We have done take out from here twice now. It's a bit tucked away in a plaza and if you blink you will miss it. The place is a true mom/pop shop. The service here is AMAZING. They greet you with tea and a handful of sweets. The owners are so charming and go out of their way to show their gratitude to you. They are a friendliest people who are genuinely happy to be sharing their cooking with you, they are proud of their little restaurant and it shows. The food is great. They have a mix of burmese/thai food. I've had their tea leaf salad, pad see ewe, their curry, the papaya salad and their soup. Prices are super reasonable and their servings are a good size. If your like me and have no clue what to order at a Burmese food restaurant this is your place to go. I love everything about this restaurant. This is such a charming spot and so welcoming. Everything from the way they set the decor, to the way you are treated when you come in to have some great food. Of you want to try some great dishes, I suggest the tea leaf salad and Rakhina Mohinga but there is something here for everyone. They also have everyones favorite Thai dishes. I ordered delivery via UberEats and was impressed with the flavours of the food. We ordered chicken satay, fried tilapia, papaya salad, vegetable egg rolls, and samosas. The food was well-packaged for delivery and still warm, but I didn't realize the tilapia didn't come with rice - so I had to throw some in the rice cooker quickly. The sauce was packaged separately from the fish which kept it crispy - and the sauce was perfectly spicy and sour with only a hint of sweetness. All of the food was full of flavour, well-spiced, and fresh. The egg rolls and samosas were clearly made fresh and were delicious. The sauces that accompanied them were also homemade and had great flavour - I wish the portions were slightly bigger on those - or give customers the option to pay extra for a larger sauce. Portions for the other items were very good and there were plenty of leftovers. The food was absolutely delicious, prices were very reasonable, and I would definitely order from here again. It's me again. I know that my previous review of all the delicious things available at Taw Win got you very excited, so I just had to share a few more possibilities with you. You're welcome! Palata is a flaky multi-layered bread which is indeed related to the Paratha of South Asia - and at TW, you can try yours with, for example, eggs or mashed yellow peas (a variation you may hear referred to as Pe-Palata). Alternately, how about a bite or two of Thinbaw Thee Thoke instead? Especially popular in Shan State (which directly borders Thailand), this sprightly salad blends green papaya, long beans, tomatoes and peanuts with the perky zip of Ngapi Yay (fish sauce). But there's even more that I can tell you about. Have you ever tried Danpauk? This chicken and rice casserole in fact takes its name from a Hindi expression, "dum pukht", (roughly meaning "long, low-heat cookery") and yes, it does bear a strong resemblance to the famed Indian (etc.) dish you might know better as Biryani. Or, why not do a bit of comparing/contrasting by sampling both TW's chili-dappled Thai-style fried fish and the more savory, umami (and even... fishy?) Burmese-style version. I had one of the best take out experiences here tonight! They were friendly over the phone, and have letters/#s by each item to make it simple to order without worrying about miscommunications, and it's affordable. I arrived a few minutes before the time they suggested, they greeted me at the door and promptly ushered me to a seat and gave me water while I waited. The food came out shortly after, they brought it to me and brought the payment device/iPad to me so I could pay from my seat. They were gracious, friendly, appreciative and very warm- very engaging and lots of smiles! Then.... he wouldn't let me take the bag of food, he insisted on walking me to the door, opening the door for me and then handing me my bag of food outside with more thanks! I hoped the food was as good as the service.... and it was!! They even stuck a piece of cardboard in the bottom of my bag to make sure everything stayed flat. I got the: veggie Thai egg rolls D3 pad see Ew w/beef, and B1 cold papaya salad-medium spice . It was all absolutely delicious, hot and fresh.... despite a 10min. Drive home before eating. The medium was perfectly medium- spicy on the tongue but perfectly edible and the spice didn't take away from the flavor. I am SO happy I found this hidden gem- I highly recommend it. But after stepping into the restaurant, we were greeted by the owner and felt at home! Delicious food in Colorado!! The food is incredible, the service staff are very kind, but the service itself was severely disappointing. I went before an event, so I went a bit early to have plenty of time to eat and not feel rushed. That being said, I ended up not having time to eat - I took my food to go and ate as I was driving. It took over an hour and a half to get my food. It seemed like they were short staffed, which is understandable, but there were only 3 other tables seated - and they already had their food. They were consistently running to go orders out, though, so I bet they're a good to go option. Wow! If you live anywhere close to Lowry, this is the place for SE Asian food. Burmese food is delicious, with some similarities to Thai and a little more of an Indian influence, which I assume is due to geography. In any event, there are delicious Burmese specialties here as well as Thai favorites, all done spectacularly well. This is food made with love. I've lived in NE Denver for a decade and we've never had anything this good with the possible exception of Thai Street Food on Montview, a place that had amazing food but was a little difficult to deal with. At Taw Win, the service is absolutely amazing. A nice clean place and they give you a bottle of water and homemade coconut jelly as you wait for takeout along with another order kicked in as a free dessert. Vegetarian friendly and they do add tofu to veggie dishes even if you don't see it on the menu. The veggie samosas are amazing, satisfying my vegetarian daughter and carnivore son. Taw Win is a gem. I'm not from Myanmar) - beef curry was the big favorite! - fried fish (husband loved it) - the coconut rice noodle dish (I loved it) - complimentary jasmine tea and soup broth were really delicious and comforting - the fish soup wasn't our favorite but it was good. Took the rest home and our teenager LOVED it. - the sticky rice dish was wonderful, tasted just like something my Filipino grandma used to make All that food for less than $50! I knew from the get go that this place was going to be great and authentic! It did not let me down! My friend and I were not super hungry so we went with some appetizers and salads to try. We both really came here to try the tea leaf salad. The bitterness and aroma from the tea leaf was very much there. It was a little too strong for my friend but I loved it. The fried beans in the salad was my favorite part. The papaya salad had a kick in to it even though I requested medium I was definitely spicy for me, they added spicy peppers in there that looked similar to green beans. So warning there. The fish balls were bland must dip in the sauce. They are chewy, but I like them like that. Our favorite by far were the egg roti and the bean roti. They were so good and highly recommend. Not really what I expected but I liked them both a lot. The egg had a hint of sweetness and the bean was savory with fried onions sprinkled on top.
