Small Korean bakery shop in Ktla that also makes phenomenal matcha and lattes. However known mainly for their delicious sponge cakes that just melts in your mouth. Stopped by to try their Soosoo latte but saw their newer drink Soosoo matcha so had to try it as well. Overall the matcha was great and the corn flavoring was a pleasant delight. Added a slight sweetness to the drink without an overpowering sugar high. Complimented well with the cakes. As for the cake, you can purchase by the slice ($14) which was pretty pricey or you can order a whole cake. You also have the option of mixing and matching an assortment of slices to build your own pie which can include up to six different flavors ($80). We just decided to try three different cakes and here's our opinion: 1. Mugwort Injeolmi: Mugwort sponge cake with gentle cream and bean crumbles that coated the entire cake (so good). They also included a layer of rice cake (small mochi type bites) but felt the rice cakes were a bit lacking and wish they would have added a little more. The cakes here are not too sweet which I love. Would recommend this! 2. Green Grape Yogurt cake: vanilla sponge cake with Lemon yogurt cream (phenomenal) and perfect amounts of green grapes. My ultimate favorite. A must try. For my next birthday hoping someone would order this cake for me. 3. Banana Choco cake: chocolate sponge cake with dark chocolate cream and bananas. Not an overpowering chocolate flavor. The banana complimented well with the chocolate base. The Soosoo latte and matcha were also good. The corn adds a slight sweetness and a slight 구수한 flavor.
The soosoo latte is delicious, every single time. They make the best corn flavored coffee. The right amount of sweetness and a strong coffee. I love coming here for their little photo booth. It's so cute to have a coffee and leave with a little free souvenir. They make the cutest little cakes, it's $34 each. Parking is terrible, it is valet only but sometimes the valet guy will let you park to quickly go in.
Super cute popular shop that I've always seen on social media so I had to go. Their drink wasn't too sweet, but had interesting texture in it that was served quickly by their nice young workers.

The cakes are all SO pretty and SOOOO cute!! The whole cafe is Instagrammable. My friend and I shared the following slices: - Mugwort Injeolmi: unique, earthy, and delicious! Great texture! Highly recommend trying this one if they have it. Tends to sell out. - Green Grape Yogurt: tasted fresh but too sour and tart for me - Chocolate Earl Grey: yum! my favorite slice! If you like earl grey, get this one!! - Pure Milk Cream: I got this for my daughter because it was SO irresistably cute with the dog picture on top but the flavor was just okay and tasted like any other Korean milk cream cloud cake. Soosoo Latte: I tried this latte iced but the corn flavor was a little too subtle for me. I prefer a stronger corn flavor. Super cute though with the mini corn floating on top. But my favorite thing here was the... **Dubai Mochi Ball**!! DEFINITELY try this! This was the best thing there, better than all the cakes in my opinion. Especially if you're a textural eater, you will definitely enjoy this. The slightly bitter chocolate powder on the outside with the chewy mochi and the crispy phyllo dough interior was seriously the best combination! Let it sit for 30 minutes at room temperature before eating or alternatively, you can microwave it for 3-5 seconds. OMG. SO GOOD! They also have a free little photo booth on the side that prints out paper photos in black and white. So fun and cute! Parking: valet in plaza or street parking
I've had this place on my list for actual years and finally got to try one of their cakes recently. I got the strawberry milk cream cake and had high expectations for $70. Make sure to order ahead! Although they do have limited same day order cakes available, but for an even higher price point. You could tell that a lot of work goes into making these cakes as you slice into them, with the uniform layers and strawberry slices in the cake. The strawberry milk cream was yummy and not that sweet either. Obviously the whole cake was super cute and aesthetic too. The only thing was that the sponge cake itself was not as soft as I was hoping and have definitely had better ones texture-wise. I enjoy their cute candle selections too!
$8-$10 drinks to not even be filled to the top is kinda crazy.... I would come back to try their cakes but their drinks are very uninspired. The flavors aren't strong enough.
