I was strolling in the grand central market and saw this place. I ordered a bagel and pistachio croissant to try. The bagel is very good. The croissant was just ok.

We got the Guava Croissant, Cardamom Brown Sugar latte and Spanish latte. The croissant was perfect and flaky with a generous guava filling. My husband and I really enjoyed both the lattes - I just didn't like the presentation of the drinks. Their plastic cups are basic but prices are not.

Um the best pastries in DTLA???!!! My supervisor got me pastries from bastion to celebrate passing my probation and omg... their guava croissant!!!! TO DIE FOR. I LOOOOOVE pan dulce and any sweet bread. This was so so good. Their cookies were also delicious. This is my favorite bakery in DTLA now!

The Baseline: For a bakery the bread has to be crusty, dough-rific goodness, great accompaniments per the bakery's theme, and good coffee/drinks. Food: For a small shop and stand, Bastion stands out with the array of fun, unique pastries available. I got a guava croissant with an iced drip coffee. The croissant was buttery and flakey with the good hint of guava. Presentation was gorgeous! The iced coffee was a good iced coffee. Service: Considering this is a volume service type of establishment, the staff were still friendly (as the time permitted). Very helpful and nice. Ambiance: Grand Central Market is bustling and full of energy. You will be craving your food as you stress to find your table. It isn't a relaxing brunch experience but once you sit down and claim your space you can ease into your outing fun. Bastion is a part of that fun downtown Los Angeles vibe.

BK doughnuts are essentially thick dense croissant made into a round doughnut. The pistachios were plentiful and pistachio cream filling was decadent. Delicious. They did warm it up but it lacked hhc fresh out of the oven warmth. Located next to egg slut and there was no line

Kouign Aman - don't judge me I took a bite.

I cannot wait to come back and try their other pastries. At this visit I only bought a Kouign Aman. I can't stop thinking about it. It was fresh and soft. The cashier was nice and pleasant. This location is in Grand Central Market, so it will be loud! I wish I took more pictures but was so overwhelmed by everything going on. Most of the pastries were gone by 1pm. I think I ended up taking the last Kouign Aman. The layers of sweet was devine.

Pre-ordered my Thanksgiving pie online and pick up went absolutely perfectly! I know they make exceptional coffee because the line is often dozen people long waiting for them. Located directly next to an Agua Fresca stand and next egg slut, Sebastian is a wonderful find directly off the Broadway entrance to GCM. The seating at the market is always shared. The pastries were rich, flaky, everything you would want from a proper French pastry. Many of the case items are gorgeously prepared. The place looks small, but they have a very well managed inventory of a very diverse and tasty selection of daily treats.

At Grand Central Market early to take care of things in the DTLA area. Got some breakfast food, but we needed our morning brew and right next to Eggslut is Bastion Bakery. We were able to get our coffee and Latte, but while in line, I got tempted with the delicious looking pastries. I got some to go to enjoy at home. I went with the Kouigan Amann, Pan Au Chocolat, and a soufflé style cheese danish. The solo staff handled the line and the orders perfectly. Everyone was patiently waiting their turn. She was very pleasant to deal with.

Bastion by Bakers Kneaded is located in the heart of Los Angeles--more specifically inside Grand Central Market. They offer sweets of all kinds including pastries and other desserts; it's such a lovely little bakery. If you're looking for your coffee and latte fix they have it! As I looked through the glass, I noticed it was squeaky clean and everything looked fresh. They even had a vegan cookie so that is what I ordered, it was double chocolate. Although, I am not a huge chocolate fan, I found it so be delicious. Service was great! Tips: If you want a natural fruit juice from The Juice, they are located next door

A nice little cafe in grand central market! Ordered a strawberry shortcake BK bun and an iced strawberry matcha. The BK bun was sort of like a stuffed croissant round filled with cream and strawberry compote, and it was good! The matcha was pretty good as well, though I felt it definitely needed the strawberry. Service was quick.

Ordered the Biscoff Latte - delicious! Located inside the Grand Central Market in DTLA. Take Metro Bike Share to get there - a station just outside on Broadway.

Every single time I visit the Grand Central Market this is one of the first stands I see and I have been wanting to stop here since forever! There's never a line when I visit and one in a great while there's no one even at the stand so I'm not even sure what the hours are. The baked goods, look beautiful and catch your eye right away. Bakery is definitely instagram worthy! The items are on the pricey side and I don't think they are worth what they charge, but they are located in a very great area where you're just drawn to the beauty of the colors and they definitely know how to market to hungry guests. I didn't think they were amazing. I think the pastries were just okay and I would love to try something different in the future, but I wouldn't see myself going out of my way for the bakery. I do believe that everyone's tastebuds are different, so even though I didn't love it, you might.

Guava croissant - if you like a Cuban "pastelito" you will love!
    Natalie S.

No decaf found here! But that's okay, you can get a nice iced chai matcha drink called Pirates Chai- really unique and tasty. The pastries are sweet and large too. Not the best I've found in LA but a filling option when you find yourself in this ginormous food hall in need of a morning munch or a mid-afternoon pick me up! The Kouign Aman would be my choice for pastry over the guava croissant (verrrry sweet - similar feel to a Cuban pastelito you would get in Miami!) and the round pistachio pastry (subtle, but not much of the creamy center filling). All are very crumbly so prepare your outfit accordingly!

Elderflower Rhubarb Danish - way too crunchy, would prefer it to be crispy instead of a crunch. Filling was good, not too sweet. I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
