Grasshopper - Lychee green tea with cucumber
    Amanda T.

It's been a few years since I've had Teaspoon and I'm glad I got to try it again! Their Grasshopper drink was very refreshing with a nice blend of lychee and cucumber. Also, it looks very aesthetic too with the gradient. My only concern is the sweetness level. I got 25% sugar, but to me, it tasted pretty much like 75% or even 100%. When I got home I added some water to it which helped with the sweetness. Other than that, the flavors were well balanced.

Great variety and amazing flavors with the drinks. Ordered to go and everything came out the way we ordered it. Nice and refreshing!

Stopped by this Teaspoon as it was on my way home. Although the store itself is small, you can order either via a self-service kiosk or at the register with a barista. Ordered a Pineapple Shine with boba. By default, the drink also comes with osmanthus jelly which it turns out, I wasn't really a fan of. It was also a good thing I checked my drink before leaving, as they had forgotten to add the boba toppings I paid extra for. This was appreciatively quickly rectified when pointed out to the barista. Located in a small strip mall, parking is readily available in their private lot.

Hoji Cookies and Cream Milk Tea (seasonal drink) - So delicious, just make sure you mix it thoroughly because it separates. Also I felt the caffeine with this one lol. The crème brûlée foam on top is yummy, I do wish there were more oreo crumbles inside. But I would get this drink again! Vietnamese Coffee - so strong, so good! Fast service, cute holiday decor inside.

Teaspoon, not always my go-to to but usually a decent option! My friend lives in Hayward so when I told him I wanted a refreshing drink he suggested Teaspoon. This teaspoon is in proximity to the college campus along with other eateries and stores. The boba shop is quite popular with many people coming in and out. You can either order on the tablet or in person then wait for your drink to be called out. There are a few tables outside which are shared with the other businesses, no seating inside but standing and waiting space. With the heat, we just took our drinks to go. Teaspoon currently has a banana series I've been curious about. I got the Banana Matcha Royale with Oat Milk and Boba. I got less sweetness and ice. The drink was so good! Very prominent banana flavor, while a more subtle matcha flavor. Even with half the sweetness it was still quite sweet. The boba was fine but some pearls were a bit harder. I feel that teaspoon drinks are usually on the sweeter end and taste-wise wise it's not always consistent. Teaspoon is a good option in Hayward for those craving tea and is near this shop. I'm not too familiar with the area but it's located off Hesperian Blvd. with a free parking lot.

After the Strawberry Colada has been shaken

Every time I order and drink their Strawberry Colada (Pineapple coconut smoothie w/ their signature strawberry jam), it's been delicious. The cashier is always courteous and friendly. I usually see two people behind the counter - the cashier and the one making drinks. Their store is spacious. It has a few tables, chairs and a couch. They have a handful of board games to play when dining in. Since I've mostly gone in on early mid week afternoons, it's never seemed crowded or very busy.

I was craving boba from Teaspoon so decided to place an order for pick up through the app. I like how simple and user friendly the app is. I also like that there are pictures of the drinks available. I previously tried their Silky Mango and was a big fan of it so wanted to try their Silky Strawberry this time around. The app said my order would take 20 min, but when I arrived within 15 min, it was already ready. The interior is small but super cozy. There are seats right outside. The drink was delicious since it was not too sweet. I enjoyed the chewiness of the boba. I do prefer the mango if I get this drink again.

Great music. Great service. Friendly wait staff. I customized my tea for an osmanthus tea with osmanthus jelly. Yummy. Nice light dessert at 50% sweetness

Goosebumps Vanishing Matcha Latte and Matcha Royale with honey boba

Love love love coming here for their matcha!! Their matcha is ceremonial grade but it's not too strong and 75% is the perfect sweetness. It also pairs really well with their honey boba which is sweet & perfectly chewy. We tried their limited goosebumps matcha drink which was a matcha latte with black sugar swirls. I was scared it was going to be too sweet or the matcha flavor wouldn't come through but it was just as good as the matcha royale! Teaspoon has easily become one of my favorite boba spots in the area.

    Green Thai Tea (Limited)
    Kaitlyn L.

Teaspoon, PLEASE make your Green Thai Tea a permanent item on your menu - I need my fix!! Green Monster (aka Green Thai Tea) - an October exclusive, understandably. But, it was super light, not too heavy on the tastebuds, and I LOVED IT here! 5/5 Creamy Jasmine (my usual milky drink here when I don't get the Grasshopper) - Refreshing as usual, and I will never turn this down. 5/5 The staff here is super nice and so efficient! One complimented my tattoos, which was super sweet. When we asked to sample the two drinks on display (Green Monster and Guava Sunset), they let us try both, which honestly prompted me to order the Green Monster in the first place. The place was also decorated for Halloween, making the vibes super cute and festive. 5/5 across the board!

Roasted Oolong Tea with house cream And honey boba --the cream curdled like spoiled milk
    Jennie N.

Not sure how this place has 4.5 stars. With so many great options in Fremont and San Jose, this place wouldn't stand a chance. The quality is seriously lacking. I ordered a roasted oolong with honey boba and house cream -- the cream was curdled and looked like spoiled milk, and the boba wasn't fresh at all. Definitely wouldn't recommend.

You can only add toppings to the fruit teas, you must try the water chestnut boba! I would recommend 30-50% sweet if you don't want your drink too sweet. It was $8.50 before tip, which is very steep even with today's rising boba prices. They also have orchid oolong tea and a guava and peach flavor which I want to try next time, as well as selling hojicha and matcha. You can sign up for rewards at the ordering kiosk. It's sour and acidic but still sweet; I do wish in hindsight I'd asked for the lime to be removed, which is part of the drink customization settings, because the lime really overpowered it and it's harder to make out the pineapple. It had a rigid cup though, seems to be decent enough quality to reuse the cup. Overall, the drink was decent, but I took off a star because of how pricey it was. Still, I appreciate the premise of all the drinks containing lime and that they have some less common drink flavors.

I'm a big fan of this particular location due to their many food options (not all iTeas offer food) and how creamy their milk tea is. When ordering food, the wait is understandable given the preparation time but drinks are usually ready within 5 minutes (I recommend ordering ahead of time through the app). My go-to order is Signature boba milk tea, 30% sweet and 30% ice. Their milk tea is on the sweeter side so I strongly suggest 30% sweet max. They go heavier on the creamer compared to other locations, which I think gives the drink a well-rounded/not watery profile. The boba is always QQ and sweet. For food, I've tried their popcorn chicken, garlic noodles with short rib, and baked pork chop rice. All were pretty good!

Once you do make it inside though, it is a fun vibe with large disco balls overhead. Their chicken fingers is what's famous. I do think their breading is nice and manages to stay crispy even after bringing it back home to eat 15 minutes later. Flavor isn't particular special. Definitely needs Cane sauce. Fun fact, if you like their sauce, I heard you can order a whole cup's worth. The Texas toast is amazing though. It's a bit sweet, a bit salty from the butter, and it's toasted for a light crisp. Absolutely delicious. Recommend getting the toast with every purchase! The tea was surprisingly not as sweet as I expected.
