Ambiance: it's a takeout boba tea shop located in the end of the food hall Service: very fast and friendly, and accommodated to special request Drink: standard Tea Maru menu Maru Milk - *** mixed with Mango and Brown Sugar boba, very sweet taste Price: each drink costs about $8 plus add-on

Okinawa Milk Tea (several sips in :)) and the delicious sweet treats from Tea Maru, delivered via Door Dash
    Jen E.

Got hooked on Tea Maru recently, and by chance: via add-on to a Door Dash order. Figured why not give this boba a try...and was surprisingly impressed. I've now ordered from here twice and the drinks/boba have been fresh, delicious...even tonight's late night (15min before closing) order. My favorites are the Hokkaido and Okinawa Milk Tea with Boba. I also added on a Salted Caramel cookie and something about it NAILS exactly what I crave in a cookie: salty, caramel-y, crispy-chewy goodness. These are by "Sweet Sweet/nonGMO-Manifesto" brand and pre-packed but so good...the fact that they are packaged actually has made me load up on multiples in my 2nd order (including their Toffee Crunch Blondie and Chocolate Chunk Movie). Currently sipping on my drink and in heaven. What a perfect Friday night treat. Worth grabbing to-go or ordering delivery.

Love this spot. I'm addicted to their Okinawa milk tea! Their house made boba is good too & the staff is always nice. Located inside the Corporation Food hall which has a lot of good food options to pair with your boba drink!

Maru Milk with Brown Sugar Boba

We were in the area walking through downtown LA when we saw this boba shop near us. We had a little difficulty finding it till we realized that this was located in a food venue (at the back of the venue) with other restaurants. When we got there, the employee had just started making the boba so we were asked to wait 10-15 minutes before our drinks could be made. We were definitely a bit happy knowing that we'd be getting fresh boba. I ordered a Maru Milk (their most popular drink) with crafted brown sugar boba, less ice, and 75% sugar. The person I was with ordered a similar drink with no ice and 100% sugar. I was pretty disappointed after receiving my drink. The boba was quite firm (hard to chew) and flavorless. I asked the employee if it's supposed to be that firm and they confirmed it was. I've had boba multiples times before this and from my understanding, boba is supposed to be a little chewy. This tasted like it wasn't made properly and every tapioca ball I had was tough. The milk wasn't that bad so that's the reason why I'm giving this a 2. Not sure if I'll go here ever again.

This place is located in Food Hall! First time trying Tea Maru and I got the Hokkaido milk tea, Milk Maru, Mango, and black milk tea with cheese foam for me and my friends and all the drinks were so yummy! We liked that everything can be adjusted to your preference. The boba is sweetened so even if you get a 0% sweetness drink it will still be a bit sweet!

Two thumbs way up! After a few laps around the block to find parking (hey, it's DTLA after all), we made it to Tea Maru. The shop is tucked in the back left corner of an awesome food hall. The staff was so-so nice!! Upon her suggestion, I got the Maru Tea, but with lactose free milk. So cool that they offer that! The drink was awesome. After 10-15 shakes (kind of fun in itself), the drink was perfectly balanced, sweet, milky, and the house made boba was perfectly cooked and chewy. Honestly the best part is that you can get some snacks from different stalls in the food hall, pair it with your drink, and have a good time! I recommend getting some amazing beef patties and coco bread at Island 2 Table--goes great with your Tea Maru Tea. Definitely coming back. Already plotting my next visit and seeing what food and drinks I want to get next time!

Love that this is such a close milk tea / Asian tea spot by home! Matthew was here tonight and he was so helpful and patient with explaining all the different flavors the menu had to offer(: I got the Maru Milk because I just got done with gym time, might as well treat myself lmao xD Thanks Matthew for being such a delightful energy! ^_^ Highly recommend this spot for anyone on the fence about it!! Get the Maru Milk to start with if you are craving something sweeter and the Wintermelon Iced tea craving a lighter non dairy drink.

