I came to Nova Boba on a mission to find the best Vietnamese coffee and cheese foam in San Diego, and this place absolutely delivered. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee with cheese foam and it instantly reminded me of Saigon Coffee in North Park. It has that same rich and bold flavor that true Vietnamese coffee lovers look for. The cheese foam here is my second favorite in the city, right behind Maiko Cafe in Mira Mesa, which says a lot because their foam is legendary. What makes Nova Boba my new number one spot is the simple fact that I can finally get both Vietnamese coffee and cheese foam in one drink without having to chase down a pop up at a farmers market. I was originally planning on heading to the market for that little booth that serves my favorite combo, but I am so glad I found Nova Boba instead. Now I can come here any time I want without depending on a weekend schedule. The shop itself is quiet, clean, and surprisingly inexpensive compared to many other boba places I have tried. It has a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to relax or catch up with a friend. The staff is friendly and the menu has so many options that I already know I will be back. Next time I am trying the strawberry matcha because it looked amazing. If you love Vietnamese coffee or cheese foam or you are just looking for a new spot that will not disappoint, I highly recommend stopping by Nova Boba. It is officially part of my rotation now. Service was quick and place was cute.

Beautiful boba tea shop in Poway! Very clean, plentiful indoor seating options with traditional tables, bar-setup seating, benches. There was plenty of parking. The service was friendly. Ordering was done the old fashioned way - verbally with a human! There are some drawbacks with that though with waiting in line to order and order accuracy. My drink was made fine, but my husband's 1st drink didn't have the right sugar level, and the 2nd drink he got had milk in it when he wanted the fresh tea option. My advice is to be very specific in your ordering and to triple check all aspects of your order on the visual display provided at the cash register. To be fair, each time I had the opportunity to visually confirm and I didn't. Milk defaults to a non-dairy creamer (which has milk protein) but you can get oat or almond milk instead. They have a range of toppings including cheese foam. They do not have sea cream. Each drink we got was delicious and their prices are comparable to other local shops. There is not outdoor seating. There also isn't any music playing (in case that matters-- no risk of expletives playing with kids around LOL). I think this used to be a Ding Tea. The cup had a Nova Boba sticker on it but the top said Ding Tea. A bit of a brand identity confusion, but maybe they are using through their supply. Definitely worth a visit! There are even games like Uno and Jenga available to further make you feel welcome to linger.

The Wintermelon milk tea here is really good! Although they are a bit slow sometimes when making the drinks, it's still a nice place to chill.

Went there for lunch but they are no longer offering food options. Friend got a drink and enjoyed but we left to find food.

I dropped my kid off at the baseball field (pregame) and decided to check Yelp because I had a…read moreserious hankering for a sando. This place popped up at #1, and honestly that was enough for me. I didn't even read the reviews. When I pulled up, I almost drove right past it because it's tucked inside a liquor store. But hidden gems are usually called hidden for a reason. I walked in and asked what their most popular sandwich was. The guy recommended the California Club, which happens to be one of my go to sandwiches anywhere, so I told him to make that and add pickles because let's be honest, you gotta have pickles. Now I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, the guy making the sandwich took a sweet time. I mean almost a solid almost 10 minutes, and at one point I caught myself thinking, "This thing better be incredible." Well... it was incredible. Absolutely worth the wait. Fresh bread, stacked, flavorful, tactical, and one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you immediately stop caring how long it took. In fact, after the baseball game I went back a second time and grabbed a Cobb salad for my wife. Of course I had a few bites as a delivery tax. That thing was tremendous too. When I picture a really good Cobb salad, this is exactly what I want. Packed with egg, bacon, avocado, and just the right amount of blue cheese. Not skimpy at all. The salad also took longer than expected, but honestly I'd much rather wait a few extra minutes for food that's made right instead of rushed garbage. Well done. Easy five stars.

I also don't really do yelp reviews, but I do know when to recognize someone when they deserve it. I really enjoy the chimichurri steak and bacon sandwich which comes with caramelized onions, red peppers, and a delicious herby sauce. It comes on a crispy sesame seed crusted roll and it's my absolute favorite sandwich here. I also really like the not so fried chicken sandwich so when I come with my husband we usually get both and each eat a half. The not so fried chicken sandwich comes with little crisps that don't get soggy and a fresh slaw. It comes on ciabatta bread that is usually crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This time it came with a pickled sauce on the side that was really delicious. This location has a really nice outdoor seating area. There aren't too many seats inside but the outdoor area is nice. There is also a drive thru which you can order ahead on the app and pick up through. My main issue with this location specifically is the service. It's pretty slow and I've had bad experiences with it more than once here. There have been times when I had to wait for more than 45 minutes even when I order ahead. The workers aren't terrible but also don't seem eager to improve. That being said, the food is so good and makes up for this so I will continue to come back although I wish the food came in larger portions given the cost. Definitely my favorite chain sandwich shop.
