I've visited Domi 2x, and only at the Mar Vista Farmers market as I live in the west side. I honestly have loved every single item I've gotten. I feel like their cake boxes are a new thing, as before they had different versions of cakes. It seems like they occasionally switch up what pastries they offer, which is super fun and exciting! This weekend, I got a hojicha cake and a yuzu cake. Both were delicious! The hojicha cake was my favorite. Neither of their cakes are too sweet. They're super light and the flavors all match well together. I'm sad they are leaving Mar Vista, but i definitely will be back to support their East LA locations!

As per usual it has been my anual tradition to request a domi cake since I discovered this bakery. This year's Birthday cake was a 10/10. I can see why this flavor is popular. I got a London fog Birthday cake. Which consists of an earl Grey sponge cake and sprinkles. I felt like a little girl when I cut into the cake. I really dont know how to explain how happy it made me.

I found Domi at the 88rising night market in DTLA. They had a lot of cute little cakes, but I opted to buy their chocolate chip sesame cookie. It was really good, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. A little bit sweet and salty, which was the perfect combination. My friends ordered their cakes and said it was good, so I'd be curious to try Domi's other pastries next time. Overall, the process of ordering this cookie to go was seamless. Although there were many other customers, the service was really quick.

Stunning Asian inspired pastries! We tried the Mango Sticky Rice, Earl Grey Lychee, and Genmaicha Chocolate. The latter had the richest flavor profile, while the others tasted super light. Their desserts would be total crowd pleasers for parties or any celebration! Easy-peasy service. I placed my order online, scheduled a pick-up, and parked along the street, where a smiley lady delivered the goodies to my car. There's minimal face-to-face interaction, which is perfect for introverted me. I could see myself being a regular here! Hope to see pop-ups in OC soon :)

Had my wedding and our wedding cake was a hit! We ordered a 4 tier cake in two flavors: vanilla cake with black sesame buttercream and chocolate cake with genmaicha buttercream. It was SOOO good! We got to take home the upper tier and I had a lovely time eating a little bit of cake every day for a week haha Evelyn's cake came out beautifully! She executed our vision perfectly. We asked for very specific colors and she nailed it! Highly recommend Domi for wedding cake and I highly recommend ordering a sampler because all the flavor combinations were so delicious. Thank you so much Evelyn!

This is my family's pastry shop. We always order all our cakes and pastry here. We started ordering their profiteroles and fell in love with them. Since then, we have been order both their sweet and savory pastries. I really love the short rib pastries and ham and cheese croissants as well. Their aesthetics are really on point as well. Everything is as beautiful as it tastes.

OBSESSED is an understatement. I've seen Domi on Instagram and have tried to order previously, but they were always sold out. I luckily was able to snag one last weekend for my mother's birthday. I ordered a pink jasmine mousse glaze cake and she was STUNNING & carefully crafted with pink watercolor detail and gold flakes. At first, I thought it looked small in person, but we were able to feed 8 with a slice to take home. It came out to $109 after tax and it was worth every penny. My parents are hard to please and always think cake is too sweet, but they adored this. The jasmine cream had such a strong tea aroma and was not overpowering, while the jam was tart, you get a nice fluffy texture from the cake, and a crunchy cracker base to complete that perfect bite. PICK UP: There currently isn't a storefront that I know of, just pick up orders from downtown and temple city ghost kitchens. But, they do pop up events at festivals and food events like SmorgasburgLA! PICK UP DOWNTOWN: On Sante Fe, super easy, free marked street parking, just call the store when you arrive during your pick up window and they bring it out to you shortly, quick and friendly! But make sure if you're running late, to let the store know so they can accommodate you, or you might get charged a late fee. I'm already planning on picking up another cake next month for another birthday and I definitely need to try the profiteroles(cream puffs) as well. (Maybe a personal mini cake for myself because I love them so much)

Beautiful cake with such unique Asian flavors. Makes for a perfect birthday cake as a special treat. The look is so photogenic and is sure to please a crowd. Pick up is easy and a smooth process. Will order again!

Thank you Domi for making my birthday special this year! I usually don't have birthday cake but this year my girl got me this beautiful and delicious mouse cake! I love everything of this cake! I will always get Domi desserts if I am cooking a dinner party at home. These desserts are so well made and beautiful and it's a show stopper when you bring them out at the end for dessert. Domi is short for Doremi. They are two Asian pastry chefs with a Michelin fine dining background who decided to leave their fine dining restaurant in NYC to create profiteroles, cakes, and other pastries with an Asian spin on the flavors. I first tried them through their profiteroles and they are heavenly! If I could afford to, I'd eat one box a week. Their flavors are all so unique such as yuzu, black sesame, earl grey, and their pastry cream is so dreamy and delicious. I got their holiday pastries for Christmas Eve dinner and the little profiteroles shaped like reindeer and Christmas tree shaped mousses were a perfect finish to our holiday meal. Everyone was smiling at the cute shapes and then oohing over the flavors. They work from a ghost kitchen so you will have to place your order online for pick up and drive to Art District. Once it's your time, you will text them the make and model of your car and they will bring the bag out to you. My friend's French boyfriend even said that these profiteroles were better than the ones he had in Paris. Make sure you pick some Domi up for a housewarming gift or a dessert to your amazing, home cooked meal!

