Really charming café, restaurant, wine shop, and market all in one. Brunch was delicious, though service was quite slow. During brunch, the service model feels a little awkward because it's not really full table service. You can order either at the counter or at your table, and while reservations are available, the setup can be a bit confusing. One thing to note is that the online menu doesn't fully match the in-store menu, but the chef was happy to accommodate my gluten-free request with a simple plate of eggs, thick-cut bacon, and potatoes. I also ordered the Lavender Shakerato. My server seemed to be new. They accidentally served the drink on the rocks instead of up, but they were incredibly friendly and apologetic. The food more than made up for the service hiccups. The scramble was delicious, the thick-cut bacon smelled incredible, and the potatoes were perfectly cooked. The girls and I were in DTLA for a comedy show at The Upstairs and needed a place to get some yummy food before loading up on drinks at the club. Yelp came through again with the recommendations for this adorable little Italian restaurant about a mile away from the comedy club. We were charmed by the cozy industrial chic decor and chose to sit outside on the festive patio, which is shielded from the traffic on the street by plant boxes full of plants, large umbrellas, and market lights. Love that the table settings are mismatched in the most charming way. Our plates were so beautiful, and we had fun showing ours off to one another. The servers are wonderful and friendly. Our main server took care to ask us what time our comedy show was because she wanted to make sure to get our food out to us so that we wouldn't be late. I thought that was very considerate of her. We ordered the burrata, meatballs, and meat-lovers pizza to share. The burrata and pesto sauce tasted so fresh, and there was enough burrata to spread on top of our meatballs and pizza. The meatballs were very flavorful, and the meat-lovers pizza was quite tasty as well. It was actually the perfect girl dinner for three, and we were pretty stuffed afterwards. One of the regulars who come to this restaurant made sure to tell us how much she loved it here and told us to come back for brunch or lunch. Honestly, you know a place is good when the regulars take time out of their lives to speak to strangers about how much they love it. Great vibes all around with a large selection of different wines. I would definitely come back for drinks with friends, but unfortunately not for a meal. It's located on the first floor of the LEVEL hotel/apartments so the place is really small. In regards to parking, I would recommend street parking or parking across the street where there are two $10 parking lots with lots of parking that is relatively safe. My girlfriend and I walked here, as we were in DTLA already. We have walked by this place many times and it always looks really fun. The best part about dining here is definitely the vibes. The server (there was only one working on Saturday night...) was super nice and friendly but albeit super busy. There was a group in the patio singing karaoke and another large group here for a birthday party. There were a few smaller tables of 2-4 inside for a more relaxed/chill vibes yet still very lively. The food here was not bad but tbh quite mid. We ordered four items in addition to two glasses of wine ($12 + $16). For a starter, we ordered a charcuterie board ($17), caesar salad ($18) and for our mains, we ordered pepperoni pizza ($27), and the cacio e pepe pasta ($20). Now, what really irked me was the order in which the food came out. We definitely expected the charcuterie board and salad first but everything came out in such a WEIRD order. Definitely not fitting for a meal. You order off a QR code and after about 10-15 minutes, the PASTA came out first. And then about 5 minutes later, the caesar salad came out. We waited about 40 more minutes for the pepperoni pizza and then 10 minutes later, the charcuterie board came out AT THE END. ??? I don't know why they think this is normal ?? It's just totally weird and is a big reason why I'm only giving this place a 3/5 despite the great vibes. The food is fine and still tasted good but I just didn't like having to wait until the end of the meal for bread... Btw - I highly recommend the caesar salad! Check out the pictures because it looks as delicious as it tastes. The cacio e pepe was solid. The pizza was more like a flatbread and despite it being the full size rather than the personal size, it was still pretty small and is probably the size of a kids meal at CPK lol. I wouldn't recommend the charcuterie board because it seems really small for bread and two options and it cost $17 and came at the end :( I know it was a busy night but that unfortunately made the service less than ideal. The singular server was really nice and always had a smile on her face. But she didn't really pay us much attention. I ordered both hot and cold teas and WOW!. The strawberry matcha was made to order. Using freshly made matcha, milk and strawberry puree, I also ordered Camille brewed from dried Camille, black tea, and chai tea. The teas were delicious, they also had a variety of milk alternatives including pistachio milk!. The food being prepared smelled sooooo good, as the watched the chef work his magic with fresh ingredients. The staff was super chill and had good energy. They have a great wine selection and menu. The highlight of the meal was their Strawberries & Cream which tasted like a more adult like strawberry egg cream. I actually made myself these when my parents owned a Carvel. I love egg creams so to get strawberry was a welcome surprise! The meatball was way too salty for me. I ended up giving my portion to Tony. The sauce was phenomenal. Meh. Came in for the Valentine's Day pre-fixed menu with my husband last night. Res was for 9:30pm and we didn't end up leaving until around 11pm. Wait staff were nice but lacked any sense of urgency and communication. We were seated and had our drink orders taken, but the drinks (glass of wine and a cocktail) didn't come out until we finished eating our first course... which honestly is insane The courses came out of order, and with long waits in between. The pasta came out first, and then the appetizer, followed by the amouse bouche, then the entree. The food was yummy- For the most part. The mushroom bolognese, the burrata plate and ricotta with crostini's all hit the mark for me - but the entree which was an ossobuco alla