This place is in a small plaza on an wide street with no marked pedestrian crossings so watch your step. The parking lot seems sufficient for the area with a fence dividing the lot from the outside. The inside is a brightly lit tea shop with 2 self order tablets on boxy shelves. There is a good amount of seating and free wifi. I ordered a classic thai tea and a green (jasmine) thai tea... at 50% sweetness. The reason I emphasize sweetness level is because of how sweet the beverages are. I love sugar: sweets, desserts, and beverages. 50% is plenty here. At this level the sugar doesn't overwhelm the tea and the two blend well together having nice spiced notes, tea strength, and milky goodness. My first experience as a ChaTraMue left me sugar'd out, but at 50%, I think a good balance has been struck. They do serve their drinks with plenty of ice, so it might be diluted enough if the ice melts. All in all, the thai tea is great if youre cautious with your sweetness. I can see why people like the thai tea, the spices mixing with the high quality tea is really satisfying and refreshing.
Came here to quench a bottomless thirst!!! Thanks to a quick search on Yelp and the promising reviews, ChaTraMue Original Thai Tea seemed really promising. The little tea shop sits in a small strip and was the only establishment opened on a Sunday evening. This made for easy parking but I couldn't help but feel that the location was a bit eerie. Orders are made via tablet or directly with a staffer at the register. The menu lists: milk teas, specialty teas, tea slushees, lattes, and coffee. Drinks are customizable when it comes to sweetness level. Purchases: *ORIGINAL THAI- regular size, 30% sweetened *JASMINE MILK TEA- large size, 50% sweetened *YUZU GREEN TEA- regular size, 30% sweetened The yuzu green tea was fantastic. This was the perfect item to satisfy my thirst. This was not only deliciously refreshing but the agar jelly balls were so enjoyable. The original Thai tea set at 30% sweetener was perfect- it had the best punch of tea flavor with the subtle sweetness that balanced the bold spice profiles. The worst buy was 100% jasmine milk tea. This literally tasted like sugar water. At 50% sweetness level, I could not imagine what 100% default would be. This cup literally tasted like condensed milk poured over ice. 3 stars overall. It is so unfortunate how ChaTraMue has clear signage of them standing by their products and guaranteeing customer satisfaction only for our simple request for more tea [to offset the sickenly sweet cup] to be denied. The gentleman at the bar said the only option was to go and purchase another drink. BRAVO!! The customer service here is unmatched and the guarantee policy only applies to certain situations?????
This is as close as it gets to my experiences in Bangkok. Every drink I've had here was a reminder of the authentic stuff back in Thailand. Service is super friendly, and unlike the stuff in most of the Thai restaurants in La, I love that you can vary the level of sweetness. Huge recommend!
Just enough parking at this location as it is in a square. Love the Thailand mural inside the restaurant and how to seating arrangements are color coded to be orange with hues of a white shade. My Thai tea with boba took less than 5 minutes to make, and it was good! Crazy that they have a 135% sweetness level available, which I never seen before. Would rate higher, but I was in and out of here for my singular order, so not much else to say about this location. Beware of the traffic as it is in Chinatown, so people on road be doing what they want! Welcome to LA

sept 20, 2026. 5:02pm. I was on the order kiosk but was having problems with my order so I opted to ask help from RICKY, the cashier/server- POLITELY. Only reason I did this because a customer in line went ahead and ordered directly from his counter. I shifted and waited for my turn hoping to be assisted. When my time came, I asked POLITELY if RICKY can ASSIST ME? I was SURPRISED of the kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE he was TAUGHT during training. He uttered "I CANT NOT UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO WAIT FOR 30-40 MINUTES". then Ricky LEFT. I stood there frozen still hoping and waiting to be assisted by RICKY. I thought it was a joke but noticed he and his female co-worker were jiggling afterwards like what RICKY said was FUNNY. I was taken aback. I NEVER had this kind of customer service experience wherein