Jade worked with me and my puppy, Baroness. She changed our lives; she taught me skills and so much more. She is programmed into my phone as Jade The Wild Beast Tamer. LOL Baroness is no longer jumping on people when they come in the door, and I can now do feeding and med times with my older dog without an interested interferer. It's been a huge increase in quality of life for us all. Leash pulling is much improved, and still a work in progress. Our last session was incredible. We took my girl to Home Depot, and EVERY trigger popped up; Ioud sounds, kids, chaos, moving vehicles and carts. My girl was scared but didn't bark or lunge at anyone. She did unexpectedly well. I got a 4-session package, and plan to work with Jade again later in the summer, after we have our foundational skills solid. Thank you Jade!! Your help really improved our lives. We will be forever grateful! read more

Jade is a professional, kind and helpful coach! She gives clear, concise direction. She has helped increase my self-awareness so I can provide my border collie/poodle mix all the tools for success. She is passionate about animals. She provides valuable information about your doggy's body language, developmental stage and basic body functions. She took note of my goals for him (to be a therapy dog) and has helped ease any worries I've had to achieve those goals. My dog has done much better with pulling on the leash, jumping, nipping and excitability thanks to Jade. Lastly, she is accessible and willing to help anytime. read more

I reached out to Jade because we had an adopted dog who lunged and barked at other dogs during walks. She explained how to work with Daisy without defacing her - so she was able to gain confidence while gaining trust in us as 'parents'. There was an immediate improvement, and we were able to go on walks without stress. Jade is great with dogs, but also with people - encouraging us with positive reinforcement and coaching at every step. She expertly demonstrates tools and techniques - and the psychology behind them - make training efficient and rewarding. She truly understands and values how you interact with your pet to make training work for you. If you have a behavior issue, or just want a dog that can go anywhere, call her immediately! read more

Pros: Brad is amazing! His training methods are different than anything we are used to; but they work. I really like that his training principles are not based on dominant/alpha theories. Instead, the dog and I are partners; we work together. They are very professional and organized. Our previous dog died and we did not want to take our new dog to our previous trainer (not Team Canine). I found the previous trainer (not Team Canine) to be cruel and domineering. I am so glad we found this place. Cons: Few parking spaces, but plenty of street parking read more

I just received the best text - we are in the middle of moving to a new house and our friends took our pup for the day since they have a great fenced in yard and they said she was such a good listener now and behaving so well! I seriously sit and beam with puppy momma pride! I knew she was well behaved now with me and the hubs but the fact that I got that text from a friend who doesn't know the ins and outs of the training we went through just made me want to cry tears of joy! Jade is amazing. We have a pit mix who is the sweetest and under all that energetic jumping and happy tail syndrome, we knew we had a really good girl....she just needed some help. Jade's approach proved to be the best. I admit, we tried the dominance thing - the yelling, spanking etc. trying to get her to behave, but every approach Jade used was the opposite - and IT WORKED. Let's be honest - the dog training isn't about training the dog - it's about training the humans. It is a lot of work for the humans but it's totally worth it to have a great dog who is awesome on a leash, well behaved in public (and at friend's houses) and a dog who gets compliments on her behavior all the time. I recommend Jade one million percent. She is so kind, so patient and so knowledgeable. She works with your schedules and comes to your house. Our first few visits were at our house and then our last was at a Lowes. She relates all the training to real life - shes able to relate it back to things that totally make sense. I LOVE JADE! You need to call her right now if you have a misbehaving fur baby. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT ONE BIT...seriously....like I want to hug her right now! read more

After my fiancé was finally at his wits ends with our recently adopted shelter dog, it was time to call for help before she ended up back where she came from. Jade came to our home, and her love for animals truly shows. She was very patient with our dogs, and gave us lots of good information to help our pup succeed in our home with our house rules. My boyfriend really took the information to heart, and training our little one has become a team effort. Jade was reasonable priced, quick to help, and she helped me keep my puppy! She even called 2 days after on training session to see how everything was going. I couldn't be more grateful! read more