Super cute korean cafe! I loved the minimalist aesthetic of the cafe. Each table had a small lamp that added to the ambience. There was upbeat guitar music playing while I was there. This cafe is definitely on the pricier side with each cake slice being $13-14 and the matcha einspanner costing $9. I decided to get the pure milk cream cake slice to go with my matcha einspanner. I would give the pure milk cream cake a 3/5. The cake wasn't very sweet but it also lacked any distinct flavor. I was hoping for a milkier taste because of the name but it honestly just tasted like plain whipped cream. The cake was also on the denser side despite being moist. For $13 a slice I was expecting more. I couldn't finish the slice since the cream felt very heavy as I continued to eat it. I would rate the Matcha Einspanner a 4.5/5. Each cup of matcha is hands whisked by the baristas. The drink is a very vibrant green color, which I love to see. It's very creamy and nutty, it's only slightly bitter. The baristas did a good job preparing the matcha, it wasn't grainy at all. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because it was $9, a little steep for a cup of matcha in ktown. The flavor is on par with other cafes in the area. Koreatown has an abundance of cute cafes and places for you to get matcha. I won't be craving the matcha from here, but i am interested in trying the other cakes here, maybe I chose the wrong slice to try.

The overall vibe of this place is just so cute and cozy. They have the most adorable cake designs. I haven't had the chance to try one yet, but they're almost too pretty to eat! They also have a cute mirror area and a photo booth, which makes it such a fun spot to take pictures with friends. I love corn-flavored drinks, and this is the perfect place to satisfy that craving. It's such a unique flavor combo that pairs surprisingly well with both matcha and coffee. I've been here multiple times, and the quality of the drinks is always consistent. The staff is also nice and friendly and always willing to answer any questions about the menu. Definitely a must-try spot!
Went to grab a New Year's Eve cake - and of course they were all sold out of the mugwort ... and all their normal cakes. However, they did sell a roulette style cake situation where you pay for a cake and you get a random cake. I was already here and drenched from the rain so figured to give it a shot. Ended up with a biscoff type cake. Was really good! Definitely will plan ahead next time for holidays.

We came a little later in the evening and closer to when they close the store and so there was only one flavor to choose trom which was Biscoff Mocha. It was honestly so so good and piqued my interest even more. Harucake is also and first come by basis; meaning, you can purchase per slice or the whole cake itself! Warning: they run out quick! They also have a fun free photo service station where you take a picture and it prints a b&w receipt esque picture! I'm already wanting to plan my birthday (which is in September) to have a cake from Haru! I want the standard cake which has 6 for their signature flavors!
Food Delicious cakes with Asian inspired flavors. They're not too sweet and are very light but you can easily share one slice between two adults. They also have a new Dubai chocolate mini which is delicious but not for those who prefer milk chocolate over dark. Also tried the banana matcha latte and it was a really sweet. Maybe too sweet for my tastes. Service A quick order and go shop, so there's not too much to say about service. Ambience Very cute and it reminds me of the cafes in Asia. However there is not much seating. What little seating they have is meant for small groups.
I bought a few slices of cake from Haru Cake on February 3, 2024, and again on July 12, 2024. I was having a meal at Jeonju Hanilkwan, which is right next door, and noticed a huge line at the cake shop. I was curious about what it was and decided to check it out. On February 3, 2024, I think I waited almost an hour just to get inside. The cake shop was quite small, but it was filled with many beautifully made cakes. I ended up buying three slices: an Injeolmi cake, a tiramisu cake, and a green grape yogurt cake. The cakes were genuinely delicious. But, they were very expensive. I clearly remember paying $42 for just three slices of cake, and I added the tip, the total was even higher. I remember thinking, wow, these cakes are really pricey. Even so, the cakes are so delicious. So, I still want to go back again.

