It was my first time trying Teaspoon, the drinks options themselves looked really good! We tried the mango lemonade with mango popping boba as a topping, and caramel creme with Oreo crumbs as a topping. The service was overall quick from ordering to picking up our drinks. This was a teaspoon stand at a baseball stadium, so the place itself was small and a quick to go. I'm not sure if a teaspoon regular location would have more options. My drink itself was good! A bit too sweet for my liking, next time I would try it without the added topping. I do look forward to trying it again!
I always saw this chain on social media and was excited they offer their banana matcha in SD! I ordered the banana matcha royale, double matcha and strawberry colada smoothie with boba and no jam. The drinks were all on the sweeter side, but the double matcha was perfect. My mom liked the smoothie taste and boba quality but said it was too sweet. The banana matcha royale also was pretty sweet (maybe my fault for ordering 100% sugar) and I wasn't a fan of the banana pieces and the banana flavor was too overpowering. I would come back for the double matcha! The owner (I think) was very nice and there was a good amount of seating and parking available on a Saturday afternoon!
Ordered the banana matcha royale and double matcha both with oat milk and strawberry colada smoothie without strawberry jam and with boba. Since we usually like sweet drinks, we got 100% sugar for the banana matcha royale and strawberry colada but they were too sweet. The banana in the matcha was too overpowering and I didn't really like the banana pieces inside. The strawberry colada was refreshing and the boba was good. The double matcha was delicious and creamy and perfectly sweet at 50% sugar, which was the highest you could go. I would come back for the double matcha if I'm in the area. Service was friendly and pretty quick. Clean and cute inside with a good amount of tables.
It's been a long time since last time i visited. I was in the area so I decided to come by again. I ordered brown sugar assam milk tea and silky strawberry. They looked nothing like the pictured!!! The strawberry drink was refreshing. However the brown sugar drink was the worst that I've ever gotten. I'm saying this because I'm a boba addict and I've tried so many places. There's no brown sugar taste and it's very bitter. I had to throw my drinks away. What a waste!
Stopped by for a boba tea after eating at a restaurant a couple of doors down. It was around lunchtime but I was the only customer, that should have been a warning lol. I ordered the roasted oolong milk tea with boba and my friend ordered a Hojicha milk tea. Neither of us were happy with the tea. The Hojicha tea tasted nothing like Hojicha and my roasted oolong was extremely watery tasting, not sure of it was due to the powdered milk they use or what but both drinks were a let down unfortunately.
Came here last night. The boba place is cute and has a great selection of board games so that's fun. You can either order on your own or with the cashier. I'll be honest the service wasn't the best. My drink I did not like it was the brown sugar one it was just to bitter but my nieces Thai tea was great!
I went here last year and the drinks were great. I got 3 of them house milk tea, passionfruit and Thai tea. I asked for 75% sweetness but the quality isn't there.
I thoroughly enjoyed the boba here. As an Escondido native, it was difficult to find good boba. Sure, share tea is down the street, but if I had the choice, I think I would come to teaspoon. The price is what I expect of many boba shops. Out of all 3 drinks in the picture attached to this review, I would definitely get the Jasmine Cream again. It was rich, flavorful, but most importantly, not overwhelming. It's that nice tea taste. This shop also features a cute dining area that would be great for studying. The music playing isn't unbearably loud, so it is ideal for a focus mode environment. Service was normal, no rude experience in the visit I had. I would come back here again if I'm in the mood for boba nearby
I stopped by Teaspoon with a friend after lunch. They have a really good selection of classic and signature options. You can even create your own! I ordered a matcha royale and my friend got a liquid gold. I really liked the matcha royale. The matcha to tea ratio was good. Next time I want to try building my own. The interior space was also nicely done. There was also outdoor seating. Their wall word art was very clever, incorporating their business name Teaspoon.
I'll keep this review short and sweet If you're daring enough to select the "no ice" option, be ready to receive a cup 1/4 empty Try this elsewhere.... And you get more product for your dollar Owners / management, best of luck. People will catch on, and won't hesitate to look at another boba shop

Parking is plentiful in the strip mall. Interior is small but bright and clean. There was a small line when we arrived, much longer by the time we got our drinks and no line by the time we left. There were only two girls working but they were surprisingly efficient and the wait time was not bad for the amount of staff. We ordered: 1. Lychee on Lychee w/ boba - yum. Kind of reminded me of a sweet tea with a slight lychee flavor 2. Caramel Cream w/ boba - excessively sweet and not something any of us would order again 3. Guava Sunset with sparkling water - delicious and by far, everyone's favorite. We would all come back specifically for this! 4. Classic Thai Tea w/ boba - not bad but not the best Thai tea Overall, definitely returning and trying all the other flavors! read more

So little taro. So so little. Only two sips. The rest is all mix powder. At least put more taro there so I know I am not buying a powder mix. Disappointed. Never go back. read more

Pretty good but it took a while to get my order. The place also smells like a lot of burned brown sugar so it was kind of interesting!! read more

