Terrible tea and the place is filth. Right after making my order I saw a small cockroach crawling on the wall. Yikes, not a good sign. And to top it off the drinks watered down and flavorless. I ordered the Thai tea with boba and it literally tasted like water with some flavor and food coloring. My friend got a Vietnamese coffee which should have been good because it's really hard to mess up Vietnamese coffee, yet it tasted very bitter and old. Also, to top it off, we ordered light ice for both the drinks and the woman who gave us our drinks told me that they gave the coffee extra room because we ordered less ice. I don't know why this place is trying to penny pinch like that, I don't think and extra half inch of drink would have really cost that much especially since it literally tasted like instant coffee. The one good thing I have to say is that the popcorn chicken was pretty good. It was a much larger portion than I was expecting and it was actually pretty tasty. If it wasn't for the cockroach I might even go back to get it again. Great boba spot! The boba is soft and they have all the typical drink flavors, plus more. Their boba milk tea is tasty, but on the sweeter side. Came here to study, but the music is pretty loud and the place gets pretty busy, so if you prefer a quiet environment to study in I wouldn't recommend this one. Got a taro milk tea with mini boba. Price was standard for the portion served. The mini boba was well prepared but I felt pretty meh about the milk tea itself. I can't really put my finger on it but it was a less than ideal experience. This has to be my top boba spot! I was recommended to this place by my classmate (Jonathan S.) who actually works here. I was in the area on a Thursday night and I said "why not?" So, upon arrival the parking lot is really small and crowded I had to park next door at the Jack in the Box parking lot; this would be the only con. However, you can't go wrong with ordering their popcorn chicken, seasoned fries and boba! It's hands down the BEST. I ordered the seasoned fries and Oreo shake boba and I enjoyed it. My friend ordered the popcorn chicken and the banana Oreo shake and she loved it as well. The food also looks really yummy, but we were looking more for a snack than a meal. Postmates order: Popcorn chicken, mild - 4/5 Sweet potato fries - 5/5 Fried tofu, mild - 5/5 Large Wintermelon milk tea - 2/5 Vanilla slushie, add fresh mango - 3/5 I love Wintermelon tea and am always on the hunt.. and this place is not it. It tasted 100% like regular milk tea. Pass if you are looking for actual Wintermelon flavor. The vanilla slushie was basic and good though for an extra $1.50 the fresh mango was not (it was hard and un ripe and didn't fit through the straw). On to the best part: the snacks! The chicken was very good: not dry or over fried and the pieces were very large. The portion was also sizable. The mild meant very light seasoning but it was what we wanted (4/5). Sweet potato fries were perfect and not too salty. Lots of large pieces and they were all still very crispy, even from a postmates order that wasn't priority delivery (5/5). The fried tofu was by far the best. It was fried nicely and the tofu inside was so soft and melted in your mouth! I will be back just for that tofu (5/5). My only negative comment about the food is that I WISH THERE WAS SAUCE!! I even asked in the postmates order but it just seems like they don't offer (the brown sauce that came with the tofu was incredibly salty and inedible). Some sweet chili sauce with the chicken or tofu would've been perfect! Sadly I didn't have any at home but maybe it's a sign I should start carrying myself. I was in the plaza and decided to stop in because I was thirsty. Tea Spots is located close to many eateries and across the street from PCC. I used the self-order machine and was in and out quickly. All in all, I was in there about 7 minutes. DRINKS: Winter Melon Green Tea + Boba (half sweet and easy ice): the winter melon green tea is good but it's pretty basic you can't really mess it up. The boba is not chewy and a bit tough in the center. Coffee Milk Tea (half sweet): the coffee is pretty bitter which my husband likes. PARKING: It's a lot with lots of parking. I will say at times it gets really busy with all the eateries and when PCC/ school was in session (pre Covid). It wasn't too bad this afternoon. I was able to find parking right away and do what I needed to do. There are street parking too in the residential area. Overall, I give it 2/5. There are other drink places in the area or in the 626 areas that is way worth the drive and time. read more

I absolutely love how this place is close to PCC. Parking is difficult to find, but it is no fault of the restaurant. I like to get their Crispy Chicken Rice Dish (Spicy) and add on a large green tea for only $2.50! I also recommend their Crispy Tofu; it is so delicious! I first came to TeaSpots back in 2017. I was a student in Pasadena City College and this was a favorite spot to have lunch. I really enjoyed the Teriyaki Meatballs during the lunch special, priced at $9.50. It was 5 stars. At some point, they changed the ingredients around in 2018-2019 and it tasted frozen or less fresh. I moved on and then I revisited in 2022, the prices increased to $12.50, and The Teryaki Meatball lunch was the same or less taste. My dad, sister and I enjoy the Hainan chicken rice dish very much. My dad likes getting the oolong tea with lychee jelly, which adds a touch of sweetness to the drink. My sister and I like the taro milk tea with a quarter sugar which is sweet enough. I also like getting green tea with lychee or rainbow jelly. The parking lot is terrible. We ordered two Taiwanese shaved ices and a spicy crispy chicken, extra spicy fried tofu. Shaved ices were matcha / magno / condensed milk / mochi ; taro / kiwi / condensed milk / red bens. I had a very bad experience on 2/18/2022 at this store. I purchased crispy tofu and chrysanthemum tea through self-order machine done by 9:53pm. I waited more than 20 minutes, but got nothing. I tried to ask where my order was, other customers came after me also had the same issue. The staff searched from a crowd of papers, but nothing found. The other one asked what I ordered, I told her to search on computer. The third staff used computer to check out there was an order made by 9:53pm. The staff who searched papers said chrysanthemum tea was unavailable at that night, I answered the computer machine showed available. He just said sorry sorry... but didn't address my issue, and then went to kitchen. All the other staff did their own busy work instead of looking at my case, until I said loudly to request the refund. After finishing the refund, I followed the other group of customers to talk with other staff, complaining the computer system was failed, how came such inconsistency of available occurred. I showed my unsatisfactory again. She called her co-worker who searched paper orders to say with me, but he gave me very bad attitude and said "If you are still very unhappy, we can offer free for you." The time was 10:37pm, I felt I couldn't accept the offer without problem solved, I left. The next day 2/19/2022 noon I hardly made a phone call, and talked with the senior staff, he said he would go to the shop at night and see what was happened, I left my contact number to him for followup. At around 10pm, I still not received any response yet, I made a phone call again. The staff said the day before was busy, and he would send my complaint to boss in few days for followup, as the followup would be the shop's internal review, I couldn't involve anymore at this stage. He just said free items would credit to me when I come again and show evidence. I want the owner to read my post. I buy food and drink at this shop more than 4 years. The problem I came across not only the order missing, but also a series of horrible mistakes, such as staff handling customer's concern, computer system. My experience was very bad and unacceptable. Please review my complaint seriously and give a proper response if you want to improve and ask me to come again. read more
