $90.00 on my order. I criticize them - Amazon wouldn't charge such a massive re-stocking fee. But, when I click to go ahead and return, I get: "This page isn't working www.pcnation.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500. Wish I would have looked at these reviews. OH, and before I decided to cancel I got a call from a really nice salesman trying to sell me supplies for my later uneeded printer. So, agressive on sales, regressive on returns. I will NEVER purchase anything from PCnation again!! I made the mistake of purchasing a network switch from PC Nation and unfortunately, I needed to return it. After 4 days I received an RMA with the incorrect serial number. After pointing this out to Anthony P in the Returns department he asked me to hold off on shipping it back until he contacted the manufacturer. After 3 more days, I contact him and my sale rep. Caroline but never heard back. I waited a few more days and contacted them again but did not hear back. I emailed the PCnation customer server and Anthony and Caroline again but still nothing. After calling customer service I was told the rep could not look into it and I needed to contact my sales rep. and they forwarded my call to Caroline. After 8 minutes of hold music, no one got back on the line and there was no voice mail option. Will NEVER purchase anything from PCnation again. read more

Returning an item is very expensive! Telephone customer service is non-existing even though the # is listed on their website, all communication is a slow reply only by e-mail or chat. PCNation strict Return Instructions are: 1)You pay all the returning fees, you pay 15% of the purchased package item. 2)Ship the item back with UPS or FEDEX only, it does not allow post office service. 3)You must meet the DUE DATE return or else it will expire. PCNation delivery service is NOT FAIR to their clients. Their packages deliveries are sent from the original manufactory box BUT when you return the item to PCNation, they demand HIGH-QUALITY DOUBLE package $$, bubble wrap $$ standards. read more

Do not buy expensive products from Pcnation online if you live in a high rise without front desk. PCnation refuses to remove the direct signature request and Fedex never calls me to sign and pick up the packages. The service of this place is horrible. A customer service person randomly started arguing with me after I stated the problem with delivery. He said "you are lucky that we are still working and fedex will try delivering again" or "sure if you are willing to sign a waiver to assume all responsibilities of package damage" and 100 other things. That person on phone was unbelievably self-centered and arrogant. I don't know how he passes the criterion to work on sales or customer service. Also note that returns are NOT free. I will try to get a full refund since I've never even seen the products I ordered. However, if I directly process the return online, there is this tiny font line, saying that you are willing to pay $15 or 15% "returning fee", whichever is greater. Whoa. Do yourself a favor and buy your computer pieces from Amazon, they ship fast and will refund within hours if needed. I bought a pack of memory RAM from PC Nation because they seemed cheaper than other places. I read the bad reviews about the store but I ordered from them anyway. Unfortunately I had to return my order and it took FOREVER for them to send me a shipping label. Then I had to wait almost one month to receive my money back minus their restocking fee. Bought a backrest which did not feel comfortable. Went to return it with all packaging as PC Nation requested and discovered I pay return costs. UPs/Fedex/USPS would charge as much as the backrest. UPS said contact the shipper as their rate is half what I was being charged. Pc Nation said that they could not provide a return label even if I paid for it! Wow! Customer non service at its best! We normally source these rack mounted ac units through a different supplier but they did not have any inventory and of course we had an urgent need. Was able to find them at PC Nation and they were able to get them to us quickly and did a great job communicating with us during the entire process. Will definitely use them again. read more

BEWARE - SCAM SITE! I never received my order and e-mails go unanswered. Now I'm out $500 and have to dispute the credit card charge.

I ordered a mother board from them over two week ago and when I turned out to be bad I contacted them. After a week with no response I called them and I am still calling them to get it returned. This has to be the worst experience I have had with buying something on line. I recently had a bad power supply I purchased from Newegg and I had it fixed in 5 minutes and it was in the mail the next day and I had my refund two days later. A few years ago I called them to ask some questions and got a helpful CSR (though I didn't end up buying). Today I was on their website looking at an AC Adapter. One said "Open Source" and I wasn't sure what that meant. Meanwhile I had moved on to another tab but heard a sound which was PC Nation inviting me to chat. It said, "We are here to help!" So I entered the simple question asking what "Open Source" means in the description for an AC Adapter. In the course of ten minutes, all I got was (after about four minutes) "transferred to Kevin Wood," then "transferred to John Cronin" then a "Read" checkmark, followed moments later by "John Cronin has closed the chat." So I guess maybe John read it and dismissed it because he deemed it too dumb a question to waste his time on? Or because it wouldn't get him any institutional/government business (IIRC his title had those words). Or, since it was 20 minutes until closing, he was in a hurry to get out? Or Is this some sort of game to insult people? I doubt it could have been a tech glitch given the notice that my question had been read. I gave two stars because one chat insult isn't enough to entirely dismiss a company on. But it doesn't make me anxious to go there or order from them. read more