If you're okay with splurging on a slice of cake, you have to try the mugwort injeolmi cake. It has to be one of the best cakes in ktown. (Slice $14, whole $80) It was very easy to order online and go pick it up. The workers are friendly and the place is clean. There are tables you can sit and enjoy your drink and dessert at. read more
Small cake / dessert shop located in tiny strip mall in Koreatown. The interior is pretty minimalist and they have a good assortment/variety of cakes and other desserts. The cakes look delicate and aesthetically pleasing. The folks here are very kind and friendly as well. Since I was getting some cake, I probably should've got something less sweeter to drink, but I couldn't resist getting the soosoo hojicha. Since I love corn, haha, and the description was very corn heavy. I got a slice of the mugwort injeolmi. I've never had it before, but it just looks so interesting. Fortunately and unsurprisingly, it was just as tasty as it was pleasing to the eye. I was by myself so I was able to find a small table pretty quickly but seating to get tight here. I think a lot of the business is takeout. It was also in the late afternoon during the weekday so it was probably one of their slower times. Overall, just a great place for a tree and some caffeinated beverages. Would love to come back and try some other cakes or bring some other people. read more

The cafe interior is exceptionally cute. I really enjoyed the free thermal printed photos. They are known for their fresh milk cream cakes. Corn scone - 100/5, this was AMAZING. The corn flavor is very prominent in the scone and cream, excellent usage of corn chunks. I would return for this alone. Guavaade - 1/5, I'm not sure if they're using grapefruit for the ade part of this drink but it's SO bitter. The guava flavor is not present at all. Vanilla Bean Latte - 4/5, good iced latte with a hint of vanilla bean. Strawberry milk cream & Grape yogurt cream cake slices - 3/5, really well made and beautiful cakes. The cake layers and cream exterior aren't sweet at all, I don't think I'm personally a fan of this type of cake. read more
Absolutely beautiful cakes that are delicious that are also super aesthetically pleasing!! The lines are long but they actually go by pretty quickly. There's also a cute receipt photobooth that you can quickly snap a picture while waiting in line!! Most people are here to order drinks and it seems like the turnaround time for that is quick. I ordered an assorted cake and they quoted a 20-30 minute wait, and it was exactly 30 minutes to wait for the cake on a Saturday afternoon. You can also go on their website to pre-order some of their other cakes! Their cakes are on the expensive side but they are 100% worth it. The cakes are soo delicious with such interesting and unique flavors! With the assorted cake, you get to pick 6 different flavors of their cake slices and they put it together to make a full cake. There are a lot of different flavors, and some of them are seasonal. Here are the 6 flavors I chose: 1. Strawberry Milk Cream 2. Mugwart Injeolmi ** super unique and one of our favorites! 3. It's been a while since the hype started for harucake so I decided it should be a good time to finally try it! I came on a saturday around 1pm and there were a good amount of customers in the store, but no crazy lines like there were back when they first opened. The interior is so cute and I love the little receipt photobooth. It's a pretty small cafe with limited seating. I got a slice of their signature mugwort injeolmi cake ($14). It's a pretty big slice so good for sharing. I loved the soybean cream and the mochi pieces in the cake. The cake itself was good too, but too sweet. I think I could maybe eat 2 bites before feeling overwhelmed by how sweet it was. But the cake texture was good. If they could make it half as sweet or even less I think it would be great! read more
I've been hear before but this time I decided to try their drinks. I ordered the SooSoo latte and it was pretty good. It wasn't too sweet or bitter. My only thing was the cup size was pretty small for the size. It was maybe 5 sips before it was just filled with ice. Staff were super friendly and nice! read more
A cute aesthetic cafe with varieties of cake flavors! We tried 2 cake slices(banana choco and the green grape yogurt) with the banana matcha latte! To my surprised, my favorite is actually the banana choco cake. There's fresh bananas and I LOVE the crunchy chocolate pearls. Give such a nice texture!! The banana matcha latte is very good. It is a lot less sweet than other stores, which is right up my alley. -* I wasn't fan of the green grape yogurt slice. It's less creamy/soft than the banana choco cake and it's more fermented yogurt than green grape fruitiness. Kinda wished if they were able to incorporate grapes as the cream instead. read more

