Cute French bakery/cafe in downtown. Plenty of seating indoors and some outdoors. They also have free WiFi that's a bit spotty. Prices can definitely add up. I didn't find their espresso drinks to be compelling. They have bathrooms, but you have to ask for a code. Staff are really kind however. Nutella croissant roll - this looked cute, though it was quite sweet. Lots of nutella filling if you're into that. For some reason I REALLY crave this sometimes, probably because it's so chocolatey & sweet Jalapeno cheese croissant - this was delicious. Nice and flaky, jalapeno & cheese is a great combination. Two years later, and still my favorite DTLA bakery. We beat the rush so could admire all the tasty looking pastries as you walk in before ordering at the counter. I tried their jalapeno croissant, and I can't wait to come back and have another light, flaky, flavorful croissant filled with jalapenos and cheese. I enjoyed my fruit tart. Pitchoun was a fun spontaneous discovery this weekend. My boyfriend and I were circling around the area for street parking and found a spot available in the Perishing Square area, right in front of Pitchoun. I saw some pastries and decided to take a look. Wowwwww pastry heaven! There was a whole case of delicious pastries. So many options to choose from. I picked a Chocolate Croissant and a Coffee Éclair. I don't have the pricing for this cause they didn't have a text receipt option so I selected email receipt, but stranger's email was on it and I didn't want to hold up the line figuring out their machine so I hit cancel. I ate the coffee eclair first and was a little underwhelmed. I love coffee flavors but this wasn't hitting the spot. The chocolate croissant was average and could be more flakey. I really like the variety of the selection they have so I would be willing to come back in the future, and try some of their lattes also. read more

My partner and I came here to get some pastries as they had a bogo offer on Uber Eats. The shop is a quaint french inspired bakery. When you enter, you are greeted by a large display of pastries that change seasonally. The shop also has ample seating both indoors and on a small patio outside. Overall, it's a very cozy spot. On this visit we got almond croissants. I felt like the croissants were a bit dense and dry, but they had a nice almond flavor. Not my favorite croissant ever, but not bad. I've also gotten coffee here a few times in the past, and have been impressed by their espresso quality, they make a solid latte. Note that the large coffee essentially comes in a soup bowl and my friend was too full to even finish it. I was content with the small. The seating is self seating and you get your own utensils. So glad we stumbled upon this café. The selection is galore from an all-day breakfast menu to fresh juices and oven-fresh pastries. Service was impressively fast; our sandwich arrived within five minutes of ordering. Coffee is available too, so those delicious pastries definitely won't be enjoyed alone. I've been to this charming French cafe several times over the years since in work downtown. They have the BEST almond croissants! This AM I had the chocolate almond croissant and that was scrumptious as well. My coworkers and I love the place - and these ladies are picky! Took some other coworkers here for lunch. That said, I do think it's reasonable to expect secure packaging when ordering through a third‑party service like DoorDash, where the food is handled by someone outside your team. We don't know how the product will be stored or handled once it leaves the shop, so proper sealing becomes a real food‑safety concern. Even when I've ordered delicate items like croissants, they've arrived in sealed containers to protect them during transit. Despite my disappointment with how the King Cake was presented, I want to acknowledge that the frangipane and flakiness were superb - the taste truly met our expectations, and one of my colleagues was delighted as it was what she remembered when she lived in France. Because of how good the cake was, along with your apology and timely response to my feedback, I will be adjusting my rating from 1 to 4 stars. This is a great French cafe for lunch or breakfast located right in Downtown LA. They serve a variety of pastries and have a breakfast and lunch menu with lots of options to choose from. I went for the Parisian Brie sandwich and got a plain croissant since I always get one when I stop by a French bakery. I also got a Dragonfruit latte for my drink. I had my food brought out since I was dining in and it came out within 10 minutes. The staff were friendly when they dropped off the food and ordering at the counter was a breeze. The parisian brie was a delicious sandwich, simple yet filling and tasty. The brie was plentiful and paired well with the ham and the toasted baguette gave a great crunch. The sandwich was also bigger than I expected too. The dragonfruit latte was alright, I wanted a bit more dragonfruit flavor as it was quite subtle in the latte. The croissant was decent, not the best I've ever had but still airy and crispy on the outside. If I had one that was fresher, it would have been better. The overall ambience is inviting and there is plenty of seating available inside or outside in the patio. The worst Parisian-style cafe I've ever dined at. Service is friendly, cafe ambiance is fine, but food is just so mediocre. I got the 16 oz latte and it definitely did not give me the caffeinated boost I expected. It was watery and flavorless despite having a thick foam for latte art. Parisian omelette was a total miss. The omelette was so overcooked that it had no fluffy texture at all. Country bread slices were rock hard... so dry and so porous. It was completely stale. How can I not have reviewed Pitchoun before?! This has been my go-to when I'm in DTLA for the past six years during the weekend of the LA Marathon. I usually call in here the day before for a yummy brekkie. As Jon M. pointed out, yes, the prices are high. But I suppose since it's a yearly thing for me, I just deal with it. (For example, my breakfast this morning for my husband and I was $60 and some change.) The bread though is divine. I think that's what keeps me coming back. I will say that I THINK they used to have a different type of butter -- and now it's just ordinary Challenge butter. You'll order at a counter, be given a number, and you'll then grab your utensils and condiments. You'll also bus your own table. If it's a nice day - and when is it not in LA - enjoy one of the tables in the courtyard. Also tables for 2 and 4 inside. Everything I've ever had here has been delicious, from the muffins to the desserts to the Parisian omelette to the pitch bowl... oh yes. Everything, really. 2025: 5/100 read more

I didn't know that beforehand so I had to leave my food unattended outside to grab my utensils. A balanced amount of syrup at the bottom add a little bit of sweetness and a nice crunch to the bite. Latte - Behold the latte that comes in a bowl. Yes feels more like drinking a soup than a coffee. Otherwise it was decent, a dark roast with steamed milk pairs well with the pastries. Tuna melt sandwich - was delicious. Bread was well toasted.
