If I could give them negative stars, I would. After doing a system update (which was designed to improve service), when using Chrome Web Browser, ALL Google sites including my Gmail accounts would not open. I got a "PROTOCOL ERROR" message every time. Tried to open news.google.com, Gmail, and even YouTube would not work. Their system update has some major bugs BLOCKING anything Google. Even my cell phone when using it at home connected via wireless router with BendBroadband, Chrome on the phone would not work. Same error. Called tech support and they had no solution on how to fix this but I discovered a developer who could modify Chrome to make it work again. This company is a total joke as they called me asking for help on how I got it to work. For the sake of everyone else, I gave them the information but the bottom line is their updated system changes need to be fixed on their end and tested before making changes. They could have caught this horrible system flaw if they would have tested it first rather than doing a system update. I tried to help them before they called me and they had very little interest in what I had to say. I warned them that this was not a isolated case and there would be more people calling with the same issue. They did not seem too concerned until the next day when they started getting all those complaint calls. I feel bad for the people that work there on the front lines because they are usually very nice folks but corporate needs to get their act together! read more

While the folks who work for Bend Broadband do their best to be helpful, Bend Broadband's systems are a mess. I am an authorized user on many accounts and they don't have any record of me. So I have to waste my time, their time and the cable subscriber's time to get a bill paid. The survey after a phone interaction is worthless and asks you to rate the person you spoke with, not the problem resolution. Bend Broadband is a classic cable company. Lousy. read more

Been with BBB for over 8 years, when they were the local dog they always treated me right until recently. since I started service with them I have paid at the end of the month. a few months ago they changed their billing system around and it has affected my way of paying my bill. So I asked them if they could help me and they said no problem, what they failed to tell me is that they are now charging me one and a half months in advanced, got a bill today 11/8/17 stating that I owed them $664 for what I usually pay of $245. this statement said that I was over due for the last bill that I paid on 10/30 of $245. When I called them to ask what was going on, they told me that since I changed my billing due date that they had to change my bill around to make the difference. Soo they NEED to charge me one and a half months before my due date to make the difference. It's Nov 8th and I already owe a cable bill for Nov 4th thru Dec 19th. of $644 I've always paid my bills and cant afford this with holidays to pay for something I have yet to receive. I don't recommend this company that I have been with for years and have seen tons of changes but this one is too much money for me to handle. Trying to possibly cancel services with Bend Broadband. When I go to their generic page and do a search for how to cancel services, there isn't a link....it directs me back to the homepage. Not a shocker. I guess they are hoping that 1) I won't cancel services and 2) I won't take the time to follow up with a phone call - where I'm sure I will be put on hold for hours. At my property manager's urging, I went ahead and decided to give Bend Broadband a try for my small business. I really wanted to like this company, but wow, the other reviewers aren't kidding. This has been the rockiest setup experience I've ever had with any tech company. It took weeks to get the service started with many phone calls required just to schedule someone to come out here and get the service connected. I kept getting transferred around and no one seemed to know who to send me to to schedule the service setup. Now I am trying to determine how much data I am using, but am unable to create an online account. Apparently I have an invalid account number. After calling the number on the page for creating a new account, I got transferred around a few times, with long hold times at each transfer. On the plus side, everyone I've interacted with so far is kind and seems to want to help--they just don't seem to know how. read more

Asked to cancel phone service and the sales person told me my bill for WIFI only would actually go up by giving up my home phone. Yah that makes a lot of sense. If you miss a payment they will shut of your service and make you pay a penalty. My husband was in the communications business for over 45 years and we have lived all over the western us. This company is the worse we have ever experienced. Their technical service is deplorable and their customer service isn't any better. All of their staff is lacking training in all fields. And the customer service on the phone is horrible. After moving, they still continued to bill us for service, refused to recognize a copy of an invoice showing that our real estate rep brought back the modem box. I moved to TDS TV+ a few months ago from an older system which was pretty good but did not have a high internet speed. They removed my old hardware and installed this new stuff. Total garbage. I see more problems with this new service and devices in one day that I saw in 3 months with my old hardware and plan. Do NOT consider this package. I have a list of about 8 things that happen often from recordings hanging and rebooting to boxes not connecting to the router. Router needs power reset almost every other day or weird stuff happens. The TV performance sucks. Often just spins in mid flight, or when turning on the TV. I found out if you want unlimited internet, you have to have the TV plan. Basically, I look at it as expensive unlimited internet with free crap TV thrown in. Total joke!! read more

Terrible, monopolizing company: -Bad service that cuts out frequently - Outdated hardware that you are charged a rental fee for monthly -Data caps -Throttled speed when streaming too much -Very, very high priced for the service you get (compare to Verizon, AT&T, etc.) -Instead of shipping you hardware, must schedule appointment during workweek for company to install -Terrible customer service I was paying $50/mo with AT&T for wireless internet, no data caps, and two wireless DVRs. I am paying twice as much for no DVR, and service that cuts out frequently. The worst part is, they pay large amounts of money to keep the competition out - they are the only cable provider in the area and therefore can charge whatever ungodly amount they choose along with grossly mistreating their customers because they don't know any better. Their billing department cannot get a handle on their automated recurring billing program. It's been 3 years with no resolve. We've been using the same card with no expiration issues, no balance issues and no number changes - yet somehow every other month we get a late notice and we have to re-set up our recurring billing in our account. When we call we are on hold for 15 minutes + and the representatives always say the same thing, that they cannot view anything in our account to help and we have to correct the problem on our own! Funny I was having problems with my tv and internet I call at 8 am sit on hold for almost 25 minutes when I pick the option that I'm already a customer but when I choose new customer I got through in 30 secs that's pathetic. Then I had my boyfriend move in and we merged our accounts and now that I want him off of it I have to start a whole new account with a whole new deposit even though I have done that twice this year no thank you bend broadband you get off on being the only place in town, and charging the most ridiculous rates and a three hundred deposit for tv no thanks. read more

