I really enjoyed James Coffee! Huge upgrade from the previous Starbucks. People were really nice and their pastries were great. Delicious coffee and was able to work there for awhile. It was poppin' at 10am on a weekday! Good for them, definitely recommend

I did not know that there was a Jame's Coffee in North County, San Diego. I was happy to find them while I was in the area. I picked up a cortado and a gluten-free pumpkin muffin while I was here. The cortado was well made. It was smooth and rich in coffee flavor. I was very pleased that they served in the proper gibraltar glass. The pumpkin muffin was excellent. It offered a great soft texture and nice pumpkin flavor and a subtle spice flavor. The service at the counter was very friendly. When I arrived, there were several tables that had debris from previous visitors, but they quickly cleaned the tables after I mentioned it. There's a very good amount of parking at this location. They offer inside and outside seating.

Coffee was good and strong. Plain iced latte and their breakfast pastry thing. Good quality stuff, just slightly overpriced but yk it's California prices so nothing crazy /unexpected. Just wish it was like 1$ cheaper per item and that would be a lot more competitive with other options. Friendly staff though and just a solid normal California priced cafe

Second attempt to love the place but find it to be just plain okay. First try- the Rancher. I asked for more cold brew because it tasted water down. Barista was not happy about that, as she poured a few drops of the concentrate without any word. Second try - cold brew with pumpkin cold foam. The drink was actually delicious but annoyed to see the glass filled to the top with ice. Location is great but will not be my go-to.

Got a decaf espresso and a strawberry cheesecake. The two star is from the TERRIBLE wifi. I don't go out midday for coffee much but I had a goal to sit down and just trail blaze through things and wasn't able to. I know other ppl were having issues with wifi too because I saw a couple of hot spots floating around. I got so frustrated with the wifi that I just ending up leaving.

Wanted to try this new coffee place. First visit I got an iced americano. It was good and made me crack another visit. I saw someone with a cold brew with coconut milk (I asked him what he ordered) that looked refreshing as well. I agree that the wait time for what I ordered seemed long. I think this is on account of there only being 2 people up front working. Even without a long line it took at least 10 minutes for my drink. This is a Saturday morning around 9:30am. I went again today and decided to try the cold brew and an iced black tea. The cold brew was good and I would get it again. The ice black tea wasn't really dark or strong (or seemed black) and lacked flavor. I wouldn't get it again. I decided to add a growler to my order so I could take cold brew home. I'll be back. Maybe I'll try the online order to avoid the wait.

It was alright. I ordered the iced vanilla latte, it was good but after a few sips it settled and lost its flavor. I also got the ham and cheese croissant, it tasted very questionable so i stopped eating that too. There was only one person doing everything so it took some time to even get an order (this was around 0730). Unsure if i'll go back.

    siri g.

The wait time was surprisingly long--not due to a large crowd, but because it took over five minutes just to place an order. It seemed like the baristas were spending a bit too much time chatting with customers, which slowed things down, even as the line kept growing. Unfortunately, the latte I ordered wasn't great--it had a sour taste. I also got a chocolate croissant, which was decent, but the prices were on the higher side. That said, the space itself is nice, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, making it a good spot to work or hang out. I just wish the coffee quality matched the atmosphere.

Not sure if I'll be back. At least not dying to. Came in around 1130am on a weekday and no wait, although a lively patio. Employees looked up but didn't say anything until I said hi. Service was friendly when she took my order but that was the best it got. The only two employees just yappin away with each other. Latte was average. Came out super fast. Did the job but wasn't the best tasting.