milanese was overcooked, dry and suuuuper tough to eat. The dessert ended up being a slice of cake which respectfully... Was pretty obvious it was not the dessert advertised on the menu (was supposed to be dark chocolate budino with espresso foam and blood orange) instead, it was a slice of chocolate cake with caramel and vanilla frosting. Not mad at it, but it didn't give "made in house" and instead kinda just gave... "We picked this up from Ralph's in a hurry"... There was no communication from the waiter that there was a change in this aspect of the menu - Which I personally feel should be granted given the expectations + price for everything. So that was....odd. Also... we opted to sit outside because the fold out tables and chairs setup inside looked a mess. Not elevated at all. Was in downtown for my teen's recital and afterward, we decided to seek out food for dinner. Settled on this restaurant due to the high yelp rating and near proximity to our recital. Parked on the street and walked a block to the restaurant and we were immediately seated on the patio. A man came up and said that we could order via UPC code on a wine bottle or order with him. He explained in length that the ordering by the UPC code was the best way as it got our order in and it allowed for him to spend more time talking with patrons. He even went on to tell us a lengthy story of a lady who didn't want to use it and how he proved to her it was the best in the end. Okay, we got the point, he clearly wanted us to use it. After viewing the menu, we settled on two pizzas and a bowl of pasta for our party of 3. Despite being a wine establishment we didn't order any drinks. We waited quite a long time for food. The first dish to come out was a pizza. They sat it down and it was piping hot. After 5 minutes though it was cooled and there still was no sign of the other food. We kept looking as dish after dish came out to other tables but no one came our way. I really hate it when restaurants do not deliver the entire parties food at the same time. It's really incredibly rude. At least if you are going to do that I expect the other diners food to come out immediately and not like what followed. With my pizza now getting cold my party encouraged me to eat it. So I started. 15 minutes later the pasta came. My daughter was extremely hungry and so she dug in as I was half done with my pizza. We both finished our meals and still no third pizza. We watched as everyone seated after us got their food. My poor husband, who was hungry as well waited and waited. 20 minutes later the man who had talked about the UPC code being the greatest invention ever, comes over to us to check on us. And we ask him where my husband's food was. He goes away comes back and says it's in progress. With no other explanation or apology. Obviously, the kitchen never made my husband's pizza. Another 15-20 minutes go by and finally the pizza comes out and my husband has to eat it by himself. I was fuming mad. Here this man touted the restaurants use of a UPC code as the way to get even more service and it resulted in us all eating separately. When push came to shove, the "waiter" didn't even know what we ordered and had to go find out what was missing and then to add insult to injury, didn't even apologize, send a manger over or this explain why the three of us ate separate dinners. There were 4 staff members working the patio who walked by our table and none of them stopped once to check in with us. None of them appoligized for the wait. This was the most horrendous service I've encountered in a very long time. The man and I call him a man because the word waiter didn't seem to fit. Came over swooped in said the pizza has been taken off the bill and left. My husband left a tip because he didn't feel it was the man's fault but I beg to differ. This restaurant obviously found a way to cut back on waiters using a "host" to go to table to table to sell the great idea of ordering from a UPC code when in fact they are cutting service. The man who "sold" more time to talk customers basically ignored us until we told him there was a problem and then he had to find out what we ordered because he didn't take the order himself. Then on top of being ignored they didn't even say sorry we ruined your dinner and made each one of you eat by yourself. I didn't want to tip because that isn't service at all. We had put money in the meter for an hour and 45 minutes thinking it would be way too much time. But it took 1 hour and 42 minutes to get 3 meals and no drinks. This was the worst dining experience I've had in a very long time and I'm very disappointed that Yelp lead me astray. Why restaurants don't serve food all at once is incredibly infuriating. But not apologizing is even worse. There was a man in blue sweater and jeans who saw we were upset and continued to stand there on the patio. Of the 3 people running around he wasn't. Definitely will not be returning as it's clear this restaurant would rather depend on technology to service people rather than humans. And apparently, they don't train the humans to apologize for tech mistakes in the kitchen. read more

It there was less than 2 oz of espresso and some reason just foam on top (supposed to be steamed milk incorporated in). For the variety of drinks ordered, the guests at the table did not really have much praise. The price point and quality of the pizza did not match. Service...very slow for a not too busy night. I'm unsure why they did not allow for groups greater than 4 to reserve inside. There was literally one table that could seat 8-10 guests. That table had two parties of two in their during the duration our group was present. There were three (?) other tables INSIDE that could seat two people. So...why did we sit outside in the cold? I went to a hosted event at Good Clean Fun a couple weeks ago, and while I didn't eat or really explore the drink menu, I had a great time. The venue was vibrant and intimate, with a cute indoor space and a nice little patio. A pleasant, human-scale wine bar/restaurant/bottle shop in the heart of downtown. There was an open bar set up, and service was both fast and personable. Eventually, several bottles found their way to a table outside, where people were able to serve themselves. I have no real idea what wines I tried over the course of the evening, but I very much enjoyed them all. Good Clean Fun has a full food menu, and I'd love to go back for a relaxed wine-centric dinner. For now, I'm grateful for the (good, clean, fun) party. read more