I have had BendBroadband less then a year. I hAve had to call them at least once a month for issues. Twice they had to come I out and I switch out a faulty top box, once to replace the botttom box because it had not been updated since 2013 and was unable to do more updates. I had to have the whole system replaced less then a month later The technician told me that I had the old system and that he had not installed that system in well over a year. I told him I had it less than 9 months (he was surprised). He then told me it was probably because BendBroadband had bought out a cable company in a do idlffert town and they were giving those customers the newer equipment. The modem/router is awful. I had to buy a wireless router and have them turn the router portion off on theirs just so we could stream Netflix without it lagging. I called to add a box and was told it would be $25 for a tech to bring one to my house I or I could just go too the office and pick one up to save the fee. WRONG. My wife was told when She got there that they could not give me one that thhwy would have to dispatch a technician to bring is one. I called them back and explained what I was told. The customer service person said "oh yeah they don't so ok those at the office they are kept in the warehouse. The warehouse is literally 1 block up the street. Why can't they stock some in the office? I know. If they did that they would miss out on the $25 they get to charge for someone to come bring it to me. read more

Wow! They disconnected me because I had an old service. Which worked fine, I could watch movie, do all I needed to do at home, and big stuff in town. Instead of raising my rates, they disconnected my service. Two days later, no solution, if it is fixed, for bare minimum I am at almost 100.00. A $40.00 increase from my previous rate. Really??? We've been a BBB customer for many years. We've had nothing but problems on every level with them since they were taken over by another company. The problems are too numerous to list. Today was the cincher. After moving to another address where we also had service, and among other technical issues, they kept sending the bill to the previous address. Trying to resolve this issue, they said we needed a pin number which they would send...which they also sent to the wrong address. A bill for two months finally gets to us which was due on the 15th of July per statement. We sent a check on the 2nd. They cancelled our service on the 9th! Called them up and they said they'd turn it back on for $25! The entire issue was their fault! This is how they treat a customer after ten years? We are done with this crooked incompetent company! Without notifying her, ( they said they sent a letter that was not received) After a couple of days of not being able to check on her I live 4 hours away I finally contacted Bend Broadband and was told it was due to lack of payment, I promptly paid the bill and service was restored. After going to the office not once but twice to find out the Bend Broadband was in error the account was current and a credit would be issued. Our family's experience with BendBroadband has been long, well over a decade. It has been frustrating at times, but since we work from home and what we had heard about other services we stuck it out. This August we moved for the first time in 15yrs, only moving a few miles away. We called and set up a date to transfer our services to our new home. The wait period was almost a month, leaving us without internet for 1week, frustrating but not the reason for 1 star. On the day the technician arrived to set our internet up he showed up and informed us that they didn't have the right set up for our address. Ok, we can handle unexpected hiccups. He then informed us that we would be at the back of the line again, almost another month. We moved in on August 1st, and we were now late into september. The whole time we would be incurring service charges for a service we were not getting. At this time we thought, due to working from home during the COIVID, we were going to try out another service. They were able to have a technician out in less than a week. So we cancelled services with Bendbroadband at the very end of august. During the cancelation they let us know that a box would be sent to us where we could send back the modem that belonged to them. They gave me a generous 3weeks to return the modem. That is all that was said. The box arrived 4 days later, and I took the box to a UPS drop center 2 days after that. 6 days after the cancelation call. This weekend we received a letter threatening to send us to collections for unpaid services and unreturned equipment. We attempted to get ahold of them for 2 days, finally getting ahold of someone I was able to find out that; They admitted that they did receive the modem on time and the reason that there were unpaid services is because they deleted our automatic payment set up a month prior to the cancelation without telling us. When I asked why they took such an extreme tactic of sending a letter that states "will be referred to a credit reporting collection agency" for mistakes that they made and gave me no opportunity to help fix, they had no answer or apology. I highly recommend you shop for another service before using Bendbroadband. I am business owner, and support buying local. I do not like purchasing services from a business that is outside of a community that my family has lived in for generations. And you should be aware that Bendbroadband is no longer a locally owned company. It is subpar in many ways and falsely represents what it provides our community. P.S. when I was on the phone cancelling with Bendbroadband they offered me a temporary, for 2yrs, reduced price that matched my new provider to the penny. We were loyal customers, through poor years of service, and you don't offer reasonable rates until we threaten to leave. Where is the reward to loyalty? At least the other providers lock your rate in and do not increase it after 2yrs. read more

I tried to see how much it would cost to add long distance to my father's account at a local retirement facility, they sent me to 4 people, all of which were no help at all.
