I may have just found my new go-to boba spot in little Tokyo! Came here after a nice meal next door, looking for a sweet treat post savory goodness. The employees were very welcoming from the get-go! The gentleman offered my party some matcha shaved ice samples as they had just gotten the ice cream machine delivered that day- that we graciously accepted! It was giving a mix of dip n dots and shaved ice, not my favorite but my coworker loved it and ended up ordering some. I opted for the classic classy matcha latte, 50% sugar, with boba- and it was on the mfn money. The matcha they use is some quality stuff, not your typical Starbucks-esque, but also not bitter and earthy. The sweet kick from the boba was just enough to tie the whole drink together. My other coworker got the mango matcha latte, 50% sugar- delicious as well. If I was going for something a little more refreshing, that would have been a great choice. Decided to try this place on 04/22, as I was already in little Tokyo and really liked their menu. Well, to my surprise went there at 6:37 pm(they close at 7:00 pm) and the doors were locked, even though the sign said they were open. A lady and her son told me that the person working said he was going to take out the trash and would be right back. Besides the lady and her child, there were 4 other teenage boys waiting as well. Waited for 10 minutes, and he never returned, so I just left. Hopefully the others that were waiting were able to get their drinks. I mean I don't understand, if you close at 7:00 pm, wouldn't it make more sense to take out the trash after the store closes, and not during business hours? The shop is very small and you can self order at the kiosk. The drinks are very over priced in my opinion and everything is an add on. The base price is already almost $7 and I have to add on if I want caffeine ?! 10.43 for a coffee is crazy. Staff is nice and helpful. read more

Wanted to get a drink before catching my bus. And the guy at the counter was NOT it. He was being snarky but like helpful for first timers. He had us take the order on the tablet which is fine. However he made my drink incorrectly and wanted to be smart about it. I ordered an iced caramel latte, and he gave it to me hot. I let him know it was iced and he poured my hot coffee over ice. Which made it taste AWFUL. My friend got a strawberry matcha which was beautiful and she loved it. I really wish I would have liked my drink too. This is a cute place. It's also efficient, since you order at the screen and wait, which is nice if you just want a pick me up. The person working was friendly and my coffee was ready quickly. I purchased a large pistachio coffee thingy, and added espresso since it was going to be a long day. There are TONS of pistachios, and it's perfectly sweet, but not overly strong tasting. 4th visit and at this point I'm basically in a committed relationship with 17Rootea. I got the caramel macchiato with oat milk AGAIN and yeah... they ate. It's smooth, not doing too much on the sweetness, and the caramel is just vibing perfectly. You won't find your traditional boba milk teas here, instead they focus on sourcing clean ingredients like organic boba so you can still sip on healthy and yummy drinks without any of the guilt. Pistachio mango avocado smoothie -- sounds crazy I know but it all works so well together. And I didn't drive 80 minutes just for one drink, so I got 3 hehe. I stopped by bc I was waiting in line for udon. The pictures drew me in. I really wanted to like this place but the coffee in the corn latte had a really weird after taste and was probably one of the worst corn lattes I've ever had. The latte also doesn't come looking like the pictures. I didn't want to go in and ask for a refund so I unfortunately tossed it after a few sips.