I am being singled out. RICKY assisted a customer BEFORE me. RICKY even assisted a customer AFTER ME, but NOT me. Dismayed, I went back to the order kiosk and still continued my order until I didn't feel like ordering anymore. My friend was adamant to order refreshers and just like me was also having problems with the order kiosk so my friend went straight to his counter and ask for assistance. Guess what? RICKY took our orders from my friend, ----not me. SO WHAT WAS HIS PROBLEM then? I was polite. I did not make a scene. I was not rude---even after the incident. I dressed up properly. I hope management would take a look at their employees who are mirror images of the product they are working for. This is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I enjoyed my drink just fine, however the overall experience was a little lackluster. To start, there was no employee at the counter to ask any questions or help with ordering. They have a screen to place your order but there was a line and it took a REALLY long time for each party to order. It would be helpful if they had another screen for ordering or someone stationed at the front to also take orders. My friend who is vegan wanted to ask some questions about their drinks and someone finally came over who was not very friendly or helpful. It is nice they have a vegan menu! No food at all. I know other boba shops usually have baked goods or other cooked food, but nothing like that here. I got the lemon green tea with boba. It was super refreshing. It tasted just like the canned Arizona green tea. The boba was softer than I prefer, I like it a little more chewy. Overall, I've had better boba. It is nice that they have a lot of seating inside.

I tried the Thai Tea Slushee for the first time ever and it was exactly how I'd thought it'd taste. Really tasty! It sounded amazing and it did not disappoint! Perfect for a hot day, I got it a few weeks ago when the sun was beaming and the air was HOTTT! Totally, satisfied me. If you don't drink a lot of caffeine or don't need a lot of caffeine, be mindful. I couldn't finish the whole thing because I was very energized half way through, but I still loved it! Service was top tier, great music playing, Love's Holiday by Earth Wind and Fire. Aaand the employee was dope and helpful ! 10/10 recommend, I'm gonna try it without the cream cheese foam swirl next time.
Some of the best Thai tea in town can be found at ChaTraMue, a beloved brand from Thailand. This is a pretty sizable cafe in a rather strange part of downtown, but the upside is there's an entire parking lot with free parking--except the nights when there's the night market (not sure if it's still running). There's a machine you can order on and the drinks out pretty quickly, even when there was only one guy working late at night. Service is always friendly. I absolutely love the green Thai tea, it's much lighter and more floral than traditional Thai tea. They sell tins and bags of the tea you can buy to make at home! The boba is pretty nice too, not the best in LA but pretty chewy and they have it in pandan flavor as well.
Thai tea here is good! I really wanted to try the original Thai tea soft serve but it is only available on the weekends. Inside is big and roomy with seating and there is a parking lot. You can order yourself through an iPad and drinks come out quickly. Definitely coming back.
Located inside LAX-C's plaza is ChaTraMue. It's the quintessential Thai tea joint from Thailand. It was established in 1945 and has been trusted for over 80 years. They have a variety drinks, but they're famous for the very popular Thai iced tea. I opted for the Thai Tea Slushee, my wife the Original Thai Tea and my daughter the Sala Milk. For the Thai tea, we opted for 70% sweetness and it was still very sweet. We'll have to try the next one down which is 30% next time we're in the area. The Original Thai Tea would've been perfect if it wasn't so sweet and same goes for the slushee. I felt that if it was less sweet, it would be perfect. I'll have to ask if I can bring down the sweetness of the slushee the next time I'm there. As for the Sala Milk, it was a hard no for everyone. I've never had this before - even in Thailand. Unfortunately, my daughter took a sip and was done with it. Definitely will come back to try other flavors and adjust the sweetness levels of our drinks. Don't forget to grab yourself some tins of tea to take home and make in the comfort of your home!