The coffee was just okay, but the cake is definitely the star here. It was incredibly soft, light, and not too sweet, which I really loved. The quality of the cake was great and I'd definitely recommend stopping by for dessert. If you're looking for something sweet without feeling like you're eating a sugar bomb, this is the spot. I enjoyed the relaxed ambiance here, very chill, and easy going service, didn't feel rushed. Very cute vibes. read more

A friend recommended this cute place to me! I ordered one of the Thanksgiving cakes (Mont Blanc Chestnut) for the family and it was an absolute hit! Everyone commented on how good it was and was quickly devoured. It was not too sweet so that was a big plus! I also got myself a strawberry milk that was pretty good! Minus one star because the service was lacking a bit. read more
3/20/2026 1 Star taken off for valet parking. High prices of cakes and other pastries. First time at Harucake! Queued this place for awhile now! MUGWORT INJEOLMI Very subtle mugwort flavor and injeolmi flavor. Cake itself was light and not too sweet. There were bits of mochi balls inside, which reminded me of mugwort rice cake and injeolmi rice cake. Crunchy topping was good and had that buttery nutty flavor that did taste a bit like injeolmi cake. The flavors together brought this nuttiness to the cake as a whole. I love how they incorporated both beloved rice cake flavors into one cake! Wish the mugwort and injeolmi flavors were stronger to make a statement. I felt it was neither here nor there. I could taste both flavors, but still very subtle, reaching flavors. If it had stronger flavors of both, I think it could be such a unique and fun cake to eat! BISCOFF MOCHA Very good! Biscoff flavor all around! This is for the biscoff lover! The mocha cake had a light mocha flavor and complemented the biscoff cream. The cake was soft and fluffy, cloudlike! The outer chocolate coating was really good with the cake. The biscoff flavor is big in this cake! It is exactly what I thought a biscoff cake would taste like! Very well done! Enjoyed every bite! I would order a whole cake for a special occasion! GREEN GRAPE YOGURT Beautiful vanilla sponge. Fluffy, cloudlike and light in texture. Just dreamy! Cream tastes like light plain yogurt and a bit lemony in flavor. Still, very light and subtle in flavor for both. Green grapes are fresh and had that juicy fresh crunch. I guess the fresh green grapes stand out the most because that is the main texture. However, I wasn't a fan. I appreciated the cake, but wouldn't order it again. PURE MILK CREAM The vanilla sponge was good, fluffy, but the Green Grape Yogurt cake had the best vanilla spongecake out of all the cakes I've tried. Still, very good texture. Vanilla cream was creamy in flavor. It had an extra milk creaminess in flavor. I couldn't quite place it though. Just more creamy milk flavor, not whipped cream flavor. However, that is the main flavor, so it may not be for everyone. CHOCOLATE EARL GREY Three slices of cake were in one box, so this cake got smushed on the side. Cake was a light cocoa and Earl Grey flavor. Chocolate pearls throughout the cake which brings a chocolatey crispy crunch with each bite. The outer Earl Grey cream does have that Earl Grey flavor. However, it did taste too milky in flavor. Wish it had slightly less cream. I think the inside cream may be the same as the outside, but due to the chocolate pearls and Earl Grey sponge cake, I felt the Earl Grey flavor was more prominent. This cake slowly started deteriorating due to lots of cream and chocolate pearls. So please eat the cakes as quickly as possible. I ate it within 24 hrs. which is a long time for a fresh cream cake to be sitting in the fridge. Still, the fresh cream was still fresh and light in texture. It was good, but wished there wasn't any chocolate pearls in it. The texture was a nice addition, but still would have preferred without it. EGG TART This was eaten the day after, stored in the fridge. I ate it slightly at room temperature, although the custard was still cold. The outer layers were still flaky and a bit crispy, given I ate it the day after. The custard had a good vanilla bean flavor and did not taste eggy at all. I liked the overall flavor, but still I recommend the cakes over the egg tart. NUROONG LATTE Could not taste the nuroong flavor. Only the crunchy toasted rice on top added the toasted rice flavor to the coffee. I would not get this again. It was not what I thought it would be. My favorite cake: Biscoff Mocha I think the biggest shock is that the cakes are all expensive! It was $13-$14 per slice! The egg tart was $7.5! I rarely mention prices on reviews, but I had to on this one. It is absolutely ridiculous. But had to try it! I think this may be why there are so many mixed reviews. