I highly recommend Queen's Bakery for birthday cakes. They went the extra mile and wrote my nephew's name in a style that matched the design perfectly. That was very much appreciated from someone who is not creative at all! These cakes are really delicious as well. I would argue that they have the best cakes throughout Los Angeles.

Stumbled upon this bakery and got one egg custard bun and a pork floss bun. The pork floss bun tasted stale and the milk bread portion of the bun tasted wildly different from the egg custard bun, which was very good. The milk bread was soft and pillowy and the filling was generously pipped in and it's not too sweet. It was pretty cheap for $3 a bun that was sizable. I'd make sure to ask which buns they made day of.

I recently discovered this bakery and really enjoy the rice puff and almond cookies from here. The rice puff is soft, lightly sweet, and makes a perfect after-dinner treat with coffee or even a mid-day snack. The almond cookies are also delicious and pair really well with coffee or tea, especially if you like something simple and not overly sweet. They sell both items individually or by the box; the rice puffs come in a box of 12 and the almond cookies in a box of 40. At $9.50 each, they're very reasonably priced. I picked up a couple of boxes for my family Thanksgiving gathering and everyone loved them. The bakery also sells pastries, breads, and cake slices, which I haven't tried yet but definitely plan to on my next visit. They also make great little gifts for dessert lovers who prefer lightly sweetened treats.

Best Asian birthday cake! Im being biased but it's true- Asian desserts are light and not too sweet. We've been coming here for years and they have never disappointed. Always consistent, always delicious. The fruit and almond shavings are fresh, service is quick (easy to do same-day orders), and price is fair. Street parking. The bakery has other breads and desserts as well-- check it out and you won't leave empty handed! :)

Queen's Bakery is a must visit!! I stopped in after missing the bus and I'm so grateful to have missed it. First of all, their prices are so reasonable for LA. I saw lots of things I wanted to try, but ultimately I chose the "small" coconut bun for $3. This bun is HUGE! Bigger than my hand (and I have a quite large hand). The outside of the bun is slightly crunchy and inside is super soft and so yummy. Highly recommend!! (I even went back in to purchase another). My friend ordered a red bean flaky bun/cake and it was also very tasty. The service was quick and they were friendly. Please do yourself a favor and visit Queen's Bakery :)

So this is my go-to after I finish eating at Yang Chow's. It's literally a couple doors down to the right. They serve all types of pastries as well as teas, coffee, and more. I'm in love with the guava pastry. They are $3 a piece and worth every bite. The service is always great. Thank you very much and see you soon.

We bought a lot of desserts and treats here, some were good but some were too sweet. Still a cheap place to try in Chinatown LA

This place has been here for ages and as long as I can remembered. I used to go here for their sweet treats. Service is very friendly and family oriented for sue. Their baked goods are good and very affordable just yummy!! Parking can be a hectic since most are street parking (paid meters) or pay parking lot within walking distance. The place is dated since it has been there forever, and yes they should be updated but I don't think they ever have. But they do keep it clean as much as they can.

Looking for some mooncakes for mid autumn moon festival and saw this bakery online. We got the lotus with 1 egg yolk for $8.75. It was a very underwhelming mooncake. We felt like the flavor didn't really come through other than the egg yolk. Wouldn't really recommend. Wish there were red bean options! We also asked them what the difference was between white lotus and regular lotus but didn't get a clear answer.

If you love strawberry and whipped cream, you'll love their strawberry cake! I've been coming here since I was a kid so this place is almost nostalgic for me! So many fond memories of chowing down on one of their cakes for my birthday! Queens Bakery will always be an easy 5 stars for me!

Black Forest cake and Swan pastry
    Brenda L.

The good: We got 3 pineapple buns, a slice of Black Forest cake and a swan cream Choux puff pastry. Whole cakes were around $30. The pineapple pastry was light and nice with a slightly crunchy sugary exterior. They had many cake and pastry options to choose from. The swan pastry was super cute and airy. The service was quick and efficient. The boxes that the cake was held in was cute and presentable if you buy gifts here. The bad: The Black Forest cake just had one cherry on it. It would've been nice if it had a layer of cherry jam or more cherries. The chocolate flavor also was subtle because the cake was that light chiffon style rather than a rich dens chocolate type of cake. The interesting: We parked on the street at a metered parking spot. I'm unsure if there's a parking lot nearby but it seemed like street parking is your best bet.

