Beautiful dessert, but as bingsoo, it's just okay. No where near as good as Sul & Beans when it comes to flavor and ingredients. We got the ube, mango and mixed grain (misugaru). The ube doesn't taste like ube at all. The purple powder had no flavor. The mango slices were a bit sour, but I liked the vanilla ice cream and overall the flavor was very refreshing. The misugaru wasn't very nutty-tasting and the mochi on top was hard. Their walnut cakes are delicious though. I'd come back for those.
Stumbled upon this treasure after searching for a light dessert after dinner! I absolutely adored the presentation along with the flavors. I ordered the strawberry and it came out very quickly. Condensed milk refills were also no charge which I appreciate and love. The strawberries were cut fresh and drenched with a strawberry glaze as well. A plop of vanilla ice cream definitely did not hurt hahaha. Overall I was super satisfied with the flavors as it was up to par with all the other snow places I have been to. Hidden in the very middle was scoop red bean for those that enjoy that. My final thoughts are it was quite pricey ($17) which was surprising for snow... hence the four stars. However there was plenty of seating and there is a parking structure under the establishment. Final Verdict: Satisfying!!!
Underrated spot right across from Mi Cafe on the second floor of the M Plaza. They do take a LONG time to fulfill orders, but you can definitely tell it's because they're making everything fresh. The Garlic Cheese Toast was soooo crispy, flavorful, fluffy, and just unreal. And everything's reasonably priced considering it's in ktown. If you're studying or working on the second floor patio, I highly recommend trying something from Ooyoo Cafe!
I really like their bingsoo, their ice is super finely shaved and has an actual flavor compared to some cafes where it's just straight ice. the toppings are better than most places, the red bean actually tasted like it was made in house as opposed to being paste from a can. the service was lovely, she brought it to our table instead of just letting us pick it up from the counter. the cafe was super quiet when we went, but very calm and cool inside to offset the heat outside. totally recommend if you want good bingsoo
Honestly, this place is the best so far when it comes to bingsu and the prices!!!! I order the mango bingsu and everything was perfect, refreshing and yummy. The mango is so fresh and so much in flavor and had so much sweetness to it, I couldn't stop and wanted more! The portion was so good for the price! I also order the taiyaki the 5 for $9.95 and truly believe it's worth the price and got to mix my flavors for the inside. Ordered the red bean, custard, Nutella, and Oreo. The stand out was the Nutella of course, it's crispy on the outside and nice and soft and gooey on the inside. Ambiance: everything well lit and nicely clean, there's also outside seating, like a little lounge and very nice to hang out!

The pancakes and mango shaved ice were both really great! I don't think it was anything better than other places but it definitely still hit the spot, and was exactly what I wanted when we stopped by. The thing I love the most is the ambiance of the place. There's plenty of outdoor seating with cute/comfy outdoor furniture. Strongly recommend stopping by for a quick post-meal dessert!
Plenty of seating makes this a great spot to escape the heat and hang out with friends. I saw lots of groups sharing the large shaved ices. They even give you multiple bowls and silverware to make sharing easier. The mango shaved ice was delicious, fresh, flavorful, and not too sweet. We didn't even feel the need to add the condensed milk. I'll definitely be back with a bigger group so I can try more flavors!
Would highly recommend this place for dessert! If you're looking for a sweet treat, Ooyoo is a great choice! We ordered the hotteok and the custard taiyaki. Both came out hot and fresh. The hotteok was very hot and slightly crispy. The custard taiyakis were light and weren't batter heavy. We also ordered the matcha slush which had a very strong matcha flavor and was slightly bitter. It had red beans in it too. Would recommend ordering if you're a matcha lover! Service was good and they took our order down quickly. There is plenty of seating in the shop and a patio as well. There's also parking above and underground. Would come back!
Ooyoo should be renamed to Oooyaaaa!! Great little cafe with an inviting upstairs patio with lots of plants. They have a private lot to park with a security guard. I usually go in the evenings for a quick bingsu fix. I'm not a bingsu connoisseur, but I really enjoy Ooyoo's. The service is fast and friendly, great seating and delicious desserts. They also do freshly made Taiyaki's, which are often ordered by other patrons. The strawberry Bingsu had sweet strawberries and definitely can feed multiple people. I also enjoyed their black sesame one that comes with mochi and red beans inside. Ooyoo is easy to get in and out of. They're open till 9:30 on weekdays and later on weekends.
Another bingsu place. I love the open seating area, this is shared with the other cafe in this building. We ordered large Mango bingsu, they used not the Atulfo or yellow mango, hence it's not that sweet. The shaved ice is fine and good, red bean inside is well cooked and big portions and pieces. If I will compare this with some other bingsu place, I think theirs is the same but I had better. We also tried their taiyaki in cream cheese and red bean flavors--both were delicious! They had a nice crunch on the outside and a chewy texture inside. The filling was generous and made for a satisfying treat.