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was good. They were getting busy yet they did their best to smile and give good service to customers. AMBIANCE / SEATS It is a cute place. The space is much bigger in person. Quite a bit of tables and seats and a clean bathroom too! PARKING As always, parking in LA is pure hell. So when Harucake's strip mall offers valet parking for $3, I will take it! Street parking was too hard to find and driving around and around is just not worth it. $3 is for lunch hours. Dinner hour would go up to $5. Once you park inside Harucake's parking lot, you cannot leave the premises on foot. They will ask you to pay $15 for all day parking. Honestly, inspite of their high-priced cakes and pastries, I would return! I haven't had delicious cakes like this in a long while! I truly enjoyed trying their cakes and as a dessert lover, Harucake takes the cake, literally! I will definitely buy whole cakes for special occasions in the future. read more

Ahhh I LOVE aesthetic cafes!! They are just so, so fun to browse and dine in, and there's always a quirk about them that makes you coming back for more! I heard that this place can have some lines, but luckily my friend and I came here on a weekday afternoon where there was no line at all. When I walked in, I was immediately captivated by how adorable the place was - the decor, "photobooth", food, etc just brought out so much personality to the establishment. This place is pricy not gonna lie, but that's to be expected with cafes such as this one - in my opinion, it was all worth it! The pastries and drinks and cakes were as beautifully decorated as the place, and were tasty! Would definitely come here again after I save up a bit! read more

The Banana Matcha Cloud, Sweet Cream Latte drinks and their cakes Banana Choco and Biscoff Mocha are the best I have tasted. Not too sweet and so satisfying. The shop is small but cozy. The staff are friendly and always smiling. Will definitely come back. You should try it. read more
This spot is such a gem! I tried this for the first time and will definitely be coming back. The interior is really cute and there's a black&white photo you can take. We tried the banana cloud matcha and the soosoo latte. The banana flavor was subtle and not too sweet. Soosoo latte tasted so good with a sweet corn flavor. The mugwort injeolmi cake has multiple layers with bits of injeolmi inside. So yummy and not too sweet! Service takes a little longer if it's just, but the employees are super accommodating and sweet. Their birthday candles are the cutest! read more
I have been searching forever for a grape vanilla cake (they sell a good one in Taiwan) and this place's green grape yogurt, I daresay, was even better! The lemon yogurt complements the light vanilla cake so well and the green grapes add a delicious sweet touch. Their cakes are so cute as well, looks too perfect to eat! In fact, the entire cafe is super aesthetic! Great service. The place is small with only a few tables on the side. Came on a Sat at 12:30 pm and there was around a 10 min wait to order. Was lucky and able to grab a table shortly afterwards. The cakes are pricey but worth it. They also sell really cute bday candles and cards. Parking sucks. Their lot is small and I think only has valet parking. We parked at Hmart across the street which validates parking if you buy something there. read more
Haru Cake in Koreatown is a splurge-but worth it. We tried the Biscoff Mocha, Chocolate Earl Grey, and Banana Choco cakes. Yes, it's $14 a slice, but you can taste the quality-perfectly sweet, soft, and made with premium ingredients. The Biscoff Mocha was my favorite, but all three were excellent. The SOO SOO Latte (a corn latte) was unique and good, though the cups are on the smaller side. The café is cute with a little photo area, but seating is limited. It's a treat-yourself spot-pricey, but you'll understand why. We'll be back for more flavors- when we're ready to indulge again! read more