We ordered two coffees that were extremely watered down. Also ordered the kids hot chocolate and they said it was just water with milk. Tried it myself and even stirred it and they were right. Chocolate croissant was good. Service was good. One and done with this place

Ive brought friends here in the past and have always gotten positive feedback afterwards. Recently though, it feels like it's lost a little of its charm. The menu needs updating because with all the crossed out items on the board, it looks a little low end and like they're out of things. But they also always seem to be out of multiple items when I come these days. There's no food options any more most of the time, but the display cases remain. And seating... it feels like they got rid of 1-2 tables and the tables that were outside. There never seems to be enough seating so it's both cramped while also empty looking now. They have these side benches to sit on, but no one ever uses them because they're not super comfortable or good to chat with anyone with. Also, the bathroom. It's usually open, but twice now Ive been in there where there's zero toilet paper or the paper towel dispenser is out, but someone has just put a roll on top to tear at your own will. I loved this place so I hate saying more negative than good. The drinks remain amazing, but for a spot that is so popular, it's losing some of its own charm.

The week before, I ordered the $7.25 Iced Blood Orange Basil Latte (seasonal special). I was eager to try it because I do enjoy citrus notes with my coffee. But this one lacked the flavors I was hoping to taste. It was all too subtle for me. I wouldn't order it again, but it was nice to try. 4-5 stars! Overall, I've enjoyed my many visits to 7 Seas Roasting & been here through many changes. I do think the coffee drinks are pretty solid and would recommend checking out their seasonal specials when they have them. My top favorites would be: dark mocha raspberry, banana split latte, and the thin mint latte. If you ever see these on the menu, I highly recommend trying them! They have ample seating, outdoors only. The baristas are alll very kind too. It's a great place to spend your time at.

If I could give this location 10 stars I would, and it's all thanks to the lovely baristas led by their manager Jules. I came to this location to redeem my hankering for their mocha, as La Jolla ran out of oat milk, which is basically my nightmare as a lactose-intolerant coffee fiend. BIG TIP: the Blue Bottle mocha is my favorite of all coffee shop mochas because a) it is dairy free and b) they use chocolate from local chocolate makers. Local business win! After the very kind barista upfront commiserated with me for not being able to get my star mocha the day before, my husband ambled up to the front and asked if they had a bag of Philippine beans to buy -- a new bean they're featuring. The manager, Jules, overheard and relayed that they sadly did not... !! BUT !! "I brought a bag for my team to try," he said. "My shift is over now... but I can brew it for you to taste, too." He didn't have to do that, but he was sooo kind to offer. And so, Jules stuck around another ~10+ minutes, all to give my husband a taste of the beans he simply asked about. What I love about coffee culture is the passion of the baristas and their willingness to share this with you. Jules, my husband, and I stood around talking about our favorite coffee spots and the coffee culture from here to LA for a few more minutes, before letting him go on about his day. Jules really understands hospitality in a way that many establishments don't get, and I truly love how it brings people together. Thank you Jules for showing us -- hospitality is not dead. I hope we get to meet again the next time we visit!

I…read moreremember it being a Rita's Italian Ice at one point, then a bubble waffle shop, and now it's BoBaPoP Tea Bar. Honestly, boba fits the area way better now, especially since more tea spots have been popping up around here. I stopped in for a quick drink and there was a steady flow of people coming in and out, which is always a good sign. Inside is clean and modern, very simple but put together. You can order at a kiosk or go up to the cashier, which makes it easy depending on what you prefer. The menu has a solid variety. All your usual milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, and blended drinks, plus a good amount of toppings. They were also advertising a matcha ice spinner which caught my attention, so I'll probably come back to try that and see how their matcha quality is. I went with a mango fruit tea at 75% sweetness and added boba. I sat outside while waiting, they have limited indoor seating but a couple tables outside which is nice. The drink came out in about five minutes, so pretty quick. First thing I noticed was there were actual mango pieces in the drink, not just syrup. That was a nice surprise and added a good texture. They were soft enough to go through the straw too, so it didn't feel annoying to drink. Flavor wise, I do wish I went lower on the sweetness. Even at 75% it was still a bit too sweet for me, but that's more personal preference. The part that didn't really hit was the boba. It was a little mushy and didn't have that chewy texture I usually look for. It also had this slightly artificial honey taste that kind of overpowered the drink a bit. Not terrible, just not my favorite. It's a solid and convenient spot for the area. Good variety, quick service, and a nice setup. I'd come back, but probably switch up the toppings next time.
