This bakery is located in an industrial park in Poway. Parking was horrible, almost none existent. We parallel parked on the street, it says no parking, luckily we didn't get a ticket. Food was okay, my hubby and son liked their sandwiches. I really don't see myself wanting to go back.

    Huge!

Omg these pastries are HUUUGE! I secretly, only slightly, wished they were smaller so that I could sample a few. The brioche cinnamon roll had a lovely crunch to the soft buttery brioche texture. I love cinnamon so do wish there was a higher filling to bread ratio, but osrsonal preference. Also ordered rhe cinnamon croissant. Nothing special, but very yummy.

This isn't our first time eating at O'Briens--we've already had brunch here before, but it's our first time having dinner with them. Let me tell you--the vibe is a bit more chill at night, but the food, the service, the staff? Still as superb as we experienced back when we had brunch here. All the staff we encountered during our dinner were so incredibly sweet and friendly. We never had to wait for someone to check in on us; they periodically asked if we needed anything or how our food was without being overbearing. And the chef--Chef Carlos Vargas--even went up to our table to ask how we liked our food! It was so thoughtful and certainly made our dinner much more special, and we were already having such a great time with full bellies as it was. The food--there's no question about it. So incredibly delicious and tasty! Even the desserts were so scrumptious. I'm beyond happy they still had some of their goodies at the bakery when we got there, so we got some sweets from there for our dessert. What we tried: White Lobster Mac And Cheese - 6/5 Hands down the best one I've ever had. Because this isn't your typical mac and cheese. There's so many layers of flavor to it. It's so cheesy and creamy without being overly salty. They don't skimp out on the lobster chunks either. The depth of flavor on this dish is just double chef's kiss! You won't want to stop eating it. Pomodoro Bianca Fettuccine with shrimp - 4.5/5 One of my favorite pasta dishes. Perfectly paired with the shrimp! Although you also have the option to either not have any protein at all or add chicken instead of shrimp. Very yummy and again, chef's kiss! Grilled Crab & Artichoke Sando - 4/5 Very filling and a great meal on its own. The crab was so sweet since it's in season right now. The bread they used was so delicious and perfectly toasted too. Iced Latte - 5/5 Amazing--my kind of latte! Creamy, but still very bold with that intense coffee flavor. I usually have my lattes sweeter, but I absolutely loved this one even without any sweetener added. Strawberry Oreo Cheesecake - 5/5 Unctuous and silky smooth creaminess, but refreshing at the same time! The strawberry flavor was very prominent in the cheesecake, but not too sweet. Safe to say this didn't last very long after we started digging into it. Turtle Pie - 4/5 Very delectable, but simple and nothing too unique about it. The cream was very smooth and yummy, especially when eaten with the chocolate cookie crust. They do have restrooms and although there's only one stall, it's so pristine--very clean and smells so good. I mean the whole entire place is always so clean and inviting as it is, any time of day we visit them. Overall, O'Brien's dinner is just as awesome as their brunch and I'm already looking forward to the next time we'll be back here!

Went to brunch on Saturday morning and were lucky enough to snag a seat upstairs. You walk in and order at the counter. Displays of beautiful looking pastries are tempting. This time we went for savory and ordered from the menu. Food was delicious, served quickly and hot. The breakfast sandwich for me and pastrami sandwich for my husband. We also got a bottle of bubbles for some mimosas. The staff were very friendly. Love that they give you a locator puck so the food and beverages are brought to you. The gentlemen bussing tables and bringing food were so attentive and accommodating to all the patrons. Will be back, and will make sure to come early before the crowds.

Every time I eat here, I am pleased no matter what I order. This time I enjoyed pancakes and bacon with the hallelujah coffee. All the food is consistently delicious and there's a huge variety of pastries.

Food was delicious. I had the peppered pastrami sandwich. Not a lot of tables inside and about 4 large picnic tables outside. Only reason for 4 stars is it's a little overpriced and you place your order then find a table. Not a true sit down place to enjoy a meal.

I've had this place bookmarked for years and finally made it out here today. The pastries, cakes, cookies and bread on display all look so tempting; but we came for brunch. I had the corned beef hash and eggs (corned beef, 3 eggs any style, home-style potatoes and hollandaise sauce on top of sourdough bread). It was definitely a hearty and delicious meal. I tasted a bit of the lobster roll: it had an ample amount of lobster and the grilled roll was fresh, light and buttery. Service was ok: they forgot to bring us the mimosas we ordered, then offered a complimentary pastry for their error & the wait, but then forgot to bring the said pastry... Covered picnic table seating outside, and indoor dining area on the 2nd floor. While you're on the upper level, you can view the employees hard at work in the bakery below.

I stopped to get lunch at Obriens as I have heard many coworkers say they have some of the best bread and pastries. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich. The ordered system may have not worked correctly since I asked for a side salad instead of kettle chips but still had kettle chips with my sandwich. The homemade focaccia bread that was used to make the sandwich was very flavorful and soft. The pesto aioli was a great compliment to the overall sandwich. I didn't order pastries this time but I will have to try them next time!