Received a Cyber Power Surge Protector/Stand By Power Battery. Cost $700.00 (a large unit) Never worked once. Called Cyber Power and they told me to contact PCNation for a refund. When I finally got through by email (they never answer their phones) I was told that they would do nothing because it had been over 30 days since I received the product. I may adjust this review after I receive the item, maybe not if there are other problems. I ordered a computer on Sunday and with their 2-3 day shipping, I was expecting it Wednesday, (tomorrow) which is the main reason I ordered from them. It isn't going to happen. I used a credit card with Paypal and they have a verification process for first time users so, don't expect your first order in 2-3 days if you are a first time customer. Had I known I would have purchased somewhere else.. Update: Received computer on 6th business day. Guaranteed 2-3 delivery appears to be a come on for a new customer. Amazing pricing, service, and product knowledge. Great "can do" attitude and personal follow up. It's rare to experience excellent customer service these days or even find a company that does more than just pretend to care. PCNation is both. I think you can tell a lot about the quality of a company by the way it deals with customer challenges. I recently purchase a top of the line notebook for my son for college, but the unit was DOA. Basically your worst case scenario for an online purchase on a deadline. PCNation stepped up to the plate and ensured the new purchase and simultaneous return was facilitated professionally. Their well documented return policies were followed without surprise. Their return team provided personal follow up throughout the process. I feel like they took the risk out of a long distance purchase. With many online purchase you have to worry about what's not being said. You place an order only to find out it's on back order. You try to return a defective item only to find out you have to deal directly with a manufacturer. Etc. These days the customer has to assume that what a company claims is not the entire truth. With PCNation the standard is simply excellence so you don't have to worry about what's in the fine print. read more

My $400 order never arrived. I work from home and was available to answer the door for any delivery that may have occurred. There was no delivery attempt at my residence. However... FEDEX did deliver it to SOMEBODY, as the package was signed for by a someone else at a different address. FEDEX claim is in processing but who knows what will happen there. This company is a nightmare to deal with as their support staff are impossible to get a hold of via email or phone. The one time I did get someone on the phone, I was told I would get a call back after some "research" was done...that hasn't happened. One would assume they insure their shipments and I would be due a refund, but as of right now I am out $400 with no status updates. My best last hope is my credit card approves the disputed charge and never deal with these people again. read more

I ordered an M.2 drive from PCNation on March 27 and canceled it the same day before it was shipped from their Carol Stream, IL warehouse March 29 at 12:00AM. According to FedEx tracking, it was returned to the same facility on April 6, having never been delivered to me. Customer service was very cooperative in issuing the RMA, but never issued credit. I have contacted them four times over the ensuing 5 weeks. They offered various excuses, but the refund has never materialized. At this point, my only recourse for my $465 appears to be to warn others from doing business with this company. I ordered a touch screen monitor for next day air delivery on a Thursday. Come Friday end of day I called the company only to tell me the product showed that it shipped, although no tracking information was available to be given nor was it on the website. On Monday end of day I called again and was told there was some sort of "warehouse error" that caused this not to ship. They did ship then next day air and waved the next day air fee but we really needed that monitor on the Friday and it came days later. read more

I placed an order on 2/09/21 for a specific part need for my business andeven spoke with the account executive Chris Martinez Enterprise Account Executive about the importance of these items being received in a timely manner. Chris stated they are in stock and will be shipped tomorrow 2/10/21. After waiting 9 days, I go to see if there is tracking info on their website. None to be found. I called the customer support number and was told that a message was sent to the account exec. I sent him an email asking for this specific information, no response. I did receieve a voice mail asking to return his call. I called back the next day, Chris now stated that they were never in stock and with the latest storm now they do not when they will be in stock. I placed an order for a computer monitor from them on Friday. I got an automated email telling me their authorization department needed to verify payment information with me. I called as soon as I could, but they were gone for the day already. I sent them an email and updated my information on my account page, and had to wait until Monday to call them again. When I called, the rep repeatedly told me my credit card information didn't match up with the bank. I kept giving him the info on the card, and he just kept repeating himself. I told him I could take a picture of the card if anything was unclear, and he told me the reason they do this is because they get fraudulent transactions. At this point I was feeling like he was accusing me of wrongdoing without saying it flat out, and I was at a loss for words. I asked him "What would you like me to do now?" And he suggested I pay with another payment source. I agreed, we agreed to paypal. Puts me on hold for a while and comes back to tell me they've actually oversold the monitor I tried to purchase. I was polite and told him to have a nice day, didn't want to cause any trouble. I felt like he was unwilling to work with me and had assumed I was trying to use a fraudulent payment source even though I could easily verify all of my information. I felt like at the end, he might have lied about having oversold the monitor to get me to give up. I'm angry because I felt like they couldn't have cared less about me, my experience buying with them, or any other customer. I waited 3 days thinking everything was going to work out okay, that they just needed my information, only to have them waste my time and treat me awfully. VERY disappointed in PCNation. Spent $700 on Lenovo ThinkPad E15 but when it arrived (next day which was great), after 2 hours I found it was too slow for my work needs. I also didn't like the number pad on the keyboard which pushes the rest of the keyboard all the way to left of the machine. I didn't see the number pad when looking at it before I bought. Tried to return it (and get another laptop) but they will not accept non-defective or undamaged laptops. So now I have to try to sell it on my own. Will never buy from PCNation again, and next time will pay more attention to the tiny print in return policies. read more

To be quite honest, I think this company is some sort of scam. I ordered an ironkey enterprise H350 hard drive from them through amazon, and that I received so thats all well and good. Problem is the hard drive requires essentially an activation code to use it which I have to purchase from PC Nation's website. Now I paid around 45 dollars for this and I purchased it 2 weeks ago and still havent received it. This is something that is just supposed to arrive in an email, and I have talked with customer service several times and every time I've been told its been shipped and Ill probably receive it within the next 24 hours. I'm furious at this point considering they are not actually doing anything to help me and they just took my money and said oh well. I would recommend to anyone that you avoid PC nation entirely, there are plenty of other more reputable and just outright better sellers out there for any electronics related thing you may need. read more
