The people who work here are so rude. Sour faces and seem like they hate their jobs. Don't even look up at you when you order and scoffed loudly at 20% tip like it wasn't enough. I'm grateful that they open early. They have plenty of indoor seating. They have a great looking selection of pastries in a glass case. There is a large projector screen where they show videos. Great matcha! I love that they use unsweetened traditional Matcha powder, and they even use a homemade syrup just out of honey and hot water. One of the only cafés in downtown where you can actually get a Matcha that is naturally sweetened with honey. Dorian was an attentive and personable host; asking about the show we were heading to, and she made me perhaps the best handmade mocha I have ever had in my life! I absolutely love the touch this café brings to everystreet corner it populates. The selections of wine and pastries are absolutely wonderful for my apartment to sit outside on the street and enjoy the shade in the afternoon. This spot has been here for ages! Haven't gone in a while but I love what they turned into. It's a mixture of coffee/tea, sandwiches, wine bar and they now also have Charcuterie to pair with all the wines now too! You got everything you need! Truly such a gorgeous spot be it modern industrial inside or outside with side walk and street seating perfect for people watching or just simply admiring the elegant surrounding architecture! I picked up a Prosecco because it was in a reusable bottle! I was a sucker for that, as I thought it would make a nice serving water bottle lol. They have lots of drink variety aside from coffee or tea! I really like their bottled Auga Frescas series! Comes in Jamaica, Watermelon, & Cucumber flavors. It also seems they have a variety of organic and skin contact wines now too! I haven't tried them yet as my home bar is so filled but will def keep them in mind(: Staff is also super nice and swift with all orders. If you do end up ordering one of their many delicious sandwiches be sure to know it will take a bit to cook as they like to make it panini style. End result is a super crispy and melty sandwich. Street parking can be rough but decent amount of paid parking. Decent amount of seating especially on the patio. When you think there aren't enough chairs for the tables, the owner surprises you with even more chairs. Cafe has a very industrial feel, but not a cold industrial feel. The live music was a plus and brought the everything together giving it a warm and cozy feel. Staff and owner were super welcoming and made you feel at home. Whole location has such a New York vibe (minus the attitude) to it that we had plenty of people asking if we flew to New York for a quick vacation. Service was very fast and I appreciate them checking in on us after noticing we didn't receive our food for a while. After realizing the error they fixed it quickly and even made sure we still got the quickly sold out items on their menu so props to them for making it one of the best dining experiences. Food portion of the review will be tough because this was only a 1 day collaboration but I hope they make it a more permanent thing or even better just add the dishes to their menu. Our favorite dish was the XXX. Everything about this dish just worked and was very balanced. The crostini was perfectly toasted giving it the right amount of crunch but light enough to still absorb all the goodness of the sauce/oil. The Pâté was rich and creamy but wasn't too overpowering. The white truffle oil was a definite plus and really liked that the taste was there but it didn't over power the dish. Our least liked dish, though it was still delicious, was the basque cheesecake. The only reason why this wasn't our favorite when it normally is...the salted caramel. We were just too excited when seeing they had basque cheesecake on the menu and are addicts for "plain" basque cheesecake. Wish I had spent some time to speak with the barista about their coffee beans. Really enjoyed the taste of their coffee. Whatever they used for the latte it had a nice nutty-ness to it which I feel is pretty unique. Will definitely be back for the coffee though. read more

This modern feeling cafe is a great place to grab a cup of coffee, but not ideal for staying for a long period of time. I got a hot, almond milk latte and it had a nice, strong flavor with a smooth creaminess. Really enjoyed this drink for a pick me up on a cold LA afternoon! The inside of the cafe has an industrial feel, with a dark metallic aesthetic and tall barstool seating. There is free wifi available with the password on the menu board, but the loud volume of the music makes it a bit difficult to either focus on work or hear your friend if you hangout inside. There is also plenty of seating outside of the cafe, which is a great option. One downside is that the seating is directly on the street itself, without really any blockades, so busy LA traffic quickly whizzes on by when you're sitting out there. The best iced mocha I have ever had around DTLA! However, I am only giving 3 stars and it is mainly because of the service. Parking: Street parking only unless you find a parking garage nearby. Easily accessible if you decide to walk to the location. Service: Worst service ever. This place really needs to improve on their customer service... My boyfriend and I come in for our first time, and no one greeted us at all. Okay that's fine, whatever. We wait in line to order and the guy taking our order looks so impatient like we were inconveniencing him. He made our drinks and then charged us, but it honestly felt like he was mad the entire time we were there... The staff is not friendly in general... The fact that this was our first time and we didn't have a good first impression is telling. Drinks: My boyfriend and I both ordered iced mochas but he gets his with whole milk and I get mine with oat. I will say the mocha here is really good and probably one of the best ones I have had ever. The chocolate is overpowering and it is strong but not overly strong. Really liked the iced mocha, some of their paninis looked really good too. Environment: Not much seating inside but there is a ton of tables outside. Overall, really good coffee and a lot of their food looks decent. Only downside is the service and how horrible it is... Also, every Friday, they bring a pizza truck (Vivace pizza) which is one of the best in town. Today was my first time at this Swedish outpost, and I fell in love the moment I turned the corner and saw it. Hipsters, groups of friends, young parents, guys in Hawaiian shirts were sitting around sleek black tables, sipping their coffees and wines; chatting and laughing and people watching. The ambience was stylish, vibrant, and sophisticated. The neon red sign (emblazoned with "ilcaffe") heralded the entrance of the store, which is located across from the historic Orpheus and in the same building as a beautifully designed residential building. Note: Only outdoor seating is available right now due to covid, but it was nice to take in the sights and sounds of Los Angeles, and the street ilcaffe is on isn't too seedy. Every time I went inside, there was always a swanky young duo ahead of me in line inquiring about the alcoholic options on the menu. The baristas were clearly quite knowledgeable and friendly about the subject -- I thought this was mainly a coffee shop, but I saw many a customer order wines and IPAs as well. I ordered my signature, the cafe breve, which isn't on the menu but they kindly brewed up for me. It was delicious: espresso notes are old school, strong and bold but without unwieldy bitterness. Ilcaffe uses their own beans, which I liked tremendously. My friend and I acquired a table outside and sat down to read / get work done. Despite it being windy, it was just a great place to sit and soak in the vibes. The pasta sisters truck right outside was a nice touch -- you don't even have to leave the place for dinner, and it closes at 9PM. Amazing! The main hassle I project is parking in DTLA. We were lucky and got a spot relatively quickly, two blocks down. I will definitely be returning, but thinking of finding parking next time gives me a headache.
