Grapefruit green tea with boba, less ice
    Jenny L.

Came here when I was in the area and it's nothing to write home about. It's a typical tea house, allows adjustments, has pretty standard toppings. Service is friendly. What stands out to me is the food selection, they have pastries but on the side are some braised savory dishes. I didn't get them but definitely not what I expected to see!

Yesterday, when shopping in the Chinatown district, my wife took us to this Minon Cake since the kids wanted boba drinks. This delightful boba shop specializes on custom cakes and serves more than just drinks. We placed our order for the Minon Boba Milk Tea, Thai Tea with Crystal Boba, Ice Matcha Latte, Honey Lemon Green Tea with Crystal Boba, Mango Smoothie with Brown Sugar Boba and Mango Green Tea. We even got the Salted Oreo Cream Cake. The owner is incredibly kind and accommodating, and he creates very tasty cakes and drinks. Kids love this Minon Cake for boba drinks, but they also want to order the customized cake for their birthdays. When you're in the neighborhood, be sure to swing by Minon Cake and purchase some delicious cakes and drinks.

I always pass by this place, finally went in today and got a mango smoothie. It's so light and refreshing, not too sweet, with bits of pomelo sago. Only $6 what a nice treat. Even my lovebird Mango loves it :-D :-D

A very small dessert shop in Chinatown that my friends wanted to try out. We ordered a strawberry snow ice, matcha snow ice and a brown sugar boba for one of my friends. Both snow ice flavors were really good, refreshing and it looked small but was enough to share among 4 people. The strawberry one was refreshing and had strawberries, popping by boba, strawberry syrup thin Oreo and a mini waffle. The matcha one had red bean, thin Oreo and mini waffles. I also noticed they have really cute cake designs and I would definitely look into buying one here. Would come again if I was in Chinatown.

LA Chinatown has never had a decent and good boba/tea spot and I think this is finally a good start! Such a cute and convenient spot in Chinatown for good milk teas and teas! I think it's family owned and the family is so nice. Very polite and sweet. I got a very warm and wholesome vibe! They also have a stamp card visit here too. Okay weird topic... but let's start with the cup and design function lol Going to so many tea spots nowadays I def look for this. This place might not look all "aesthetic bs cute" BUT they spent the money for their cup caps. 1. It's a sturdy cap with 2 or 1 designated hole for your to pop the straw in 2. The smoothie cap has cute little panda or bear ears on it I dislike those plastic seals where when you pop the straw in and you make a whole ass mess lol -_- #NotCool ha Rose Milk Tea with Bubble strawberry boba is what I got. It was delish! My bf got their strawberry smoothie which had a very Nice Ice Crème taste to it!!! I wish I got more of a rose hint to my tea but it's fine. The vibe of the owners was nice so I wasn't even bothered. They also make very decorative cakes here too for birthdays and anniversaries! Def check them out if you are local ^_^ They also have their own take on Korean shaved ice (snow ice crème) too! I didn't try it due to being in a rush but it looked very refreshing for a hot sunny day!

We were craving some boba and found this place near the new Mama Lu's Restaurant! Got their mango pamelo drink with tiny tapioca balls and it was delicious! Almost as good as Phoenix Dessert but the mango or sago was sour at the end. Pricing is kinda high ($7 for one drink). Non-dairy creamer is available though so my stomach was not destroyed :0) It's cute inside and has a clean bathroom. Their cakes look really good!

went here before work last week to get some boba, and I tried the black sugar fresh mik tea. it was pretty good, but I think it needed a little more flavor in my opinion. service was good, the girl got my order out pretty quickly, and there's a few tables/chairs inside to sit down and relax at. maybe I'll come back to try a different kind of boba!

    Salted Oreo Cream ($6.59)

I was dining nearby on a rainy day and I had to buy a small cake to celebrate my future husband's birthday; BTS Jin. I do this every year just to celebrate his special day even if he doesnt know my existence. Then I came across Minon Cake and I thought it was exactly what I was looking for. Photos on Yelp was promising and price seemed reasonable but mostly, it was only a couple minutes away from where I was. I drove and street parked right in front. Out of many choices, I decided to get the Strawberry Matcha and Salted Oreo Cream Cake. Price was reasonable; $9.99 and $6.59 respectively. I didnt get any drinks because I was on the run to my next destination but there were other customers in the store getting drinks before and after me. Their cakes are good but not great. Yes, it is true that I do not like overly sweet desserts but these two cakes I tried were not even close to that. They had like a very slight hint of sweetness. I want to say that it wasnt sweet at all. I am unsure if this is what they intended but both cakes were that way. Cream tasted a little heavy to my personal taste but it was good. I dont know if I want to eat unsweetened cakes but I know, for some of you, this may be pleasing. Cakes were good in both presentation and portion. Going in depth taste wise, it was creamy, moist and spongy but just not on the sweeter side. Thats all. Minon cake also offers custom cakes and I think they need at least 3 business days ahead of time to get the cakes ready for you! I may come back again to try the drinks and maybe other desserts I didnt get to! Friendly and quick service with not too spacious inside but it is very cute and has warm ambiance that most us girls would enjoy.

    Matcha red bean snow ice
    Robert C.

Came here for the matcha red bean snow ice. It had a nice matcha flavor. The red beans were underneath. It did not come with any waffles even though the picture had it. It also came with half an oreo. Why not a full oreo though... It was still tasty and very soft.