This taiyaki blows everyone else out of the water (no pun intended) Service was sweet and the atmosphere is pretty cool cuz you can hang on a large outdoor area with a nice layout. Lots of chairs available, but it was quite crowded. Parking underground. Affordable from what I recall, under $10 for 3. Id love to try other items!
Delicious Korean snacks here! My kids were hungry so we decided to try this place out. We ordered the Honey Rice Cake, Garlic Cheese Toast and Taiyaki (Nutella and Cheddar). All of them were yummy! My kids gobbled everything up and I only tasted a bit of each. I liked the Honey Rice Cake. Sweet and just a bit chewy and the honey oozing out of these yummy things! The Garlic Cheese Toast was good, buttery and of course cheesy. The taiyaki were both good too. When I'm in the area, I'll stop by and order these again!
Solid dessert place in Koreatown. They serve classic Korea desserts like bingso, taiyaki, hotteok, and more. There was lots of seating. Mostly self service, you ordered at the counter then wait for your order. Mango bingso - 5/5 super good, the mango were sweet and ripe. There was a layer on red beans under the shaved iced. Shaved iced was milky and tasty. Taiyaki - 2/5 was meh. The custard was almost like scrambled eggs. Hotteok - 4/5 solid, nothing too special but overall good. read more
Last Sunday, June 21th, after having our Father's Day family dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant, we all went to Ooyoo Cafe for dessert. We ordered taiyaki, hotteok, ginger tea, and chamomile tea to share. Unfortunately, the ginger tea was too sweet--it was almost impossible to drink. Ginger tea should have a natural ginger flavor, but the sweetness completely overpowered it. It also seemed like the café might have changed owners because the menu looked a little different. What surprised me the most was how much their tea service had changed. In the past, when you ordered tea, it was served in a glass teapot with matching glass teacups so everyone could share. Now they said they only have paper cups, and each person has to order their own tea separately, similar to how Starbucks serves drinks. That was the most disappointing part of the visit. I went there expecting the same experience as before, but it was completely different, which was quite surprising. I was also disappointed with the outdoor seating. They used to have comfortable cushioned sofas outside, but they've all been replaced with hard metal chairs and tables which made the outdoor seating much less comfortable. read more

Bought a strawberry ice cream as they recently made an ice cream cart. I paid $6 for a scoop of strawberry ice cream seeing that others got a lot. But when it came to mine, they decided to skimp....? Very unhappy with this transaction. read more

Food: Ooyoo bingsu: 9/10 (size: small) I'm not a huge fan of red bean but this changed my mind. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and they were very generous with the toppings. A small is the perfect size for 2 people. Definitely the best bingsu i've tried!! Taiyaki: 8/10 - custard & red bean You can't go wrong with Taiyaki's but I liked how crispy the batter was and the amount of filling inside. Service: Average Didn't really interact with the worker there but the food came out pretty quickly! Ambiance: 10/10 The cafe is located inside a plaza which has sooo much seating outside but the cafe itself also offers a lot of seating. It's well decorated and aesthetically pleasing. Extra: - Restrooms for customers - Free water - Outside patio closes at 11pm but store closes at 10pm - Cute photobooth in the seating area Definitely worth checking out and I will definitely be coming back!! read more