What do you do with a 300 pound gorilla? Okay, how about a 200+ pound English Mastiff? Brad and Tammy Jaffe are the ULTIMATE Obi-Wans of dog training. Their positive reinforcement and self-trained dog philosophies are easy on both owners and dogs. Our English Mastiff, Bentley was with them from puppy socialization (critical), through all obedience and Canine Good Citizen classes. We were left with a very large furry gentleman who blessed our lives with years of joy, soothed the troubled souls of Alzheimer's patients, kissed babies, shook hands in 3 languages and even appeared in their training dvd, Dogological. They were there for us when we lost our gentle giant to heart failure, assisted us in rescuing two other mastiffs and helped research another from a breeder who will be arriving any day. How's that for "service after the sale"? They are truly part of our family now, and we are forever grateful for all they've taught us, and for the heart they've shown when ours were broken. Brad's book, "Conversations With Courtney" is a must read for all pet owners with his acute insight into the minds of dogs. If you're buying a puppy, PLEASE read this book! Insight! Tammy (TJ) can sense what's going on with a dog from across the street! Sorry, but certain "experts" can keep their "pack mentality" along with their spike collars, choke chains and egos. If you want to truly share life alongside a perfect companion, you go to one place. Team Canine. Period. End of story. read more

Our 6 month old bullmastiff puppy needed some obedience training. As part of my research on the breed, I had read several places that this type of breed needs to be trained at a young age due to their size. I looked to Yelp to find some trainers and found Team Canine. I called and spoke with one of the owner's Brad because I wasn't sure if private or group training was needed. I expressed my concerns on what we wanted to work on with our puppy, and he suggested the group training Basic Manners class. The classes were very informative and they were always very good with answering questions to specific situations. They also gave extra help or attention when needed. I would highly recommend Team Canine. read more

Jade was amazing. Her knowledge and experice is vast and with her help the improvement we saw with our puppy was extremely quick. She really knows what she is doing and we honeslty want to use her more in the future once our puppy gets older for more advanced training. She can literally train any dog and I would recomend her to any one who needs help. Thank you so much! read more

Jade provided me with personalized training sessions for my puppy at my house. She teaches an approach that helped me understand why my puppy behaves the way she does and a framework for ongoing training throughout her puppyhood. Her goal is to help the owner learn how to train their puppy to be good a citizen. She was very patient with both me and my puppy, and she always takes a positive, not punitive, approach to training. Jade answered all of my questions on what products to purchase - her advice has been very helpful. My puppy is on her way to being an obedient dog thanks to Jade! read more

So pleased with the help Jade provided. We just completed four training sessions and can't believe the difference it made. Before Jade, we had completed all levels of training at a big chain pet store and, while our dog Cabo could do all sorts of commands, we still struggled with obedience (taking things and eating them, jumping to greet people, etc.). We thought that that was just the best our dog could do. But when my husband and I found out we were expecting our first baby we knew we had to at least try for something better. We didn't want our dog taking a baby's toys, jumping on my pregnant belly, or swallowing things she shouldn't. Jade helped big time! She had a compassionate approach that is also very effective. She "gets" dogs and what makes them tick and turns that knowledge into smart training that actually works. I appreciated that her approach was positive, without shock collars or negative reinforcement, and not treat based, since you don't always have treats in hand. Now that our baby is here we can leave out toys (never thought that could happen!) without fear of Cabo stealing them. We can also bring guests to our house without Cabo jumping on them. The work isn't "done;" Jade made sure we understood that we will have to work with Cabo her whole life so she stays on top of her new skills, but things are so much better than before. Jade gave us and Cabo the skills we all need to succeed as a family of four. read more

I was at my wits end trying to harness the energy of my Vizsla puppy Finnegan. He was literally bouncing off the walls and various pieces of furniture in my house. I was seriously in need of my own personal dog whisperer. A client who owns two Bull Mastiffs highly recommended Team Canine to me, and after a one-on-one training session at my house, I will happily recommend them to all of you in Yelpdom. Their training techniques are based on positive reinforcement and a true understanding of dog psychology. They have group classes in addition to the personal training. I am definitely going to enroll in the group obedience class. read more

Team Canine really made a difference for us. We brought our timid and fearful Rhodesian Ridgeback here for puppy socialization and she went from a wallflower to completely confident with other pups. The first session we didn't push it since we didn't want to overwhelm or frighten her but every week her confidence increased exponentially. We also completed a puppy class here and our girl learned how to be a well mannered dog and is now competing in agility. I believe Team Canine gave her a great foundation and she is so easy to work with now. read more

They are great! every bit of advice makes total sense, and if you just take time to practice their simple techniques you and your dogs lives will be much easier and more fulfilling. I have seen a huge shift in my dog's behavior since taking her to their basic manners class. It is well worth the money!!! read more

We have a 6 yr. old, 80 lb. English Cream Golden Retriever with no training. He is a very gentle, lovable, pleaser of a dog.... but he had no recognition of personal boundaries, door greeting skills, and knew very little in the way of leash training. Whenever we encountered another dog on a walk, I wanted to turn the other way and avoid the situation. He would lunge, bark and just get WAY out of control. Training with Jade changed all this. After 4 training sessions, our dog is a pleasure to walk, we can take him in stores, the door isn't such a big deal anymore, and encountering other dogs is not a problem. What we realized is the training is for us as much as our dog. Jade talked, we listened & practiced with our dog, and our experience with him is completely different. Thank you, Jade! read more

