A convenient spot in the shopping center! So glad there's other options besides a popular mass coffee chain that rhymes with fartrucks haha I enjoyed cold brew here with cinnamon honey syrup and oat milk and paid around $7. I also had an everything jalapeño croissant warmed up and it was so good even the birds near me wanted to eat it. You order on a tablet though, but the baristas did offer to answer any questions I have but I fear this could slow people down. Maybe just me. I'd like to come back though!

    Nice menu, easy to read.

The first thing I noticed about this quaint coffee shop next to my work building was the friendly "hello"! I heard from these two sweet men. Why "hello" right back to you sirs. I like the vibe. To order, there are menu tablets available. Since it was not crowded at my 7am arrival I ordered at the counter. I explained that I like my coffee strong with just a bit of oatmilk. He said "no problem!" and did as I asked. The menu is varied. The baked goods looked fresh so I ordered a chorizo cheese croissant. It was yummy and flakey. When I got my drink it was strong and delicious. I will definitely return! Great service goes a long way in my book.

I tried a matcha latte and an everything jalapeño cream cheese croissant here--both were delicious. I was especially happy to find that the matcha was unsweetened (which can be hard to find), and you have the option to add a sweetener or omit it entirely. They offer a variety of plant-based milks, and overall, the matcha was very flavorful. The café also had a great selection of pastries, including some vegan and gluten-free options. The staff was friendly and helpful, which made for a positive experience. I visited on a Sunday around 9 AM and there was no line, which was a nice bonus. It's a very modern and small place, but you can sit down outside at the tables provided in the middle of the outdoor area of the shopping center. I wouldn't recommend it as a place to study or work from, but it's perfect for relaxing while enjoying your coffee and pastries. One thing to note is that it can be a bit tricky to find if you're following Google Maps--you'll need to walk down the stairs or take an elevator from street level, as it's located just below a shopping center. Overall, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Went to Velo in mid April and really enjoyed my coffee. It was really good and the staff was friendly. The coffee set added to the cute coffee shot vibes. Would come back to this location!

Didn't taste like matcha at ALL! Way too sweet. It felt like i was drinking pure sugar. Wasted $30 bucks on 2 drinks, not worth at all.

So I looked for a coffee spot closer to the restaurant at which I could do some work. Alibi Coffee is only 10-15 minutes from the restaurant, which made it a good candidate--and off I went. It sits on the corner of Washington and Raymond Avenue. While there's one-hour parking on Washington, Raymond seems to offer unlimited parking (other than street cleaning days)--the friendly, helpful barista directed me over there. Inside, it's a tranquil, clean and comfortable environment that mixes contemporary touches with brick industrial vibes. I'm in my cream top era, so I decided to get their Trademark Cream Top Latte, which uses cold brew and house made cream with a hint of brown sugar. The drink was smooth and not too sweet and, all in all, extremely enjoyable. Next time, I might try the Salted Caramel Cream Top Latte. I was warned it was a bit sweeter, but I'd like to see for myself. Wi-Fi seems solid, and there are plenty of outlets (yay!), so this was a great work spot. I'd definitely return anytime I needed to be in this area.

The coffee was good but I wasn't thriving with the amount of sugar it had. I will continue to stick with the Vietnamese choice or a sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk. Those are always on my inviting side for Cafe Dulce. Their Little Tokyo location is also a great visit experience. They have some tasty breakfast burritos there. Other than that, a great cafe to check out with plenty of college students here minding their business.