Ordered the original Thai tea with boba and the green Thai tea.I thought they were both good! It was clean inside and plenty of seating, no line and you get your drink fast. There's free parking too

#1 Thai milk tea for a reason. I tried both the original Thai milk tea and the green milk tea, and they were incredible in completely different ways--bold, fragrant tea flavor without being overly sweet or diluted. You truly won't find a better Thai tea spot than this. ChaTraMue is especially special because it's the original Thai tea brand from Thailand, established in 1945, and you can really taste the quality and tradition in every sip. This isn't trendy milk tea--it's the real deal. I only wish they had a location on the Westside of L.A., but until then, it's absolutely worth the drive. Parking was also easy thanks to their dedicated lot. 10/10 -- excellent, authentic tea flavor. read more

Very clean and organized. Beautiful wall mural artwork. Cozy designed seating arrangement. Very warm and friendly reception as well as service.,Staff nicely gave us a heads up their coffees and teas has mild laxative effect with it. We have about 45 min. drive home but what the h...:: , ordered my black coffee anyways. Didn't pay attention but it was cold not hot ( expecting hot). Very different and odd taste. Sweet, bitter, pungent, rooty or earthy and not sure what but oddly I liked it., Big suspense was getting home safely from a different kind of accident. We got home fine and so guess the staff warning did not work for me. After taking two sips from a straw, this is how much you get for $5.75. I asked for a little less ice, and they did let me know the cup wouldn't be full. They also refuse to give you less than 30% sweetness. I can no longer support this place. Having 3/4 of a drink I paid $5.75 for because I didn't want half the cup filled with ice is crazy. I was annoyed to see how empty it was before I drank anything but when I saw how empty it was after two literal sips, I had to take a picture and leave a review. This place was alright. Ample parking. Really wanted to love the Rose Milk tea but this simply tasted like milk. And the pandan boba (green coconut boba) just tasted like agar. Cute cup though. For the price it was lacking tons of flavor. It's funny how they advertise Natural Laxative effects on their menu, although I'm not lactose intolerant, serves as a warning for the less fortunate I guess (?). read more
The brand is from Thailand- legit. There was plenty of parking when we arrived in the evening. I ordered the Thai green milk tea on the kiosk. I adjusted it for sweetness, but wished I could've adjusted the ice level. I was planning to drink most of it in the morning due to caffeine. Overall, I enjoyed it. At 30% sweetness, it will still quite sweet though. read more
I ordered the Thai Lemon Tea. It came out within 5 minutes. It's extremely concentrated. You need to add in ice or else it's just lemon and tea concentrate. The store is spacious and has a lot of spaces to sit. This is a great place for dates and big hangouts. The parking lot is small though so you better come early to get parking. read more

Heard about this specific Thai tea store all over TikTok for the famous 32oz bucket and finally got around to trying it out since I was in the area! Parking was easy with a lot right in front of the store. The inside is spacious with plenty of seating and there's an option to order via kiosk, making it easy to take your time to choose your items. We got a large Green Thai Tea and of course the 32oz Regular Thai Tea. Green Thai Tea 6.5/10 - I enjoyed that the tea was not too sweet. I decided to get 70% sweet since I was worried it would be too sweet and I'm glad I did. The tea flavor was nice and strong, but it wasn't as floral as I would've expected. If I try this again I would just get the standard 100% sweet. Thai Tea 9/10 - The tea flavor was bold and strong. It had a good amount of sweetness without compromising the authentic flavor. I can see why the original is so popular, it definitely lives up to the hype and why there's a 32oz option! Overall, the tea flavor was authentic and definitely worth a try. I also appreciated that they offer alternative milk options! I would definitely recommend trying this place if you're in the area and craving a thai tea. read more