We finished a set of four training sessions yesterday going hiking with our dog Jojo and it was just wonderful! Jade was very clear and thorough on how to be building our relationship with our dog and what to expect as we practice all the different techniques she showed us. We are very satisfied with her work. Thank you so much! Ana H. read more

This morning was the 4th lesson (there's a great deal on a 4-lesson package) we had for our almost 4-year old Airedale that we got last August from the Humane Society. It was obvious when we got Gabby that she had not been treated well by her prior owner, and the online research wasn't helping, nor were the lessons at Petco or the Cesar Millan DVDs we borrowed. Jade was recommended to us by our vet. As many others have noted, it's not just the dog being being trained, it's the owners, too. We have learned so much on topics like barking, getting her to come when we call her, dealing with visitors at the front door, coming across other dogs (or just them barking behind fences) during walks. Jade has shown how to handle these and other situations, and we've learned that to be successful, we have to be consistent. We've made good progress over the past month and we'll continue to apply the lessons we've learned. And if we run into any issues, Jade can be reached by phone or text to guide us through. I expect that we'll sign up for more lessons but over the next month or so, we'll be practicing and consulting our notes. Bottom line is that I'd highly recommend Jade. And I appreciate if she's running a little late, she'll call or text in advance; not many service providers coming to my home do that. read more

We are taking our puppy to the class and it has been very helpful to us. He's been learning how to play nicely with other dogs in a fun, safe environment with other pups. We've also gotten helpful tips from the trainers. It's a great place! read more

Jade was wonderful and helped us immensely with Finley our 3 1/2 year old Morkie. Jade is patient, well-trained and very informative with her descriptions as to why a dog does what he does. She explained what we needed to do for our dog and ourselves to have a complete family package of love, listening and affection. Highly recommend! read more

We were quite excited to find a facility that offered 'puppy socialization' but the excitement quickly turned to disappointment last week when we brought our 16-week old to a session (BTW, our pup is only about 22 pounds, hardly a "bruiser"). The idea is to allow the puppies to play and interact with each other; however, before the class began, the owner took our dog, along with another puppy (about the same size dog) and, without explanation, kept both puppies on leashes, severely limiting their ability to play with the other dogs. Note - neither our dog or the other showed any sign of being aggressive or too 'physical' - they were both showing normal if not subdued behavior for puppies. What was most distressing was that, while he was limiting their ability to play, he actually dragged our dog (flipping him over a time or two against my puppy's will) while he was looking elsewhere at other dogs. He kept the two dogs on leashes for the entire session so they barely had a chance to play without any explanation why. What was particularly galling is, halfway through the session, he gave our dog back to us to keep with us (doing the same with the other puppy) while he and his staff sat on the floor in the middle of the room with all the other puppies and played/interacted with them. We were made to feel like our dog was abnormal or a problem - it was quite insulting. The advice I would give is, if your dog is over 10 pounds, don't bother....they doted on the very small dogs. read more

I have taken two of my babies to Team Canine! Both have achieved Canine Good Citizen standing. I love these guys!!! The classes are fun, supportive and informative. I don't know how I would have survived the early years with my buggers without these weekly sessions. I HIGHLY recommend Team Canine, Inc and their positive approach to training. MANY THANKS TO TEAM CANINE!!! read more

Being a first time dog owner, I was handed this 2.5 lb little bundle of joy and had no idea what I was doing!! Jade was an incredible support for me during Coco's puppy stage when I was frustrated. Her lessons and advice not only worked effectively, but they resonated with me far more than some of the mainstream dog training methods. Jade is a true professional and expert in her field. I highly recommend Jade to anyone looking for an effective dog trainer no matter breed or behavioral issue. She will take wonderful care of you and your best friend! read more

Years ago I had a Jack Russel who was very 'alph'. Brad worked with us and my Jack Russel became a happy, obedient dog. Brad was never harsh or mean, and our dog responded beautifully. I had vets comment on what a well behave Jack Russel he was! I now have a wonder chihuahua, who is sweet but stubborn. Brad and Jade are great my puppy is already responding. I love this group and the philosophy. It is more price they 'puppy mill' trainers, but sooo very worth it. read more