Whoever did this deserves a raise! My g/f and I just got back from Japan, and she fell in love with anything Miffy. We were in shock when we received our custom Valentine's Day Miffy cups! It really made our day, and we appreciate the little things like this. The fantastic service alone will have us coming back here in the future. Keep up the awesome work over there! read more
I recently moved to 4S Ranch and was sad I wasn't as close to my usual boba spots anymore. I came across Teaspoon and really enjoyed it! A plus is that it's the closest a boba spot has been to my home! I ordered the classic Thai tea and it was pretty good. I've been here a few times now and the store is never too busy. The drinks are ready fairly quickly as well, which is great. I've noticed that they also hold a lot of events at the store. They recently did a Super Smash Bros tournament to raise money for a school club, which I thought was pretty cool. I definitely will be coming back again and will keep an eye out for more events! read more
A solid boba place in 4S for the boba fans. Clean, quick order, quick and smiling service, plenty of choice with many of them including toppings. We ordered silky strawberry and strawberry colada smoothie. Both are on the sweet side with honey boba push the sugar to the top. Sweet tooth will be very happy for them Nice place with inside and outside tables and clean unisex restroom. Recommended read more

Came here on a rainy day for some boba and I came just at the right time! The boba was so soft and fresh so that was definitely a highlight of this visit. There weren't too many people inside, probably because it was raining on and off. The cashier who took my order was very nice and patient with me when I was deciding on what to order. The creamy Jasmine is a pleasantly light Jasmine milk tea. I can see why so many people love it! I also got the lychee on lychee which tastes great as usual. Hope to be back soon for an event here! read more

Teaspoon is my go-to boba place whenever it's accessible and I wish that there were more branches here in San Diego. My fave are Liquid Gold and Grasshopper. Liquid Gold is your traditional milk tea while Grasshopper is fruit and refreshing. The service was fine and their staff were friendly. Glad that this place has indoor and outdoor seating since most of the Teaspoon places i've been to are grab-and-go. read more

Came back here and was a little bummed about the lack of flexibility of the drinks regarding their sugar level. Tried to order the taro lover for a friend but was told I couldn't adjust the sugar level because the drink was "pre-made" despite the drink being "very sweet" according to the employee. Then tried to order the the strawberry colada smoothie and was also told I couldn't adjust the sweetness. Ordered the guava sunset and made it less sweet but it was still very sweet so hard to imagine what it would've been at full sweetness. It seems like some drinks here allow you to customize sweetness and other drinks don't but it's not denoted on the menu and I might've just gotten unlucky with the drinks I chose. Still, felt it was a tad awkward and unusual since most competitors allow increasing options for customizing your drink to your preferences. Ended up driving to a local boba shop 10 minutes away that allowed me to order similar drinks at the sweetness levels my party wanted. Overall I'll still be loyal to this place for their creative recipes and on days I'm looking for a big treat for my sweet tooth but will probably avoid on most days when I'm feeling more health conscious. read more

Just came in and the service was very quick. I ordered the Black Sugar Assam: "Creamy rich assam black tea infused with our signature black sugar boba." When I got the drink the boba was very warm which is good because I got regular ice. I mixed it up and the drink was sweet with a deep flavor. It almost tasted roasted in a way. I found it an enjoyable drink. The boba itself was soft and chewy, the perfect texture. I only recommend mixing it when you're ready to drink because the ice in the drink will make the boba chewier and hard throughout the time. (Similar to if you put your leftover drink in the fridge, lol). The boba straw is a bit weird and thin. But you're still able to puncture the lid so it's okay. Interior of the store was really clean and they had several tables inside and outside. The menu was easy to read and they had much more drinks this time compared to the other time I went. The noise level was quiet-average. The music wasn't as loud as last time either, you could hold conversations with this noise level. read more

Food: 2.5 Service: 2 Ambiance: 3.5 We were in the area, craving boba and found this place. I was hyped to check it out as there were good reviews and the drinks looked amazing! Upon entering the vibes are bright and fun. There are claw machines scattered throughout and some board games you can play with (thought this was a really neat touch!) There was one other customer when we walked in, and there was no greeting or welcome. There is a large screen with the menu items which makes it really easy! I ended up ordering the dirty ube, Thai tea and taro lover. My friend had been there before and really enjoyed the Thai tea. The drinks came out and they looked sooo amazing! However upon drinking my dirty ube it honestly was the yuckiest drink I've had in a long time. I could hardly taste the coffee and the ube part was like water with maybe a few drops of light ube flavoring. It was so weird! I couldn't even finish it . The taro lover drink was just ok. read more
Great selection of drinks! We got a matcha, ladybug (passion fruit), milk tea & black sugar assam. The black sugar taste like the Filipino dessert taho! It was really good. Ambiance is nice there's a lot of seats, good if u want to study. Also few claw machines. The workers are very friendly. read more

Their actual drinks are all really great. I like that they use fresh and real fruit. The latest I had was their silky strawberry which is a strawberry marmalade. The service is good, all smiles and cheery even if there's a lot of people inside. The amount of boba left after drinking the liquid is what sucks.. I wonder if it's Their skinny at the bottom shaped cup. It makes it hard, especially with the ice, to swirl your straw around to suck up more boba. read more

Just wanted to update the review and comment on their catering services! We had Teaspoon serve boba at our wedding reception and it was amazing and a huge hit! The price for catering was super reasonable. They even provided a cute wall for the boba and were so easy to work with. Highly recommend!! read more
