This review is strictly reflecting my experience ordering an iced Matcha latte The surface was pretty decent considering how the order experience was fairly quick and straightforward. There was a crowd, but the order came out fairly quick in consideration. I did not have any issues ordering or receiving my order, so that was a redeeming factor. This is a coffee stand outside of the courtyard, so expect the ambience to be filled with office folks who want to have some fresh air. There are some tables around so you could just chill and have a sip. The iced Matcha latte itself, though was one of the plainest drink ever. VERY MID. THE MOST MID. I should have known better than to order an iced Matcha latte from this place because they primarily specialize in coffee. This is located in downtown LA, so expect the prices to be a bit more premium due to its location. I would not recommend getting a Matcha latte here, but coffee instead. read more

This place is diabolically predatory and expensive if you get anything other than an unsweetened espresso-based drink with regular milk. I am talking $9-12 drink range for a 12oz cup. Syrup and alt milk are ridiculously priced. The barista just looks you in the eye as they total up the numbers. If you do get one of the drinks that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the espresso is very chocolatey and a delight to drink. It is probably one of the best coffees in the area. Avoid their matcha because it has no flavor, is slightly grainy, and is significantly more expensive than competitors at this quality. You'll get some fun discounts if you join the rewards program, but HAVE I MENTIONED everything is so expensive that it just becomes regularly priced. It's also located in a cute outdoor space outside of a lot of offices, which makes it very suitable for yap and not to work if that was your intention. read more

It's all in the name - Nice Coffee is nice! Located in the courtyard of the City National Plaza DTLA on Flower between 5th & 6th, Nice Coffee is completely outside with plenty of tables around but most businesspeople get theirs to go on the way to the office. Nice Coffee is closed on the weekends, so it's only available during the week. They offer your standard coffees and breakfast food like croissants, pastries & burritos (burritos served until 11:30AM). For lunch they offer some sandwiches. Tues-Thurs they offer happy hour (aka Nice at Nite) at 4PM with last call at 6:45PM. For that they offer wine and beer along with some food (lunch sandwiches, hot dogs & pretzels). Happy hour food is served until 6:30PM. Their coffee is good, with their iced mocha being my go-to. Fyi- all coffees come in one size (12 oz) and they charge extra if you modify your milk. Overall Nice Coffee isn't a bad choice if you're downtown looking for a coffee fix. read more

I arrived at 7th St. Metro Transit Station and started my walk up to Westin Bonaventure Hotel, then noticed I was early enough to sit and enjoy a cup of joe. So I work in one of the surrounding buildings and thought I'd get some lunch from this place. I ordered a matcha latte (which originally looked reasonably priced). I got it with oat milk and asked for it to be sweetened with lavender syrup. The guy said yes and I also ordered a sandwich. I didn't realize until paying that the oat milk was an extra dollar (that's fine I guess but still annoying) but the lavender syrup was an extra $1.50. Idk this just seems crazy to me for 2-4 pumps. It ended up being a $9 matcha latte which is the most I've paid for one after working in downtown for years. The sandwich was wrapped nicely and the meat seemed decent quality. Howeverrrrr, it was super dry. It was some sort of steak with arugula. It was supposed to have a horseradish sauce and oil and vinegar. I could just barely taste the horseradish sauce. Tasted no oil and vinegar. I ended up buying lunch from another place. I would give it one more try drink wise and for some pastries (maybeeeee). read more