As a matcha lover, I was so excited to try Harucake after seeing the Soosoo Matcha Latte on TikTok. The matcha itself was good yet nothing special, but the addition of corn was such a unique twist and flavor that took my latte from good to great! The corn is not a real corn on the cob because it seemed to dissolve if it was submerged in the liquid (they tell you not to submerge it), but there did seem to be some real corn kernels in it! It may seem like an odd combination, but it tasted great. Their cakes seemed to be a really popular option and they looked super cute! I would love to try one next time I'm in the area. The store itself was really cute, if a bit small. We couldn't tell where the line to order started because of it being so small and crowded, and people who arrived while we were waiting for our drinks seemed to have the same experience. They had a free photobooth that printed black and white photos on receipt paper (as shown on the wall behind my latte), but unfortunately it was out of paper when I was there. I visited on the hottest day on Earth, the line was out the door, and it was incredibly crowded in this small store front. The interior is so cutely decorated. The staff is so friendly and were working as quickly as possible. Shoutout to the man who let me sit down, I appreciate you! The milk crème cake was so delicious and light and airy. It tastes like a whipped cream cloud with the airiest cake you've ever tasted. Definitely worth trying once! I had a great time. read more

Korean aesthetic vibes in this place. Their delicately decorated cake design is so lovely. Love those korean inspired drinks and cakes. And cute candles... products.. This was the cutest place ever!! They had so many Knick knacks, a little photo printer thing, and a lot of cute candles. I loved these cakes. The banana choco was 10/10 and not too sweet! They balanced the banana flavor with the chocolate very well. The strawberry cake was good, but not great. Hard to find street parking so we paid $20 for parking valet in the plaza. Line took about half an hour, but didn't deter me too much as I was excited to try this place after seeing it everywhere! There's a lot of cute photo ops and they even have a free photo booth that will print a paper picture. A bit small inside but ambience is very cute. We got: 9/10 Strawberry Milk ($6): Honestly can't go wrong with this one. Milky and sweet. I would recommend this one for sweet tooth's. 6/10 Soosoo Late ($7.5): Not a fan of this one. I don't think corn goes well with lattes, but it was worth a try! 10/10 Injeolmi Mugwort Cake Slice ($14): Don't have a picture of the cake, but it was grey and moldy looking until you took a bite. I dream about this place ever since I moved up to the Bay -sigh-. I've been here so often during my time in LA that I found out that the cakes aren't out yet for purchase until noon on any given business day from going super early on a random Wednesday. The 11am-12pm gap in the store hours is to get the cakes ready to serve. The space itself is quite small and minimalistic with few and short bamboo seating no higher than maybe 2 feet tall, not very comfortable for my tall kings and queens but I've gone here to journal many times and have left with little back pain. During busier hours especially since the place blew up on TikTok, expect to stand or fight for seats. There is no WiFi so I wouldn't recommend trying to study here unless it's offline although I've seen people get work done so I guess it depends on you! Service is sometimes quick if the cafe is not busy. Baristas are willing to answer questions about their cakes and coffee. The last time I was there in May I remember overhearing a conversation with a regular about the acidity of the new coffee beans they switched to (I am a latte stan so I know very little about coffee). Nonetheless I always love to be around people who are passionate about their work. I've tried their Pure Milk Cream and Mugwort Injeolmi cake. They're both very light, fluffy, and not too sweet. If you're familiar with Asian cakes then you'll understand. So worth taking my Lactaid for. Of the drinks, I've tried the Soo Soo latte and Strawberry Milk, both also very yummy! Honestly I've never been disappointed in the food and the rotational menu makes me look forward to future visits whenever I'm in LA. Truly a one of a kind experience. read more
I decided to give this spot a try despite many of my friends describing Harucake as "mid"... boy should I have listened. I ordered the Matcha Latte with regular milk and it was not impressive at all. I like that it was foamy, but it wasn't as sweet as I preferred it to be :/ It didn't taste grassy, but it just didn't hit the spot for me. For $7.75 after tax, I was hoping it would be a drink I would genuinely enjoy. Drinks came out within 5 minutes of ordering, which I appreciate. The interior design was very cute though! There's only a couple small tables, but everything was very clean. They also sell cute candles and magnets by the cashier section! Moreover, they have a cute area where you can take a receipt photo booth pic for free! Service was great. The staff members were kind and patient.