Such a great spot for authentic Korean desserts in Koreatown! Everything tasted fresh, and you can really tell they put a lot of care into what they make. The Mango Bingsu was light, refreshing, and loaded with fresh mango, the Taiyaki had a perfectly crisp exterior with delicious homemade sweet red bean filling, and the Hotteok was warm, chewy, and so satisfying. One of my favorite parts was learning that they make their red bean paste from scratch it really makes a difference in the flavor read more

For the longest time, I always thought that Oakobing was the go-to place when it comes to finding good Bingsu (Korean shaved ice dessert) in KTown, but there certainly was a paradigm shift after trying this place out! Ooyoo is a solid contender for the spot of best bingsu purveyor in KTown, the place is a bit difficult to find but well worth it once you manage to get to it. The seating itself is such a nice touch. There are big booth-like, semi round couches outside with what looks like a fireplace in the middle, so perfect for large groups. My favorite was the strawberry bingsu, but the other two flavors that we tried were very (injeolmi and black sesame) were also highly recommended. They also sell Ah-Boong, a fish-shaped waffle cone filled with your choice of filling. We went with the red bean paste, and it was great. Parking isn't too difficult in the area either. read more

Bungeoppang 5/5 - we tried their bungeoppangs and it is pretty good! There is a bit of a mochi texture inside. I like how you can choose any flavors you want without a limit. Each piece can have a different flavor! Staff is very friendly. I think it's a really new building so it's pretty clean and quiet. read more
After eating dinner, we wanted some dessert and we wanted to try somewhere new so we decided to check this place out! We loved how spacious the cafe was! Their menu had a lot of the popular Korean desserts too! We tried their injeolmi powder bingsoo and their taiyaki. The desserts were.. okay.. you can definitely get better bingsoo and taiyaki at other places. The bingsoo didn't really have that multigrain soybean flavor. And it clumps when you try to eat it. Looking for a Hot summer treat?! Came here on a Saturday with my little family and got to enjoy some Bingsu and Hotteok (popular south Korean street food, it is a chewy texture pancake filled with brown sugar and nutty mixture, in this case sunflower seeds). We ordered the mango bingsu. It came with some vanilla ice cream and azuki red beans. Kids loved both items we ordered. Made to order so there was a little bit of a wait. Not crowded so there were plenty of seats/tables. Definitely worth trying if you're in the area. There's a private parking lot and street parking. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!! Discovered this gem from Koreatown's ig and came running! I've had plenty of boong-uh-bbangs (the fish shaped waffle with gooshy sweetness inside). The bread is so mochi like and it's so crispy and HOT! Like whatever you imagine your dream boing-uh-bbang to be like, this is IT. The red bean & custard are 10 out of 10. GET THE CRISPY BUTTER SAUSAGE TOAST 11 out of 10 Very clean establishment esp restroom , park in their lot or in the KFC lot (shared with this building). read more

Cute cafe with great dessert items! Tried the strawberry bingsoo and the hotteok, and both were pretty perfect. The bingsoo had some of the red beans they make in house. The hotteok was hot and chewy and covered in walnuts. Located on the 2nd floor, plenty of free parking. read more

I saw this cafe while driving down Olympic and decided to give it a try as Ktown only has 2 bingsoo spots to go to. There's free parking but be careful of on/incoming traffic as the driveway is only built for one lane. The shaved ice base is like water, where the ice melts within 2 minutes of getting your order. It's the most sugary bingsoo that I've tasted in my life. The ice cream piled on top makes it even more sugary. I did enjoy the bboongeobbang but I wouldn't be back here. Giving an extra star because of the service. read more