Grapefruit Fantasy With Boba & Wintermelon Lemon

Overall: 3.9/5 (Ubereats Delivery) We decided to try this place since they had a BOGO deal on Ubereats. The projected delivery time was 10-25 minutes but we got an Uber biker so it took 30-35 minutes. The drinks were intact but there was a bit of milk tea droplets inside the bag so I'm not sure where they came from. We kept the drinks in our fridge for a few days and they were still good so I'm pretty impressed. The non-milk drinks taste better though so I would not keep a milk base drink for more than a day. Another great thing is that even though I got no or less ice, the liquid level was still near equivalent to a regular ice drink. After trying all their drinks, I would say Tea Maru is way better at fruit teas than milk teas. Wintermelon Lemon, No Ice, 75% Sweetness ($5.99): True it's name, you can taste both wintermelon and lemon. If you leave the drink in the fridge longer, you start to get more of the bitterness from the lemon and it will taste more like lemonade. Taro Storm, 100% Sweetness With Housemade Boba ($7.84): This was the worst drink of the batch. The blended milk was like borderline bad and gave my brother a stomachache. The drink and boba had no taste at all so we threw away a nearly full cup. Grapefruit Fantasy, Less Ice, 75% Sweetness ($6.75): The grapefruit is subtle and drink was sweeter than the other drinks so I don't know what's up with their sugar level measurements. However the 75% sweetness level works for this drink. Maru Milk With Boba, Less Ice, Lactose Free Milk ($6.75): This is their brown sugar milk drink which was okay. I feel like their brown sugar syrup to milk ratio was a bit off since I tasted more milk after each sip. Their boba has a softer texture but is pretty flavorless.

I have had Tea Maru in the SGV and was happy to see it was near my work. They make their own boba, but not sure if this place actually does it there. Didn't realize it was in a food hall, but I'll take it. It's a small little stand and the menu seems a bit limited, but I was able to get a winter melon lemonade with mango boba. My friend got the same. They were out of the strawberry boba but the mango was good. Overall a good place to grab boba. The worker was friendly and the drink was good.

    Receipt

Service was horrible. I ordered from you guys twice and both times i was charged for cheese foam and every time it came without cheese foam.

    Lynn T.

Asked if they had a strawberry smoothie and it wasn't a smoothie.. it didn't have a lot of flavor to it.. very underwhelmed with the drink.

I'm not sure what some of the other people reviewing on here are drinking but it ain't the same as what I had. I got the mega mango with lychee jelly. They claim this is a house made drink and well it sure taste like it. There is nothing mega or mango about it. From the photo you can tell it looks like majority water and maybe some sugar for flavor and food coloring. I don't taste any mango at all. The lychee jelly taste bad. I always get lychee jelly from all boba spots and this was the worst tasting. Now for the parking, I wouldn't even considering coming to this location at all now that I know the drinks are horrible but also since the parking is crazy, I almost skipped out but found a parking spot a block away as I was leaving. They have some good food spots in the hall, if I didn't already plan on eating elsewhere I would have tried something out in here. Basically won't be coming back and neither should you, at the minimum don't get this drink

There's fabric couches on the floor that are dingy and weird, people take up way more space than they should so you have to awkwardly wait for someone to get up and leave and take their spot. People are kissing and being super PDA even though you're one millimeter away from them. If an orgy started here I really would not be surprised. The tea is given to you in a teeny tiny cup, so you'll need to get up a lot to go get your refill and money's worth. Then you're worried some vulture will swoop in and take your spot. Looking around, I can see it's a very profitable place for them seeing as it's $50 a head for a pretty mid experience. This place is literally the definition of looks can be deceiving. It looks beautiful, spacious, and enticing on instagram but it's small and weird. If you're claustrophobic or easily grossed out, spare yourself. Oh, and if you have to go to the bathroom you'll have to go do that barefoot, too. It's also in a super sketch area so if you aren't lucky enough to get parking right out front then good luck. I want my $100 back. Do NOT recommend. Soo many better places in LA.

Plenty of options. My wife and I tried out the pear and hibiscus teas respectively and they were just right: not too sweet. The sandwiches were great with slight asian influences to them.
