On my quest for more cute cafés in K-Town, I stopped by 3Thyme (pronounced "three time") for a pick-me-up before work. Staff were friendly and made my drinks fairly quickly. I opted for a banana cream top and a matcha banana cream top: the former had a lovely, strong coffee flavor, but I didn't really taste the banana flavoring (even after mixing). The latter was tasty, albeit quite sweet: I definitely tasted the banana flavor, but it did overpower the matcha. All the same, I'm glad to have tried 3Thyme, and it's a decent addition to the café scene in the neighborhood! read more

However, I do love that it's dog/pet friendly they even have dog treats at the pick up counter. There's an outdoor shaded patio area, perfect for an over casted day. We visited on a Monday around noon and were able to park in lot for free because we were grabbing coffee to-go. Seems like lot might be valet only during other times. Orange Bianco- wasn't bad but not my favorite. It tasted like coffee with orange juice. Injeolmi Latte -tastes just like what you expect it to taste like. Got the injeolmi latte half sweet and the 3Thyme Brew. I really liked the injeolmi latte as i thought it was super flavorful with a really nice soybean flavor and not too sweet, which I enjoyed. The 3Thyme Brew was also really good. Their menu has a lot of other drinks that look really interesting, so I'd definitely come back to try more. The barista Jade, was really friendly and helpful with explaining the drinks and gave honest recommendations and his top picks. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it a good spot for catching up with friends or studying. There are also plenty of outlets. The only downside is that most of the indoor seating is either high chairs or couches. There's parking in the back, and I believe it's valet for $4. On the lookout for the next cafe, I stumbled upon 3THYME, which boasted a very clean aesthetic, interior decor, and light music - the perfect, relaxing spot to either get work done or catch up with friends. The item that stood out to me? The restroom key hanging on the wall - kidding, though I really had to go! I had their Injeolmi Latte, which is one of my favorite flavors. I rarely deviate from regular iced lattes, but I'm always happy to for injeolmi. While waiting, I watched the staff prepare other drinks, and wow was it so satisfying to watch. The counters were kept so clean throughout - professionals! The Injeolmi Latte was overall too sweet for me, though I only discovered this because of the added sweet syrup (not listed in menu). The staff checked in with me and happily remade it without, and it was a much better drink, reminding me of salted caramel. I'm so excited to continue experiment with the Injeolmi Latte on my future visits.... I think it has the potential to be one of my favorite drinks! read more

3Thyme Coffee is located in the same plaza at Yi Fang and Ahgassi Gopchang. There's a parking lot, which according to an employee, only turns into valet parking after 3:30 or 4. I was there around 1, and did not need to pay for parking. A plus! The cafe was initially hard to find, but I'm just bad with directions. I ordered a decaf orange bianco, and found a seat on the couch to get some work done. It's not super loud in there, and there are lots of seats available. My drink tasted great! However, not sure if I was having an off day or they forgot to give me decaf, but I did have a pretty bad headache afterwards, which I get when I have caffeinated coffee. Because I'm not sure what caused my headache, I will not dock stars. The work set up was great, but I had some wifi issues where my connection just completely dropped and I couldn't load anything. Cute, vibey, and spacious cafe nestled in KTown! I stopped by here after lunch on a weekday to get some work done. There was no wait at all, and I was one of only a couple other people here. I tried the iced orange bianco with oat milk- I've tried so so many great coffees in LA but this one was unique and truly impressed me! It was fruity, creamy, not overly sweet, and the orange flavor was strong but not overpowering. It honestly just kept getting better as I sipped on it. I think as some of the ice melted and the dried orange on top started to infuse into the drink, it was like I was drinking a slightly different coffee with every sip. Highly recommend this place for a chill cafe hangout with friends or a solo work date on a weekday! There are so many seats both inside and outside. Music is chill pop/R&B and not too loud. The regulars of Ktown might know that this place was surely not new. Nonetheless, that didn't make it less crowded till today. From casual hangout place to working or studying spot. I personally was more for the prior as the lighting was quite dimmed especially if you sat indoor. Prolly the dedicated parking spot it had did have a contribution to the crowd it attracted. I'd say they did offer some specialty drinks, which were pretty uncommon and only limited places in town carrying them. This included their Misu Latte, Injeolmi Latte, and Mugwort Latte. Additionally they did carry several tea options. I was pretty mainstream going for their Caramel Latte as I was in the mood of hot drinks. It was tad too sweet for my liking, and I was actually quite a sweet tooth so if you preferred subtle sweetness you might wanna make sure you mentioned it when ordering. I still cannot describe it very well other than slightly sweet and had a very thick texture. Very grainy(?) I enjoyed my drink but will say I needed some water to wash down the powder/grains down my throat. 7/10 Espresso Tonic - BF has been trying to explore espresso tonic and he LOVED this. We visited 3Thyme and tried the banana cream matcha latte, banana cream espresso latte, and the croffle. Starting with customer service, this was unfortunately the weakest part of our experience. It felt very dismissive and muted -- not very interactive or welcoming. What stood out most was the inconsistency. We noticed other customers having their drinks and desserts brought directly to their tables, while for us, someone came out to the patio, verbally listed what our order included, and did not bring anything out. We then had to wait inside for the croffle to be warmed. Maybe they were busy, but the difference in service compared to others was very noticeable and a bit uncomfortable. Now for the food and drinks. The croffle was disappointing. It tasted stale, very chewy, and not fresh. I didn't enjoy it at all and would rate it a 1 out of 5. The drinks, however, were excellent. The banana cream matcha latte was phenomenal once mixed -- a solid 4.5 out of 5. The banana cream espresso latte was also very good, about a 4 out of 5, again only if you mix it well. One thing I really appreciated was that the banana flavor tasted more like banana-flavored milk rather than an artificial banana syrup. It was light, smooth, and not overpowering. Overall, despite the service issues and the croffle miss, the drinks alone would bring me back to try other items on the menu. 3thyme Coffee is another cozy coffee spot I came across in Koreatown. This is located in the Harvard plaza. For parking, they seem to have their own shared plaza, which is $2 for 3 hour parking. However, they only accept cash. I unfortunately did not have cash, so I parked in a nearby lot for $6 for all day. I went on a weekday at around 9:30 AM and there wasn't many people yet. I was able to order right away and get my order quickly. At the time, there was one staff taking orders and making them as well. However, overtime, more staff came and it also got busier as well. For the atmosphere, I never felt like their music was too loud. Customer noise level was pretty moderate to low depending on waves of people coming in. I sat inside in the corner via stool seats without back support. I picked this seat because it was in the corner with an outlet, but it wasn't necessary very comfortable. Those also have a patio area outside with plenty of seats as well. They do have free WiFi, and it was very strong. The password is on the corner of the menu. For my order, I got the Injeolmi latte and a cheese danish. I got both items in a few minutes. I enjoyed both of these. I thought the latte had a strong espresso base, but the cream top balanced it well after mix. It wasn't super sweet as I expect. The danish was heated up on the tray. I was actually surprised by the size of the danish. It was definitely sweeter and cheesy, but it went well with the coffee. For restroom, they have a shared one in the hallway. You'll need to grab the key from the front counter. Note: They accept American Express. read more