This coffee was amazing! I didn't realize the establishment would be outside and I was looking for a place to work and use my laptop. But the person at the register told me they are known for coffee not WiFi so I couldn't complain! I got a lavender latte and coffee cake donut. For the latte, I asked for it not to be sweet and they delivered! I hate that most coffee places make their lattes sickly sweet but this was the perfect amount of sweetness for me, which was very little. I usually don't go for donuts but this donut was not too sweet either and was more of a cake donut than a yeast donut. Service was also great. Overpriced and overrated. Coffee is average, there's much better coffee nearby. I just wanted to give it a shot since it was on my way. The cashier was rude, and rushing me when it was just me in line... I ordered an almond croissant and she did not disclosed it was filled with strawberry and it wasn't labeled anywhere either. At this place you are paying for its location and the nice seating next to the water fountain. I paid $10 for a croissant, $7 for a coffee... and definitely $0 for service. Thank goodness for Nice Coffee! Pre-Covid, it was a great alternative to the ubiquitous Starbucks on almost every other city block. Since the Starbucks in the nearby vicinity has been closed, Nice has been an oasis in a coffee desert! The line comes and goes. Sometimes it can be confusing as to where the line ends. They have a great selection of pastries and savory items. The breakfast burritos are just the right size. I haven't had the chance to try their lunch option but I'm sure they are delish! As for coffee, I am a creature of habit and always order the cold brew. On occasion they have a sparkling cold brew (cold brew mixed with a sparkling, flavored water.) Many years ago, I worked in the building where Nice Coffee now sits. My 1998 mind would have been blown by coffee this good! On a recent visit I was drawn to the beautiful outdoor Cafe. I got in line and ordered my pastry and coffee to stay. Far more than a coffee counter for local workers, the coffee, the pastry, the presentation were all phenomenal. My cortado was excellent. Later, I learned that a founder of the excellent Handsome Coffee is behind the place. That explained a lot. The savory butternut squash pastry was delicate and delicious. Staff were friendly and moved quickly. The morning light made everything look gorgeous and glamorous. Everything about the cafe seems carefully designed in the best way. I really like this spot! Given the options in the area, this is my go-to place for coffee. The vanilla latte is excellent--not too sweet and full of rich coffee flavor. Service is friendly as well. Made it to Nice Coffee today for a quick pick me up around 355pm right before they closed. Was deciding to order either the Thin Mint Mocha and the Lavender Latte. Wanted it with soy milk but they only offer it with almond or oat milk as alternatives to regular milk. It's a coffee stand that's outside the Drago Center. They had a decent amount of foot traffic when I visited, about 8 people ahead of me, but from standing in line to getting my drink in hand it was no more than seven minutes turn around time which is quick. The thin mint mocha was a 6 out of 10. Might have gotten my hopes up. It cost me 6 bucks plus a dollar more for tip. It also didn't come out too hot. Which was a bit disappointing since it was a chilly day. Obviously inspired by the thin mint girl scouts cookies. Vaguely reminded me of it. Would say it did taste more minty than chocolately. Not regretting I ordered it but thought it would be a better balance of flavors or at least taste more similar to the cookies. Definitely gave me a boast of energy I was looking for and sustained me for the four hours I needed to be on. Which was exactly what I needed. All in all. Given the location where there are multiple seats to relax. And given the speed of service. And given how nice the people were. I'd give it a 4 star. The coffee is the reason it wasn't a 5 star. When I took that first sip, I could tell they use high quality coffee beans and the flavor was perfect. They also serve a variety of delectable pastries and sandwiches and I'd say you can't really go wrong with any of them. Prior to the pandemic, I remember they served breakfast burritos on Fridays only. Not sure if they still do that, but I also recommend giving their breakfast burritos a try. The burritos pack a good amount of flavor and pairs well with any coffee. I'm an iced/cold coffee person, so I mostly order the cold brew. I like that they have a small menu of coffee and teas, which allows them to pump out drinks at a quicker pace. The line can get long at peak hours as a lot of office workers are lining up for their morning cup or their afternoon pick me up. The staff is great! They're friendly, helpful, and conversational. Some days, just a brief conversation with the staff wakes me up before they hand me my cup of cold brew. I see a lot of surrounding parking structures for parking, but just don't know the cost. They do have what looks like 4 bar type seats on the opposite side of where you order your drinks and pastries. They're located in a plaza where there's plenty of outdoor tables and seats if you're unable to get a bar seating. read more

Going to Nice Coffee is definitely one of the highlights of my day when going to the office - next to raiding my work's snack cabinet. Anyways, I LOVE their pastries. My favorites are the ham and cheese croissant and spinach and cheese croissant. They usually have some seasonal pastries, if you see the raspberry danish during spring/summer be sure to order it! That one is my all time favorite pastry. I enjoy their matcha and greatly appreciate that they use quality matcha powder...not premade stuff.