We've been getting our cakes from Queens Bakery since I was a little girl, and now I get to continue the tradition by ordering cakes for my daughter. That alone says everything about how special this place is to our family. Every single cake has been absolutely beautiful and delicious -- always fresh, perfectly decorated, and a huge hit at every party. People constantly ask where we got the cake from! The flavors are amazing, the designs are stunning, and you can really taste the quality and care they put into their work. They are know for almond cover cake and it was so cute they incorporated on the bee design. It means so much to support a bakery that has been part of our family celebrations for generations. Queens Bakery never disappoints. Highly recommend for birthdays and any special occasion!

About 5 years ago we moved to San Fernando Valley, but I am still visiting this place at least twice / 3 times a month. I wish I could come more. The drinks and pastries have always made it an easy place for us to grab a treat, so I'm not writing this based on one random first impression. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that I felt I needed to say something. When we came in, the trash cans were overflowing, and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. I understand that cafés can get very busy, especially in Little Tokyo, and I never expect a place to look perfect every second of the day. However, the dining area felt noticeably neglected. With two children, cleanliness is something I pay closer attention to, and it was uncomfortable trying to find a clean area for us to stand and sit. The overall atmosphere also felt disorganized. We waited at the register for help, but it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I have had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out so much. I'm hoping this was simply a bad day, because Café Dulce has always been a place I was happy to visit with my family. I'm sharing this because I would genuinely like to see the cleanliness and customer service return to the standard I remember. Private Feedback for Management I did not feel comfortable putting the full details of this experience in a public review, but I believe management needs to be aware of what happened. While I was standing at the register waiting to order, the male employee working there was engaged in a conversation with another person and appeared to be openly gloating about drinking while on the job. Based on what I heard and observed, he also appeared to be impaired or intoxicated. He continued the conversation while ignoring me, even though I was standing directly in front of the register waiting to place an order. The tone of the conversation was not subtle or professional. It created a much darker and more uncomfortable atmosphere than what I would ever expect from a family-friendly café. I was there with my two children, and hearing someone behind the register casually talking about drinking while working was deeply concerning. Someone who appears intoxicated while operating a register and handling customers' money creates a terrible narrative for the business. It raises concerns about judgment, accuracy with transactions, food-service safety, and the overall professionalism of the workplace. Even if the employee was exaggerating or joking, it was still completely inappropriate to have that conversation openly in front of customers. What bothered me most was not only the conversation, but the fact that I was being ignored while it continued. I was waiting to spend money at the business, yet the employee seemed more interested in talking about drinking than acknowledging a customer. As a mother standing there with two children, the situation felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly a little disturbing. This is not my first time visiting Café Dulce, and I have never felt compelled to complain before. I understand that employees are human and that businesses have difficult days. However, the combination of overflowing trash cans, a dirty floor, being ignored at the register, and an employee appearing impaired while discussing drinking on the job crossed a line for me. I am sharing this privately because I believe management should have the opportunity to address it directly. I hope the situation is taken seriously, not only for the reputation of the café, but for the safety and comfort of the customers and employees.

Based on my memories, this LA location keeps it consistent with a similar taste and texture as the NY location. 3.5/5 Chocolate Chip Walnut: This cookie was tall and slightly undercooked in the middle. The middle was a bit on the squishy side, and crunchy on the outside. Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. Chocolatey tidbits were well melted into the cookie texture and produced some fudgey notes. The cookie sizes are large and potentially shareable, and feel like an every once in awhile treat.

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. And I know that vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting is pretty easy to make, but sometimes I'd rather just buy baked goods than make them for myself, especially when I'm driving past what I thought was a popular (and presumably good) bake shop. I expected a high-quality cupcake. The cupcakes looked cute, but they were as dry as the Sahara. They should have been labeled as white cupcakes as I didn't detect any vanilla in them. I suspect that the "buttercream" was made with milk and margarine and powdered sugar.....so much powdered sugar. It was sickeningly sweet, and it was dry too. And a true bettercream doesn't even use powdered sugar. So not only were the cupcakes terrible, they were not even what they purported to be. This is like calling a cut of meat a filet mignon and serving a hamburger. Von's, Ralphs and Albertson's make better cupcakes than this for a fraction of othe price.