Let me start by that was the best $125 I have ever spent. My 3 yr old rescue puggle would pull on a walk and it was very frustrating. Jade said she would be at my house at 7:30 am and she rang the bell at exactly 7:30. We spoke for a few minutes about the problems the dog has and the bad habits I had in trying to walk her. So we put the leash on her and off we went. My dog did not pull the whole walk. Jade talked and walked me through the whole walk and it went perfectly. She mentioned that not all dogs get it so quickly so I must be lucky and now I'm looking forward to our walk tonight instead of dreading it. read more

Our dog, Theo, improved after just ONE visit. We could not believe it. We adopted Theo when he was just 11-months old. After a few weeks, we realized we needed help. We have had Golden Retrievers forever, but Theo was more active than most and was clearly outsmarting us. Jade's method worked well. The lesson started the minute she walked through the door and saw his door manners (or complete lack thereof). She educated us on the WHY and HOW of everything. Through her visits, we were able to understand how Theo thinks and we (I) quickly realized that I could not treat him as I had treated other Goldens. Yes, he still gets far too much love (is that possible), but we have to be very consistent with him and have clear (black and white) rules. Once he realizes there is a rule and after he fails to break hit, he falls right in line--and I think he is actually quite proud when he "gets it." I think he really knows when he is being good. :o) His behavior has improved considerably; the house is much calmer, and our current dog (Bailey) likes Theo more. What I like best about all this is that I (the epitome of a dog lover) can actually do this. It makes sense. It is gentle, and it is loving. I liked Theo from the start, and I wanted to keep him, so getting Jade and learning the methods was essential to be able to do this. We still have a long way to go (door manners are still a problem -- never realized how many people don't visit us), but we are getting there and he (we) get better every day. I am recommending Jade to everyone. read more

It was my first time raising a puppy on my own, and after about a year of trying to train Skully myself, I decided I needed some help. I contacted Team Canine and got in touch with Jade. The difference in Skully's manners since we began our training sessions is tremendous, as well as the difference in my ability to properly handle her. Jade has taught me how to further understand what my dogs' body language is really saying, and how to respond to various behaviors. I like Team Canine because they teach you how to work with your dog in a non-combative, respectful manner, while still adhering to the pack mentality that is inherent in all dogs. I definitely recommend Team Canine if you really want to get to know your dog and learn how to work with them in a positive way. :) read more

It cost us 250. For Jade to show us how to have our dog sit by our leg. She did more talking than teaching.

We have a 3 year old boxer mix who was a rescue and we did not know much about him other than he had been left in back yard for the first 1 1/2 years of his life. A sweet dog but very anxious and poor socialization skills. Much like one other reviewer, we would go on a walk and he would lunge, bark, snap and generally freak out about other dogs and people. When someone came to the door he would want to eat them. If someone came in the house I would have to remove him. When my family came over he would jump on them and knock the grandchildren over. I started him in dog obedience classes but he got too anxious with other dogs. I hired a trainer to come to the house, she trained with a clicker and treats and despite daily practice and a lot of money we saw very little change. We are dog people and have had many dogs and trainers during our 48 years of marriage but we were despairing and the other trainers made us feel bad about our dog. Then we found Jade! We saw a change in him after the first session! The second session she walked in the door and he immediately sat without command at the site of Jade! Jade understands the canine mind and can read your dog and teach you how to manage your particular dog. She will be honest with you about your dog. After four sessions, (one of which was with my family and grandchildren) and daily practice with no clickers, treats or rough commands he is a new dog. He is a pleasure to take on walks, has progressed in his door manners and can be around others in our home. He still has a ways to go because Rome wasn't built in a day, so we continue our training on our own and see progress every day. As some of the other reviewers have stated she is amazing and I would recommend her with 6 stars if that were available. She also makes herself available to answer questions in between lessons. I was dumbfounded by that because no trainer I have ever had offered that to us! She is fantastic and a blessing to our 4 legged companions. Call her today!! read more

We had, last Fall, lost our two Silky Terriers. Their deaths were only two months apart. We were devastated. How could we ever be happy with any other pets. Five months later we saw a young, (8 week old), yorkie poo puppy and fell in love again. He is an active little ball of energy and very intelligent, (Don't we all say that)! I called Brad for help with his training because this time we were determined to correct any bad habits we had inadvertently allowed our previous dogs. We all now attend the socialization classes. Now, at four months old, our puppy is a joy to have in our lives, he has adapted to other dogs, people, and situations with calm, enthusiasm, no barking, and it is such a pleasure to be able to walk him or bring him with us without the fear that someone else with a dog will cross our paths leading to pulling of the leash, barking and a bit of aggression. I would highly recommend Brad's socialization classes for any breed or size dog. In a way I am the student learning an entirely new way of training our new puppy and it has paid off with the knowledge that wherever we go with our new puppy he will behave making our lives and relationship with our new family member a joy. read more