    Genmaicha matcha pudding

I only found out about Domi this week when I was browsing Yelp as I looked for a dessert place near Boyle Heights. I found Domi and thought the desserts looked delicious, and was interested in the founders' fine dining background in NYC and how that would translate to their desserts. Domi has two locations, one in Arts District and one in Temple City. They are open from Thursday - Sunday only, and operate on an online pre-order system, there is no physical storefront where customers can spontaneously enter and choose what to buy. The online pre-ordering system is probably not convenient for some people, but they do have an in-person presence at the Hollywood Farmers Market. There is no ambiance to speak of, as Domi staff walk out of the facility to give you your order. I ordered three things on this occasion; the genmaicha matcha pudding, red bean moon cake, and matcha cookie. All three were excellent, but the genmaicha matcha pudding was the real stand-out. My husband, who always says he doesn't like Asian desserts, ate half of this and said how delicious it was. I liked that none of the desserts were overly sweet. Would highly recommend trying Domi and will be a repeat customer.

Most definitely a 5/5 cake for special occasions. Their regular sized cakes range from $60-90 and offer various asian flavors. Ive so far tried jasmin, hojicha & their specialty strawberry jasmine mousse. Each flavor has been EXCEPTIONAL, and a piece of art to look at. They feed 6-8 people. So far it seems to be operating as a ghost kitchen with pick ups available in arts district. You wont regret getting a Domi cake

    Sunny E.

I found them on instagram and their cakes look cute so I wanted to give it a try. Bought 3 pieces different kinds of desserts which came about $25 Cut to the short, they all taste terribly bad... Me and my friends had to trow this away. I liked how it looked though.. good for pictures only.

The drinks and pastries have always made it an easy place for us to grab a treat, so I'm not writing this based on one random first impression. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing enough that I felt I needed to say something. When we came in, the trash cans were overflowing, and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned in quite some time. I understand that cafés can get very busy, especially in Little Tokyo, and I never expect a place to look perfect every second of the day. However, the dining area felt noticeably neglected. With two children, cleanliness is something I pay closer attention to, and it was uncomfortable trying to find a clean area for us to stand and sit. The overall atmosphere also felt disorganized. We waited at the register for help, but it took a while before anyone acknowledged us. A simple "I'll be right with you" would have made a big difference. I have had better experiences here in the past, which is why this visit stood out so much. I'm hoping this was simply a bad day, because Café Dulce has always been a place I was happy to visit with my family. I'm sharing this because I would genuinely like to see the cleanliness and customer service return to the standard I remember. Private Feedback for Management I did not feel comfortable putting the full details of this experience in a public review, but I believe management needs to be aware of what happened. While I was standing at the register waiting to order, the male employee working there was engaged in a conversation with another person and appeared to be openly gloating about drinking while on the job. Based on what I heard and observed, he also appeared to be impaired or intoxicated. He continued the conversation while ignoring me, even though I was standing directly in front of the register waiting to place an order. The tone of the conversation was not subtle or professional. It created a much darker and more uncomfortable atmosphere than what I would ever expect from a family-friendly café. I was there with my two children, and hearing someone behind the register casually talking about drinking while working was deeply concerning. Someone who appears intoxicated while operating a register and handling customers' money creates a terrible narrative for the business. It raises concerns about judgment, accuracy with transactions, food-service safety, and the overall professionalism of the workplace. Even if the employee was exaggerating or joking, it was still completely inappropriate to have that conversation openly in front of customers. What bothered me most was not only the conversation, but the fact that I was being ignored while it continued. I was waiting to spend money at the business, yet the employee seemed more interested in talking about drinking than acknowledging a customer. As a mother standing there with two children, the situation felt uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly a little disturbing. This is not my first time visiting Café Dulce, and I have never felt compelled to complain before. I understand that employees are human and that businesses have difficult days. However, the combination of overflowing trash cans, a dirty floor, being ignored at the register, and an employee appearing impaired while discussing drinking on the job crossed a line for me. I am sharing this privately because I believe management should have the opportunity to address it directly. I hope the situation is taken seriously, not only for the reputation of the café, but for the safety and comfort of the customers and employees.

Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.