Oh hell yeah!! This is the best in Poway! I had the ham and cheese croissant so dam good. This croissant was warmed I cut in half the jamón is so delicious and not a lot of cheese perfect We walk in and pick up a menu but I passed it up and started drooling as Locked eye with a gorgeous bunch of desserts in a case I locked eyes with ham & cheese. I didn't have breakfast and I had early appt. 1chai hot with oat milk 1 Mexican mocha hot Cheddar and chive biscuits and gravy That's excellent biscuits and gravy she said I agree soft biscuits and creamy gravy with great flavor We walk up stairs it was warm up there But I was in a moment. Feeding my soul After we went to see what left all the almond croissants were gone okay I like the story i read up stairs how Escobar now own's this beautiful O'Brien's Boulanger It's so good After we pick out. Bear claw Almond paste inside with a flaky delicate french dough. I danced in my chair as bit into this We also brought home Guava Jewel So delicate and delicious too

O'Brien's has become one of our local favorite spots. The food, drinks and pastries are incredible and the staff is always so friendly. Love the recent upgrades they did to the upstairs seating area. We also love that we can see the bread production from the updates window. When you visit be sure to take time to read about the business' story, it's incredible. 10/10 recommend! Totally forgot to get any pictures of our food because we just dug right in.

O'Brien's what a cute restaurant. I came here with a group of friends after our morning hike at potato chip. I order a breakfast burrito. Super delicious!! I also order their mimosas and let me say after the 2nd one I was feeling very happy lol. We took 2 boxes of pastries to go. Omg they were so delicious we finished them in 3 days. Love all their sweet pastries, must try them all. Service was friendly and fast. Easy transaction!! Parking was a little thigh however they do have additional parking on the back!!

Suggested this place by a coworker and oh my what a great recommendation. I went 2x in 1 week. I tried the chocolate croissant, brioche cinnamon roll, ube cheesecake and a lavender matcha latte. Everything taste as amazing as it looks. I wish I could have tried more but my waistline would disagree. Loved the almond croissant and the cheesecake was divine. The cinnamon warmed up for 20 seconds is perfection. I will say I wasn't a fan of the chocolate croissant. Yet the matcha was made well. Quaint decor with both indoor and outdoor seating. I cant wait to visit again and try more menu options.

Seasonal Creme Brulee latte, Hallelujah latte, Cheese Guava Danish, Pistachio Croissant
    Tin-Trung P.

What an absolute treat! My coworker and I dropped by for a quick breakfast and it was delicious. This place had a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating, and they served you the food to your table and it came very quickly. The seating was wherever you liked, all you had to do was simply placethe buzzer they give you on the center of the table. It was like magic! We had the Hallelujah latte which was similar to a Mexican hot chocolate, not overly sweet, and you can taste coffee still. I got the seasonal latte, a Floral Creme Brulee latte. It tasted quite nice, definitely floral notes, a crunchy top, and could still taste the coffee. Would recommend if you're into a floral latte! As for the pastries, I found the Cheese Guava Danish to be super tasty! It tasted very fresh and soft, and the flavors were truly delightful. The pistachio croissant was new for me! It smelled of a pandan aroma, however, I might not get it toasted next time. I think it's more photogenic before the pistachio topping gets browned. But regardless, it was delicious.

You order and pay up at the counter, they hand you a number stand, then hunt for a place to sit. There were groups of people hanging out and "brunching", while others were alone working in laptops. Honestly, I wouldn't be able to concentrate in there with all the noise. Anyhoo, I ordered the benedict, which came with a side of potatoes. Looked very appetizing! Unfortunately, I found everything to be on the salty side, especially the potatoes. My friend ordered their breakfast "burrito" filled with veggies and a protein of sorts (please look up the menu to find out what is inside). The burrito was more like a wrap, so not your typical burrito, but it was tasty! It came with a spicy sauce on the side and fruit. It didn't really need the sauce because the burrito was pretty flavorful; but if you wanted a extremely slight kick, add the sauce. I also took home a rolled Nutella pastry. It was very rich, flaky, and drizzling with Nutella. I ate it (only half) when I got home and I remembered the guy asking if I wanted it warmed up. I should have done that. Overall, it is a great place to meet up with friends and chat up a storm. Trust me, no one will hear your conversations. Would I come back? Sure. Although it is pretty far, I would probably try one of their drinks and something else on the menu, and maybe ask for no salt on the potatoes.

But they also always seem to be out of multiple items when I come these days. There's no food options any more most of the time, but the display cases remain. And seating... it feels like they got rid of 1-2 tables and the tables that were outside. There never seems to be enough seating so it's both cramped while also empty looking now. They have these side benches to sit on, but no one ever uses them because they're not super comfortable or good to chat with anyone with. Also, the bathroom. It's usually open, but twice now Ive been in there where there's zero toilet paper or the paper towel dispenser is out, but someone has just put a roll on top to tear at your own will. The shrimp were steamed or something and barely had any flavor to them. Usually shrimp and grits they've been grilled or sautéed in addition to being seasoned. The corn I could tell was cut off a fresh cob because there was a lot of cornsilk mixed in. Did they leave that there just so I would know it came from the cob and wasn't frozen? Was kind of gross. Also, the corn was undercooked and still hard. The poached eggs were made nicely. My man ordered the protein pancakes, which came out looking beautiful, but they were dry and thick. I've made protein pancakes at home that were far better from a Kodiak mix out of a box. Both of us thought the coffee was great, I thoroughly enjoyed the Mexican mocha, Its kind of sad when the best thing on the table is coffee when you go out for breakfast and spend about $60 on the meal after tax and tip.