Ambiance: the small cafe shop is located near the entrance of old Chinatown Service: very friendly and patient with questions, provided useful suggestion Food: standard drink menu and specialty cakes Bobo Cup Desserts - **** freshly made in house, mango, bobo, and cream on top of soft sponge cake, not overly sweet, recommend Price: decent portion and reasonable prices, about $10 per order for drinks and desserts

Cute little bakery shop in the middle of Chinatown. Even the door sign is adorable. I'm in love, what can I say? There are plenty of little goodies to keep a girl going. Everyone here is friendly and although communication is a bit of a barrier, I still manage to leave happy and full of sweets!

    Kumquat lime green tea
    Sanny C.

If you like unsweetened cake, this is the place for you. I m like so amazed. I tasted like 0% of sweetness in the durian cake. I am sure it had some sugar it in lol it was good tho. I am planning to order a cake here for my friend's bd. Hope the quality stay the same. I will request for the cake to be a bit sweeter tho since my friend like it sweet. I also got a kumquat drink which was also good. It wasn't too sweet nor too sour. Good for a hot day. Will be back.

There's a hint of orange in it for added flavor, and it works perfectly. It's a bit expensive at 7 dollars, but it hit the spot. Honestly, I'm not hesitant to spend 7-10 dollars on a cup of coffee, so maybe it wasn't truly that expensive. The restaurant itself is fairly unassuming and may not look as fancy and in order as some more new wave places, but the flavors here can't easily be replicated. Easily some of the better pho I've had in LA. Granted, i was really hungry, so that could have factored into the score. Places like this are what i love so much about Chinatown. The atmosphere inside is incredibly welcoming and there was a steady flow of customers coming for the Vietnamese coffee. I'm sad i didn't get to explore this part of the city during its prime, but im happy places like Gigo's are still around to enjoy and appreciate. When I came, it was completely empty, but then again, it was a Tuesday at 1 p.m., so probably bad timing on my part. I asked the barista how I could find upcoming events, and she told me that after COVID they host events every once in a while, and that I should email the owner for more information. I was a little disappointed, given that the place was advertised as community-oriented, especially since they have an indoor space where they could pin flyers. That being said, I'd still say this place is worth visiting. First off, the ambience is great, and I love the décor. If it's usually as quiet as it was in the morning or early afternoon, this would be a cool spot for remote work or studying. I would definitely come here for a first date. When it comes to drinks, I'd say they're decent, though I've only had one so far. I tried the espresso tonic and had low expectations, since I never expect great coffee from boba shops, but I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee itself was okay; nothing spectacular, but nothing offensive either, which works fine when mixed with tonic. I just wish I had been able to taste the longan they add to the drink. Overall, it wasn't bad. Next time, I'll have to try a boba tea to get a better sense of the drinks, but all in all, this seems like a great hangout/date spot that I'll try to make use of in the future.

Sunright Tea Studio is so welcoming and gives off such a sweet and festive ambiance. The studio is so spacious and has a beautiful Christmas tree in the center with area for sitting. We ordered our drinks from the kiosks and we're still able to communicate with the 2 baristas. The baristas were great and helpful in recommending their specialty coffee and milk tea drinks. We ordered the Signature Iced Coffee, Strawberry Matcha Latte, Chocolate Oreo Brûlée and Chocolate Oreo Frostie. The Signature Iced Coffee is a Vietnamese Highland double blend while the Strawberry Matcha Latte is premium matcha from Japan with 4 seasons oolong tea layered with organic milk and fresh strawberries. The Chocolate Oreo Frostie on the otherhand is a rich yet refreshing chocolate ice-blended frostie infused with a generous scoop of crushed oreos. So good! Last but not least, the Chocolate Oreo Brûlée is a velvety chocolate latte swirled with creme brulee foam and served with crushed Oreos. This is one is good yet it's too sweet for me. Can't wait to try other milk tea and specialty coffee drinks on their menu next week/

Pro-Tip: Don't sleep on their Red-Bean Moon Cakes. I always have to get these whenever I'm in the area. FOOD: Red Bean Moon Cake - 9.0 / 10 Up there with the best of them. The pastry & especially the filling are not too sweet. The outer crust in tender, flaky, & always fresh, never stale. The inner red-bean filling is just the right amount of sweetness with a not-too-soft nor not-too firm texture. Parking can be tricky, so my best best is to just park alongside N. Broadway. Watch the meters & pay if necessary or do what I do & walk stop by after eating at a nearby Chinese restaurant.

I've been here a few times. Shop is not too big with limited inside seating. They sell a variety of pastries, cakes, and other baked goods. They now serve milk tea, smoothies, and juice drinks. No public restrooms. I was nearby a couple weeks ago for the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K Run/Walk & Bike Ride event. I wanted to support this bakery. I bought a couple egg tarts, two baked BBQ pork buns, a Chinese donut, one Mango smoothie (comes with milk), one Watermelon juice, and one Three Berries juice. Wow, egg tart was one of the best I've ever eaten! It was creamy and sweet in a crisp, buttery shell. SO GOOD! I wish I bought one dozen and not two individuals... next time one dozen for sure. BBQ pork bun filling was adequate and taste was decent, but I've had better from other bakeries. Chinese donut was a bit oily unfortunately. Out of the 3 drinks, fresh watermelon juice was the best... will get again. The other two drinks didn't have any depth in the fruit taste whatsoever... will not get them again. Staff was just okay. Not the most smiley crew. They weren't super busy so I was in and out of here under 10 minutes. Atmosphere could be better. Place seems a bit dated. They could use a fresh look. If you're looking for the best egg tart in town, Wonder Bakery is here to serve you. Happy Eating!