My Life Motto...More Bubbles Less Troubles. :D Let's begin! ChaTraMue is a popular bubble tea spot located in Los Angeles. It's located in a large plaza off Chinatown. They offer a wide range of flavorful Thai teas and milk teas. I have known this tea shop for years and even heard boba customers give rave about the authentic taste and rich flavors of their drinks, such as the Original Thai Tea and Milk Green Tea. Therefore, I decided to pay them a visit. I came on a late afternoon and decided to order a Thai Lemon Tea (16oz) x agar jelly. It was very good in taste. Interior was relaxing with a massive Thai mural on the wall. They have a kiosk for faster service; they have order counter for those folks who are traditional. Lounge sofa and chairs were comfortable. Prices were affordable and competitive. Service was impeccable and bloody quick! Overall, I liked my iced lemon thai tea and experience. I came here to try the original Thai tea. I got both the original and green Thai tea. They are extremely sweet and very hard to drink until watered down. I recommend adjusting the sugar level to 25-50%. This place is for you if you like sweet drinks, but personally it was not for me. The service was great. The cashier was very nice and outgoing. Stopped by to taste the every popular boba place. We had a busy day shopping for groceries and needed a drink. The place wasn't busy but the staff were friendly and gave suggestions. It is a cute shop with seating both inside and outside. There's also a mural painted on the wall. The tea was great and the drinks are served with the iconic red cap. Definitely recommend a new twist to boba. read more

I had a hard time locating this place as I was not familiar with the area. I do like how you can order via DoorDash, which is what I did. It said about 10 min wait time after I ordered, but then I got a text a few minutes later saying my order was ready. I ordered green Thai iced tea, unsweetened. I was delicious, to my liking... not too sweet. I went on a Sunday evening, so it was easy to find parking. The inside had a beautiful aesthetic, with some Thai decor. Im an OBSESSED. I usually can't have boba teas because of the sugar content, so I decided to try ChaTraMue's Rose tea latte (0% sugar) with oat milk and honey pandan boba ::muah:: I am addicted. The rose has this wonderful floral taste, and the honey pandan boba adds a touch of sweetness and boldness. I could drink it all day. My only comment: please offer the drink in a bigger size. I would buy the bigger size if it was offered. Parking is street and lot parking. It's in a part of town that has more plentiful parking so that's a plus. The cafe is clean, the employees are nice, and the vibes are chill. 100% A+ will come again. Please offer the rose tea latte in a larger size! read more
I've been wanting to try this spot since I heard about it online. You can find parking pretty easily in the lot. The inside is decorated very nicely. You order at the kiosk, and your drink comes out super fast. We got the Thai tea original and in slush form. Both tasted great. read more
ChaTraMue Original Thai Tea is a Thai tea place located next to Chimney Coffee House. They specialize in Thai Tea and have other variations of Thai tea like Thai Black Tea, Thai Green Tea, Thai Lemon Tea. Can't forget the Thai Coffee drinks like O'Lieng (Thai Black Coffee) and Thai Milk Coffee. They also have Thai Tea soft serve, milk tea drinks, latte drinks, tea drinks, and a small variety of toppings. I ordered a 16oz Thai Tea with regular sweetness level. The Thai tea was excellent. There is a lot of shredded ice in the drink but I didn't mind that too much. Service was alright. I was greeted upon entry. I was asked about sweetness level and size of drink. Cashier wasn't that friendly but wasn't rude either. Drink arrived within a few minutes. Spacious shop with some wall art and a few tables. They had Thai pop music playing in the background. I absolutely love this place! I originally came in wanting to try the green Thai tea, but the Thai Iced Tea Smoothie with cream around the cup totally caught my eye -- and I'm so glad it did. This smoothie was hands down the best thing I've ever had from a tea house. It beats every Thai tea I've ever tried -- incredibly rich, creamy, smooth, and perfectly sweet (I asked for 70% sweetness). I'm already dreaming about the next time I get to have it. I also tried the green Thai tea, which was very floral in flavor -- it strangely reminded me of the milk left over after eating Trix cereal (in the best nostalgic way possible). The space is open, clean, and beautifully decorated with cultural art that adds a lot of charm. My drinks were ready in 10 minutes tops My only complaint? I wish it were closer to home -- I'd be here all the time if it were! read more
Best Thai tea in LA. ChaTraMue since 1945. From the high mountains hand picked Tea leaves still. Thai tea and that coffee milk teas the OG Of Thai teas. Located right next to LAX-C the Asian Costco. Free WiFi. Jitlada also use this Thai tea that why their Thai tea is OG. Panda honey boba and brown sugar boba. Also plenty of specialty other teas hot and cold. Friendly service super clean .
